Embrace Midwifery: what do users think?
Beck Rothberg: I had care with Embrace (Rachel Blessington and Sarah McRell) from Oct 2021-May 2022. I don’t believe that pregnancy and birth need to be medicalized and I also know births don’t always go as planned. In order to trust a provider for home birth you need to know that they can discern when medical consultation is indicated and when a situation is becoming high risk. In my experience this practice did not identify multiple high risk situations, which led to significant trauma for myself and my family in our pregnancy and birth experience. I got pregnant at 36 through IVF, so a higher risk pregnancy, and at first I felt reassured that they felt I could have a home birth but as my due date approached there were three huge concerns that I think are worth sharing:- When my 20 week anatomy scan showed my baby was small, I was recommended a third trimester scan to make sure everything was ok and that an induction and hospital birth wouldn’t be indicated. Rachel indicated to me that this was not a concern and that “they always say that.” I’m not really sure why they didn’t just refer me for a third trimester scan, it wouldn’t have taken away their business or cost them anything. Around 35 weeks my fundal height started measuring short and they still weren’t concerned. At one appointment around that time they made mention of me being three weeks earlier along than I was (“That’s great for 33 weeks”), and I had to correct them that I was 36 but they were still dismissive about it. My baby ended up tiny (less than 5 lbs) and we had to spend a week in the hospital with complications. The pediatrician said we likely would have had an IUGR diagnosis with additional screening, at which point I wouldn’t have proceeded with our planned home birth and possibly could have avoided a c-section.- I started having high blood pressure readings at my visits in the third trimester. They never during my entire pregnancy did a urine screening to make sure I wasn’t experiencing preeclampsia. When I was admitted to labor and delivery I was diagnosed with preeclampsia which became severe postpartum and I was readmitted to the hospital for it. Again, I might have done things differently if I had more information.- My water broke just shy of 39 weeks and labor never started. They had me at home for almost three days with my water broken and I had to request a non-stress test, which they had equipment to do in my home and other birth professionals have told me should have offered after 24 hours with my water broken. I had to request “longer listens” to my baby’s heartbeat despite having my water broken and the vibe was “we will do it but this is unnecessary”. In trying to convince me that a home NST was not necessary, Sarah offered that Rachel said if I felt I needed constant monitoring because I was anxious then I should elect to go the hospital, which was gaslighting (something in retrospect that I experienced with them throughout my pregnancy). The NST that they finally did showed the baby was in distress with contractions. I ended up being admitted to the hospital and had to have an emergency C-section, which of course sometimes happens, but I also had an infection from the prolonged rupture of membranes and my baby and I both had to be treated with antibiotics. In short, my family experienced significant prenatal and birth trauma with this practice. In order to have true informed consent in a medical situation you need to be given all the information. It seemed like rather than being my advocates and supporting my autonomy around pregnancy and birth, they were truly against me having access to all of the information I needed to make safe decisions for myself and my baby during pregnancy. When my family declined postpartum care from this practice they gave me a full refund without any prompting, stating that my family did not receive the care that we deserved. I wish that they would have identified this early on so that I could have explored other options to have a birth closer to what I imagined.
Suzanne Wigen: What an incredible prenatal/birth/postpartum experience!! Every appointment was an hour, they truly cared about my well-being & they empowered me every step of the way! We were constantly given sound & helpful advice, great referrals and invaluable education. As a first time mom I really wanted to be present during the birth, mentally and physically and that’s why I choose a home birth. It was incredible, our baby was birthed in the birth tub- calm and serene! The at-home postpartum visits were VITAL in my mental health, confidence and breastfeeding journey. Considering a home birth? Remember— no labor goes exactly as planned , always trust your instincts and do your best to over communicate! I would definitely suggest Embrace as a midwifery service, my decision to do a home birth with them was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life!
Cortney Bowen: We would not recommend embrace midwifery. There is a multitude of reasons, but I’ll just just a few.1. We felt like a burden to the by the 3rd trimester, but had already paid them in full and didn’t really have time or money to find another midwife.2. When we called them to let them know how far apart contractions were and finally convinced them that they needed to at least come by to check on us, it took them over an hour to actually arrive.3. After coming by the second night for 5-1-1 contractions, they told me that I should go to the hospital for pain relief. I expressed that we didn’t want to go to the hospital and wanted to try everything possible at home first. We didn’t try walking, changing positions, getting in the birth tub, nothing. Just that I should go to the hospital. I sat on the bed while they packed my hospital bag still expressing that I didn’t want to go.4. In the contact, they state that they will come to the hospital with you for doula support. They didn’t go with us to the hospital and didn’t show up to the hospital until I had already been there for 12 hours and my husband called to see if they were coming.5. As soon as our son was born, Sabrina left and said someone would be by later that day to check on us. No one ever came until the day after we were out of the hospital.6. When we asked about a partial refunded, since they made the choice to transfer us to the hospital, and expressed my concerns listed above, I was told that they break up the cost differently and that I wouldn’t be receiving any money back. They also said, “When labor does not go as you’d planned, it can be helpful to process the experience with a counselor trained in birth and perinatal experiences.” I don’t need to go to a therapist just because I was unhappy with how they performed and expressing my dissatisfaction.
