D'Amour Center for Cancer Care: what do users think?
Sandra Fortier: Just finished radiation therapy! Thanks go to the techs who helped me get through one of the toughest times of my life with ease! They are a great team!
Debra Weaver: My husband ricky weaver had both dr Mertens and dr napier back in 2008 and he had surgery in the fall of 2008 and did great...as of today 5/18/2021 ricky is cancer free for 13 yrs now and continuing good health thanks to dr napier and dr Mertens best cancer drs in baystate...thanks again to both drs that got him thru this tough time...dr napier and dr Mertens ricky says hi to u both ....
Nicole Padilla: D'Amour has been my second home for a month and a half as I received radiation therapy. The valet's and front desk are helpful and courteous. The building is well kept, modern and clean. My treatments were with Dr. Dong and her amazing team Chris, Lauren and Sarah - All of these lovely women made a very difficult time in my life tolerable. I can't even properly convey how comfortable they made me feel, and how kind they were. I talk to so many cancer patients who have to travel so far to have treatment done, but I am lucky to have cutting edge treatments available so close to home. I highly recommend this center, my Doctor and all the great people within the Baystate system who saved my life 3
Susan Hearn: 100% the Best staff. From the staff that answer the phones, the valet parking attendants, the BEST EVER Infusion teams, awesome MD's, Nurses, PA's. I am so glad I chose Baystate D'amour Cancer Center. They are taking wonderful care of me both physically and emotionally. I see Dr. Katz, MD, Deb Waite,PA.
Kaitlin Douglas: This place has been a second home to us for years ( sadly ) but dr McCann and all tne staff has made this processSo much easier on us! My amazing mom is still here because ofAll of you and I can’t thank you enough
Joe Sweeney: awesome people and treatment ..i love u baystate...u rock..from the valet parking to the best Doctors and Nurses total thanks!!
ramzon: The Drs and nurses have been the most professional and compassionate people during my wife's treatment. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer , 4 inch tumor had developed with in 4 months of her last mammogram. The Drs sat with us and discussed their plan of action for treatment. She received 6 months of chemotherapy averaging 6 hour per session. A month after chemo ended, she had a mastectomy of the breast with the tumor. After recovery of 8 weeks she started daily radiation therapy for 6 weeks. 5 months after radiation was completed she had removal of her other breast and reconstruction a surgery that lasted 20 hours. She recovered in 8 weeks and just last week, she had another surgery as a follow up to reconstruction. During this entire journey we had access to her Drs, and could call anytime with questions or concerns. The nurses for chemo and radiation were so caring and compassionate and became friends. The last test showed that my wife is cancer free
vickie fitzgerald: They show no compassion to my sister. She has 6 tumors on brain. She has stated many times about headaches. They ignore her. I seen it with own eyes. After pressing doctor she stated she needed to go to radiation. I thought this group worked together as a whole. She is stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. There is no hope at least they can make comfortable but she is on methadone for prescription drugs. I feel they are being prejudicial because of this fact. She is left to own devices because she does not know what to do or ask. She's never had cancer before so she doesn't know what to do. She has no strength to go up and down stairs to get relieve. I called radiation and they told me I needed to go to hematology after hematology said we needed to go to radiation. They said they call back but now it's the weekend and they are closed. She still has a headache.

Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center: what do users think?
LALA Cello: The nurses in this facility are amazing. They go above and beyond to help you and make you feel safe they do give you.2 units of blood if your body needs it especially your hemoglobin level. The only problem with that is it’s an overload of iron in your liver. However, there should be other treatments to be provided to patients who are anemic, not having cancer or leukemia other treatments that should be able to improve the hemoglobin level in white blood cells or red blood cells. Again the nurses are above and beyond. They truly care and make you feel part of the family.
leeann rose: My mother was a patient here for YEARS. We couldn't ask for any better. All around from the doctors, PA, nurses are all amazing!! Treated her and all of us like family felt so comfortable being there where it's the last place you should comfortable.. everyone is very welcoming. We felt we were heard and kept in the loop about every single detail and every question was answered and broken down for us to fully understand. Everyone always made sure we understood everything/anything being explained. Truly thankful for everyone at the cancer center!
