Heather Pierce: I heard about this store because I live in a small nearby town that has a dance studio & my oldest daughter has been in dance for years. It was actually recommended by the owner of the studio. I know a lot of the dancers get shoes & accessories from this shop, so I decided to get my daughter a gift certificate for here, so that she could pick out some new ballet shoes for her upcoming birthday. I called first to ask whether they had gift certificates available, I got a recording but I did receive a call back & it was confirmed that they did have them. I took a ride there with my partner & two younger daughters. This was at least a year ago, maybe longer, so I'm guessing my daughter's were probably 4 & 2 at that time. Not knowing how long it might take to get the gift certificate, plus wanting to "poke around" to see what they had, I figured it might take a few minutes, so rather than have my partner & children wait in the car, I had them come inside the store with me. I did tell my older of the two girls not to touch anything prior. My youngest wasn't speaking yet, as she has special needs. As we approached the entrance, a woman who was with a young girl were leaving the store. No other customers were inside. I noticed the store wasn't very big, but did have a decent variety of dance gear, including leotards, tutu's, hair accessories & shoes, etc. I only looked briefly before going up to the counter to mention the gift certificate. The woman behind the counter was not "overly friendly" to us, and immediately more or less "scolded" my daughter for touching the glass countertop/display case where the cash register was. She was supposedly concerned about her breaking the glass & getting cut. However, she could have been much more polite about this. Not to mention, my daughter had barely touched it (I doubt a 4 year old could really cause any damage!) & I hadn't even had a second to tell her myself not to. As I had previously mentioned, I did tell my daughter not to touch things, but you know how kids are, especially at that young of an age. But it wasn't as if she was leaning on or banging on the glass, she literally skimmed it with her fingers. Being a store that sells children's dance items, you'd think they'd be a bit friendlier & more familiar with kids of all ages, but this woman was obviously not the kindest or most patient, or maybe she was just having a bad day. Either way, I felt like she could have gone about it in a much gentler way. Maybe more like "Can you please not touch the glass?" I can't remember what she said word for word, but it was definitely overreacting in my opinion. My girls were very well behaved in the store. It's not as if they were running around touching everything, or hiding in clothing racks. Bottom line was, gift certificates were available & easy to get. You can get them in whatever amount you choose. They're an actual paper certificate & look very nice, not just a basic plastic gift card. So they will write in the amount you'd like upon request. This way there's no pressure to spend a lot, if you weren't planning on it. They did have what looked like quality dance gear. However, I will say it was a little high priced. Not outrageous, but not the least expensive either. Some things seemed fairly reasonable, while others were a bit much. Luckily, many department stores (such as Walmart) sell girl's leotards & even dance shoes now, so if you are on a budget, that may be a better way to go. But if you have a child in dance, it's worth checking this place out if you're in the area. I like that the woman wasn't following us around the store, or pressuring us to buy anything. I just wish she wasn't so short with my daughter. Other than that, an overall decent experience here. Got what I came for & my daughter was happy with her gift certificate & did pick out some new ballet shoes. Only reasons for not giving more stars are because of the prices & attitude of the sales associate.

AND her daughter Ariana!!!!They welcome you in like family because you will absolutely become family!!!! The staff is spectacular besides the amazing teachers they have amazing student teachers as well and those student teachers are so good with the kids especially the younger kiddos. My daughter is on her 4th season of dance at 4years old!!!!! My girl lives for dance and she can't wait to go to dance everytime!!! We recently had our recital and pet me tell you when you see your child up there doing an amazing routine tears will come chills will happen and only big smiles everywhere!!!! I'm so happy we found this studio we will never look back!!!

The age grouping they do is spot on and RECITAL DAY (which is so special) makes you feel all the feelings and confirms the classes were worth every penny. We signed our kiddo up for summer clinics (they have backbend ones and cartwheel ones) and we look forward to the fall session of musical theater and tap/ballet again!

She dealt with some social anxiety in the beginning and they were so kind and untiring to her all the staff are amazing and go above and beyond she blossomed without the year and to see her on stage at recital I couldn’t thank chickees enough she did amazing!! She was so excited for recital and they made it so exciting for the girls. The recital went off without a hitch and was so professional so many compliments about the studio from my family and how smooth it was even the dress rehearsal they know 100 percent what they are doing. She’s so comfortable now and loves it she wants to join the competition team. If you are not already at chickees your at the wrong studio I can’t recommend them enough!! AMAZING!!!!
