Jake Dressler: Very good schnitzel. Never had sauerkraut before... or authentic sauerkraut at least ... eh, it was weird to me. It's just like a tangy mushy concoction. Brussel sprouts were good. And the fried cheese was good too. Atmosphere is cool. The booths like push you towards the food which is very uncomfortable so we sat at the bar.
Maggot McDermot: Crispy brussel sprouts are delicious. King cut prime rib is where the beef is!Seared scallops over risotto with lemon beurre Blanc sauce dinner special. Excellent beer and wine list. Valet on point.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, Family environment or first date, anniversary, holiday, brunch, any day friendlyParking: Valet is awesome!
Christine Brassil: Omg. Easter dinner was awful. Booked our reservation for 3:30 without telling us they close at 4. We were there only 30 min before the shut down the buffet. We were there less than one hour total. Cold food and not enough to feed my party of 10. $ 450.00 thrown away. They should review their practices or shut down. Awful!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Terrible. Lack of accessibility
Mike Perry: Booked our family's Easter dinner. They put us in for 330. They closed at 4. Buffet was out of things. They weren't refilling. Stereo flames went out so many items were cold. Staff was packing lunches for themselves while we were trying to get food. Overall a thoroughly unrelaxing and horrible dining experience for$48 a head. Over $500 for a bunch of cold leftovers. They should be ashamed of themselves. Why on earth would they book us 30 mins before closing.

Mal C: After reading all these reviews, I was very excited to bring my family to this place .We were visiting from NY. I will give 3 starts because of the interior, otherwise 1 star is more than enough. It was very nicely decorated with a lot of authentic German beer mugs and art on the walls, and it was very clean. The service was terrible though. The waitress came to take an order, my daughter was hesitating so she said she would come back and then she just forgot about us. After almost 20 minutes she came back , took an order and offered a bread while we were waiting. However, that bread never made it to our table until after we reminded in a while. The bread was served cold. Even diners warm it up for you. Into 10 min of waiting another waitress came back to tell us the food, my husband ordered, was only served on Fridays. I guess our weitress didn't know when she was accepting the order. The menu stated a lot of vegetarian substitutes but nothing was really available. Potato pancakes and chicken fingers came overfried, they charge $3.5 for one jumbo shrimp which is actually a size of a small shrimp, their garden salad was just a spring mix with a few radish pieces and 2 cherry tomatos. This place is definitely on our NEVER again list
Natalia Roseff: The service couldn’t have been nicer. Food is authentic and delicious. I would rate it more stars if I could

Robert Gates: I have been a loyal Student Prince customer for 40 years, it pains me to write something negative. Yesterday my wife and I stopped for a quick snack and beverage. I ordered an Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve, I was charged $24. To say the price was shocking does not cover it. We go to a variety of good restaurants but have never been so over charged.

