Amber Bolaske: Food was delicious & our Chef was AMAZING, however our server was beyond rude. It was my son’s birthday & all of our first time having Hibachi & she definitely ruined the experience for us.

Ordered calamari appetizer many 5-8 small pieces of calamari tasted fishy. Added gratuity in check for only 3 people. Waitress very nice, place clean. Manager kinda rude when told about salmon. “Oh you don’t want it well done?” Salmon No. will not go back.

Anita Cross: We have been going there since 2014 for my daughters birthday every year because hibachi is her absolute favorite. We have noticed that every year(the service) seems to be getting worse but have stayed loyal because it is very close to us and the food has always been good. Tonight the service was the worst we have ever had. We had a reservation for 7 and arrived early. We were sat and waited for a waitress. The waitress seemed very annoyed to even be there. A couple of us ordered drinks and the other people at the table were trying to ask but she walked away. She came back and was very rude and not attentive at all. No one was asked if they would like another drink so I had to go ask for someone to come and serve us and the other people who were not even with us. The cook came and did an excellent job but the waitress was no where to be found! Finally dinner was over and I had to find the waitress to ask her for a desert for my daughter.The waitress came we sang happy birthday and not 5 minutes later the manager told us that she was sorry but we had to leave because they had to seat other people! I had already paid and left a 20% tip(that I wish I hadn’t)We spent over 400 . I spoke to the manager trying to explain how rude that was and she basically could have cared less. Our reservation was for 6 and at 720 we were told we needed to go so they could seat othersWe will never go there again! Had they had adequate service we would have been in and out like they want!! Awful!

kayhrly3: I was blown away by how rude the main server was to our party. Everyone in our party of 14, including two 8 year old girls, noticed how bad of an attitude this woman had with us. Started right from the beginning with the drink orders. Just very short, not friendly, and you could feel her irritation with us. Then she asked us if we were splitting the check and we replied yes. She actually ROLLED her eyes, SCOFFED, and said, "well how are we going to do this!?" This was said in the most rude tone that I have ever come across in any type of customer service experience in my life. My whole party was looking around at each other, wondering what was going on. After she brought out the drinks, she like tossed the straws at us and took some of the drink menus and slammed them down into a caddy. It was so aggressive and had all of us on edge. When my 13 year old son went to order from the kids menu, she questioned his age, as we didn't realize it was for 10 and under, and she was so hostile towards him about it and he didn't even know what was going on. He told her his age and she said, "13?! No you get regular size!" I snapped back at this point and told her to give him the hibachi sides then because he didn't need a whole adult meal, as he doesn't eat half the things that come with it. Luckily the chefs and the other wait staff were very pleasant but we wanted to leave after being treated that way at the start. It was so uncomfortable and put a little damper on the reason we were there, which was to celebrate 2 birthdays. Food was decent but really not worth the price. Nothing special really. I would not go back and will not be recommending this place at all.

Alarea Dickinson: This place was not very welcoming at all. I had reserved a large group to be there and a few people were arriving late. The manager herself was having an issue with this and became very hostile towards me. She began raising her voice at me stating we need to have everyone present and that there were no exceptions. We then accepted her decision although not happy about it and when we began to sit at our table designated by her the manager, she began telling us where to sit and then began moving my coworkers belonging without her permission. After that she then told us that we could sit where we want and when I asked for clarification she began raising her voice at our whole party. She then made negative comments in regard to us being teachers so we then asked to speak to a different manager and the waitress then laughed at my face. Needless to say we left. Beware going here if you have a big group.

Ravan East: After having the shrimp tempura. I IMMEDIATELY got ill and had to vomit in the bathroom. The manager was horrible. She insulted me and tried to blame me by claiming that it was somehow my fault. There was no apology or empathy. Please do not go to this restaurant! You will get sick, they will not care and charge you extra!

Ramona East: This is a terrible restaurant with bad customer service. Please do not spend your time or money here! The food is undercooked and causes food poisoning. Stay away!!

Michael Madsen: This place is fantastic. Just Hidden Gem is found in a Plaza in springfield. They have Top Notch hibachi and the service is very good. I would definitely make a reservation because they fill up very quickly. Autumn Hines: This is normally my go to Japanese spot but I don’t think I’ll order from here again. I fully understand that food cost are rising which is reflected in the pricing but giving less food while charging more just doesn’t sit right with me. I got the Ichiban Salad as normal, but it was prepared very cheaply, less than half the amount of crab/mango/cucumber shreds and instead mixed in with a spring salad mix. Never have I ever seen it prepared this way, very disappointing. I tried something new, to me at least; the yakitori chicken. To be displeasure, it was far from grilled chicken, it was more like dehydrated, again, very unpleasant. The chicken on its own had no flavor and the peanut sauce that accompanied it was super sweet. Overall, I am not happy with this experience and will look into finding a new, more reliable and worthwhile option.

Ian Hathaway: The first thing I love about this place is the staff. A friendly group of real down-to-earth people keep this place running smoothly and make every visit feel like I’m coming home from a long trip in which I have experienced multiple flight delays and unwanted layovers until finally a breath of fresh friendliness fills my lungs as I saddle up to the bar. The second thing I love is the food. The recently expanded sushi menu provides all the delicious flavors I crave when cylindrical food is on my mind. And who asked for a low-cost ramen option when getting over the hardest day of the week? NO-ONE! We were all too scared! But they knew what we were thinking and provided their Monday special without even a second thought. The third thing I love is the drinks. While I’m mostly a beer drinker, my wife enjoys their delicious mixed drinks crafted with care and kindness which melt away those thoughts and aforementioned flight delays. The fourth thing I love is that when we come to play cards at the bar, the lighting makes the cards a funny color, and who doesn’t love fun new playing card fluorescence?!

Kye Gaskins: DISGUSTING! Noodles (or the one noodle I vomited back up) tasted like the were undercooked sometime YESTERDAY, sat overnight at room temperature, then reheated this afternoon. Undercooked seafood to bat with a take out that smothered my passenger seat with some kinda generic sweet and sour hibachi sauce bc they clearly don't understand how to check the container and paperbag they put it in. I only had the soup, threw out the entire entree. I advise caution when spending your money here.

anastasiya gavel: I ordered a special roll and a hand roll. the hand roll tasted and smelt like vinegar. My sister has gotten sushi from them and it was good. but both of mine were not. I couldn’t even eat my special roll. I ordered it online and put down no avocado because I am allergic. My special roll came with avocado so i had to throw that one away. The hand roll wasn’t tasty at all so i also had to throw that away. The soup and salad was very good.

Colby Gallagher: Have been here many times, food is usually good and service tends to be fair. They last two times I went the service was markedly worse. Had reservations for a very early dinner at hibachi - the restaurant was essentially empty and they would not seat me until my entire party was present. I would have gotten a drink and an appetizer had they sat me. My party consisted of 4 adults a 7 year old and a1 year old- we sat at a hibachi table. Since we had a six person party they insisted we order 4 hibachi meals, one of the adults has a gluten allergy so she ordered sushi- this did not count as a meal we had to order an extra meal for my one year old. Our server was very unpleasant and messed up my order. I have always like the sushi but the service has never been great and is consistently declining. I will not be returning.
