Martin Waite: I highly recommend Byron Keenan Funeral Home. They have provided services for my husband's family for more than 40 years.When my husband and I started thinking about the inevitable 5 years ago, after purchasing a plot in a historic cemetery where his ancestors are buried we called upon Byron Keenan for funeral pre-planning. Terry was extremely professional, guiding us through selecting everything from the services required, casket and burial. He even checked with the cemetery to be sure of any requirements they might have.We were living in Washington state when my husband died recently. Terry was the second call I made after we found he had passed during the night. Terry took control of everything immediately, despite it being Easter Saturday; he persevered in finding a local funeral home to pick up his body in short order and handle all the necessary arrangements, required paperwork and transportation back to Springfield. Once back in Springfield, Terry and his staff again handled every detail of the burial in a efficient, caring and professional manner.Byron Keenan and Terry Mullins, especially, exceeded my expectations.
Mackenzie Porter: I have worked with Terry Mullins on three different occasions- the most recent was when my dad passed away on 3/21/23. Terry was extremely accommodating and made the whole process as smooth and stress free as can be. He was extremely easy to get in touch with and answered all of my questions. Terry and his staff did an amazing job personalizing the funeral services and created a playlist with my dad's favorite music. I can't thank the staff at Byron Keenan for everything they have done for my family these last few weeks.

Diana Hurst: My family and I used Bryon Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center for our mothers home going service.Because, the majority of our family lived out of state, we needed to find a Funeral Home that would be able to give us the date needed for everyone to attend.I contacted the Funeral Director Terry Mullins and he was able to accommodate us with the date we asked for.Our family had questions regarding what type of service would be best for our mom. Terry gave us his honest and professional opinion in terms of which service he recommended.Our family trusted Terry's opinion because of his warm spirit, kindness and his compassion. In addition, because our family lived out of state Terry made the planning process easy for us by helping us with the paperwork via email and remaining in contact with us at all times.The Funeral Home was beautiful inside with a calming ambience along with the sounds of the waterfalls.On the day of the service the staff showed great professional during a very difficult time for us.I highly recommend Byron Keenan Funeral Home for anyone looking to have a service for a loved one.Thank you for your wonderful service.

Unfortunately, funeral homes are not created equal. Sadly, we learned that after moving my mother’s body from another funeral home to Byron Keenan. They came to our rescue after we went through a hellish experience with that funeral home.From the moment we spoke with Terry, he went above and beyond to assist us. Beginning with handling my mother’s body with respect and dignity, treating us with kindness, showing authentic sincerity, transparency about the funeral service costs, professionalism, and providing excellent customer service. Terry took care of every single detail which took off pressure as we grieved the loss of our mother.I am forever indebted to Byron Keenan’s staff and specifically Terry for making my mother’s funeral service one that honored her 90 years on this earth and made wonderful lasting memories for my family! The staff is warm and welcoming to all who enter through the doors. Whether it is to plan a well-orchestrated service, Liturgy of Christian Burial, or as a guest attending the waking hours, everyone is greeted with compassion. Undoubtedly, the passing of those we love is the most difficult experience we need to embrace in life. The staff of this funeral home eases the entire process of bidding farewell. The facility on Allen Street in Springfield is meticulously maintained with a bright and warm environment. There is plenty of ample parking located in the back of the building. My family and extended family has employed the services of Byron/Keenan in the past and would not hesitate to call upon them again.
Glenn Case: On 11/2/2022, my dad passed away. One hardest days of my life. I contacted Terry Mullins a staff member at Bryons around end of September 2022. I asked if he could meet with my dad and stepmom to set-up burial arrangements for the both of them. Terry said he would go with me to their house to meet with them. When they met Terry, he made them so at ease about talking about their burials. This is the kind of person Terry is, top-notch. This is the way the entire staff are there. I met Sue Kennan a couple of years ago when she helped me set my mom's pre burial arrangements. My mom's side of my family (4) had their funerals there. I am having mine there too.My dad's wasn't a a large funeral but it was perfect for him. Terry, Sue and the entire staff at Bryons made his funeral perfect. When you have to get a funeral home for yourself or family, Bryons in my book are the best in the area. His request was to be buried as quickly as possible. I am thankful to say Terry was able to line up a military funeral for the next day at 11:00. It meant the world to us to hear Taps played at the cemetery. Unfortunately earlier this year my brother died unexpectedly. I called Byron's and they handled all of the arrangements. From first contact through follow up, everyone to whom I've spoken has been professional and compassionate. For example, they worked with me to draft and edit the obituary, and they provided a reasonable and accurate estimate of the total costs. On the morning of the service at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, we arrived early but Forastiere representatives were already present to direct and assist us from start to finish. I can offer only praise and appreciation for their good work.

Maryanne Bernini Caughlin: My husband had cancer for over eight years, so we had plenty of time to talk and plan. Over our 40 years together, we always celebrated and marked occasions very simply. We chose to celebrate with friends and family over good food and with lots of conversation, laughs and sharing. Making good memories. When Jerry died I wanted to honor how we had always done things. We had discussed having a simple process when either of us died, showing the love and respect we held for each other during our lives. Forastiere provided this for me. They treated me with respect, demonstrating a caring support for all my decisions. I felt that not only was I cared for, but that my husband was being cared for with the dignity and respect I wanted. They allowed us to be able to do a simple cremation, get his ashes and then on our own hold a wonderful memorial, celebrating his life as we always had with family and friends. I had my initial meeting with Loren when my husband went into hospice. She provided me with the ability to know what I had hoped for was possible and gave me the information I needed to plan exactly how we wanted things to proceed. When Jerry died and my daughters and I met with Brian we already had all that decided and it was just finishing the final details. Loren and Brian offered us caring, professional support which allowed my daughters and I to go through this very painful experience feeling like someone was looking out for us and ensuring things went smoothly according to the plans we had set out. I would highly recommend this funeral home to anyone. We could not have asked for any more.

