She asked me for credit card first before the job started. I had no choice just to give her to charge for $235.00. This morning, I check my card statement, the charge for the job was $294 ish. I called her, she explained that the $50 ish was a charge to repair the nest last closing. I was not aware of anything. Roger Pool just changed me $50 without my authorization. Be aware with this company. Don't give them your credit card first, pay when you get a slip.

Aaron Noyes: Their costumer service was absolutely abysmal, when I tell you that these people are nasty it’s an understatement. Having had to deal with a multitude of representatives none of them have been helpful nor even remotely nice. They wouldn’t help fix a filter they installed less than a year ago and now we are forced to use another company. Not only should this be under some form of warranty but any filter less than a year old should not break 3+ times... I will not recommend this group to anyone and as someone who’s been a loyal customer for 10+ years I am disgusted.

Renee: We built a 20 x 40 inground pool almost 20 years ago. Usually every year I open the pool with my dad, but the beginning of last year he had a quintuple bypass surgery and during his recovery he was very immobile. Since I can’t do it on my own, I called Rogers Pool, as they are reasonably priced and have been in my area pretty much forever now.When they opened the pool, they couldn’t get our filter running. I received a call from them about how we needed a new pump and that we had a leak. When I relayed the message to my dad, he disagreed. Despite doctors orders that he cannot use stairs, bend over, or exert himself in any way, (obviously I couldn’t stop him, I’m sure many of you understand what that’s like) he eventually figured out that the guys who opened the pool never took the skimmer plugs out. After my dad pulled out the plugs, he primed the pumps and got the filter running. This was a very easy job to accomplish but due to incompetence of our hired help, I had to watch my father struggle to finish the job when he physically could not. He just really wanted to open the pool for his grandson. The pool ran fine all season.My dad was still not fully recovered by the end of the season, so he called up Rogers to close the pool. I guess he figured, what are the odds Rogers Pool will make another mistake that stupid, right?He is now fully recovered and this past weekend I helped him open the pool. Usually when we open the pool (after closing it ourselves), the pool is green but it is a clear green and we can see the very bottom of it. This time, it was a deep, very murky green and the pools water line was high. Upon closer inspection, we found that they never drained the pool to the proper level, never flushed the lines out and never put the skimmer plugs in.I don’t know what it is with this company and skimmer plugs, but when you don’t put skimmer plugs in the pool when you close it up, you are risking the pool lines freezing and destroying the pools plumbing. We are so lucky that the previous winter was mild, because everything is running fine right now, however, we did notice a small leak in the manifold of our pool heater, and that heater is only 3 years old.We were going to let the mistakes made when they opened the pool go, but because they didn’t open AND close our pool properly, my father called Rogers asking for a full refund. Nothing more nothing less. That’s pretty reasonable since they didn’t do both jobs properly and would have ruined our pools plumbing if we had a colder winter. My father wasn’t even offered a partial refund, instead the owner told him he was lying, and when my dad began getting frustrated, the owner also called him crazy. The owner claimed he sent guys to resolve the issue when they first opened the pool, but that is not true, I watched my father fix everything on his own 3 weeks after he was let out of the hospital.My father still has heart disease, and although I was trying to make his life easier by calling Rogers Pool, I did the exact opposite and it only served to stress him out.I only recommend using Rogers Pool if you are going to baby sit them while they work and you know all the steps they are supposed to take, but just a heads up- even if you request for them to call you before they come over, they will not.I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

B S: So, after reading Steve's review, your telling everyone that doesn't use your pool services that you don't honor your 50 or 100 year warranty, whatever it is?Guess its kind of like paying you in full the 1st couple visits (6 site visits in 6 weeks collected 90% of total) and now just hanging around with my backyard a complete disaster waiting for you to finish??? I was told/sold not to use our own electrician and plumber because of the delicate coordination??? The electrician has been onsite twice now, the second time was to complete what he did the 1st time, GREAT coordination. I could have done myself what they have done and I would have saved 10 grand, EASY1 task per week is all your accountable for according to the salesman who sold it to us, wish we were told that from the beginning. Does that go to 1 per month after you collect all financials and we're left with a mud pit all spring, summer and maybe fall too?We made 10% deposit at the beginning to be put on a so-called schedule. Steve Webster: I bought my pool from South Shore gunite about 20 years ago and have had really no issues with it until recently. My spa has some parts that are missing and I called today to get a service call. The gentleman who answered the phone told me that because I haven't used them for service over the past few years they wouldn't help me. I was crystal clear with him that I bought the pool from them and was a past customer. "No" he replied there was nothing he could do. I own a business too and if one of my past clients called me with a problem I'd do everything I could to make sure they were happy. Word of mouth is extremely important. So for those of you considering hiring this company I would say that your past business means nothing to this company. They do not stand behind their product and my advice is to choose another company!

