Benjamin Van Kuren: Tried to use this home inspection service as we are in our 10 day option period and the company had good reviews. Apparently, our meeting was written down wrong in a calendar and other family issues came up despite getting a confirmation text message. That happens but we can't get back the childcare and work arrangements we made to be there. It took us an hour and a half before we were able to track someone down just to find out we were cancelled on. We were able to find a more cost effective firm that our realtor recommended in the end.

David Nguyen: Randall came over to conduct an inspection on a property in Hitchcock, TX. He discovered that the property appeared to be "flipped" and had signs of botched repair work. He also found multiple fire safety hazards and repairs that were not performed to code. It gives me peace of mind knowing all of the problems so that I can make an informed decision on purchasing the property. The sellers did not previously disclose any of the defects. This is the 3rd time that I have obtained a property inspection and Randall is by far the most detailed inspector that I have come across. Bradley Holmberg: Randall was fantastic and his price was great . He went through the entire house for 3hrs and wrote up a great report. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain what he was seeing and potential mitigations. He was realistic when he noticed items and called them out a "cosmetic not in the report but you might want to look at it" versus "defect that will be noted on the report". He found items I never thought to look for like "Ambering" in the attic indicating temperatures in excess of 140F and gave great advise on what minimal amount of ventilation was needed to address it. He was very thorough checking every single AC vent in the house to look for anything abnormal and opening every window he could. I strongly recommend using Recon Home Inspections and will use him in the future as well.

Matt DeYoung: Our neighbor was having her home inspected before her one year warranty expired and I ran out and quickly asked if Randall (Recon) could come by and do ours as well. Wow. How lucky we were to have found him and that he made himself available at such short notice. He was so thorough. Remepol: Randy did a home inspection for me today as a home buyer. I had called him initially concerned about a leak in the home I was interested in, and he had given me some really good input about my concern just over the phone. When I got the home under option, I was able to set up an inspection with him two days later (on a Sunday!). He was very systematic and detailed in examining the home, and he allowed me to walk with him and see what he was seeing. He explained the issues very thoroughly, what to look for, what to be concerned about, what maintenance to do as a homeowner going forward. I have never bought a home on my own before, and I felt like I learned a ton as well as getting a really good evaluation of this home's particular issues. He was extremely pleasant and I would refer my friends to call him if they need help looking at a house.

Jeffrey Moreland: Randall is the best home inspector we’ve ever had! When the gas was found to be not in service mid-inspection he advised us to cancel the inspection so that we could reschedule. This advice not only saved us hundreds in inspection costs but it was also advice that was offered with our best interests in mind. Having your customer’s interest in mind above your own is the best possible customer service you could ask for! Not to mention, we later discovered that he drove over an hour, each way, and arrived early for our inspection. A week later, when we were again scrambling for an inspector, he made time for our second attempt at a home inspection. He once more drove an hour each way, arrived early, and very thoroughly informed us of everything we needed to know during the inspection.The inspection report was easy to read and straight to the point! That was a big relief since we had a clear distinction between major and minor issues with plenty of pictures to illustrate what we may have forgotten during the inspection. He even used some of the pictures taken during the first inspection attempt, to our benefit, showing some puddles that weren’t present during the second inspection. The icing on the cake was when he called a few weeks later, before we closed on the house, to follow up with us regarding the electrician the seller used. This follow up allowed us to make a more educated decision moving forward with the house before it was too late. Not every inspector goes to these lengths for their customers which is why Randall is the best!

Alex Goins: I sent a text to setup an inspection and got a response within the hour with an estimate. Not only was the price cheaper than another inspection company I called, but the time was also sooner. On the day of inspection, everything went smoothly and i was pleased with his thoroughness and professionalism. He took pictures of everything, pointed out minor details, and patiently answered all of my questions. I had some concerns about a possible foundation issue and he brought out a laser level to check for uneven floors. The final report was very complete with pictures and descriptions of the issues organized by category (electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.) with a summary page at the top highlight the major and minor issues. Overall, I was very pleased and would recommend him to anyone.
