Urology Group of Western New England: what do users think?
Nakira 92: I've been in the office for over an hour as we speak and still haven't seen the doctor. This isn't a new experience here. The wait if ALWAYS ridiculous. Don't plan anything else the day of your appointment because you are 100% guaranteed to spend your day here.
jp Berwald: Excellent Office visit. Efficient and knowledgeable staff. Awfully nice people; I was well treated and recommend highly.
William Isch: I tried to make a appointment with them and asked for Live ASL interpreter and they flat out refused to get one for me said we have VRI I told them I prefer Live Person they Still refused So they are Violated our ADA rights they Broke ADA rights so I guess I need to make complaint against them one of the Rudest Dr office they are the First office that Refused the Live interpreter Shame on them
Walter Parzychowski: Pleasant staff and great care.
Lisa P: Dr. Susan Glover is the best! She sincerely cares about her patients & she treats you with respect & dignity. Staff at the office are helpful & kind. So happy to have found this office.
Nick Vernadakis: Dr. Mostafavi was amazing! Attentive, listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one with care. 10/10, my favorite doctor!
Sandra Rivera: Great group of urologists fantastic treatments of urinary tracts infectious inside laboratory. And ultrasound machine. Courteous staff, wheelchair accessible, located on the first floor on your right.
Thomas Lovell: So far, Dr Mostafavi has been excellent. He communicates well and all of his support staff also do an excellent job. I have been to both the Springfield office, and the Westfield office and they do equally well and are very efficient. I wish I could say the same for my healthcare insurer (Medicare C).
Carl Nardiello: Dr Sonn has been the consummate professional. He is an expert technician, confident in his abilities, honest and friendly. I’ve had one major procedure & I was well taken care of by him & his staff.
Casandra lopez: This place is completely incompetent, my husband went for procedure they gave results said they were gonna refer him to a specialist ok weeks go on still waiting he calls again explains what is and they say “ we will put message and get back to you” they put him for a procedure without even telling him and they try to charge for him for missing it he called and told them about it and asked about the referral again same thing we will put message in then I make him call again turns out doctor never put it in and this time he is literally talking to the referral department and she said she gonna send again a message and call him back and till this day no call back has been months dealing with this place always a run around we shouldn’t have to be on top of people to do their jobs like it’s ridiculous I work in healthcare in a hospital I know things are busy but to sit here and be so unorganized and at that if we are paying the money we should be getting what we pay for. This place is not a place I recommend dealing with because you’ll never get anywhere with them. I got my own place I deal with and they are on top of everything they tell me what it is and walks me through everything you’re better off somewhere else.
Dan Walsh: 10:20 appt 11:10 still waiting. How can they be this far behind so early?
Denise Presley: I had a large kidney stone and was treated by Drs. Mostafavi and Harris. Both were excellent. I was nervous about the recommended procedure - lithotripsy, but all went well and I had a positive result. Both doctors were patient and fully answered my questions. But the thing I appreciated most was their confidence. These days, so many doctors are ‘wishy-washy’ about advising patients … and in our litigious society understandably so. But these doctors are competent and confident. (I have a complicating factor, which Dr. Mostafavi noticed right away and adjusted his treatment plan accordingly.)BTW, I noticed some reviewers are critical of the support staff, but I thought they were fine. They’re not perfect but they’re pleasant and professional.I never thought minor billing or scheduling issues put my health in jeopardy, which can’t be said of some medical practices’ support staff. Lol.Many thanks to all at the Urology Group of Western Massachusetts.
