Ash Lane Farm: what do users think?
Elaine Griffith: It has been a few years since my daughter was on a horse, but she loved every minute she was learning to ride and working with Marykay and her sweet horses! Very dedicated people at this beautiful farm.
Elizbeth McNeil: Lovely place
Marcia Triggs: The finest place for horses and their people you could ever hope for- Everything about this place is perfect. My review would be pages and pages if I wrote about everything that I find wonderful; I’ll leave it at this with its five star rating.

Canterberry Acres: what do users think?
Jessica White: My daughter started her riding journey here. During her short start we had 4 different riding instructors. That’s right 4 different instructors all with different riding techniques and styles. This made it hard for my beginner to actually learn when she is being told it’s this way or that way. The last instructor was doing good. We were getting good form and structured lessons, until she left to go to a different barn. You would think being a client there the owner would have contacted us about continuing lessons , nope! Which I am glad she didn’t and we found a different barn. My daughter was upset as she loved the horse she rode there but tbh The lesson horses at this barn are older and don’t like to move faster than a walk, trained to follow the instructor around so don’t worry about learning how to steer. Looking back our overall experience was distasteful and we should have looked for a new place sooner.
Beth J: Beautiful property and Carol is a great/kind hearted woman
Townie Mike: Great place to take kids for lessons
A Acher: I recently had my daughter’s 5th birthday at Canterberry Acres. Carol and Michelle are awesome. My daughter is obsessed with unicorns and Michelle dressed the horses as unicorns for her party. All the kids had a blast and it I couldn’t have asked for a better party. Her birthday is in March so the weather can be unpredictable, however we didn’t have to worry because they have an indoor arena just in case. The kids also loved seeing the chickens and goats on the farm. Thank you to all the staff.
Wendy W Smith: This is my happy place. I come here to decompress and enjoy my horse. My horse is very relaxed here and happy just to be a horse. The trainers are all very helpful and work together to insure students get the best education. I love Canterberry Acres!
bat1831: Amazing people and great place for lessons. As an adult who is going thru the humbling experience of going "back to basics " its wonderful being in a non- judgemental environment. ❤️🐎
Courtney Spurrier: My family and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon here and it was simply one of the best days we’ve ever had. We are from Texas and no strangers to ranches and horse farms, however this place is 100% magical. Carol is amazing and had my kids riding English in no time at all. Not only did they ride but were taught everything they need to know from top to bottom. It was in such a way that they totally retained the information and were so excited to learn more. We cannot wait to go back... it may be tomorrow 😉
Dewey Sasser: Both of my daughters learned to ride there, and have excellent skills because of it! My older daughter still keeps her horse there.

Vintage Mare Stables: what do users think?
My Attt: 5 weeks Carol had me clean stables, the saddle room and care for my assigned horse. Never once did I ever recieve a lesson or ride. Listened to her yelling all the time a sweet old man working at the farm.
Supriya Padki: I do not recommend this establishment. It is not somewhere I would want to train.
Allison Hart: If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Vintage Mare Stables is a thoughtful and welcoming environment that really focuses on your relationship with the horses and your ability to understand and communicate with them. Prior to coming to the stables I knew absolutely nothing about horses, but Carol and Tom have been so patient and informative, I have learned so much in a short period of time! I can't say enough about Vintage Mare Stables its truly a great barn!
Haley Campbell: Such an amazing barn. Everyone there is so kind and patient. I’m very inexperienced around horses and I felt so comfortable and supported thanks to the owner Carol. I highly recommend this barn to anyone who might not know much about horses but have a true interest in learning. This place is so amazing for beginners and new comers.
Nicole Davis: When I was looking specifically for a place to go and volunteer with a possibility to lease; a place with no drama and no kid's, I couldn't believe Vintage Mare Stables was literally in my backyard. Carol, the owner, has been terrific from day one. I started out volunteering my help around the farm and now I lease one of her horses (and still volunteer). Her horses are happy and well cared for. She truly takes the time to get to know you and to match you to a horse. Everyone I have encountered there unconditionally enjoys their time on the farm. There really is no drama, no negativity, no kid's, and no one competing against one another. A place to go, relax and get connected with horses in a beautiful setting.
Julia Hart: I love this barn! It is a great enviornment and Carol is wonderful. I feel so lucky to have found this place!
Carleen Hart: I feel so fortunate to have found Vintage Mare Stables. I have always loved horses, but had never ridden until recently. Carol the owner is so patient and considerate teaching myself and my adult daughters all about horses. The barn is such a relaxing place, and everyone is so welcoming and supportive. There is no drama, and it is a stress free environment. Carol is kind to the horses and teaches safety first. We are so happy to have found such a wonderful place.
Rowan Hershberger: I leased a horse named Doc Holiday at this farm and had a terrible experience with the owner Carol. There's constant screaming at the barn and you rarely get a quiet moment. It's so high stress that myself and others have been pushed to tears by how poorly we were treated. Don't go here, it's not worth the abuse.I know many of the folks who have left positive reviews, and Carol has talked bad about almost every one of them behind their backs. This ain't right.
Ariel Hartstein: Vintage Mare is a one of a kind barn! Whether you have ridden before or not once in your life, Vintage Mare will help you reach whatever goal you want to achieve! At Vintage Mare, you’ll have the space and time as well as the training to build your confidence on and off the horse! The owner, not only allows for bonding time with your horse, she encourages it which is in stark contrast to the format of most other barns where you are usually one of 6 or 7 other riders that day and all you get is a 40 minute lesson.I love being able to visit my (leased) horse all the time. One of the best parts about Vintage Mare is the low key atmosphere. There is no fuss and no drama. We are adult mature woman that want to enjoy being with our horses and that’s it!I would highly suggest you come and see this hidden gem for yourself.I do want to make a comment about this FAKE review below by “Kendra Sweitzer— this person has NEVER been to Vintage Mare and actually resides in Maryland. Her REAL NAME is Rowan Hershberger and unfortunately she was not a good fit and as such was asked to leave after several months. She is no longer part of the barn.
Doris Landry: Thank you for offering a wonderful service to mature women like myself who love horses and never had the opportunity to learn horsemanship and riding. Searched many farms, big barns and backyard operations and finally found Vintage Mare Stables which is exactly what I needed! Relaxed, professional, beautiful, HAPPY horses which have the best care and great life. The people are wonderful and Carol is very selective to make sure prospective clients are a good fit which I really appreciate. People have been there a long time and have beautiful relationship with their lease horse and I never would have been able to experience anywhere else. No Drama or Queens at this barn.
Kendra Sweitzer: I do not recommend this barn. Too much drama
cindylou gergler: I found Vintage Mare Farm 9 months ago and I am so grateful that I did. I started out volunteering and now I am leasing to own. The energy at the farm is very relaxing and healing. There is no drama. Carol cares deeply about horses and the connection that they have with humans. She fosters a safe and comfortable opportunity for people to bond with the horses as well as learn about horsemanship. Carol and her herd have changed my life.
Vaune Lewis: I searched for a barn for more than a year, looking to lease a horse. I found a lot of facilities focused on showing but could not find one focused on fun. An Ad for Vintage Mare showed up in my Facebook feed, and I’m so happy I followed up. Carol’s horses receive the best care, her barn and her arena are beautiful and the trail system is large and well managed. I have been leasing one of Carol’s horses for nearly a year and am so happy to have found a place that feels like home. Great camaraderie! Good friends. Beautiful happy horses.
