International Language Institute of Massachusetts: what do users think?
sigma 14: Good, but he tends to learn conversation more than writing or reading. Also, the standards are low..their prices are very high compared to the prices of other institutes in the rest of the states..the teachers are nice.
Ryan Boeding: ILI helped me find a language school in Spain this year. The school in studied at in Spain was exactly what I was looking for this year!! I am a French teacher who wanted to start learning Spanish and hopefully teach it! I feel it was a great place to get started to do that, I think I accomplished what I wanted to! Malaga is such a beautiful fun city with so many great restaurants, museums, and of course the beach!
Janna Ugone: ILI is a terrific learning model! It made learning a new language less complicated and more fun. Our instructor was excellent!
Jeff Palm: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have taken a couple of different Spanish courses with ILI and each time the instructors were wonderful and engaging. I'll be back for more!
Jessica Jones: I signed up for a French class after majoring in it over 15 years ago in college. I rarely use it but missed it terribly and suddenly felt an urge to brush up. I have Sabine as a teacher and she is simply sensational. She is welcoming of mistakes and doesn't chastise anyone's faults. She teaches in a way that makes you want to do your best rather than feeling obligated to. She is able to identify, even in an online setting, when someone may need more time with a concept. Had she been my professor in college, I likely would have tried harder than I did - she brings that out in people. She's just wonderful. Everyone I've encountered at the ILI is amazing and I just can't say enough about the people and the work they do.
Sarah Schmidt: I have had the great privilege of being an instructor at ILI, and now also experiencing the classroom as a student! I decided to take the Spanish classes as I've always wanted to improve my language skills, and I'm so glad I did. We have a great community in our classroom. The students and instructor create a safe space where we can practice speaking without feeling nervous, and the activities are fun and engaging. If you are thinking about taking a class, do it! It's so worth it.
Thomas Butler: I have been taking classes and doing volunteer tutoring for English learners for ten years at ILIt the teachers and leadership do a great job. I am a life long learner o Spanish since 2011 and cannot thank them enoughThomas Butler
Amy Kahn: Positive:QualityI have taken many Spanish clases over 10 years and have really improved my fluency. The teachers are friendly and skilled, and the classes are fun while being rigorous. I highly recommend ILI grammar and conversation classes.
Sarahi Gutierrez Toledo: Alguien sabe como puedo obtener información sobre la escuela?
Mandie Huerta: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueILI is great! I have been learning French on and off for a few years with them and they are so patient when you are struggling. I plan to learn Spanish next.
Kath E: studied Spanish through my company - their classes make learning fun, and provide excellent resources and activities. brilliant and positive teachers
Richard Bradford: I studied German with ILI via a live online german conversation class. The classes were great, and everyone was super friendly. Because they're so interested in you as a person, it can't help but boost your self-confidence, and that is critical when it comes to speaking a language. I'm hoping to join the next course and keep going. Thanks Linda and Heather.
Sarah Ovenden: Just finished a wonderful one-week beginning level Spanish language intensive. The things I loved:- The intensive format is a perfect format for those of us who have full-time parenting or work commitments.- Our teacher, Maureen was able to suss out our individual learning styles and challenges very quickly and provide us with the appropriate level of support and challenge.- The conversational, back-and-forth style really helped cement the material in my brain.- Very supportive and encouraging teaching style. While I still have a long way to go to reach the level of proficiency I aspire to, I feel like I got a solid foundation in HOW to approach learning the language, and the confidence to continue studying.
Persaram Batra: Great teachers, interesting and creative classes. Highly recommended.
Lawrence Hott: ILI has literally changed my life, much for the better. I started taking beginners Spanish there fifteen years ago. That lead to an intercambio (language exchange), which lead to lifelong friendships with a Columbian woman and a Salvadoran family. I've also been able to travel and work in Spanish-speaking countries, where, due to the confidence I gained at ILI, I am able to make presentations in Spanish and converse with local workshop participants. I still take classes at ILI, which helps me improve my skills and meet new people. I've never had a class at ILI where we didn't laugh and share stories and thoroughly enjoy ourselves.
Jenny Podel: I have taken two classes at ili. Both of which I enjoyed greatly! I learned Spanish along with new teaching ideas to bring into my own classroom. I highly recommend taking classes here. The teachers are welcoming and encouraging.
Ed O'Connell: I'm in the middle of taking my third class at ILI, and I can't say enough good things about it. I was a terrible language student in high school and am still kind of amazed I am saying these things. But the classes are engaging and FUN. The instructors I've had have been very skilled and excellent at working with students at different levels. I'm kind of startled by how much I've been able to learn. What I have liked the most about it is that right from the start we were encouraged to try to speak in the target language. It can feel a bit like a demolition derby at times, with students with very different strengths and weaknesses trying their best to communicate, but I mean that in the best possible way. Everyone learns from everyone else. In all likelihood the last language class you took was not like this. I would encourage anyone to give it a try. It's worth it.
Danaë DiNicola: What a gem, right here in Western MA! A great school with friendly teachers and staff.
Tom Wick: Teachers there are fantastic. I can improve my English efficiently.
Wayne Boisselle: I took the beginner intensive Spanish course with my wife. We had Beth as a teacher and eight people in the class. It was a fantastic experience. Beth and my classmates were very supportive even though I was way out of my comfort zone and league. Beth made learning relative and fun. The class also fit into our busy schedules. Thank you, ILI!!
Kristina Kisiel: My 15-year old son and I recently took a weeklong intensive Spanish class for Elementary-level students. It was a wonderful week and we both finished feeling that our Spanish-speaking skills and our understanding of vocabulary and grammar were improved. Our instructor, Samira, used various teaching methods to enable our understanding.