richard jarvis: Dr. Tyson is an excellent Urologist, unfortunately the front desk staff workers and nurses are utterly incompetent, rude, and there is a serious lack of communication in the office. All of the aforementioned issues led me to the ER with hydronephrosis a few weeks ago in which I had to have an emergency stent put in (which if I didn't have put in I would have had kidney failure or could have developed sepsis). Mind you, I called and spoke with a Nurse a few days before a scheduled ultrasound and requested to be be seen before or after due to a kidney stone that was moving and was not feeling well. The nurse said "I looked at the notes and there is no reason for you to be seen". Two days post the ultrasound, I ended up in the ER with the aforementioned hydronephrosis. Which if they looked at the Ultrasound while I was in the office two days prior, they would have noticed the right kidney was swelling. After the emergency stent was put in, I was given discharge instructions to follow up with my Urologist, Dr. Tyson. When I called for a follow up appointment, I was transferred to the same nurse. The nurse immediately says "Why are you calling here, if a Doctor from Pioneer Valley Urology put the stent in?" I replied that it was done on an emergency visit basis. She then replied "I don't even know why I'm talking to you, you were a no show in February". I stated I have no idea what you're talking about and that I was just there a few days earlier for the ultrasound. Then the phone went silent. The Nurse actually hung up on me. I've called several times to speak to the office manager, to no avail. That day I switched over to the office with the Urologist from Baystate who performed the procedure, Dr. Zavaski who is phenomenal and one of the most personable doctors I have ever met. The kicker with Western Ma Urology, they sent me a letter a week after I already switched, stating that I was verbally aggressive with a staff member and there policy stipulates that behavior leads to a dismissal from the practice (of course with no noted recourse to give your side of the issue, hence the lengthy review). That's what you're dealing with here. I see it's not the first time there's been an issue with the nurses and/or staff, and I without a doubt believe that specific Nurse treats people like that on a daily basis. I think Dr. Tyson should be aware of this type of incompetence, especially if it's causing him to lose patients.
Wanda Morales: Not happy or pleased with care and services provided.Transfered my care to a different provider.
Steven Freiman: Dr Mostafavi was very attentive and personable, answering my questions. I felt satisfied with the plan we came up with.
Thomas Canady: Still waiting to see doctor 50 minutes after scheduled appointment. Arrived 10 minutes early, checked in, filled out paperwork & paid co pay. Sat down in waiting room 5 minutes before appointment time. 35 minutes later, inquired at desk what was taking so long. Immediately was let in to an appointment room to await doctor. 20 minutes later still waiting. This was supposed to be a ten minute appointment. This is the second time with these issues at this office.
Peter Babineau: Everyone at this office has treated me with friendly respect and kindness. The, people at the reception desk, the nurses, the physicians assistant and Dr. Mo are all top notch and caring people.
Giovanni’s Creation: Take good care of their patients and they are polite to new patient
Eileen Cohen: Dr Mostavavi is a wonderful kind person as well as an excellent clinician. He is patient and kind. He is generous with his time explaining options and demonstrates an interest in the “whole” patient, something that is sadly lacking 99.9% of the time. Dr Mostavavi understands that although he has discussed these disease states thousands of times over the years, to the patient it is always the first time. We appreciated the prompt call back from his staff the same day of our appointment. Thank u Diane for your kindness and attention. Of course clinical expertise is the most important quality.. but clinical expertise plus patience, and kindness is the winning combination. We HIGHLY recommend Dr Mostavavi. All of the above was especially impressive given the office was VERY busy.
Summer Joyner: I've been seeing this urology group for a couple years and have always had wonderful experiences. Dr. Glover has always been professional, compassionate, and attentive. The staff is always respectful and friendly. I am thoroughly satisfied with all aspects of my care through this office and look forward to continuing my care there.
Delle Griffin: First appointment with Dr. Mostafavi today and my entire experience from check in to check out was excellent. Front office staff very nice & efficient, nurse was upbeat, friendly, and personable. Dr. Mostafavi was so thorough and offered many options going forward. Really liked that he was not hurried and I was able to ask all of my questions. The fact that he offers both western and alternative approaches is the icing on the cake!Highly recommend!

Not one but three.) while taking great care of me throughout the entire process. The operating room staff was equally amazing. PA came in, no apologies until I brought it up. After exam, was told to wait for him at the checkout desk to set up another appt for an injection. After waiting 15 minutes and he didnt show. The girl at the desk was very helpful in trying to figure the PA and what he was doing. I finally said the hell with it. I will let the VA know and I will never go back there!

Dr. David R. Kelley, MD: what do users think?
Ferdi Williams: I had prostatectomy surgery through this establishment on june 18 th 2019. Despite the amount charged to my heath insurance, they want me to come up with 1800.00 to satisfy my portion of the procedure. I'm not opposed to paying the amount, but consideration should be given to the fact that I was without income during my recuperation. Now, the practice has adamantly refused to see me for a follow-up postoperative visit. I found it appalling that money is given precedent over health. In addition to refusing to allow me a visit, I'm hit with a demand for payment and threatening legal action.
