Ocean House Surf & Skate: what do users think?
Andrew Zoller: Excellent surf shop- all things surf, SUP, wind, skate and apparel! Super nice owners, easily best shop in the Boston area!!
Rachel Burton: Had an amazing experience here with Amber helping my friend and I get all setup for surfing in a new area. She couldn’t have been more helpful and kind when helping us. Thanks so much and so excited to get out there!
Colin Cavanaugh: Absolutely phenomenal experience buying my first wetsuit with these guys. I am new to the surf world and they hooked me up with all the gear & knowledge to set me up for success. Planning to buy all my gear here going forward.
Alykhan Mohamed: Great people, good gear, and right by the break
Abby Tjie: Unfortunately I had a really scary and terrible experience when trying to rent from this shop. Amber had acted aggressively and was very unprofessional. As I was preparing to receive my rentals, my father had called the shop to inquire about prices, but Amber seemed to have gotten annoyed by the call and began to raise her voice and even used the f-bomb multiple times. After she had angrily hung up, she continued to yell at my mother and I who stood in respectful silence. This was not even an argument, I honestly feel verbally harassed. She aggressively ripped our rental application up in front of us, refusing to rent to us. I'm completely shocked by the experience and will not be returning.
Garrett Warren: Had an amazing experience purchasing my first wing foil board from Ocean House Surf & Skate! I browsed their inventory online and decided that day to check out their selection in person. It's hard to find a local shop with the latest wing foiling equipment. Tim walked me through the things I'd need to get started, and gave suggestions on where to surf in the area. Both Tim and Amber were personable, knowledgeable, and passionate about the shop's sports. Definitely agree that this shop is a hidden gem. The location makes it a great spot to get your gear and try it out. With beaches on both sides, you can always find an on-shore wind (very important for learning).
Jeff Laprade: Local North shore shops were all booked for ding repairs so I drove down to Nahant, brought a custom fish with some cracks in the tail in. I had called prior and they were sure they could have my board back to me, surfable, quick. And indeed they had quick turn around time, along with a beautiful fix and reasonably priced board repair. Very diligent and communicative staff let me know as soon as it was finished. Definitely a place worth supporting.
Andrew Benedick: The crew at Ocean House is amazing. I've now bought two boards from them over 3 or 4 years and couldn't be happier. Tim gives great advice on choosing a board and hasn't steered me wrong yet. Super chill and won't force you into something that won't work for you. He just wants you to be successful. They've got everything you need to get into surfing and to help you progress. Stop by, get your gear and go have fun. You won't regret it.
Fabio D'Ambrosio: Like a hidden gem . Just browsed quickly before getting food at Tides. Has some nice trucker hats in 20-40$ range. Sunglasses in the same rangeSell surf boardsNot sure if they off surf lessons but their was a sign about surf lessons when you first walk in. Will revisit
Kyle W: I recently visited Ocean House in search of a wetsuit, the girl working at the time was very helpful, and gave me some useful advice and found me what I was looking for. She was working by herself at the time, and it was a little bit hectic for one person to deal with alone. It was a beautiful weekend and the waves were pumping, but she managed to juggle the phone and a steady stream of customers all at the same time without neglecting anyone. It was really impressive and prompted me to write this review. Give that girl a raise. The shop was in a temporary location due to construction and parking was shared with a restaurant at the same location. The selection was also a bit limited, especially because it was the end of a busy weekend, but I was able to get what I came for and the prices were definitely fair and reasonable.
Bill Whitsett: Very cool folks. Helpful. Patient. Knowledgeable. And Very cool folks. Shop local. Support your local shops.🤙🌊
Quinn Forman: Cannot say enough good things about this place. The employees and owner know what they are doing; They are truly looking to help you. Went in the other week to find a replacement fin. None were readily available but the owner took out a brand-new set of fins and sold me one. Great experience and will definitely be coming back.
Anne Tashareau: Nice shop. Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Purchased MF board last Summer. Great "ultralight" longboard and design that doesn't disappoint in moderate/high surf. Considering a paddleboard that can work the small surf days, and will touch base for recommendations.
Caroline McCall: This place is awesome. The employees and owners are super helpful and friendly. They've been encouraging and happy to share tips and tricks for a number of my friends who have gone in to rent and buy gear. They're very available to advise and chat but also give you space to browse. Tim just fixed a ding in my board and it came out beautifully (and speedily), and everyone was efficient and communicative from my email about an estimate to getting my fixed board out the door. Thanks y'all, you rock.
Ana Nenshati: Awesome and helpful owners. They have so much more than boards and surf equipment. I've gotten some great holiday gifts there (tea tumblr, soaps/bath bombs, sunscreen, reusable grocery bags!)
Keith Santos: The staff is very knowledgeable and just great to talk to. They had everything I needed to rent so I could enjoy the waves. The price for rentals was far below what I expected to pay and what I did rent was of high quality. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit.
Yeremi Leonis Tolentino Cuevas: This place is awesome. Cheap prices and great customer service and it's right in front of the beach
Terrence Cullinane: This place is the spot to get your sup on. Surf and skate. Old school boards have arrived. Dayo is the man to ask for. He will suit you to your needs. Very nice
James Annarelli: Excellent customer service
Bridget Cronin: Paddle boards were great, girls working were friendly, but the guy didn't help much just watched a woman load two huge paddle boards with her elderly mom, even after another employee told him to help. Still might go again because of location but just wasn't trying to keep us coming back that's for sure.
Nicholas Curtis: Fin box repair was mint.
