Sleep Medicine Services: what do users think?
David Higgins: Office staff is a joke. Unprofessionally run!!
N M: I had a sleep study this month and my tech was the nicest young man named Adrian. He was kind, thoughtful, and just a pleasure to work with. I’ve had two other sleep studies over the years and never had someone make what can be a slightly uncomfortable experience so pleasant. Also must add that working with Amy LaFleur has been a delight. She has answered so many questions and solved problems for me. You're fortunate to have such an employee!
Scott Mason: Sleep Medicine Services of Springfield has been great to me! The staff is very helpful, enjoyable and informative. I get my supplies when needed for my CPAP machine and support when I have questions or concerns!
Scott Kahan: Reading reviews of bad staffing and I can only guess that this must have been a different staff. I work with Amy L and she rocks!!! She worked extra to make sure my mask was working, spends extra time to make sure all my questions were answered and genuinely cares about me as a patient. It’s nice to see people who care about and love what they do!!!
Charles Slingerland: I have been a patient for seven years. The support staff and doctors are very professional. I had to replace my CPAP out of pocket due to our insurance company... I am 6 months from the approval window. However, I met with Amy, she was delightful and very helpful in exploring mask options. Although the checkbook hurt a little today. Amy made it much more palatable Thank you.
Nykole Roche: Excellent staff (especially Amy!) and providers. They've worked so hard to help me figure out a comfortable solution to sleep issues.
Erin L: I feel like this was a total waste of almost $300- my out of pocket after insurance for an at home study. I went in, picked up the device, got a single double sided sheet of paper with basic instructions on equipment setup. I didn’t get instructions on how to go about my sleep routine. It came back that I didn’t have apnea. I went through another service and paid out of pocket for WatchPAT. I got much more accurate instructions and that came back with me having mild apnea.I was told by this Springfield office after that I would have to get another overnight sleep study at a sleep study and another referral by my doctor, which would cost me much more money out of pocket. I feel like their services and device are archaic. I had documented choking and snoring that were witnessed by others. I would recommend saving your money and going to LOFTA instead. It was quicker and more accurate to get an at home sleep study through an online service in my experience, and they actually provided detailed results and follow up.
Johanna Brackney: TERRIBLE. That’s the review.
Cynthia Agruso: Two words: Freaking awful. This office doesn't call you back, communication is terrible, staff is NOT trained in patient care. Basically you have zero confidence that you are getting good medical care. I am out Go to Boston and save yourself the grief.
Charles Jeffries: Have went downhill considerably. Few remaining staff are wonderful but no one answers the phone. Like ever. I'm simply trying to pay my bill. You'd think getting paid would be a priority for them. Apparently not.
Traci Cormier: Office staff was pleasant and helped me just fine (not sure what was happening with these other reviews).
luis aponte: Had a sleep study done in the beginning of November of 2020. The place was god and the staff was very attentive to my needs and questions.2 weeks later i was called and was told i needed a cpap and was given an appointment to pickit up which i did no issues.I did call them a few times and i was always greeted properly and my questions were answered. Thanks i am now having the best sleep i have had in a long time!
Peter Mead: Good luck with this place during the pandemic. I’ve tried calling this place more than 15 times over the last three weeks (it’s now 9/29/20). All they do is take voice mails or use an answering service during regular business hours. Twice out of the 15 attempts I got calls back with voice mails telling me to call them back. It’s a hopeless circular void to try and reach them by phone. The answering service says that the regular front end staff that usually take calls are all working from home and the service gets the overflow, but also many times I just get a voice mail only option. There’s clearly no one holding the folks working from home accountable. Not after this many attempts. The current structure is basically forcing me to have to go in person just to make an appointment. For a medical provider this is grossly negligent and putting people at unnecessary exposure risk. Shame on them for the complete lack of accountability at the front end. Maybe they should be reported to the board of health?
Laurie Hill-Moriarty: I had 2 sleep studies with these people. Both times I told them I already had a BiPap machine. After the last study they told me I had sleep apnea. DUH! I know that! They want to give me a Cpap now. They said they would call my insurance to request one and to schedule a follow up. This was in the beginning of February. I’ve called every week only to be told someone would call me the next day- EVERY time. Now it’s Covid virus’s fault they haven’t called me. February was way before the virus.Does anyone know of a good sleep medicine doctor not affiliated with them
N Hab: Had a previous friend work for this company and was informed that she was assigned duties that only registered technicians should of been given and on most nights there wasn't even a registered technician on. Please be weary of places like this when messing with oxygen levels a registered person should be on-site at all times. And sleeping technicians consisted of most of there staff after set up. Health insurance and better business bureau should be contacted about this business.
