Marjorie Stradinger: There's something amazing about buying produce from the grower. My Oyster and Shitake mushrooms from Urban Artisan Farm, and available weekly until October 30 at Farmer's Market at Forest Park in Springfield, are just some of the wonderful foods available at these booths.But being able to talk to Jack about growing the mushrooms, about recipes, about life, is so much more fun than just picking up a box of warehouse-old mushrooms at a local supermarket.What a treat to have these growers at this local market.Thank you. Next time I will have to try one of their hydroponically grown salad mixes.

Bee Hill: This is a hidden gem in West Springfield. We visited this garden store several times this summer, and found it has some of the best ice cream around. I think we even bought up the last few scoops they had this season. They have a line of wooden rocking chairs out front. Sitting in them makes us feel like we're right at home. Can't wait for next year!

C Adams: Great creamy soft serve vanilla and chocolate and swirl. Also many flavors of hard serve and sundaes. A few picnic tables, some under a tent ceiling and others under the trees.

clarissa schimert: I have bought these peanuts for a number of years but in the last couple of years I’m finding that the in-she’ll salted (green bag) nuts are getting roasted darker and darker. They used to be crunchy and fairly white, what happened? I miss the lighter ones.
