Tori Atkins: I won a hot air balloon ride for two from this company in 2018 at a charity raffle. Unfortunately I was never able to use it due to weather/pandemic. Last year, I reached back out to the number on the certificate I won and spoke to Bryan, the new owner. I explained to him that I had corresponded with the previous owner, Rich, but was never able to go on a ride. Bryan generously agreed to honor the previous owner’s commitment and asked me to reach out to him in Spring of 2022. I did so and Bryan scheduled us for a few rides but the weather never worked out. Out of the blue, Bryan texted me with his personal number and asked me to send him a picture of my boarding pass. I sent him a picture of the certificate I won back in 2018. He texted back that the certificate I had wasn’t for his company. What doesn’t make any sense is the fact that the phone number on the certificate is the one I had talked to him on every time we had spoken on the phone. I said as much and also explained to him that I won this at charity put on for a family I know. He told me he had never heard of the family. I said that’s fine but questioned why he had said he would honor the previous owner’s commitment if he was unwilling to do so. He never replied.

I have many years of professional flying experience, but had never before experienced a hot air balloon ride. My kids and grandkids were kind enough to give me this ride for my last birthday. My aviation background allowed me to observe the operation with a critical eye and everything I saw was performed with safety in mind so go ahead and enjoy! Would I ride with Bryan again? In a heartbeat, YES!
