Wilderness Lake Campground & Resort: what do users think?
Krissy Proto: We just spent our entire summer at Wilderness Lake and loved every minute of it! Everyone there made us so comfortable and welcomed. The owners Doug and Holli were so helpful and friendly, the staff including Josh and Teddy were just awesome as well. A fun family vibe, clean and beautiful grounds!! We’ll be back!
Patrick McCarel: Staff.... especially Josh, was great! Campground was nice, tent sites are large and secluded. Lots of firewood for your money. Only one problem, the shower house is so far away from the tent sites we had to drive there. That's the only reason for four instead of five stars. Nice place to stay.
John Richard: It definitely is my home away from home! I’ve been coming here for years. My wife and I just absolutely love the area. And the camp store is very well stocked also!!
Terrance Burroughs: Very peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, easy access to amenities, plenty of space
Beverly Danser: Awesome campsites surrounding a beautiful 30 acre spring fed lake!! Swimming, kayaking, canoeing and hiking all make a most enjoyable time!! Amazing gift shop and excellent customer service!! Also pet friendly!!
Connie Palagi: First camping trip in my pop up trailer was last week at Wilderness Lake Campground. When we checked in the owner had no record of my deposit/VENMO payment and asked for all 3 nights in payment. When I mentioned I paid the deposit via VENMO he said "I guess I'll have to take your word for it."As we were checking in we purchased 3 bundles of firewood, one for each night. We received no firewood. When I asked for my money back on day 3 he readily handed me a $20 and later that day someone brought wood to our site. Rain storm to follow.Speaking of sites.....when we arrived we were shown to the most unlikely site for a pop up (reserved 2 months ago) which was slanted and ridiculous to back down into (in between two pine trees next to the lake drop off and a stone wall on the other side)He couldn't really help us and kept insisting we face the other way and keep our SUV connected the entire time. This would not have allowed us to leave the campground for 4 days and also face a stone wall/directly into the neighbors screenhouse. We sent him on his way and had to work it out ourselves, backing in and out and up and down for about 30 minutes until we got a little slanted spot to face the LAKE.When he returned later he asked "How did you get in there????"The lake is small but nice, there are some free kayaks and canoes and there are three showers and bathrooms in the Ladies Room. The sites in general seem to cater to just big RVs parked there forever.Nothing seems to be marked except SITE 16 which is where he crammed us.We met some nice neighbors and the latest gal pulling in was also hassled about where her spot was and where she should be set up. Something that could be solved with a SHARPIE.We couldn't get any ice because the camp store was closed most days.People trying to check in or pay for wood, etc. were SOL most of the time we were there. We had fun on our own but will not be returning and just for the record I am not normally a complainer or a wimpy camper. :)
Rizan Rafi: Excellent place for a short camping trip. Enjoyable experience. Especially the campsite we got - close to lake - with electric & water. Kids had a great time!
Danielle Ceder: We were planning on staying here for a week but we really liked this place so we ended up staying for a month and a half. We stayed for two weeks at the front, by the water and the park and there was a great Internet connection and then we moved further in and it was really peaceful and beautiful, we had our own private spot in nature. The Lake is amazing and usually warm to swim in, we’ve been traveling the East Coast and this is one of the nicest places we were at
Emilee Boulay: Had a great experience! This was our second time going and we had a wonderful time, enjoyed a nice walk around the lake, the kids loved the ice cream in the store, the lake was a blast and ended the nights with a nice fire and s’mores
Danielle Joorabchi: What an amazing place ! It’s our 1st time here and what a incredible staff! Josh meet us at the front and helped us into the site . He delivered wood for us and was so kind .The place is so clean , the beach area was great for the kids . The sites are so close together, but everyone was super friendly.Definitely coming back !
Bautista Carrillo: Everything was great, we are from Argentina and it was our first time doing a trip in an RV and coming to Wilderness Lake was the best part of our trip. The attention to detail from Josh was just amazing and the place itself is very beautiful. Even though they don’t have black water sewage on every site, they do have a main one were you can go and clean your tanks, but really the whole experience made up for it.
