I've got to say that this has been one of the best contractor experiences we have ever had. We had some odd scheduling requests and John & his team totally accommodated our needs. We also found a few things that needed to be done differently than we expected and knew that it would cost more than the original estimate. They were extremely reasonable with the extra charges. John & his team was very nice and professional. We had a bad slope in one corner and they did an amazing job to level it out much more than we thought was possible. I said I didn't know and told we hadn't own the house that long and there was no label or badge on our fence. She said if it was a "Home Depot Job" they couldn't fix it. She then said someone could do a "drive by" to see if they could fix it. After three days of not hearing back from her, I emailed. Only then did she say they couldn't fix it. What kind of customer service is that? Should we decide to replace the entire fence one day we won't be calling GMH.

JOHN Murphy: The owner, Glenn, has fencing in his blood! He understands all aspects of the field - from pricing, materials, labor and competition. We were interested in having 160' of 6' tall vinyl fencing (no gates) and having a chain link fence repaired (minor effort). Glenn made valued recommendations to help with aesthetics. He works 7 days a week, showing up over the weekend to check on project progress. We found pricing to be competitive, and would only go to him for future work.GMH installation team, led by Jonah, did an excellent job. They answered our questions and addressed any concerns we had. Most importantly, the fence was installed straight as an arrow!As with everything in the Pandemic Year, our project was impacted by supply chain shortages. Accordingly, we had to wait 12 weeks from July down payment until the job began in November. While we had hoped it would be done sooner, we were nevertheless very pleased (5 stars) because we were told by the office team (Diane) that it would take that long. Also, they met our Thanksgiving date, which was key for us.We think the real "superstar" of GMH Fencing is Diane. She answers the phone, keeps track of customer orders, helps get people in touch (phone or email) with Glenn and addresses any concerns with honesty, not just telling you what you want to hear. Diane manages to stay up to date on multiple orders, different installer teams, project scheduler and a very, very busy boss. Diane told us from day 1 to expect to wait 12 weeks and she was right, nearly to the day. Al LaFleche: NEVER AGAIN! We contracted with these guys in April for two short sections of vinyl picket fence and gates for the front of the house. The gates had to be custom made so it took a while to get them. They got to us several weeks ago on a Saturday morning and took out the old fence and started setting up the new. We were in and out that day so couldn’t watch the progress. They were gone when we got home. One section was unfinished and the gates weren’t installed. The yard is pretty flat but the fence drops several inches on one side, according to them, following the lay of the land, despite the fact the bottom at one end is less than two inches above the ground and the other end is over 4 inches above the ground. The other section, even shorter has more drop. When then came to review what had been done after I complained, they rudely insisted it looked fine and that I should be happy with a crooked that I hated. When pressed, the only recourse they offered in place of correction was to “rip out” what they’d put in and refuse any refund of our deposit. My wife was able to finally sweet talk them into finishing the job, though it really is unacceptable. We have contacted another fence guy to make the corrections.

Derek Jendrysik: After scheduling an estimate for a new fence in March, I received a quote for the wrong type of fencing. After going back and forth with the inept salesman explaining again and again the exact fence I wanted I finally received the correct quote. I paid the deposit and the install was scheduled for the first week of August. After not hearing a word for 4 months, I called and asked if my install was still on time. It was not, and the fence would be installed 3 weeks later than originally scheduled. I waited another 2 1/2 weeks without any contact and called to check on the timeline, and I was not given an answer when the fence would be installed. Another week went by and I left a voicemail that I never received a response from. The next week I finally got someone on the phone, just to be told it was the salesman that was now responsible for telling me when the install would take place, and that I would definitely receive a call from him that day. I never did get an answer for when my fence would be installed. After days of no contact again, I called to cancel and get my deposit back, which was met with no hesitation, as I am sure it was a relief to them to get rid of a customer where many mistakes were made regarding my order from start to finish. If customer service and professionalism matter to you, do not use this company. I will be sure to tell anyone looking for a new fence to stay far, far away.

George Pelletier: If I could give zero stars, I would...We contracted to have an open slat fence for a solid fence to isolate our condo deck from our neighbor's to avoid their smoking, and provide more privacy... and we made a deposit...The job was done, but they left an open hole and an open slat: see photos... We refused to pay the remaining portion of their bill until they repaired the deficiencies... They refused despite our complaint to the BBB... They threatened court action if we didn't pay... We will take care of the problem ourselves, but we wanted to post the deficiencies...Service:Vinyl fence installation

Richard Mann: I'm upset with Hastie Fence right now. Over the years I have bought TWO fences from them to enclose my back yard. When the first one was at the end of its life span I bought the second one with out even getting other quotes.The last wind storm broke off ONE of my posts (it's a good fence) I called to have it repaired. I was told politely they aren't doing repair work till the fall (5 months). They are to backed up with new jobs due to covid. NO exceptions.I asked if I could buy a post. No they barely have enough for the new jobs.How about a little appreciation for past customers !As a current wind storm will probably send the 2 fence panels into my neighbor's yard damaging them too(I have them strapped) my only comfort is I'm planning to replace this fence in a year or 2. I wonder who I should call for quotes and who gets left behind.