Jannelle O'Connell: It's like the staff enjoys watching their patients suffer. Absolutely horrible staff to have to deal with! They'll make everything so much harder than it needs to be. It's honestly patient neglect.
Shannon Hanley: If you have a straightforward problem with an easy fix and have no other options, I still wouldn’t recommend dealing with these people.I had a rather complicated sleep issue for which I visited their office half a dozen times over a one year period. The office staff is uncaring, unprofessional, and borderline-negligent. Follow ups are always promised, yet are non-existent. When you finally get fed up and call their offices back instead, you may have to leave multiple messages over several days to eventually get a response from a practioner. I once called and left three messages (over a one week period with three different people) and was told twice that they would make sure the doctor called me back within 48 hours only to never get a call back from anyone. The extremely poor communication is apparently endemic and shown by all the staff members, receptionist and practitioner alike.I gave them the benefit of the doubt for about 6 months, but eventually became fed up with this treatment and called to say that I wanted copies of my records transferred to another office. I got very a prompt call back from an office rep of theirs, who persuaded me to try another practitioner at their office before looking for services elsewhere. I agreed, only to have my case shuffled around between a handful of PA’s for several more months. I once verbally confirmed ahead of time with the receptionist that I was seeing the same PA I’d seen previously, stating that I just wanted some continuity in the explanation of the plan of care, only to be greeted in the room by an unfamiliar PA. This second PA eventually prescribed me a psychiatric medication for trial, but made no attempt at follow up just as her predecessors.I’ve worked in a heavy volume medical office before. I’m familiar with the stressors, pitfalls, and inherent communication issues. I understand that follow ups and accurate communication aren’t possible 100% of the time from every staff member. But this office was a totally different animal. This was an entire medical office where conscientious and competent care was the exception TO the rule. I’ve interacted with dozens of medical offices in my lifetime, small and large, for serious and trivial health concerns. This is the only medical office experience that ever left me feeling truly worthless and lost.Surprisingly, the ACTUAL sleep study and the associated staff were professional and helpful and were a breath of fresh air compared to the day-time office. It’s too bad you only deal with them once.
Sleep Medicine: Exceptional services. Encounters with all staff was courteous and professonal.
Susan Lambert: Today I had an appointment for 10:00 am to discuss the results if my sleep study in the Springfield office. Arrived at 10:00 went up to the window and the girl sitting there asked me to wait a minute. She appeared to be training an older woman sitting next to her. I stood by the window for awhile and she still didn’t ask my name to check me in. I sat down to wait for her to acknowledge my appointment. I became engrossed in the magazine and realized some time had past. The woman being trained knew the situation and I would look at her to see if they were ready to check me in. This happened often as I sat there. From my angle I could not see the girl who was supposed to check me in. Finally I checked my cell phone and it was 10:19. I went up to the window to say I have not been checked in. The girl who usually sits there was gone and the older woman was still sitting there. She called over another woman who told me it was 10:22 and I would have to reschedule my appointment. I explained to her I came on time for my 10:00 appointment and was told to wait. She just stood there and stared at me and the older woman sitting there knew the situation and never said a word. I left the office because it was apparent I was not to be listened to I will never go back to that office and certainly will never recommend it to friends. My actual sleep study went well comfortable bed and room. Nasal cannula uncomfortable but all in all satisfactory. Office personnel is another story. When I got home there was a message on my phone to call the Amherst office. Have called three times as of this writing and unable to get throughI am a retired nurse and appalled at the way I as a patient was treated. I would just like to add to this post the sleep study technician I had ,a young fella was professional kind and caringHowever the office personnel during the day could certainly benefit with more training
Robert Rossi: The most uncaring, unprofessional receptionist. I called to push back an appointment I had made earlier in the day. At the time I scheduled there were at least three times available starting at 1pm, and two or three later times. I took the 1pm and found out less than an hour later that I would need one of the later times. I immediately called back and asked for a later appointment. I got an answering machine and left the message. A little more than an hour later I called back because no one responded to my message. When I called back I asked the receptionist if she got my message, she stated “she did”. When I asked for one of the later available openings, she said they were filled and I would have to wait almost six weeks to be rescheduled. First off, I find it hard to believe that three openings could have been filled in less than an hour. I won’t call Her a lair, but I would call her thoughtless and indifferent to their patient’ s needs. Even after I explained I was have difficulty using my machine and needed to be evaluated. This was the suggestion of my primary doctor who made the original appointment, but none of that mattered to I believe her name was Lauren. I’ll be looking for other facilities as I believe this recommendation will fall on deaf ears and probably will not be welcome anyway. But, if this woman’s boss keeps on the phones, they have a serious thinking disorder if they believe she is good for their business or should even work in the health field.