colleen shea: The Embrace Midwifery team (Rachel, Sarah, Mellisa, Marianne & more) are absolutely fantastic. I am so grateful for the excellent personalized care they provided throughout my pregnancy. It made my first experience of pregnancy such a joy!The ladies at Embrace Midwifery are very knowLedgeable and experienced. They are able to conduct their practice with professionalism and ease. Rachel and Sarah were my main midwives and they both have a very soothing and caring nature that is especially comforting when someone needs it most and is the midst of their most vulnerable moments in the birthing process. Having no choice but to lean on others doesn’t always come easy to ppl and I can say that I felt so relieved, soothed, and cared for throughout my birthing experience. I will always be eternally grateful to Sarah and Rachel & the whole embrace midwifery team for the kindness and quality care they have provided for me and my little one♥️ Embrace Midwifery offers a unique experience in the amazing sense of community between mom/baby and providers/ embrace midwifery team! Embrace midwifery will help offer resources to get any and all your pregnancy needs met (prenatal yoga, local prenatal chiropractor, birthing classes and lactation consultation, etc.). These services all put together feel like a little birthing practice family, every base covered! I love Embrace Midwifery practice! You will not be disappointed if you choose this home birth team of lovely ladies!!
Kristen Rice: My experience at Embrace Midwifery was wonderful! Although our birth did not go as planned, we felt incredibly lucky to have Rachel & her team there for support - . From the first prenatal appt to the last postpartum appt, it was a great experience and I highly recommend Embrace !!
Jessica Giles: My husband and I could not be happier with our experience with Embrace Midwifery. I felt so good both mentally and physically during and especially after my pregnancy. They provided care and information you don’t get in a hospital and I can vouch for that as I lost my first. They’re available 24/7 and there is no waiting for a “callback” from a physician. You’re treated like a very close friend and you most certainly build a bond with the women bringing your precious baby into this world. The aftercare is superb and so unbelievably convenient. You are literally catered to and don’t have to worry about driving your baby to a hospital and waiting in a waiting room. You’re home with your baby, as you should be! They are here to comfort you throughout this amazing journey from beginning to end and more!! One of the best decisions we have ever made. Midwives—here at your cervix 😎🤓🤟🤰🤱
Sarah Whalen: Embrace midwifery has been nothing short of an amazing for the birth of our family’s first baby. Everyone at embrace has been supportive, welcoming and informative along the way. Even when our birth plan did not go exactly as we planned, as the birthing partner, I still felt supportive, and empowered through the whole experience. We will definitely be planning our future children’s births through Embrace! 😊
Melissa Ricci: The Embrace team is nothing short of amazing. I looked forward to every prenatal visit and learned so much from each of them. They were so respectful and kind throughout my entire experience. Rachel, Marianne, and Maria were at my home birth and made me feel so safe and empowered. I recommend Embrace Midwifery to anyone thinking about a home birth! I would choose them again and again.
Laura Jackson: I cannot recommend Embrace midwifery enough. I have used them for 2 of my home births and felt so safe and supported! Marianne made me feel confident and empowered. She listened to my concerns and I looked forward to my prenatal visits with her each time. The whole team is amazing and it was wonderful to have their nurturing care right at my home, especially during this pandemic. I truly loved using them for my home births.
Jamie Burgoyne: Embrace Midwifery Care is a gift that I wish every expectant mother and family could have: a healthy, easy, fully supported, safe and empowered home birth. There is not enough space in a review to begin to describe (and thank) Embrace for the transformative care that my family and I received. Marianne and her team at Embrace offer SO many years of experience of working with pregnant, laboring, and post-partum women in hospitals, birthing centers and at home. Additionally, their experience in fields such as massage, lactation counseling, nutrition, and other areas that relate to pregnancy and women’s health, is impressive. I felt peace of mind and confidence knowing that I had a labor dream team that was made up of certified nurse midwives and labor and delivery nurse professionals that were passionate about family centered, evidence-based care, and could offer the kind of care I dreamed about outside of a hospital setting. Trust, relationship building, deep knowledge, and consistency of care were all very important to me as a part of this second pregnancy, and I experienced all of these gifts with Embrace. Embrace Midwifery feels like family: From my prenatal visits at Marianne’s house, to the water birth at home, and finally the five post partum visits all within six weeks of the birth of my son, my whole self was always deeply cared for. Not to mention the many other gifts that Marianne and her team brought to the house post delivery: lasagna, a box of snacks, and more that I will not spoil! Any questions I had regarding my health, or the baby’s health pre or postnatal were immediately answered. My husband and I were also surprised to learn that insurance would reimburse for some of the costs of our pre and postnatal care. To this end, finding a practice that I can continue to see for regular gynecological care and that knows my birth story intimately, reassures me that I have found the best care around. Thank-you, Marianne, Melissa and the whole team at Embrace Midwifery.
