Mario's Clock Repair: what do users think?
Victoria Wright: Mario would not even acknowledge that we were in his shop after speaking with him 3 times prior and him knowing we were on our way. We were blatantly ignored and there was no one else in there. I suspect it was because he didn’t like the pigment in our skin. I wish him well.
Marie Arnold: Mario knows clocks! Great pricing for fixing my 100 year old clock.
John Kaplan: Great guy!! Loves clocks! Very professional.
Harley Etli: I'm not to sure how gd the service is b/c when I went there, they weren't there. The thing is that I called ahead of time and told them I was coming from Amherst, which is a 45 minute commute to where Marios is located in Westside. He told me to come on down and that he was open and would see us. Took the trip down there and no one was there, the shop was closed and no one answered the phone.
Michael Buscemi: Great service. Enjoyed meeting Mario. He did a great job with my clock.
Dennis Walker: Very good, but hard to get on the phone. Need to just go there.
Paul Cigal: My old grandfather clock movement wore out. I bought a new movement on eBay, but it needed some modifications to properly work in the old cabinet. Mario has the skill, knowledge, and experience to make it work. He charged a fair price for the work, and it has been keeping good time since I got it home. Many thanks, Mario. You are the best
S P: Mario is an expert at clock repairs! He fixed my cuckoo clock and it works perfectly! Mario is very friendly and great to do business with!
Giovanna Marshall: Very friendly and the owner mario very nice man. He told me that he don’t do shoes 👞 anymore for almost 5 years but he did fix my shoes anyway. Please be aware that he only repair 🕰 clocks. Thanks mario!!!
SJA999991 florence: Sweet man and doea great work
Mary Ann Argiro: He finally changed his sign to match what he does. Wasted a trip to Mario's Shoe repair only to be told he doesn't fix shoes. I was also disappointed in the place he referred me to in Springfield. Not great workmanship.
jill owens: I took in a pair of 10 Year old workboots for new soles and he made my work boots look like new, and the price was more than fair! Old time cobbler! I will recommend this shop to friends and family.
David Wanczyk: Mario is an awesome guy! He can fix anything! Old school craftsman, knows his stuff! I highly recommend this pleasant, lovely man.
matt LaMagdeleine: Great guy. He does phenomenal work

Clockworks: what do users think?
Daniel Stangrecki: Had to save a memory for my parents and Clockworks came thru. For anyone who tries to keep a clock working its because its a pleasent reminder of a moment or memory of something or someone. This clock was that to my parents for 50 years. It stopped ringing correctly and eventually broke a spring. Its been repaired several times over the years but now finding someone to work on it is nearly impossible. A nother lost art.My father asked if I could do something to get it working again. After looking for a original movement and failing because there are none in existance I read about Clockworks. I spoke to Christian who explained that the movement I had picked out might not be the correct one to replace the original. After explaining some diffences Christian connected me with James, a clockmaker for 30 plus years. After sending James pics and measurements he recomended the movement that would have the best success of replacing my old movement. James also told me of some issues to consider and that I would have to make some changes possibly to the clock case to accept and allow the movement to function. After getting the movement recommended and overcoming some simple obstacles I have a working clock with a two year warranty on the movement. The clock has a new heart and is singing again bringing back the memories for my parents when they got it 50 years ago.For me it was fun to work on and learn something along the way. Thanks to Christian and James at Clockworks.
alton clark: Excellent service. My Pillar and Scroll clock which I built 47 years ago needed a new movement. Pleased that Clockworks could find the exact replacement. Plus they stood ready to help if needed.
Cameron H: Great ordering process and the best selection around
Mike Lane: Clockworks was great to deal with when selecting a movement and other accessories for my first clock project. I hope to deal with them many times for future projects.
John Kavanaugh: I couldn't be happier with the work done restoring the movement, pendulum, and assistance regulating my Seth Thomas Regulator 2 wall clock. The manufacturing markings on the case indicate it was a March 1885 built clock. This clock hung in my grandparents house when I was a child and then hung in my parents house. When they passed the clock came to me. My grandfather started our family's business for building and servicing pipe organs, bell ringers and tower clocks. So it was always interesting to me that this clock never ran, that I can remember. Now, with a little love and care from Clockworks, and a couple parts sourced from eBay, this 183 year young clock is ticking happily away on my home office wall. As is the reputation of this clock (the clock that ran the railroad) it is keeping very accurate time. Being the grandson of a clock maker, I'm kind of picky about that.
Karen Schimmer: Clockworks is a terrific resource. Its articles are clearly written and easily understood making them very informative and helpful. The service is excellent. They respond quickly to questions, and the parts I ordered arrived within days. The movements and mechanisms carried are top of the line. Bravo to a business that readily meets clock enthusiast’s needs, and does it well.
Robert Samson: I received the new movement. It went in very well. Is running great. I very much appreciate the help you gave me in getting my clock working again . You worked with me on every step and were very good to work with. I would recommend you to every one needing a clock repair.
Bobby Venters: I purchased this clock in the late 70's for the wife. Clock worked great until last year. Contacted "Clockworks" and they had instructions on things to check for the problem with mine. I found that I needed a new movement. James was a great help in getting the right replacement. The replacement took little time in getting here. Replace it and the clock worked great for almost a year. Emailed James with Clockworks again and he made the arrangements for the replacement. Got it installed and happy to said the clock is working better than ever. The people at Clockworks are very easy to work with. And special thanks to James.Bobby
Pickers Shack: Christian was very helpful. We would recommend Clockworks any time. Thanks for exceeding our expectations from all of us at the Pickers Shack.
Mike Murphy: Purchased a new movement from Clockworks for my Emperor Grandfather Clock that was built by my father from a kit ~40-45 years ago. I was nervous about tackling this project so I delayed starting it for several years. The movement fit perfectly and the replacement was much easier than I thought it would be. Being able to work with Clockworks and ask questions in the online chat was also very helpful. Thank You Christian for all your help!
Raul Hermosillo: Great place to buy and get advice
Jerry Cardwell: Great support. Easy to follow movement replacement instructions.
Procurement Group: Great service and technical assistance helped find the right part to repair Grandfathers antique clock.
Jerry McAfee: Great company to work with. Answered my questions promptly. My first GF clock. Wonderful products.
Glenda S: We needed a replacement battery pendulum mechanism for our grandfather clock and ordered it from Clockworks. When I installed it, nothing worked. I called and was very quickly called back. I explained what I thought was wrong and Debbie agreed to replace the part after they tested it first. I was thrilled and it is in the clock now, working perfectly. Clockworks will always be my first choice for my clock parts! I even got a nice text from Jim. Wonderful folks!
Jeremymvi Sword: My 40 y/o Ethan Allen clock from Cedar Rapids purchased in 1983 finally wouldn’t stay running. Several pivots were excessively worn. It had a Urgos UW32573D mechanism. Contacted Christian there at Clockworks and he recommended a Hermle UW 32334 (new factory mechanism) as a drop in replacement. Worked perfectly. I oiled it, installed it in exactly the same orientation, reused the chain, weights, pendulum, chime selection lever, top retaining bars, moon gear, and adjusted (by bending per instructions) the strikers. Everything was done according to instructions emailed to me by Clockworks. Only challenges were that the Hermle shaft for moon gear, hour and minute hands were bigger than the old Urgos mechanism. I had to do light sanding to get the moon gear to fit without forcing but it wasn’t too difficult. Hands supplied with new mechanism were smaller than original but Clockworks sent me a new larger set free. Overall I’m really happy and would order from them again.
Dennis Stewart: These folks are absolutely wonderful. I wanted to make a lot of clocks for Christmas and these folks supplied all the works and the face. Very knowledablge and extremely fast at shipping . I will always consult them when making clocks.
Kimberly Bersin: James and staff were very helpful directing me to the right parts for our project. The once broken 31 days clock has been reborn as Cogsworth complete with a brand new Hermle movement. Thank you again!
Gary Zimmer: Ordered a replacement clockwork from Clockworks for an old, broken down clock. A perfect fit and it worked great right away. Installation only took a couple of minutes and the clock’s owner was very happy with the results.
Craig Wengerd: Recently experienced first class customer service on my order. The folks at Clockworks jumped right on my issue and in one short afternoon a real live person (Christian) handled it. Outstanding!!
Sharon Held: Clockworks folks were quick to respond to my question and after I made my order, the item came to me quickly!

