Cookes Skate Supply: what do users think?
Savanna Long: I went to Cookes on recommendation from my coach after having a poorly done fitting elsewhere. I’m an 21 year old Adult 2 beginner skater and had yet to be in proper fitting skates since starting in December. Despite being new; I was welcomed by the amazing staff! I worked with Mike and Paul and they both listened to my questions and concerns; as well as provided great education for me as well! I went on Monday 4/10 and had skates ordered and ready for pickup by 4/15! This staff is incredibly fast, efficient, kind, and welcoming! I would not recommend anywhere else to go to get your next skates!
Daniel Fuss: This place is absolutely incredible! EVERYONE is so helpful and so caring. I have only lived in USA for 3 years and this is hands down the best service I have received here. These people 100% care about you and want you to be happy with your purchase, their after service isIs also just as good.I purchased some Bauer supreme M4s and love them, they made a handful of changes to the skates to make them right for me. Thank you all so much for your attention to detail.
Ediola Nuno: We’ve been coming to Cooks since we bought the new pair of skates for my daughter a year ago. She then upgraded to higher level skates this September. We feel very comfortable coming here and trust everyone. We have worked mainly with Scott and Paul and wouldn’t switch to another place. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful. We don’t mind the 45 minute drive even when we come just for sharpening.
Polished Andesite: Great service and selection for all things hockey and figure skating.
C L: For pro figure skaters and ice dancers only: Scott at Cooke’s is the tech you may want to work with. His expertise is in figure skating. However, sharpening at Cooke’s is a bit less aggressive. I asked for 3/8 but usually returned with 1/2~7/16. If you’re pursuing deep sharp edges like me, go with another skates store in Peabody. The Sharper’s Edge.
CJ D: I have never been to a place where they are better and more professional. Mike helped my son with a pair of hockey skates after he grew too large. He had his skates ready and In time for his practice later that night.
Charles James Fitzgerald III: Great sharpen
Cian Dawson: Even though they didnt have exactly what I needed in stock, they were able to order it. My skates came within less that a week. It was easy to make a second appointment. They made necessary adjustments and I walked perfectly.
Maurice Peploski: Coming here was absolutely worth the ~45 min drive. If you order skates through them, they will heat mold and reshape the skates for free. They had no problem taking the skates back to make some extra room 2-3 times. They asked me to walk in them and saw that my gait was a bit uneven, so they put in a shim to help. I asked if my clumsy walking would affect their decision and they said they can tell the difference 😁They unfortunately don't have many men's figure skates in store, but ordering them took just a week.
Walter Stred: Great small town hockey store. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Prices are good too, always lots of sales.
Kathy Casey: I figure skate and go to Cookes Skate Supply for all my needs. Just got new blades and boots. Great customer service and lots of selection for figure and hockey skates. They also sell hockey apparel and equipment. However, the best part is they know how to sharpen figure skates CORRECTLY. Alot of places do not know how and screw up the edges badly. They are the best in the business and the owner is a great person along with his employees!
zweli Miller: The shop was recommended by a hockey coach and another figure skating coach. I will never go anywhere else ever again. These people know skates. Very friendly and helpful. Great selection of equipment.
Rick Knapp: Roller skates were tight fitting; they had the equipment to make them comfortable (stretching). Again, it took a couple of tries, but Scott nailed it, and her feet don't hurt no more! A pleasure, and no doubt they know their business well. An appointment is needed if you want to be served when you get there. Thumbs up guys.
Mike Giblin: This is THE place for New skates and repair. Make an appointment for a fitting if you’re buying new. They are so patient when it comes to getting you or your kid in the right pair of skates that fit just right. Do not go anywhere else.
Melissa Richard: Fast figure skate sharpening and good job. One of the only places around that people recommend (even in NH). I also appreciate that they let me bring my puppy in when my remote start aka AC stopped working in my car on a hot day while being too far from home. Not something I would plan to do on purpose but in the moment it was appreciated.
