Baystate Children's Specialty Center: what do users think?
Jennifer: My child liked it too much. He keeps asking to go back, not exaggerating.
Jessica Romani: This place is wonderful. They are super nice, helpful, wonderful with kids. It's really nice in there. It's everything a doctor's office for kids should be.
Chelsea Matteson: Nothing but great things to say about this office. We were in to see the specialist quickly and every staff member was awesome with our son. I especially loved that they didn't talk down to him at all even though he's 5. He understands everything from the visit and the wonderful phlebotomist from the lab even gave him a special gift because his birthday was yesterday. We left feeling confident in the medical staff and his treatment plan.
J. Rodriguez: Great all around! They were able to diagnose my son and pin point his exact conditions and refer him to the right treatment!
Kayla Kenney: The building itself is so beautiful and clean ! And the staff that we had the pleasure of getting today was wonderful. Especially a nurse practitioner that goes by nurse Kat !! They were friendly and my daughter (who hates doctors) warmed up to them all. Feeling blessed! Best crew we’ve had
Stephanie W: Very good with kids

Shriners Children's New England: what do users think?
Maynard Anken: I/we brought my/our son, Asher to Schriners/MA last week after having a strokelike event that caused him to have left side paralysisEveryone from the doctor, therapists, nurses, clerical, recrational, and every other staff member was soo comforting, hospitable, professional, and helpful!thank you so much for helping my/our son!
Greg H: I get a kick out of Alec in commercial. He's going to northwestern???...for free, he got a better life than me. Why should I donate my hard earned money?? So he can continue to get a free, much better life than myself???....no. don't think so
Hick Hunter: First thing coming to my mind seeing "Alec" boasting about 18 surgeries, I think what the atmospheric costs on just 1 individual have been, and how many others could have been helped if funds were diverted elsewhere...the icing on the cake is seeing him going to northwestern... which costs over $60 k each year to attend...I won't donate a penny, because I NEVER received welfare such as this person has...yet Shriners still tries to shove their donation pitch down our throats with all of their commercials...only ones I feel sorry for are the donators who have seen their own children go to less prestigious colleges...while Alec is given special treatment...the Germans had special treatment during WW2...fortunate for ALEC he didn't have to face it...
Donna Oday: I'm a former patient from Springfield Massachusetts Shriners hospital, and have scoliosis, and arthritis in my back. There is no cure for that
Kim Amlaw: Edit.... Since my original bad review, I had a nurse from palliative care call and speak to Shriners. Then I recieved a phone call from management who apologized and explained there was a severe miscommunication over this. Shriners was under the impression from our dr referral that we wanted surgery. That is not the case. They have agreed to do a consult with my daughter and hopefully give her the help she so desperately needs.Original post.....My daughter has a severe curvature to her spine which is causing difficulties with her internal organs. She needs a back brace but Shriners said, "we will not see her due to her complexities. We will refer her to boston childrens." They didn't even try. Just refused to see her. I tried reasoning with them but was shot down. I am extremely disappointed as my daughter will not survive a surgery (which is what Boston childrens would do). I feel like they could have least seen her before deciding they wont help her.
Roger C: Very professional and respectful they made my son feel very comfortable and at ease
scott masaitis: Great place for kids
Helena Ziemooreq: So excited they care ,❤️treat.
Maeve Bidonde: I went here about 2 years ago and have a follow up soon and the staff who were caring for me at my appointment were amazing and explained how things worked and explained what the plan was to us and made it comprehensible to us. The staff also had a sense of humor and I myself loved that as I am sarcastic with a huge sense of humor. Overall great experience.
Eric Brown: My daughter had foot surgery with an overnight and the staff was incredible! They were super attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work, Shriners!
John McIntyre: Shriner's just does it right. After having a less than stellar experience at our local orthopedics practice, because they said they had a pediatric specialist and they did not. This was three years ago when my daughter was three and we and her primary physician had concerns about a leg length discrepancy and knock knees, we came to Shriner's. We returned last week for a follow up. The thing about Shriner's is that they have a focus on the care of the child over all else. Our other orthopedic practice was focused on getting us in and out with little time for explanations and was more focused on getting us booked for another appointment than just admitting they didn't have much expertise with children. Of course most of the time was focused on how we were going to pay our specialist copay and what insurance we had.The difference at Shriner's is caring and expertise (in our case) with children's orthopedics. From the minute you walk in the door, everyone is focused on the patient. The entire experience is helping that child. They know how to treat children and connect with them at their level. From the security guards, to checkin staff, nurses, volunteers to play with the children while waiting, radiology staff and doctors all focus on the child. This is the way healthcare should be delivered. The Doctors and PAs took time to explain and answer our questions and address our concerns. I know this seems very flowery, but this hospital's care is an example of how to do it right. Thank you Shriner's.