Robert Brayton: When I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea over 3 years ago, Jackie was an angel and a professional at this place before she moved on to another job with her family to another state. She worked at the Springfield office for many years because it was a great working atmosphere. Since she left, I have been back to the office many times. Each time I go to order supplies they have different workers. I never get a call back because the person I last talked to has left and because of poor communication (I've heard this from a employee 2 months ago) follow-up is almost non-existent. I've had to get my basic supplies from another source. If you get good customer service on one visit, that same employee won't be there the next time because they have left because of poor working conditions or were fired. Apria and Lincare are far more professional and caring sleep apnea companies. You've been warned.

Hampden Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine: what do users think?
Alex Webster: Very professional and efficient staff. Always friendly
a.nicotera: “ Hello, I must be going!” Is what I experienced at “ pulmonary sleep “. Don’t choose this doctor if you have a problem sitting in the waiting room for a half hour then getting about ten minutes with a doctor prone to RAISING HIS VOICE TO HIS PATIENTS..I’ve been to his office twice and have ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING. The word EMPATHY- does it apply? Not here . I’ll be changing doctors tomorrow morning.
Coraima Rosado: very professional doctor and staff. zero wait time very efficient office.
CINDY FIELDS: very good doctor. 3 piece suit very nice. always concerned for you. smart man.

Pioneer Neurology & Sleep Rani: what do users think?
Floris Wilma Ortiz: Doctor Athreya has taken care of my mom for more than a decade. She has been instrumental in managing my mom's Parkinson symptoms keeping them under control with great expertise and professionalism, authentic compassion, deep care and an amazing listener. Doctor Athreya has also provided resources and education to help guide us for mom care right here at home. My mom, at her 94 yrs is doing better than many in their 70s-80s--- thanks to the doctor for guiding us and supporting my mom in maintaining and keeping an active life. I highly recommend her. Blessings in the New Year 2022!
christine rigali: Kristie Harrington is excellent at managing my sleep disorder. I highly recommend her. The office staff however isoften rude and do not return calls or take accurate messages.
Bozo Clown: This office staff is horriable and very very rude
Monica Wilson: I came to pioneer neurology for my migraines and vertigo. Though the wait for an appointment was extensive, it is for good reason. I came in and the front desk women were very helpful, friendly and thorough. I saw Dr. Athreya and she was very nice and understanding even when certain things are hard to explain. She took her time, even though my case wasn’t as severe as most. I left with a lot of helpful information, a referral and a prescription. I will be going back in a month for a follow up.
collen peliter & toca girl: Terrible...they do not return phone calls...and are not concerned with the patients needs in regards to medication side effects..
Peggy Garber: Dr. Athreya helped our family handle a very difficult situation. Her professionalism, compassion and direct approach worked very well for our family.
Elizabeth St. John: I had neck pain for over 10years that no other Neurologist could pin point the cause. Upon her assessment she touched my neck and said I have “cervical dystopia.” She devised a care plan and I have been just about pain free for almost 2 years now! Dr. Athreya is very intelligent, compassionate, and was able to help me when no one else could. I would highly recommended her to anyone in search of a Neurologist or sleep specialist. The staff is very friendly as well, and even supplied samples when my insurance would not cover them due to a prior authorization. I know she is accepted new patients and I would go there before seeing any other Neurologist. I am very thankful for the treatment she has provided for me.
applescentyummy: Attentive, gives you her time, listens.
Donna Saia: This is the worst practice i have ever been to..the staff is extremely incompetent...if you arent pro active with your own care you wouldn't get anywhere and the dr could care less how the staff treats pts...there are plenty of other doctors to go to without having to deal with these horrible ppl..look at her ratings with other sites..theres a reason she only gets 2 stars..DO NOT GO HERE