Ana Ugarte: Choosing Embrace Midwifery was the best decision I could have ever made for the birth of my daughter, my pregnancy, and the postpartum care. All the healthcare providers who work in this practice are great listeners and so so knowledgeable. I highly recommend it!
Danielle O'RIORDAN: Amazing care from prenatal through labor into postpartum. I wish I'd had all my children with Embrace Midwifery
Sheri Rossi: Perfect balance of therapeutic and relaxing massage. I usually fall asleep or am close to it but I don't want to miss out on enjoying the massage! I have seen many massage therapists in the area but none compare to Rachel.
Brittany Falcone: I would highly recommend Rachel for your massage, doula, or midwifery needs. As a chiropractor who cares for pregnant women extensively, I only refer my new and expecting moms to Rachel. I have also seen many massage therapists throughout my life, and she is definitely my favorite. She is passionate, knowledgeable, and thorough and I love having her in my referral network. She has such a calming, comforting presence that is also very supportive and strong when necessary. If you’re considering hiring a doula or considering a home birth Rachel should be on your list to interview.

Grace Sliwoski: Erika is an amazing skilled, compassionate, creative, and powerful midwife, doula, birth coach, and overall supporter of new parents! She brings a wealth of experience supporting laboring women from many parts of the world combined with a deep humility and empathic approach to her work that was a huge asset in the birth of both of my children. Erika listened to me and supported my needs for my birth plan and won the trust and support of my doctor and the nurses who were also present. This allowed for a peaceful and collaborative dynamic during a challenging 4 day induction where I felt respected, supported, and loved. Erika is truly the best of the best!
Anthony Sliwoski: Erika is an amazing coach and mentor for birth partners as well as those in labor! She empowered me with the tools and encouragement to be able to provide the support my wife needed for the birth of both of our children. I cannot reccomend her highly enough!

Veronica Barry: Dina and her team were amazing! They truly became my “village” during the prenatal appointments and at birth of my daughter. This was my first certified midwife experience, my previous child was born with an OB practice, and I have to say it was a wonderful world of difference. Dina is kind, caring, and makes you feel heard while making sure you are educated and able to make well informed decisions about your pregnancy care and birth. We ended up transferring from home to the hospital for a necessary c-section; Dina’s knowledge and expertise gave me the confidence to know we made the right decisions for my daughter. If we do end up having another child, we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our prenatal and birth care. Dina is the best!

Quiet Waters Doula Services: what do users think?
Lauren Sfakis: We interviewed a few doulas for our second birth after a traumatic first birth with our son. We chose Natasha because of her experience, very calming demeanor and motivation for wanting to pursue this career. My birthing plan was to experience an unmedicated VBAC and Natasha was, i believe, one of the only reasons my plan came to fruition. She even ended up teaching the hospital staff some techniques for counter pressure! She was able to be there for me before my husband was able to arrive and it made all the difference. Her skillset and doula toolkit gave me the confidence both physically and mentally to move through the hardest thing I have ever done. Our daughter was born at 34 weeks with no complications in a truly calming and beautiful environment. We cannot thank Natasha enough. She was amazing and I would recommend her to first time moms, second+ moms, high risk moms and everyone else!
Leeah Wing: Hiring Natasha as our doula was the best decision my husband and I have ever made in our lives! For our first pregnancy we knew we wanted to be in a hospital setting in case of any emergency, but we also understood that having a non interventive, natural birth would be difficult in this setting and we wanted to get the best support for our birth experience. From the moment we met Natasha we knew she was the right person to support us. She is highly knowledgeable and most importantly, calming. As a first time mom, I had a lot of questions and concerns and was always comforted knowing she would be there to answer any email, text or phone call as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we had to be induced and Natasha was able to give us as much information leading up to it and how to prepare mentally and physically. During labor when we finally called her in after 4 miserable days in the hospital, having her show up was a moment of peace and security I will never forget. Her presence gave me the strength to continue through unmedicated contractions by being by my side for hours on a birthing ball, whispering affirmations that I was safe and my baby was safe. She will only give us the credit, but I know in my heart Natasha Trapp is the only reason we were saved from having a c-section. By suggesting a body movement to get our baby to move down the birth canal after being high up for the entire labor, our baby was born vaginally within 30 minutes afterwards. Natasha will forever be our guardian angel and we cannot recommend her services enough. She will always be the highlight of our birth story and always have a special place in our hearts. Do yourself and your family a favor and hire her, right now!