J Foxtrot: My friend is using this company for his new pool install and said they were great so far. I got their info and called for an estimate. Andy seemed great and came out the next day for an estimate. He took photos, asked questions and and said he would get back to me after giving me a rough estimate. That’s when things fell apart. We didn’t hear anything for 3 weeks, so I sent a text and then left a voicemail with him. Both went unanswered. We just wanted an idea of how things were going and what to expect as a timeline.I get pool companies are very busy, but for a $150k+ project, a simple response would be a minimum expectation. I called the main company number the next day and was assured by the receptionist Andy would call me later that day. Didn’t happen. I gave it until the next week (1 month since site visit) and called the main number again. I was assured for the second time I would be contacted by him that day. unfortunately I was not and we ended up going with a more responsive company of equal quality. We did our due diligence and got multiple quotes from multiple companies due to the large investment. This was the first company that came out, yet we were able to get comprehensive quotes from several other companies that came weeks after this initial site visit.I would stay away from this company. They are either too busy to conduct their jobs properly or are simply disorganized. My friend who referred me has been constantly apologetic due to the lack of customer service I received. Again, I was referred to this company by a customer currently getting a large pool installed from them and they totally dropped the ball with me. Unfortunate because their quality is phenomenal from what I have seen.

Michael Henning: Decking was done incorrectly, and needed to be torn up and replaced, foam popping through the plaster, a big water stain from shallow end of pool to the deep end, requiring pool to be replastered. Andy admitted to the problems, but refused to fix the problems. $50k on pool and hot tub, $15k on legal fees and we finally got a nice pool. Stay away.

We interviewed several Pool companies and when we met Kevin Ransom a Pool Salesman for Environmental Pools we were completely impressed. Honest, Genuine and VERY RESPONSIVE!We first met with Kevin Ransom of Environmental Pools back in June of 2016...after interviewing a few pool builders we knew instantly that we had to go with Environmental. NO ONE can deliver what they can. After 13 years of dealing with problem after problem with our old vinyl lined pool we decided we needed to pull the trigger on a complete face lift of our backyard space. Our old pool got torn out on September 8th and our new yard was completed on October 19th. 5 weeks...to dig out our old pool, excavate, build a massive retaining wall around the back of the yard, install over 1800 square feet of blue-60 techo-block pavers, build a fire pit, put in a complex draining system, (all done by Triad Associates Haverhill) ask for Jason, he's the best)New custom free form Gunite pool with custom waterfall and Pebble Tech finish, and complete Landscape lighting. Yes all of this in 5 weeks! AMAZING. The finished product is beyond words...we have a complete OASIS in our yard. It looks like it belongs in a magazine. We can't even believe that it's our yard. These guys are just amazing! They are the best. I did my homework before we hired this company and it was truly the best thing we ever did. SOLID EXPERIENCE. Right on budget, right on time and Effortless. As for Kevin Ransom (the nicest, and most genuinely honest sales person we've ever met) You are the best Kevin!

james deluca: I bought a new hot tub and was concerned about my lack of experience with the chemicals. A friend told me I could get my water tested here and it would tell me exactly what to add. So I started once a week , sometimes twice and it was very helpful. The staff was really nice. One day, I was driving home after getting my water tested, I was having issues with cloudy water and the staff member and I had a conversation about it since I was doing everything they told me to do. My cell phone rang and it was them so I answered it and it was the manager. I thought he was going to give me suggestions on how to handle the cloudy water issue. Instead, he told me my account was frozen and to not come in anymore unless I buy something. I explained that my hot tub was new and I still had all the chemicals I started with and that I fully intended on buying my chemicals there once I used up what I had started with. He reiterated not to come back unless I buy something. I want to note that not one single time that I got my water tested was there any other customer in the store, so it wasn’t like I was in the way of “paying” customers. I simply chose this place for their expertise and building a relationship. Unfortunately, this was not their desire. The manager really made me feel like I was doing something wrong.In response to your response, that had nothing to do with it. I was never asked what brand chemicals I use. I choose ASAP because they schedule the pool water delivery which is very time critical and the other company did not. I also had to have them check for an underground leak which they found in the return line of the pipes. Due to covid, some of the prices had increased, however, Jim did not pass the increase on to us!! He checked in regularly and when we had questions he always responded immediately.