Tristan Cooke: This is a remote control burwens cooler.😎😎😎
Tiffany: I have gone to the Cookes since I was a little girl. A little over three decades to be exact. I have been skating and competing and traveled all over the world. Reached the highest level in figure skating and with my skates and blades ALWAYS from the Cookes. Most recently I went with a friend to get my skates sharpened elsewhere as I had just recovered major foot surgery and thought I was very much due for new skates, so I thought. I was told my skates couldn’t be built out at all as the seams would give out and boots would break apart. (First lie) I decided to try a different person and place other then Cookes for my skates and blades to coach as this person seemed knowledgeable on skates and blades. Well needless to say by this person’s recommendations. I got sized for Aura skates. I’m coaching and my feet have never been able to go in heels since my surgery on my right foot. While still needing surgery on my left. I was told this boot is ideal for my feet as there molded to my feet. After over 8 weeks of waiting I got the skates back. The pain of just putting the new skates on was absolutely unbearable. I spent an hr at this shop having them adjusted. I didn’t even want to leave and was told to skate and try them on the ice. I was told it’s the look, you didn’t want white boots this is why you don’t like them” I was insulted as clearly he didn’t know my feet and said you can come back after you coach in them but I think you’ll be fine”’! I took them and paid for them. I went to work, put them on. I wanted to contact my son to bring my old skates to the rink. In tears these skates felt worse then my other ones. I was at a loss. I went back to this person to have him make right. Unfortunately did not and kept saying things that clearly with no understanding of my feet and pretty much telling me I’m wasting much of his time trying to fix them and there custom skates so he can’t do anything other then send them back to redo them. I told him my daughters skates feel better then these custom skates. So he went upstairs to grab the SAME skates my daughter has half size smaller and said put them on and don’t bend” I did, these did not hurt like my new custom skates proving white skates is not my issue. It’s these skates, all I wanted to do was leave. I didn’t want to send the skates out I was mentally done. At a loss. I immediately called Scott and needed to tell him I strayed away and cheated on Cookes!! What the hell was I thinking!?? Scott brought me in immediately took my old boots, HIS boots from 2001 and guess what?!! He BUILT them up and my orthodontist inside!!!! WOW can’t be done huh! No pain you say!! While I was suffering, excruciating pain in these for months. Also Scott came out with measurements of my feet since I was a KID he had my charts since I was little and first starting off with his father. I had tears in my eyes. The fact this is NOT just a business. Cookes is a proud skating family. Scott told me Tiffany these skates you were put in, are not for your feet for the heel alone! I knew I was right. Scott was explaining everything with my surgical foot and the one needing the surgery. Scott was absolutely saving me money as I was ready to buy yet another pair of skates right then and there. Scott said , let’s hold off a little while with what I have done. Scott built out my skates not one BUT two sizes and built up on my orthotics. The master work he puts into every skate is truly amazing!!! I have always sent my students and friends who skate and play hockey to Scott. The Kane family, Catherwood fam, Forristall fam, so many more. How I strayed to give someone else business BIG mistake and I won’t EVER do that again!!! SCOTT knows your feet!!!! He remembers everything about you with his charts and saves everything on you. The time and effort into his clients are like a phenomenal Dr and his patient
Andrew Hackett: Needed new skates in a pinch and had been on my current ones for almost 20 years. A buddy of mine has had good experiences at Cookes so I figured I would give it a shot. They assessment my broken skates, gave me an option to fix them, but we both determined it was best to invest the money in new skates. They took the time to measure me properly, heat and fit and then adjust a few areas specific to my feet. I left after a great experience with a new pair of skates I will have for a long time. Thank you!
Jessica K: Scott is an expert. He listened to what I was looking for (a pro level skate to replace skates from when I was 13, but not competitive level). I was able to try on a few pair, really get a feel for each skate and then I was ordered the perfect pair. When I went to pick them up the fit was checked, adjusted, and my blades adjusted to work for my gait. If you’re looking for long term skates that are just right for you. Head to Cooke’s ask for Scott or Mike. Oh and make an appointment:)
David Silva: Great hockey shop. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff
Joyce Lee: One of the best skate supply places that I’ve ever been. The staff here are amazing and professional. My kids also satisfied with their great service. Kind and friendly to children. Strongly recommend!

H A Zwicker Inc: what do users think?
Tom Collins: The best in the business!