Naomi Q: We hired Natasha as our birth doula after doing some research online. Our goal was to have someone professional throughout my pregnancy and delivery who would provide physical and emotional support and was also knowledgeable. Natasha lived up to all my expectations!Throughout my pregnancy we met with Natasha at our home and she shared important information regarding the stages of labor, provided post cards with questions in order to understand my expectations regarding labor and delivery and addressed all my concerns including hoping on zoom calls after my prenatal appointments with my Obgyn. We had a good doula and expecting mom relationship. She also shared the “tools” in her doula bag and we practiced different coping mechanisms that we planned to use during labor. Natasha was well prepared and also found a backup Doula for us just in case we needed one if the baby came earlier. She met my husband and I promptly at the hospital as we were checking in. During my delivery, Natasha provided on-going encouragement, breathing techniques, liquids, suggested laboring positions, provided counter pressure on my back and essential oils. She also held my hands as I was getting my epidural which was helpful. She was observant while the nurses and the doctors were in my room and helped distribute my birth plan (which she helped me prepare) to the doctors and nurses. She was there throughout my delivery and also stayed a little longer after and took pictures which I thought was very thoughtful. She met us at our home about a week post delivery and recommended lactation consultants and provided a summary of our birth. We were able to talk about the labor and delivery and how the process went and whether it met our expectations. I was not worried at all during my labor and delivery as I knew Natasha (and my husband) were there to help me and help advocate for me which helped me focus on everything we had discussed and practiced. My biggest fear was that I would be pushed to get an unnecessary C-section or an episiotomy, that did not happen as it was not necessary. I was able to deliver without any complications and part of the reason it because I waited until the last minute to go to the hospital which meant less interventions also because I had my husband and Natasha there who helped ensure my birth plan was followed. I was not “pushed around” by the hospital staff.I would describe Natasha as calm, supportive, kind, warm demeanor and thoughtful. Do not hesitate to hire her. I read a review before hiring her that stated that she has a “quiet presence” about her and I completely agree. Hire her!
Marissa Nomakeo: My third pregnancy turned out to not be as smooth sailing as my first two, and with each challenge I was so happy to have Natasha's calm energy and guidance to boost my confidence and relieve my worries. While I hired her to help me through the birthing process, I hadn't anticipated how much she would help me during the pregnancy. I quickly learned the importance of staying RELAXED and trusting the strength of my body. I also learned how empowering it is to educate oneself on pregnancy and birth, and Natasha gave me the tools to do just that. Starting at my 20 week scan, my doctor's office (I was under midwife care with a bigger medical group) began to sound the alarm at my baby's size. Every ultrasound thereafter was tainted by the stress of a "big baby". Although he was completely healthy, talk of induction, cesarean, and shoulder dystocia put a damper on the second half of my pregnancy. As I approached my due date, the pressure of it all took its toll. I did not want an induction or a cesarean, but the doctors and midwives at my office made it seem like I may have no other choice. In came Natasha to remind me of the strength of my body, the power of confidence and calm, and the fact that any decisions were ultimately mine to make. She sent me articles and research on "big babies" to help aid me in my decision-making, and promised to support whatever I decided.Fortunately for me, my baby decided to come early, so I did not need to make a decision regarding induction. Using the information Natasha gave me, and understanding the strength of such knowledge and that of my body, I decided to proceed with an attempt at a vaginal birth (despite the scare tactics used by the OB at the hospital). Natasha created a calm atmosphere for both my husband and me and helped guide our decisions in the laboring process. We'd look to her every time a question was asked because we trusted her THAT much to help us do the right thing. She would quietly give us the knowledge we needed while reminding us that ultimately it was all up to us. She brought essential oils and snacks, took care of my husband as much as she did me, and gave us exactly what we were looking for when we decided to seek a doula. When it came time to push, she encouraged me to use a position that would lessen the odds of our baby getting stuck, and also reminded me that I would need to get him out quickly or the midwife and doctor would push harder for a cesarean. That gave me the jolt I needed to dig deep and get my baby out quickly and safely. After 17 minutes of pushing and a scary moment where he was briefly stuck, our healthy, 11 lb baby was born without any tearing. I am SURE that none of this would have been possible without Natasha's guidance.Following our son's birth, Natasha took care of my husband (who was very shaken), gave me praise that helped lift me to the top of the world, and took the most beautiful pictures without us even knowing. They were raw, cell-phone pictures that were absolutely perfect and something I will cherish forever. Shortly after the birth, she quietly exited, but followed up with texts to check on me. Once we were home, she returned for a postpartum visit, bringing a written out birth story timeline for us to keep, and gifts for my family and children. She also answered questions I had about mastitis and nursing, referred me to a lactation consultant, and went above and beyond to put the cherry on top of the whole experience. If you are considering a doula, consider no further--YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY DO IT! And if you are looking for an experience like ours, hire Natasha. You will not be disappointed!