Brianna B (Bri): Funeral was 9/17/2018. I really liked how they let me identify my father at their funeral home instead of the medical examiner. They knew we needed to see him and they did that free for us. Even put makeup on him to look like him for free for just us. They did wonderful with the flowers and what I said to put together. The prayer cards and prayers were good as well.Don't think viewing a person before cremation or burial should be charged during the actual funeral. The broken and shocked look people give when they see just the urn, and not the loved one there for their last view of him is absolutely broke my heart and cannot forget it. I remember it to this day.(I'm sorry family&friends)One other wrong thing they did is publish our obituary for my dad with a huge spelling/punctuation error in the newspaper and on the websites everywhere. That error made us look like we didn't care.Also the picture we gave them, came out horrible when they put it on the obituary.As professionals they should of suggested a new picture. Especially since they had all our pictures for the slide show. Didn't get to choose the music for that either.They need someone who is more tech-savvy than whoever is the one that was doing all the editing in 2019.The priest/spiritual guider was whacky and did not stay on task of my father. Kept referring back to herself and her stories. We wanted to put him to rest the right way, and her words weren't right at all. Guess we needed a real priest.I still will say thank you to the funeral home. I still respect the funeral home. I just wish they would explain the jewelry part for the ashes and thumbprint, and how to get them after the funeral, because it's a hassle after. Also wish they did their homework with the editing.Thanks.

Umm Saddaqah: Henderson's handled my mom's funeral during the summer. Paulette didn't communicate information to my stepfather in a timely manner. She had the family stressed out at the last minute saying we had to pay an additional fee upfront for live streaming when it was requested from the start of planning. Then she had the nerve to talk for about 20 minutes during the funeral to hand over the afghan. That was totally unnecessary and unwanted. She was no family friend, but she kept touching my stepfather and acting like they were close. What is that? Plus, that powder blue shimmery suit looking like she was going to perform at the Grammy's was inappropriate. The funeral director is not the star of the show, stay in the background and just do your job.
Jailene delgado: Lady who runs it seems like she’s only about business. Doesn’t really have sympathy for the people having a loss. It is a nice place but the energy just isn’t right. Did not feel like open arms. There are better places that will work with you and have consideration for you while dealing with a loss. We understand business is business but to work as a director in a funeral home you need to atleast be nice to the people asking for your services!

Rhonda Latney: Alberta "Dolly" Howard died on 2/5/2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Alberta's body was in limbo at Henderson's for 130 days. On 6/10/22 a fraudulent Certificate of Death was made without a Burial Permit in place, the incorrect address, and fraudulent identity of the next of kin. Only 5 people attended the burial of the well known Alberta and no public obituary was posted.

Edmund Janas: Many in our family have used this funeral home. But my Brother died at a halfway home in Worcester end of December and on January 3rd, I spoke to Ronald and asked if I could see a photo because my brother who was doing arrangements made no effort to communicate with family and I wanted to ID my brothers remains. I was told someone would contact me back. Here it is weeks later and no follow-up call. I called two days ago and was told I would be contacted back and was not. I will be reporting this to the state. I wouldn't let them bury a family toenail.

I picked Harrell's based on the compassion I heard in Ron's voice. Boy, was I grateful for listening to my gut. I met with Ron and realized I made the right decision. He is kind, compassionate, and is in this business for the right reasons, to offer his support and knowledge to families at their most vulnerable time. We talk, he asked me questions about my thoughts for mom and together we had a plan that was exactly what my mom's would have wanted. If there is any golden moment during these times, for me, it was Ron. Knowing all my wishes were met, and that I was treated was kindness and respect, I left there knowing mom's remains were in Ron's hand, and that gave me peace of mind. Thank you Ron.... Luz Flores: First time coming here because my grandpa pass away. They was really good and polite and they gave everyone water.
Christia Daliana: This funeral home is tricky. They lack costumer care skills. I do not believe they have the appropriate artistic skills to prepare a body, specially one with no superficial injuries and human skills to deal with the grieving families. In future events I'll skip them all together. It is nice that they are Spanish speaking, making easier to non-English speakers to deal with but there must be better options out there. Even in death people people deserve the best. They are not it.
ERIKA WATSON: Unprofessional. Late posted obituary. Then told the deceased's immediate family to arrive at a specific time, then made them wait in their cars for an additional 30 minutes after rudely closing the door in their face saying they could not enter. I have never witnessed such appalling unprofessionalism at an establishment that should be offering their clientele compassion in their time of grief. I'd give ZERO stars if it were an option.
Jeannette Smith: Unfortunately, we had three huge losses in our lives in a short amount of time. We chose Puerta Del Cielo for all of their services and we are eternally grateful. Extremely professional staff and they take great care of you. I highly recommend them to handle services for any of your loved ones. Bat Man: Overcharges and preys on people in there time of need. 1700 more then other funeral homes. For same exact funeral. And the funeral director is basically a used car salesman working at a funeral home. Super unprofessional. Cares only about your money. Nothing about the family in need. I get it u have to have a tough shell to work at a funeral home but trust me ..guy will treat you like hes selling you a used car.