Crystal Brunelle: They are the best and I am waiting to get my boy back there so he can walk out on his own...
Christopher Templin: My 7 year old needed knee surgery and all of the staff from security to the nurses and the doctors were amazing. I recommend Shriners hospital to anyone who needs treatment for their kids.
Trisha E: Extremely disappointed in the care I received at Shriners Hospital. I came to Shriners for a second opinion with my 1year old son approximately 3 months after a lower leg fracture. I wanted a specified plan of care by a physician who solely treats children. We had our first visit and it was nothing different than our previous orthopedic. After a follow up with one of my sons primary physicians who voiced her concern about his leg. I asked to be seen for another appointment and specifically requested to see an MD in place of the NP we saw the first time. I was told this couldn’t happen and the NP was who I would be able to see. I obliged and had the follow up appointment to be told “everything was fine” with my son and to stop worrying. About 5 weeks after that visit I called Shriners and requested to be seen because for the first time since my son broke his leg he was showing signs of pain and limping on his affected leg. I left a message with the triage nurse around 2pm and got a call back within 15 minutes, I explained the situation to the nurse who said she would speak to the physician and get back to me. I did not hear back from Shriners for 24 hours after I initially called and the nurse simply told me to “give my son some Motrin”To receive a phone call 24 hours after I requested to be seen for a change in my sons condition is absolutely unacceptable. This in turn forced me to seek emergency care for my son elsewhere. Which resulted in me requesting his records to be sent to them immediately after. I completed the records release form the same day and the receptionist assured me if I had the office who needed the records call and ask for them to be expedited it would not be a problem. A week later at our follow up appointment still no records had been sent.I am discouraged, angry and hurt at the way I have been treated while advocating for my son to receive the highest level of care he deserves and hope no parent has to feel the way I do.
Ines M. Ocasio: I recommend the hospital service worked with my concerns promptly and quickly clarified my doubts. Excellent
S Bates: Without exception, everyone here was so nice
Alyssa Letendre: Shriners hospital so far has been a good hospital I have only gone once this is my first time going I now go there for physical therapy the doctors are very very educated they only do the things needed if absolutely needed I was not put in a brace however because my spine was 1 - 4 degrees under the limit because of this I was giving physical therapy to help with the scoliosis pain but if my scoliosis continues to get worse along with my growth and my spine continues to get worse then I will be forced in this
Beverly Vila: Good caring doctors
US Radio TV: I like this place. It's a really nice hospital for kids.

Baystate Children's Hospital: what do users think?
Sarah Gray: When I arrived with my child, we were directed where to park, where to go in, and were immediately checked in. We spoke with a nurse a moment later, then within 2 minutes, went through triage and were sent to a private room. There was no wait time and all of the staff were courteous and friendly, offering smiles to my little one. Once in the room, we were kept informed of what was happening, why we were waiting at different stages, and what next steps could be. We were discharged after treatment in a reasonable amount of time. All around a positive experience and by far the best I’ve had in western mass emergency care for children!
Amber J: We had to bring our two year old daughter into the emergency room. She had a deep wound from hitting her hand. Baystate was nothing but amazing! The ladies at the front desk, all the nurses and the doctor were great!!! They really were comforting during this scary time. She had to get stitches and they are now healing very nicely! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our girl! Five stars!!!
Elyssa Morgan: My son was in excruciating pain and had a puzzling case but the doctors, nurses, and all the staff made sure he was comfortable while keeping me informed of each step they were taking to get to the bottom of what was going on. He was eventually admitted and the amazing care extended throughout his entire hospital stay. We cannot thank everyone who helped him enough.
Jen M: Child went to ER then surgery for an injury. 5 stars from beginning to end! All Doctors, nurses, everyone: helps to make you comfortable and feel at ease. Listens and answers all questions & concerns completely- Keeps both the parents And the patient (child) informed about their diagnosis treatment and discharge- Would highly recommend BCH!
Shelbi Joy: My husband and I took our daughter into the ER with RSV late last night. The nurse, PA and doctor were so kind and reassuring. They took a look at her quickly, and even offered to keep her longer for observation if it would ease our mind since they weren't too busy to have the spot for her. We really appreciated that. It was a very scary time for us as our girl is only 9 months old and they made it a little easier with their quick care, kindness and reassurance.
Erica Summers: My family and I are so thankful for the care my daughter received in the ER, pediatrics ICU and childrens floor while in this crazy time where so many children are sick. Thank you
Destinee Beckford: If I could give it a 0 I would. No explanation needed worst pediatric emergency department I have ever been too.
Heather Shapiro: I had to rush my son here in the middle of the night and everyone was fantastic! Emergency room is having some renovations and was still very clean! Thank you to everyone who helped my son feel better!!