Megan Missett: After hearing so many traumatic birth stories of my friends and family, when I became pregnant it was important to me to do whatever possible to have the best chance at a positive birth experience. Working with Natasha was the best choice my husband and I could have possibly made. We immediately appreciated her evidence based approach and her quiet and calming demeanor. These qualities as well as her extensive knowledge only became more evident and useful during my labor. The baby came early. Our hospital bags were not packed and as my husband put it, “our emotional bags were not packed either.” I went into labor unprepared and things did not go as I expected but with Natasha’s help both physically and emotionally we felt very well supported through everything. She helped me to feel empowered and confident in my choices. Looking back I can say that despite all of the hard parts, bringing our first child into the world was a positive and absolutely amazing experience and I know that Natasha had a huge role in that. 10/10. Would recommend.
Nadia Saforo: I started looking into getting a doula after my 27 weeks prenatal visit: I had a cesarean section with my first child and since that was a traumatic experience, I was determined to not have another cesarean by doing everything possible to have minimal interventions during my second delivery. My provider didn’t seem supportive with my birth plan therefore I knew getting a doula will help in me possibly getting the birth I wanted this time around. Having the doula helped provide the comfort of knowing someone who’s experienced was on our side and also having different methods to help my spouse to use to relieve my pain. I liked the fact that there were two of them and they worked shifts in order to ensure I always had someone there. Since they did shifts they were also rested in order to provide the support we needed. I truly enjoyed my birth experience this time because the doulas were attentive, detailed oriented, compassionate, willing to listen to me when a method wasn’t helping and they were willing to try what I felt worked for me. Their voices were so soothing during difficult moments in the process. They had so many tools/methods to work with when some methods didn’t work. They prayed with me even I requested it; Is there anything specific you would recommend about us? I wouldn’t change anything about them. I will recommend anyone to get a doula especially if it’s your first birth or are trying for a different kind of delivery process because doulas help the partners provide supportive measures to you during the birthing process that they may not know or think of. Doulas help provide you with fresh perspective or ideas for your birth plan; They help you through each process of your birth regardless of the outcome.
Lizbeth R: Natasha and Shantel are incredible. Words cannot describe the amazing service they provided. They went above and beyond my expectation of doulas as my first time hiring doulas. They are the most strongest and supportive women I have ever encountered. I felt heard and cared for during my vbac experience and even when things did not go how I wanted them to go ( repeat c section 😞) Natasha gave me the emotional support I needed and was always available to speak to. They are truly the best doulas serving Worcester, Ma. Thanks so much for being my doulas.
Amber Fredette: Natasha is an amazing birth doula. When I first learned I was pregnant, I was excited, but anxious. I realized I needed more support than just medical staff. From our first meeting, my husband and I knew that Natasha was a kind, caring, and compassionate individual who would work with us to have the best birth experience possible.I appreciated that Natasha immediately acknowledged my husband, recognized his important role, and included him in everything. She explained that she, my husband, and I were a team. I was encouraged to know that Natasha and my husband would support me in my journey leading up to and including birth. They would be the loving faces I would be able to look to during what I knew would be a difficult and painful time.Prior to the delivery of our child, Natasha helped us to understand more about birth and all the possible options we had in the hospital setting we chose. That was a unique experience for us: that instead of promoting a specific way of doing things, Natasha just put the options out there and gave us the evidence to study in order to make our own informed decisions. Natasha then helped us make a birth plan that reflected our choices. Furthermore, she helped my husband and I learn how to advocate for myself and our child in the appointments leading up to, during, and after our child's birth. This was empowering.During the birth, she was the emotional and spiritual support that both my husband and I needed: helping to explain our options as they came and providing non-stop comfort measures. Even when unexpected challenges arose, she was there to explain, support, and comfort. After birth, Natasha continued to provide help and additional resources for us regarding my postpartum recovery and our new role as parents.Overall, what we appreciate about Natasha is that she was a compassionate, calm, composed, dedicated and firm supporter and upholder of us and our birth plan. We could not have done it without her.