Donna Coko: A GEM! We had the best time... so good I didn't want to leave! Doug and Hollie (who we now consider friends), their kids and Josh, went above and beyond to make sure we and the other guests were comfortable and had a good time. Saturday night's beach party was a blast and we met so many nice people! We had a perfectly secluded tent site as we requested. The beach was beautiful and the entire place very well kept. Cannot WAIT! to go back.
Amy Gustavson: Wilderness seems like the ideal place for a seasonal spot. Transient campers, not so much. Although the online campground map shows many spaces, overnight campers were mushed into one tight area. Initially we were given a site that I had specifically requested to NOT be in....so maybe that's why we were given the tight site. The gentleman said he would look for another site, and to just pull into that spot for now but he never came back. so we hooked up. water pressure and quality was good and electric power consistent and strong. Lots of small debris around, candy wrappers, caps, cigarette butts so it must have been a busy time for them. When we checked in we were not given a map, so did not know of other options..and again were questioned about paying. I had sent a check 3 weeks prior..and the check had been cashed. we rec;d calls and questions requesting payment. I guess the system needs a bit of updating. The campground was quiet and the lakefront looked inviting. There was a nice patio behind the rec? event? hall...which looked like it could be a fun spot. There was a playground and horse shoe area...The dump station an easy drive up, but a very tight circle pulling away...We selected this campground in hopes of finding a place we could escape to every now and then..... but I think this would be best suited for the seasonal camper.
Joe F: Josh was super helpful after a mix-up with our campsite by trying to work with us and get us a site that would work for our needs. Most sights were a little tight together but did have a treeline between them. The campground itself is very large with winding trails to get to the different sights. If you have to pee in the middle of the night and don't want to use a porta potty you may have to drive back to the main office to use the only bathroom. This bathroom has running water and showers. The porta potty that was close to our sight was not emptied and was probably the worst part of our stay. On a positive note, the pond on the property was very nice and the campground provides free use of several canoes they own. All in all it was a good time!
O. Keith Hughes: It's under new ownership and still has the amenities we liked before as well as some new offerings.
Amanda Vega: this place saved my weekend and gave my family and i a wonderful experience the owner and everyone who worked camped and lived there were all very nice people! my family and i felt very welcomed and had a great stay with plenty of activities and a clean sight to enjoy it all . the bathrooms were well stocked with toilet paper and comfortable showers with a nice big mirror and there store offers free coffee . the owner has a friendly dog and made me feel very comfortable in coming back definitely will be coming back
Christine Braun: Wilderness lake is a beautiful campground.. Doug and his family are awesome people. Such a great family. We were visiting and we were very welcomed . Lots of activities are planned and the campers there are all friendly and kind
Aaron Jones: Awesome tent sites and a lot of RV spots. Quiet. Gorgeous views of the lake
Yennifer G. Ballesteros: Amazing!!

Northampton / Springfield KOA Holiday: what do users think?
Victoria Carrozza: The manager was extremely rude. We were unable to pull enough electricity on a 50 amp site to run one a/c and the microwave. We asked permission to run our generator to cook dinner. We had just arrived at 6 pm. 90°.We were told that if we wanted a refund, we had 15 minutes to get off the property! This was July 4th weekend! Avoid this place on holidays. Our windows faced directly into a cottage that was only feet away and occupied.Noteworthy details: Not big-rig friendly. Not well kept. Pool looked greenish.
Ed Chatterton: For a campground it is great. I also have many memories of this site from long agoService: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Terrie Newell: Had a great weekend. Fireworks were a bonus.
Gary P: I'm not a fan of KOA's, but this is a nice campground, especially if you have pets. We had a 10' x 10' kennel on our site that could house our dogs while we were in the RV. Also included was a grill and swing set to relax on. The sites were decently spaced apart. This is the only KOA I've ever stayed at that has these dog kennels on some sites. Definitely would stay here again!
Walter Kreppein, Jr.: We were given a pull thru site next to an old beat-up pickup truck filled with firewood. Not so attractive. Overall un-kept atmosphere.