Silvia's Thompsonville Cafe: what do users think?
Ramona Floyd: We were so lucky to happen upon this gem of a restaurant! On our way further upstate, we saw this sweet little restaurant was open and served salads, so we took a chance. We're so glad we did!The salad was so fresh and nutritious, and the balsamic dressing was on point. A nice variety of fresh homemade bread was served warm. Silvia herself presented us with an unbelievable Ukrainian cabbage soup. I’d include a photo, but it was gone before I could take one. The Polish Falcon Melt was the best kielbasa I’ve ever had (very light and sweet)…also on fresh homemade bread. The pirogues (we had cabbage and cheese) were perfectly seasoned and so yummy. We tried the homemade lemonade and it was so sweet and delicious.Everything is fresh and it’s amazingly light for such filling food. The portions are generous, so we got to enjoy the leftovers even more later in the day.Highly recommend this sweet little place, like eating in the kitchen of your favorite aunt. The prices are fair and there appears to be space for special occasions, so check that out as well. Silvia was an attentive hostess and really made us feel at home. Totally worth a special trip—we’ll be back for sure. Check it out!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pastas and salads.
James Doten: More delicious food than you can imagine! You'll feel like you've been transported to Europe... WOW!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Homemade Bread, Romanian, Mixed Green Salad with Balsamic Dressing …More
Gail Ginsberg: This place is amazing, from the drinks, bread and the food. I have never been more pleased with a restaurant. You need to try this gem. You get so much for your buck.Absolutely fantastic food and service.Try it as soon as possible. Amazing!!!!Vegetarian options: She had pasta dishes that are amazing
Allie Kraushaar: Feels like home. Amazing food, great prices, and home feeling vibes. Love this place! Recommended for everyone!!
Jane Kelly: Love, love, love the food here. I had the stuffed cabbage and Romanian holiday. We were also served this heavenly bread that was still warm out of the oven. The stuffed cabbage’s filling was absolutely wonderful, and so was the Romanian holiday. I especially liked the porkchops, which were moist and tender. The dessert was this sweet chocolate cake with a ricotta topping to die for. Silvia was incredibly attentive and an outstanding and caring hostess. Although it was our first time, we’re definitely coming back (next time, with a crowd!) If you want an immersive experience with European food, this is the place to go.
Rodrigo S: Extra large servings. Serving full course flavourful meal at very reasonable prices! Will definitely be back for more!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Homemade Bread, Romanian, Pork Medallion, Lamb Stroganoff, Lamb Srtogonaugh with Stuffed Peppers, Romanian Farmer's Soup …More

Leslie Hornberger: Awesome totally awesome!!! Food was excellent and homemade. Silvia and the chef are absolutely the best. When you go make sure you are very hungry and wear comfortable pants. The portions are huge!!! Definitely a must go!!!
Ray Divine: We stumbled in from the brutal cold and were greeted with the warmest welcome and ushered to the coziest table.Silvia and her chef pour their hearts into this place and then serve it on a plate. Her banter is like your favorite grandmother, and if you're ever on her corner, don't hesitate to visit. The food was perfection. 10/10
Christine O: Oh my goodness. My fiance and I went here for the first time tonight. I was brought back to my childhood. The food is wonderful! It is authentic! I absolutely loved the richness of tradition! Sylvia, you are a treasure for sure! We will most definitely be back!
V Singh: If you go here it is good food not fast food. The dishes are very well seasoned, the bread is fresh and the salad is well put together. As long as you have the time and not in a rush you'll get a great plateFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Joanne Perman: Had a wonderful lunch at Sylvia’s! Amazing chicken based soup served to my friend and I in a soup tureen to share. Elegant place settings and silver. We had a turkey sandwich and a eggplant parm sandwich. Lots of special touches to make these a step above what we expected! A new location so come show your support to this small business!
Hanan Khan: Great Handmade Cooked meals. Nice services 😊 and you get to meet Silvia her self. Enjoy a a cozy atmosphere too 🤩Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Fahad Khan: Excellent homemade meals. You must try the lamb here. Best crabcake we ever had.
Gilbert Helou: Great good, great Service, huge portions. Best of the best!!!
Kate Zien: Our group of 7 friends came for dinner on a Wednesday night. We called ahead to make a reservation and I would recommend doing the same if you have more than 3 or 4 people. We had a wonderful meal. The bread at the beginning of the meal could feed a small army and was SO DELICIOUS. We all ate our fill and all got to take some home. Silvia told us the good cuts of meat she had in the kitchen before we ordered. The meal size is unbelievable, each plate could easily serve 2 which was awesome because we all had leftovers to take home. Everything was so yummy and we enjoyed our experience tremendously. I would absolutely recommend eating at Silvia's if you want to have a truly home-cooked meal. This is not fast food, so come with your friends and take the opportunity to catch up and enjoy a wonderful meal.
Dan Driving the White Van: Quiant and comfortable cafe. The fish and chips was under done. But it was the owner greeting guests and cooking the food.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Rosemary Volage: Super nice people! The Chef kept appearing and visiting each table making sure all was great. Her staff was equally supportive and friendly. I would not hesitate to visit again and will refer this restaurant to friends and familyParking: There is a parking lot across the street however it appeared to be for residents in building and a sticker on car was needed. If no sticker car will be towed per signs posted. On street could not find spaces for handicap parking