Robert M. Mompart: My son was born here last year as an extreme premature baby. He spent 2 months in the nicu and I could not be more grateful and thankful to all doctors and nurses that attended him. The experience was always comforting and very professional. I would not hesitate in recommending this hospital.
Heather Garland: After reading reviews, I was so worried about taking our kid here, but now I'm honestly shocked about the other reviews. We had one of the best experiences at Baystate Pediatric ER. The nurses were friendly and very caring, the hospital was clean, and the doctor was extremely helpful and caring. People forget that hospitals across the nation are short-staffed, and unfortunately, they can rush everyone to the back! When we went in last night with our son, who had a high fever, stomach ache, and head hurting. We got Triaged pretty fast and also treated pretty quickly as well. Overall I would give our experience last night a 10/10 as they meet every expectation a parent could have for a Pediatric ER. Again for those complaining about the wait time, that’s EVERYWHERE, not just this hospital; many nurses and doctors stepped away when Covid hit!!
Amanda Roman: The first time I had, had an accident and they just left me outside on the hallway, second time I come, I'm pregnant (I'm 17) and they've left me for 5 hours I'm throwing up and crying in pain they're horrible
Melissa Brown: They were very good to my son when he went in today. I feel like they were very thorough with examining him. They were really good with him as well.
Stephanie Balmer: This place was absolutely disgusting. Masks, gloves, dirty paper towels, and over flowing waste bins littered the floors. Patients were ushered in and out of the exam room, and back to the emergency room to wait some more-with no cleaning in between. The wheels on the dirty hospital wheelchair rolled over the trash from the last patient as I brought my daughter in to be examined. We sat there unattended four hours without care while my 8 year old suffered with broken bones, and no pain medication. Finally at close to midnight they confirmed her bones were broken, gave her pain medication in the emergency room waiting area/exit and sent us on our way with merely a brace. She's high risk for severe illness, and I'm terrified of what we picked up in that packed waiting room. A child with whooping cough, and two with suspected covid shared the same small waiting area as the children with broken bones. A father left his children inside the waiting room alone as he went outside to shoot up. He came back in and nodded out for over an hour. I notified the staff, and I pray they did the right thing and those children are okay. We've been to many hospitals (for illnesses, not injuries) and I have never seen anything as bad as this. It was clear that the medical staff was completely overwhelmed. The number of sick and injured children exceeding their capacity, as they continued to trickle in. This hospital is failing as it tries to care for this large metropolitan area, and the children are suffering (literally suffering in their emergency room), but also as a whole in this community. The hospital needs more funding, and more medical staff or there will be more unnecessary losses here.As a parent of an injured child this was a horrific experience. It was also devastating to see all these medical professionals unable to care for everyone who needed it. The medical system needs an overhaul.
aisha hiza: The nurses are rude and so are the doctors. The staff do not how to communicate and many of these people should not be allowed around children. The place is so dirty. For a place that should be clean especially during covid it is not. Dust is everywhere. My daughter named several dust bunnies. The bathrooms are so nasty do they even have people cleaning anything. Worst experience for our family. Our family was treated like trash. Absolutely no stars if that could be given
Heather Baldwin: There emergency department sucks. I’ll never bring my child there again
Evin: Doctor and nurse James are very attentive and patient, thank you for your concern and care my daughter!
Marielis Colon: I usually would not rate this baystate so low, but tonight was such a horrible service to me and my family. A nurse named Kayla, treated my daughter's daughters and rush through everything was in such a rush she wasn't care full when checking temps on my one year old and tried to shove the temp in the wrong hole!! Sorry for the details but like come on, I had to stop her and tell her it was the wrong one and to be more careful.
Bonnie I: My son has diabetes and they poorly monitored it. We never have had a problem with his blood glucose until we went there. They can’t seem to coordinate staff and implement a plan. The communication is poor between staff members. His blood sugar was 50 when he came out of surgery after assuring me that they would give him sugar via iv during and it would be closely monitored. His reading is usually around 130. They changed their story several times depending on who you talk to. The staff is just too inexperienced. They changed his plan so many times that he actually didn’t eat more then a couple pieces of an orange for 3 days.
Laura Diaz: Thank you so much to everyone who took part in caring for my Daughter. I will be forever grateful. I highly recommend bringing your babies here. I seriously cant express enough how amazing and honest this facility is. My family will forever be thankful for the care my child received. Do not make the mistake of bringing your kids anywhere else! Id give 10 stars if i could!
Yvette Anderson: We waited hours to be seen the nurses were rude and dismissiveWent to Mercy to find my son had a serious abscess on his toothThey really need to work on patient relationsThis was sad
Wanda Rivera: There are so nice to children