Snehal B: Large camping area with many different types of sites. Power and water arrangement was good. The bathrooms were mostly clean but a water spill wasn’t cleaned for many hours. Also they are on a hill so walking up was difficult. No after hours support.
Heather: Friendly staff, the activities were right up there with awesome for our 6 year old!Firewood delivery was pretty sweet.Lower bathroom-clean, warm, modern.Upper bathroom in outdated but clean and functional. In season it’s probably SUPER busy but you’d expect that in the middle of summer at a place with a pool. The mini golf course is a lot worse for wear, could use some updating and TLC.We’ve never visited a KOA, this campground has set a bar.
Travis Dodson: We were looking for a campground this summer that wasn't too far from Six Flags and found this hidden gem! Our kids were busy with activities non-stop during our 4 day stay (spent 1 day at Six Flags). The activities were super engaging for our 9 and 11 year old and the staff was very friendly. We loved it so much that we changed up our usual fall/Halloween camping trip so we could return here. It did not disappoint! Our kiddos were up and out of the camper by 9:00am ready to start the adventures the staff had planned for the day. Sites are a good size, facilities are clean and the staff go above and beyond to ensure a great trip with lots of memories. We will definitely be returning for a summer trip and our new go-to Halloween weekend trip!
S W: We recently stayed at this KOA with some friends for a weekend. We were in a spot in the "Orchard" section. On the second day we started getting an electrical zap every time we used the handle to enter our camper. The same thing started happening to our friends. We contacted the office and had them come look at the electrical box. We were told they knew about the problem from issues through out the season. But they didn't know what the problem was. The employee told us it wasn't enough volts to hurt anyone. And that was it. It's disappointing they would gladly take my money for a weekend, knowing there was a problem with our site. We had 4 children with us who also got hit with electrical current trying to get in to the campers. There was complete and total indifferece on the part of the KOA.
Robin Hess: First time staying here. Only 20 mins from home. Tent site was a lot smaller than I expected. We had two tents & two vehicles. It all ended up working out. Yellow jackets were bad at our site. Didn't see any at the bathroom or the walk to & from. Tent sites were very close together. Thankfully we were mostly alone in our area. If it had been at full capacity in our area, I doubt i would've enjoyed it as much. Bathrooms were clean, nice hot showers. There was a pool, playground & mini golf ⛳ Never got a chance to do either, as we went to the Cummington fair over the time we stayed here. The second night there was one tent site next street over that was loud till almost 1am. Wasn't a fan of that. Trash can, fire pit, grill & picnic table all available on site. As well as running water & a light. Besides getting rained out & deciding to go home early we had fun & would book here again🏕️
Maria Vega: Lo mejor de lo mejor.. Nos encanta ir , mi famila pasa un excelente momento en este lugar..
Brenda Amo: Cabins could use a better cleaning, and repairs as needed... AC filter was filthy and (Broken window blinds).... I recommend weekly through inspection and cleaning! 😳P.S. most important: Get rid of the mattresses! 😷
John Burkhart: A very low average KOA. You have to pay for wifi. Okay for an overnight but don't recommend for longer. All the employees are very nice and helpful.
Timothy Pittman: We have stayed here several times and it is always a great time with a lot to do and clean and quiet sites.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Stephen Gudek: Like it
Rebecca Holeman: Pretty clean, nice place, and I'd probably give it 4 or 5 stars, but the ROOSTERS in the morning were AWFUL!!! 😵‍💫 They started crowing at 4 a.m. and did NOT stop! I can't understand why the owners would choose to have roosters on the property.
Joellene Calvanese: What an amazing experience want to give a big shout out to Jason and his wife who run the activities and the concession you guys are amazing thank you for making sure my daughter had coins what a great camping experience had a beautiful swim in the pool had a beautiful sight met wonderful people couldn't have asked for a better time big shout out again to Jason and his family for making our time so much that more fun!
Tina Bariteau: Lots to do at this KOA, kids had a blast!
