Dana Town Common: what do users think?
Rod “Gypsy13rrr”: Loved the info about the past.
Kenneth Arslen: Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry FreeMore
Michael Rioual: Very nice quiet area
ashlee (Cjba): Very cool a must visit nice trail easy walk
Claire Cote: When we FINALLY got there (Dana Common) it was deeply moving, so sad.,devastating. But... Nicely preserved. Driving in or at least halfway, would make it much MORE doable. 😂😅😥(we're not young anymore 😥)
Tina McVeigh: This was a great place to check out! Lots of history
Arthur Conley: Great place to walk or bike and explore history
Brian Gorman: Haunting, beautiful - a place that stays with you and will have you hungrily researching for more details. There is a lot of lore and hidden gems on the grounds, too, and discovering them is a Stand By Me -like experience. Simply wonderful.
Rebecca Rice: Gate 40 to Dana Commons is a beautiful walk. There are many foundation ruins and side trails to explore.
Keith Robinson: very nice way to commemorate what was once there
Courtney Fahlbeck: One of my favorite hikes at the Quabbin. Hike 4-5 miles past the center to the water's edge if you want to see some Eagles soaring. Better yet, take Tamplin Rd or Whitney Hill Rd(out of the town center) and go searching for the moose and deer.
Dianne Cambo: Awesome hike at the Quabbin
Robert Payer: Awesome experience to view the remaining foundations of the Town of Dana that ceased to exist in 1938 to make way for Quabin Reservoir. Beautiful area to walk down the abandoned roads of Dana.
Brian Beauvais: Interesting to see the old foundations and photos of old buildings.
David Pascucci: Dana Common is very interesting and a little sad. What was once a small but active community was eradicated in the 1930's so the Quabbin Reservoir could be constructed.
Aurelian Ardashir: Above water, what a waste.
Michael Masci: Cool place to check out
Dori Robbins: A beautiful and historic place to visit.
Steve Holmes: Nice walk in the snow. Lots of animal tracks deer fox coyote and possibly a mountain lion. It was so beautiful with the fresh snow and my awesomely sexy wife by my side
David Outhuse: A nice bike ride to the common. Lots of interesting history here.
Michelle MacGray: Amazing place to see the remains of an old town. Also, sad to think of all the families that had to leave their homes.
