Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival: what do users think?
cudaguy74: Don't get me wrong I think the festival is the best thing Springfield does and have enjoyed myself immensely in past years. But this years 2022 line up I thought was lacking and judging by the disinterested folks around me, I might not have been alone. They have multiple stages but have the bands on and in between at the same time. Festivals usually try to stagger and have someone performing always. Then on the secondary stage got DJ/rapper who just spins records no band on Saturday night primetime in years past they had Salsa Train Orchestra in that spot who were awesome. Could have been a better line up thats all, little boring musically I guess I went at wrong time.
Jazzy Williams: I hate
R BUBS: Had a great time volunteering
Dave Longey: Best day for me
Lisa Mrotek: Its FREE!!! Its downtown in Springfield outside in Court Square. The after party is at MGM casino outside. Really great artists and musicians. Nice live action video screen with drum cam! This year special tribute to Charles Neville. Lots of food vendors & craft vendors. So nice to be downtown from 11AM to midnight. Time to get funky and party.
Cheryl Knight: Excellent Performances...
Th dricks: Sweet little spot to put on a festival in Springfield Massachusetts
Eric Sutter: Awesome!
Nope None: JazzRoots Concert
Dianne Crowe: Great music, varied selection of food, and a great atmosphere
Deb Chase: This festival puts Springfield on the map. It's as good as the Newport Jazz Festival. This will be my third year going. I can't wait. Last year. Eric Krasno. This year Miles Mosley. Can't get any better.

Mark Paquette: This was the first time my wife and I have ever attend one of these events. They had a great selection of vendors and wonderful proformance through out the day.Competition between the Dragon Boats was great to watch. Next year I will consider volunteering to row for one of the corporate teams.

colin kindred: Cool place. Went to a traveling fair. Kids loved it
lin jo: well it had been three or four years since I have attended the BIG E. I went this year 2022 and I hate to say it but I was disappointed. a lot of the vendors that were there before the pandemic were not their this year. and a lot of those vendors are the ones i would go buy items from. when I went to the information booth to ask where they all were they said after the covid era a lot just did not come back. we stayed maybe 6 hours (we usually stayed 10 or 11 hours. so i guess it will be a another five years before i go back. i will check their web site to check what the vendor will be at the fair (I did not do that his year) before I go back. if some of the vendors return i will go again. and i am not the only one who was disappointed, about ten other people that I know who went said the same thing. only difference is they only stayed a few hours.

Springfield Boys & Girls Club: what do users think?
Johanna Guillen: La actividad de hoy estuvo espectacular. Todo organizado y diversión para niños.
Jonathan Rodriguez: This Boys and Girls Club was were I spent my childhood, beginning at the age of 5. It was the only place I could go where everyone was friendly, I felt safe, and very much loved. The girl working the front desk was there when I was 5 years old (at least when I visited in 2017-2018 or so). I hope TJ is still there! I have so much gratitude for him! He was such a kind, caring man. He gave me an incredible example of what a good person should be! I can remember getting Oreos from TJ everyday (as long as I behaved), and doing karate! This place is heaven on Earth. Send your kids here and you won't regret it.
Pedro J. Martinez: AlphaMartinez MVP championship
jesus Gonzalez: Love this place it was the spot to chill and have fun like family love ya sbc
Jaliza Garcia: Good

Bright Nights at Forest Park: what do users think?
Justin Martin: Giant waste of money.
Ana Maria Natal: Love it
PATRICIA JONES: Bright Nights at Forest Park was joyful and mystical experience. It like floating through a Dreamland of wonder.
Chris Duval: It's a fun experience. We have done the last few years with the kids.
Bethany McNaught: We just moved to the area, this was our first time going to Bright Nights at Forest Park. It was super easy to purchase the ticket online. The price was reasonable too! It was a nice experience to do with the family. Maybe next year we’ll make some hot chocolate to sip when we go through the park!
Mark Hamilton: Excellent display every year as always with fun treats and a carousel
Ambz: The lights were extremely beautiful. It is worth the price. I will be coming back again next year.
Kim Galloway: There were so many more lights than we expected! And I'll be completely honest, I was kind of expecting it to be tacky, but it was really well done. The different sections were well-planned and really fun. And the price was such a great value for the experience. I wish we lived closer to do this again next year!
Patricia Hoffman: Well organized annual event. Carousel was open. Dress for the weather! 2 food vendors available with kettle corn and hot chocolate and cookies. Also port a pottys are available but they don't have any lights!
Angie Fletcher: Such a fun event to go to for the holidays!!!
Mark Olson: We love it here. The look on my kids face when he saw Santa. Love the memories
Desiree Acosta: I took my 3 chihuahuas here and we had a beautiful ride through , the music playing for the assigned station was great and there were so many things to see. Great job! Made it very special for us
Dylan Lisheness: Great experience but could be longer for 25$