Raquel Medina: Imagine being told your father is fine. He is having night sweats, all kinds of pain, all the symptoms of having a tumor, yet is dismissed by the incompetence of your doctor. To make matters worse, he's later found to have a tumor. Is told it's benign. Pain is still there. Health deteriorating. Months later, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Now is told, there's nothing they can do but wait for him to die. Disgusted. You should be ashamed to have a low human being representing your hospital.
Dina Gross: Moved from NJ to Mass and needed follow up care, new Oncologist ect. What a FRIENDLY and WELCOMING staff. The facilities are clean. I'm glad I chose Mercy & Sister Caritas.
Michelle Forget: As a former employee I can tell you this is the most toxic environment I’ve ever worked in. I worked as an Oncology scheduler for a month before I cut my losses, left one day and texted my manager I would not be returning. The office manager and practice manager are about as useless and unsupportive as they come. Vulgarity and work place hostility and bullying are consistent and daily occurrences. Dr. Glynn does not care about his staff’s comfort or happiness. Every patient that walks through the door is just another dollar in his pocket. Trinity and Mercy offices love to put off this holier than thou, Catholic facade where they uphold values and morals but please don’t be fooled. If you’re seeking employment with Mercy or Trinity I strongly urge you to run, not walk away from this place. If you’re a patient facing a cancer diagnosis, I promise you, you’ll find more competent, professional and compassionate care elsewhere.
Lex Harrington: Started off here when i found out i had cancer. I waited an unreasonable amout of time to have a biopsy and start treatment. I ended up leaving and going to Baystate. I started treatment as soon as i switched over. It was like night and day!! I had heard great things about Mercy. Unfortunately they were not true. At least in my experience they weren't. By the time that i decided to switch dr's five month went by with pretty much nothing accomplished.
Joyce A Smith: The people that work there are Spectaculer and they treat you like a real person . Very comforting. 🙋‍♀️💜🌹
Creative Luv: Be watchful, My mother was treated there for breast cancer. They said it was very tiny nothing to worry about. They did radiation therapy for 30 days and said she was fine I even have a cute medal for cancer survivor. This was 2012. She then continued her follow up where they said she's fine. All the while she was never the same. She became weaker always tired easily. As years went by she complained about headaches, neck pain, side pain, pelvic pain, constipation , bladder issues with blood in urine but no infection. Chest pain. Hip pain. Heel pain. All misdiagnosed individually. Even treated individually. Well finally after so much depression and dr.s appointments. Why don't I feel well? I ask them to admit my mother because her health was rapidly declining. Sadly, they said her cancer was back. There was nothing they could do for her. After that day of horrible news my mother lasted 67 days. She was broken in multiple locations. The cancer was on all her organs even in her bones. How could this happen? She always followed up on all her visits. Went to all mammograms. What then is preventative care if her death was such torture to scream in pain and be broken in multiple locations. Please get a second opinion. Never take there word. And yes they were all sweet and caring. However my mother died of metastasized breast cancer that is 100% curable when found early. Never once did it accure to any Dr. She was beging for help. Never once did they check if it returned somewhere else. Breast cancer can said to be gone but have actually spread to near by organs. Go, ask for second opinion. Skip radiation, it can feed cancer and bring it back (business) financial gain for them. Chemo fast while strong is better. Remember usually when they find it your healthy. Fact, educate yourself! Lesson learned, always get second opinion! Nice facility, Good appearing dr.s and friendly staff is only there job. Remember they get paid for that.
Sheila Somers: I recently completed radiation treatment at Sister Caritas Caner Center in Springfield MA. My experience at their center was by far more superior and caring than I had ever anticipated. Just the fear of cancer can make any treatment emotionally difficult. The staff at this treatment center went above and beyond to make me comfortable at all times. They were always accommodating, considerate of my needs and very pleasant all while being upbeat and professional. Thank you crew. You are the best.