Alexander “all.good17”: Excellent service, knowledge, and professionalism. Highly recommend this to anyone in need of watch repair!
Judy Salosky: Avery is awesome. Quick service with a smile on his face.
K L: There's a reason that EVERY SINGLE review of Hero Watch Repair is 5 STARS (mine included). Avery knows his stuff, does excellent work, is communicative, timely, and fairly priced. After calling around the CT/NY area, and finding few watch makers, and even fewer with availability / not astronomical pricing; I then stumbled across Hero Watch online and its reviews.Made the drive up into MA to give Avery two Hamilton automatics (one a 1960s family piece) the other a newer Khaki that broke after a drop. Both came back stellar. I plan to use Hero to maintain my collection and recommend him to friends and family.
Clara Kim: Thanks so much for replacing my watch battery! Works like new :)
Anthony Reynolds: Excellent work. Went the extra mile. I will be bringing all my watches here in the future.

Walter Randall: As a luxury watch collector, I have to say Hero's is hands down the best watch expert I've ever been to and I've been to plenty from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York to Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware. Not only did he repaired my 5.22 karat diamond watch but he did at no cost because I forgot to bring cash and bought my card instead. Needless to say I scheduled a appointment for a battery replacement asap!!!
Colchis Forge: I can't recommend this business highly enough. My 100 year old heirloom Waltham pocket watch is working right again, has a clean new crystal, and I can open it freely for the first time ever. The service was completed in an hour for a very reasonable price and I got great pointers on maintaining the watch going forward. To top it all off, I happened to get a flat tire on my way to pick up the watch and Avery fixed that too!
T Bedard: The only watch reapir place I would go to, the best around here!!!!
Lucy Sklarski: The best person to go to for any watch problems! Amazing and fast service.

George's Jewelers Inc.: what do users think?
Robin Stopa: Great earrings!
Vivian Dziengelewski: Brought my Tissot watch to George for a battery replacement. Not only was he unable to put the watch back together, he marred the back plate. He spent over 20 minutes working on it!He finally told me to send the watch back to the manufacturer. Furthermore, there was no offering to pay for his bungled failed attempt to complete the job. As it turned out not only did he ruin the back plate but he ruined the gasket that held the watch together.
Avrey LaValley: Called today and asked about Watch Repair services. The woman lied to me about being certified to repair, and then rudely refused to even entertain me speaking about possible assistance. I’ll never shop there.
Elizabeth Lapointe: Amazing bench jewelers
Gus Roussi: They fixed my wife's watch band for a reasonable price.