Maria Jose Jimenez: The decision to hire a doula for my second labor wasn't a doubt. We knew we needed that support again no matter what. Natasha was exactly what we needed. Her calm manner and endless level of expertise helped us throughout the process until the very lovely end.  I got diagnosed with cholestasis and that put us in a different perspective/position on how the process will look like and also how we planned our delivery. The meetings we had before the baby was born answered many questions as well as provided me with considerations I had not thought of before. Natasha was unbiased and informative and helped us form a plan that met our needs at the moment, which changes every day. She did great at responding quickly to my hundred of concerns and questions over the phone which helped us ask our midwife more detailed questions during my last appointments. Due to my induction process and how quickly I went into the pushing labor Natasha just walked (ran!) into the delivery room just in time for the last phase of pushing; she provided me exactly what I needed at that moment(honey sticks, cold cloth on my forehead, she took turns with my husband to gave me sips of water between contractions and shared the words of encouragement that I needed to hear.  Thanks to my husband and Natasha, I bonded with my baby the way I felt comfortable right away.  Her experience, warmth, and passion made it a joy to share such a special and wonderful time in our lives. Thank you Natasha from the bottom of our hearts.  We are glad it was you with us on another special day of our lives.
Sabrina Ruelle: In my 3rd trimester of my 1st pregnancy my husband and I got an opportunity to purchase a family home about 2 hours away. This meant changing our whole care team while just trying to navigate what having a baby looked like - which was pretty scary and we were overwhelmed. Which is why we thought it may be worth hiring a doula. From the start Natasha was fantastic she gave us great local recommendations and helped both my husband and I emotionally prepare for birth. We ended up getting induced 3 weeks early due to preeclampsia - When the time came Natasha she helped us think through the difficult decisions in a way that helped us feel in control of the situation and more significantly she helped my husband and I prepare to work as a team. She helped make labor easier with her calming spirit essential oils techniques and experience. With Natasha our labor was filled with so much love and teamwork even though everything didn't go as planned she helped us through every moment we are forever grateful.
Casey Leach: I could not imagine going through my very long labor without Nastasha. Don’t let her size foil you, her strength and stamina are amazing. Natasha applied hard counter pressure on my lower back for hours on end and was always right there when the contractions started. She was so easy to talk to and to give guidance on what I needed. The main reason we wanted a doula was to help my husband be the best possible labor support person. Natasha was an amazing teacher and showed Chris how to apply pressure and where. When our home birth changed to a hospital birth, Natasha sprang into action helping us pack and gave my husband amazing pointers and tips. When we were at the hospital, we were so grateful for her continued support via text message.Honestly, there is no doubt in my mind that every couple going through labor should have a doula by their side. I would highly recommend Natasha to be that person.
Noely França: Natasha Trapp has been part of my family since my first pregnancy. And I can't see myself going through pregnancy journey without her wonderful care and wise and knowledgeable words of advice. I wouldn't have the confidence I had in each pregnancy without Natasha by our side, that's why I always recommend her services to all pregnant woman I encounter.
Christine A: Natasha Trapp is an exceptional doula. She is calm, patient and offers exceptional support in labor. We worked with Natasha throughout our pregnancy in 2020. Natasha’s expertise enabled our safe, smooth home birth. My biggest concern in having a home birth was around pain management: would I be able to handle the intensity of labor? Natasha’s support specifically addressed this concern. She helped us prepare mentally and emotionally for birth, and then from the moment she arrived at our birth, her pain management support was invaluable. Natasha was able to materially reduce the pain I felt during labor, empowering me to keep my strength and focus. As the intensity of labor dialed up, Natasha’s calm expertise and ability to directly address challenges I was facing. Her peaceful demeanor is a juxtaposition to her heroic physical strength. She combined counter-pressure and soothing words to help me overcome the most intense contractions. She never wavered, remaining a steadfast presence of positivity and support. One of the most valuable parts of working with Natasha was her support processing the birth, several days later. She visited us and helped us recall and process labor and birth - immensely valuable in the sleepless fog of new parenthood, while trying to understand and process a life-changing event! Her perspective, questions and guidance helped us feel ready and confident to continue forward with this new journey!I highly recommend working with Natasha, and look forward to working with her again in the future.