Symphony Hall: what do users think?
Douglas S. G. Munford: I've been to dozens of concerts over the last five decades. SSH has consistently the best sound. A lovely building inside and out. The seating is comfortable, the staff, accomodating. Parking is convenient (close-by, often free for cnocert goers, and staffed by professionals). SSH's acoustics are quite good. All factors considered, this is one of the best space in New England to attend a concert.
Terry Eaklor: Beautiful building
John Juniet: Symphony Hall is a wonderfully classic music hall. It's marble floors and Greek Revival pillars hearken to a time when theater was a prominent part of the life in and around Springfield. We saw the Air Force Concert Band from Washington DC there. Beautiful sound and great seats anywhere.
Ron Lemelin: Amazing place
Stephanie Attoumo: Great concert hall. Old and probably historic. Comfortable seats. Clean restrooms. I parked at MGM as that's who organized the concert. Snacks were expensive but I felt the water/soda/beer was priced fair.
Anna Duarte: Had a great time worshiping the lord.😊
Jeannette Vermette: I've had the opportunity to enjoy many events over the past two decades and Symphony Hall in all its splendor never disappointed.
Stephen M. Daniels: CRAMPED SEATING
Kathleen Adams: Went there for the first time this weekend for a concert and it was great. There's not a bad seat in the house. Had a wonderful time
Doug Brown: Very clean and enjoyable for the whole family
Henry Lanouette: Springfield Public Forum, Astronaut Scott Kelly, gave a great talk. Very excellent
Katheen E Auer: Springfield Public Forum hosted a lecture by Astronaut Scott Kelly. Accomodations were fine. Seats are a little small for larger people.
Lee Kay: Beautiful theater, very ornate. There are signs of aging in hanging wires, bubling paint and cracks, but it was still a great auditorium for a show.Be advised, the elevator is small and only goes to the second floor. There are only stairs to get to the third floor balcony.
Chris M: This place is sooo absolutely amazing..anywhere you sit you have a good view of the stage. I wish I was able to go to more shows here!
Fred Lewis: Wonderful experience, the symphony was superb and the guest conductor and artists were fabulous.
Michael Weber: Great shows and beautiful theater.
Johnny Scott: The Springfield Symphony orchestra is no joke!! if you love music, this is the place to be! An Awesome performance!
Gloria Caballer-Arce: Historic evening with the symphony compared by two African American composers. Fabulous!
Ada Landry: Great space, nice people, fantastic music.
Ivelisse Gonzalez Ferrera (Dona): Excent facilites. Right temperature, clean, orderly, top notch events

Margaret Sheldon: Positive:ProfessionalismThe moment I stepped in the studio, the energy was amazing! She is professional, courteous, and very inspirational! I’ll be back!👌🏽
Ari: This event was Absolutely amazing to say the least. From production, music, lighting, host, and guest speakers were all outstanding. I was not expecting much given the fact that the event was virtual, but oh was I wrong! We felt as though we were in the same room. Looking forward to rooted essence next event signed me up now.
Aaron St. Louis: Rooted Essence is proving itself to be a Mecca for dance. I witnessed so much during their grand opening ranging from their selections of music, dancers and dance styles. Every dance invoked emotion and every dancer left it all on stage.
Aliyah Early: Moriah was inspirational and I really appreciate her coming to Springfield college and sharing her knowledge and trip to Africa with us. This was a great example of what giving back to our community looks and I’m grateful to have been apart of the head wrap work shop❤️ #blackhistorymonth
Brianna D'Haiti: It was a great event but it started late because the technology was not working but the head wrap portion of the night was fun and full of laughs.
Keva Hosang: Im from Springfield college and we usually don’t have many cultural activities and Moriah brought head wrapping history and activity to us and I Loved It. It was perfect for black history month and just something to remind us of how beautiful our culture is & how we should embrace it more ❤️❤️.
Sabrina M.: I went to the headwrap workshop at Springfield College and loved it! I got to learn so many different ways to style my head wraps and gained knowledge about the history of the headwrap!
Sanaa Cisse: This experiencing was not only educational but it was also uplifting and filled me with pride. I encourage more and more people to come out to these events and not only learn but enjoy themselves to the fullest.
Rachael P.: I loved the headwrap workshop! Not only did I get to learn new ways to style my head wraps but I got to learn the history of them as well.
Danielle Griffin: Hi I’m so thankful for Moriah, she is such an empowering teacher.-Makayah
Emily Counsellor (PamperingPanda): Our school had Rooted Essence come in for a headwrap workshop and Moriah was an absolute joy to work with! She shared the background history and significance of headwrap in African and African American culture. Definitely recommend!
Fay Hinckley: Working with Miss Moriah was a transformative experience for me both physically and spiritually. Her work ethic and passion are contagious. She sees the potential and power in each on of her students and pushes them to fulfill it. As someone who loves dance but hasn't had extensive training, her style and drive inspired me to push myself to a level of artistry I didn't think was possible for someone like me. Her lessons and love continue to grow in me everyday. I would recommend her to any and all artists ready to uncover their "rooted essence".
Darius Taylor: This was the best dance experience of my life thus far. Moriah takes care of you while still pushing you to be the best you can be. I love her energy and the actual style of dance. It resonates so much with my values. I left my experience with new dance vocabulary that I am proud to own now. Everyone should take her classes!