Chris Fairbanks: Such a great experience here! Came in on Saturday looking to purchase skates. Needed a size between 12-13. A woman by the name of Joan went above and beyond to find me a pair that fit me perfectly. She heat molded them and offered to stretch them a half size to accommodate me. Absolute textbook customer service at H A Zwicker. Highly recommend for anything hockey!
Billy Hackett: Thank you Stacey, Chris, and the Zwicker's team. Your advice, patience, and knowledge are appreciated.
JBeasy 56: This place is great. They are knowledgeable and have everything you would need.
C Grise: Employees were kind and very helpful. 5 stars for everyone.
DoN DaDa: Helpful staff, everything you need for player gear, no goalie gear though
livebearridge maine: I love this place. Always giving me accurate information and making sure I get the right products.
Sheila Griffin: Great place and great help!
John Angerman: Great service. Knowledgeable.
D S: Was in Boston for my sons hockey tournament and on the morning of a game I noticed his rivets had snapped on the back of one skate. The guys repaired it and jumped us to the front of the line. When he moves here in Aug he will be using Zwicker 100%. Thanks!!
Cryobod Cryo T-Shock Treatments: I've been shopping here for years, I worked here as a kid, it's the only place I go for my hockey needs.
Judy Baron: 5 stars for Joan at Zwickers. She was so helpful; Making sure my skates and helmet fit properly and were comfortable. Explaining how to hold a stick. As someone who is new to the sport I appreciated her time.
Amy Taverna: Not a ton of skates to choose from but the employees there are very helpful!
Madel Mann: They are always super friendly and sharpen my skates really really well. I love them.
Fred Doherty: Hands down the best skate & hockey shop around! Perfect and consistent sharpening every time! We even bought multiple sets of blades to sharpen and ship up to our daughter while she was playing up at school. Nothing beats that confidence of heading into a corner with the sharpening just the way you want it. Hockey will be all about effort and skill and not worrying about proper equipment if you get outfitted from Zwickers! All that and expert repairs with quick turnaround times! They always recommended equipment by what was best for our kids rather than by price. Now that our kids can finally drive themselves (and pay) we miss talking hockey with the knowledgeable and friendly staff at Zwickers!
Leah Sanders: Love this store! Everyone there is always helpful!
F K: The staff at Zwicker especially the manager Stacey has always been honest and helpful to me. They are a great store and resource for hockey players from beginners to the seasoned. From a consumer's perspective, their pricing are competitive for retailers but you will get an honest and real assessment of the equipments as well as good post sale services. I had trouble with the fitting of my Bauer Vapor X600 skates and even after a year of wear and tear, Zwicker would still willing to reheat my skates to correct the adjustments for me. Most of the folks who work at Zwicker love and play hockey. Zwicker is the place for hockey players.
Mike Morning: Im a big fan of this place. Good staff good equipment and the have a pretty good selection of used gear. Not much for goalies though.
Arthur Correa: Best skate sharpeners, and always knowledgeable service.
Pete Trainor: Zwickers is the best! 🏒🥅
Mark Harrison: Good selection, decent prices and a helpful staff.

DK's Ice Skate Sharpening: what do users think?
ross creed: Got a great sharpening here, the quality of as done by an experienced hand is quite noticible over a sharpening done on an automatic machine. Price is on par with any other sharpening I've ever gotten. Space is big and open air, felt very comfortable being there even with covid restrictions. Highly recommend going here over the chain hockey shops, just give a call first and let them know you're coming.
A Silverman: As a former Division 1 college ice hockey player and professional ice hockey player, proper skate sharpening is the most important part of my equipment. I have had some of the best equipment pros in the world sharpen my skates. After extensive trial and error throughout various skate sharpening locations in the greater Boston area, my skates have finally found a home. I paid a visit to DK's skate sharpening and was immediately impressed with seeing my skates being sharpened on the exact machine that the NHL teams use. A great machine is only as good as the person sharpening the skates. At DK's, skate sharpening is a passion, a craft of sorts. I can honestly say my edges have never felt better than they do now. While you may not skate like a pro, it sure can help to have a true professional sharpen your skates. I highly recommend anyone to try DK's, as I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Mini Daequan: Sharpens the best skates in town. I brought my goalie skates to him and gave me a nice sharpening.