Brittany Morgan: Being our first child my husband I felt a little overwhelmed with trying to advocate for ourselves for our ideal birth experience. We had our hearts set on a natural birth with minimal medical intervention but realized late in my pregnancy this may hard to achieve in the hospital with both my husband and I focused on my labor. We met with Natasha at 38 weeks and immediately felt so much relief knowing that we had her in our corner to help explain our options and guide us through labor and delivery. She always made us feel informed and most importantly supported in any decision we made and helped us through prenatal and postnatal questions on top of the labor and delivery. She was there just as much for my husband as she was for me and our baby. My husband says hiring a doula was the best thing we ever did. Thank you Natasha for allowing us to look back on our birth experience with so much positivity even during a pandemic.
Anton Novikov: Natasha is an amazing doula. I don't regret a minute we hired her as she helped my wife and I tremendously during the labor and delivery making the overall process is less stressful and much more confident. Natasha is very knowledgeable doula. As we were expected our first child, Natasha gave us a lot of useful information. Natasha has a great personality; she is very soft, polite and professional. She never pushed us towards any decisions, she is great as a support person. I highly recommend her as a doula for couples. A++ service!
Madina Madraimova: Natasha is an amazing person and a wonderful doula! She supported me throughout the last months of my pregnancy, taught me and my husband various techniques on how to cope with pain during the delivery, tremendously helped on the day of baby arrival and stayed with us for over 15 hours us until our baby was born. She is so encouraging and understanding! She also visited me postpartum and helped me to cope with the "baby blues" by listening and supporting! We are so grateful to her and couldn't be happier with her services!
Jenny Citrin: Natasha was a calming and supportive presence. I wanted an unmedicated birth and while I didn't end up getting that I did get to the hospital at 10cm. I attribute this to our preparation and also to knowing that we had the additional support from Natasha to stay at home as long as we wanted. Natasha helped once we were in the hospital to make sure that my birth plan was followed or if I was ok with changes recommended by the hospital team. My husband didn't see the need for a doula at first but he was happier than anyone that Natasha was there. He felt so much support and ease from her presence that he was better able to support me. Thank you Natasha!
Sarah Farrell: When I became pregnant with my daughter, I was considering a home birth. My husband wasn’t entirely comfortable with this, so I decided that having a doula would help bridge the gap between home and hospital, as it were. I wanted to have a presence who was there to support my husband and me specifically, and who had no agenda other than to make sure the birth went as naturally, comfortably and positively as possible.Part of my wish to have a homebirth was to go unmedicated, and I knew that having a doula’s “bag of tricks” for pain management could help make that possible -- and it did! I could not have done it without the techniques that Natasha used during my labor. Furthermore, in our meetings prior to the birth, Natasha gave me tools that helped me feel empowered and informed about all possible scenarios, and how to get the clearest information from the hospital staff. I went into labor feeling confident in the information Natasha gave me beforehand, as well as physically supported through my labor and birth itself. She was also available to answer those little “nagging questions” that arise in those months prior to the birth, and helped reduce my stress and anxiety with her informed, thoughtful, and prompt answers. For these reasons, I would recommend a doula without hesitation my best friend. It is certainly possible to give birth without a doula, but the experience was so much more peaceful and natural feeling with one. Natasha in particular has a quiet strength about her that put me at ease during the entire process, which was no small feat considering I ended up being induced due to Preeclampsia! She was the perfect combination of soother and coach without being intrusive, and was also incredible at helping my husband know how best to support me. My husband and I both came away from the experience feeling like it was the best possible labor and delivery we could have had given the other interventions I needed. I can definitely attribute this in large part due to Natasha’s support not just at the birth, but throughout my pregnancy. If/when baby #2 comes around, I want Natasha by my side!

Planned Parenthood - Central Massachusetts Health Center: what do users think?
L R: Telehealth NP was amazing. She is a great advocate and understood the gravity of my situation and urgent need for referral to an outside surgeon so my situation does not turn into an emergency. I was not able to get proper referrals elsewhere to physicians that took my insurance/ and the one I got elsewhere was unwilling to take out a painful mass that prevents me from working and opted to make me “wait it out,” despite a high risk of complications/ possibility it won’t go away because of the size of this mass. I feel like this NP is in my corner and truly understands the risks and detriment the pain has on my quality of life when I have no need/ interest in preserving fertility. Thanks so much!
Maggie Odessa: RUDE ANF UNPROFFESIONAL!!
Elizabeth Lambert: Planned parenthood has helped me so much more over the years with BC and testing of many kinds, much more than my own gyno and primary. They helped me learn my body and I appreciate all the help that they give to everyone !
Faith9989 Saldivar: They do not care about womens health, I made my appointment from out of town because I am in town for work and away from my primary care provider which would throw off the birth control cycle. I drove an hour to get there because the website is flawed and they didn’t accept my appointment because it didn’t go through in their system. They did not care that I traveled an hour and the office was empty so they could have taken the time to see me. This place doesn’t stand for anything anymore, definitely not womens health! Pitiful.
laura arcini: Super friendly staff
elena h: I was originally scared to come in, and the staff made me feel so comfortable! It was truly a relieving experience. And special thanks to Kurt, he was very understanding and I could not have had my appointment experience without him.
Victor javier Mercado: Estoy llamando por teléfono para sacar una cita y nunca me contestaron la llamada más de una hora el servicio muy pésimo 😡
Shannon Burton: I am so grateful for planned parenthood and everything they do for the community. It’s a safe space, I never feel judged here or out of place, or afraid to speak up about problems. The staff here is always really pleasant and patient and very helpful!
Catherine Willows: This is why I hate getting only 3 months worth of birth control at a time. As soon as I run out it’s so difficult to get in touch with someone to re-up on my prescription. You guys need to fix up your hours on google, your never open when you say you are.
Maddy Rabita: SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! I’m a college student in the area and was looking to get an IUD inserted. I have always been skeptical of Planned Parenthood but after my experience there I have a new respect! The staff was incredible - so nice and knowledgeable. They made me feel really comfortable. Would definitely recommend going there for any girls who are looking for birth control!
S. Montilla: Amazing service and staff.
Mynx Cabaret: Not me having to wait over an hr when I had an appointment made 2 weeks in advance for 11:45 is currently 12:52 and I’m sitting in the lobby waiting. People who have checked in after me have been seen and I’m still waiting!? I’m afraid to say anything. The lady at the front desk seems to have some attitude problem.
Zack Zenon: I used to get regular testing done here when I lived in the area. The staff have always been excellent. They take the sensitive nature of their care seriously and are appreciative and respectful of people who come in for precautionary std screeening; as someone who is terrified of hospitals and medical staff but still wants to do the right thing this goes a long way for me.
Phil Trimby: This is a terrific organization providing aid to pregnant women with needs. They provide counseling, ultrasound, financial assistance and more.I've supported their efforts for women financially for years now.
Mary Diaz: Got my iud removed here last year. Got another put in today and it was a great experience both times. Karen made me feel comfortable and explained every step of the process. I will never go anywhere else. Everyone was pleasant from the security guard to the receptionists.
Desiree Levesque: I had a copper paraguard IUD placed in late September 2018. From start to finish, it was a great experience. Every member of the staff is amazing, from the security guard, the receptionists, the medical assistants, nurses, doctors....everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, helpful and kind.My procedure was a bit difficult due to scarring from a different procedure 13 years earlier, but the ultrasound technician, doctor and resident all helped me through the discomfort with breathing exercises and talking me through each step and made every effort to minimize the discomfort with medication (paracervical block). Using the ultrasound helped ensure that the IUD was perfectly positioned which was very reassuring. Thanks to the ACA and my health insurance through work, my total out of pocket costs came to maybe $75 for 10-12 years of highly effective, set it and forget it birth control.I drove 90 minutes each way to visit Planned Parenthood for this procedure b/c they are highly professional and the foremost experts in women's health services and I am extremely happy with the results.Planned Parenthood has been there for me for 20 years for a range of services like low cost birth control pills, women's health exams, pap smears, std screenings, Plan B, and now an IUD. Thank you.
Casey Patterson: If I could give zero, I would. After a religious lecture and including my boyfriend in a private lite chat in the hallway without my permission or knowledge when I made it clear I didn't want him in the room, they sent me home telling me I wasn't pregnant. They did a urine test and an ultrasound.Five days later I was rushed in to emergency surgery for a 9 week ectopic that almost killed me.Never, ever, ever go here. I've contacted them and was hung up on, told I had the wrong office, and not a single of my mailings and emails were responded to.
Melonie Pitisci: Do not go here if you have Nexplanon birth control implant in your arm. It expires at 3 years and when you go to get it removed they will tell you its good for 4 years. WHICH IS A LIE! ITS ONLY 3 YEARS. Because I listened to them i had to take time off from work to go to a surgeon to get sedated to get it removed because it was too deep to be removed the normal way because it stayed in longer than it was supposed to. I went to an OBGYN and they said there has not been studies that says it can be in for 4 years due to that reason. For any birth control needs go see a real OBGYN not this place!
Brittany Wilkinson: My experience here was dreadful. I felt like no one was supportive. When I got the results of the pregnancy test and proceeded to say I wanted to terminate, I was given a phone number to call and a packet of info I could have googled online. Then i was asked if there were any questions and that was it. I wish I never went to this place. You people need to learn how to treat others.
Pongsa Tube: Staffs are very professional, very supportive and understanding during this hard time.
sarah odunfa: It takes them forever to attend to you👿
