Central Rock Gym: what do users think?
D L: Some of the staff are friendly some of them are very cold and sometimes out of line, it is a clean gym and has good variety. They have team nights several times a week where they let the teams completely take over certain areas of the walls which is super frustrating if you want to work on a problem in that area specifically. I have been to many gyms and this membership is a bit overpriced for the gym you’re getting.Otherwise, never a bad time.
Flaherty Physical Therapy: We just did our quarterly meeting at the Central Rock Gym in Worcester! We were a bunch of indoor rock climbing newbies, but Hank and Duncan made the experience a great time. A lot of us challenged ourselves to doing something out of our comfort zone. Awesome time and thanks again! Would highly recommend this for a team building activity!
Tim Hatton: I showed up an hour before closing on Saturday and found the gym to be ideally active: not too busy, but not a ghost town. 😉The waiver approval process was easy. Clara was super helpful, informing me on proper gym etiquette and how to safely use the auto-belays.Since I am a beginner, I especially appreciated the variety of different climbing puzzles for all skill levels!
Alisa Nurkanovic: Awesome, so much fun. Deff get a staff member to assist you, it will make your first time so much better. Erica was ours and she was great! Thanks!
Kristine Auwers: Nice gym. Good atmosphere, route setting and variety.
Michael Kozlowski: Great spot to meet even greater people. Climbing atmosphere is great, two buildings with climbing and small gym setups. They even have a third building with yoga class 7 days a week! Can’t beat it value wise and quality wise, amazing.
Jonathan Bott: We love this place! My girls ask to come here whenever we're in town. A few hours of climbing does wonders for them. Such a cool activity and CRG has plenty for all ages.Reasonable rates for a day pass (we usually climb for about 2 hours). Clean facilities and a great helpful staff.
Ben Caulfield: Great bouldering and top rope in all styles. Even some autobelay for losers like me who can't find a belay partner.
Molly Kolb: A great place for experienced climbers. And lots of runs for the beginners!
Hb Hb: Goodnice place to work out and have fun
Michael Kane: Great rock climbing gym. Our children have been really interested in rock climbing so we signed up for a membership. The facility is very nice with a wide variety of routes and plenty of space. There is a nice workout area with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebell, and machines. A smaller building has a variety of bouldering routes and another workout area. Friendly staff, and a clean facility.
Matt Last: I have to say it was amazing. Super friendly staff & great time for adults, kids, & familys. Flawless afternoon fun.
Robert Hoyt (Oliver Wendell): Liked the climbing
A D.: Central Rock Gym is awesome! We had the pleasure of working with Erica and John. They helped my wife and I feel prepared and confident on our first visit to the gym. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!
Nik Carlson: Great and challenging experience. This was my first time at this location and the third climbing gym I’ve been to. This was by far the friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve encountered.I only did the bouldering, and certainly didn’t get bored. Plenty of challenging routes and having two buildings to explore was awesome.Definitely recommend this gym.
Adam Mickey: Great staff and good setters, has a second building with only bouldering and bouldering in the main section with also top rope, lead and auto belay. Not a lot of lead routes, but some good cave climbs if you like leading overhang routes. 35ft walls mostly with 40ft tower in the middle. Small upstairs section with beginner walls for children climbers as well, probably 15-20 ft tall. The best gym in the area, because there really aren't many others without drive 30+ minutes.
Leah Nicole: Had every intention of going but maybe they’re so popular they have to jack up the prices. I went from asking my friend if they wanted to go rock climbing to, nvm it’s too pricey. $25 and nothing is included..... great gym if you have all your equipment.
Chad Chviek: I love Central Rock Gym. Great place to do indoor climbing
Annie Schafer: I’ve been a member for about 7 months now, and I really love this place. The community atmosphere is kind and welcoming. The staff is very informative and personable. Routes are changed often, and allows a diverse range for those of different climbing abilities!
meg sun: Nice rock climbing gym
Lewis Family: Lead climbing with Adam was a great experience. The gym is clean, diverse, friendly and knowledgeable. Climbing here is for all ages, and skillsets encluding the beginner and the expert.

Central Rock Gym: what do users think?
Erin B: We’re in town for a week, so decided to stop by to check out the local gym scene. Right away, we were blown away by the price of a day pass for this gym. Coming from SLC which has some of the best gyms in the country with day pass prices ranging from $22-$29 depending on the gym… CRG’s price was definitely a shock. You pay $26, which doesn’t include rental gear, for a single day pass. The gym itself is fairly small and built into a pit in the ground. While the setting is fun and challenging, there is just not a lot of value here to justify a $26 day pass. My understanding is that they charge that much in order to push people to buy memberships, which is something that only works when you’re local to the area. The day pass price aside, the facility itself was okay, setting was good, and the community of local climbers hanging out was awesome. A solid 3/5 star climbing gym. My rating would definitely go up to 5 stars if the day pass price point was $10-$15.
Aaron: Great for bouldering without lots of kids
Daniel McCusker: I think it's pretty fire brah
Robert Brandon: One of my favorite gyms in the MA CRG circuit! Setters do an absolutely amazing job of setting inside the box for kids and adults of all sizes.
Ryan Galasso: Very clean and inviting space. Great variety of different boulder problems. Friendly and helpful staff. Along with rock climbing there was ping pong and a wonderful schedule of classes.
Jimmy Robbins: Just started rock climbing and the gym here is great. Bouldering only, and all different difficulties to try out. The service is great at the front desk - above and beyond. When I needed to charge my phone they had no problem helping me out!
Mike Dale: Super happy there's a gym out here! Though it does have only bouldering routes, there's a new set every Thursday. If you're jonesing for some top rope or lead, the Watertown gym isn't far. This is the easiest-graded gym I've been to in the CRG family, but honestly that's a boon. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family who are just trying climbing out; they'll almost certainly have something to climb within their capabilities. Staff are amazing too!
Stormer Santana: One of my favorite CRG's. Seemed to have a fun amount of V3-5!
Alex Peacher: Love this gym! The setting is amazing, and everyone is so nice.
Arthur Tavares Quintão: Kind staff and average facilities. Unfortunately their subscription plans force you to pay two months of usage. If you are travelling or visiting your family in the region forget about it, Central Rock Gym is not for you. Moreover, in terms of Covid-19 safety the space can be pretty crowded and no windows or doors were open to let the air circulate.
Chris Dudak: Friendly, helpful staff, and a very relaxed environment.
Adam Ganderson: Super friendly, comfortable, and welcoming to noobies!
Eli MWA: A really fun place to go and relax while working out. The climbs here change every week so things are always kept fresh. The staff here is also super friendly.
Alex Sun: Crg Framingham is a really greatand beginner friendly gym with only boulders. The problems are fun, staffs are friendly. I brought some of my friends who are new to climbing here and they all liked it. The grading might be easier than other crgs(Boston, Hadley, Cambridge, Randolph, Watertown, Warwick) I’ve been to but that boost my confidence so why not.
Adam Kurihara: Great climbing gym for bouldering. They have aerobic machines and a weight room as well. Very nice and always clean! Got my membership here and I can visit any of the CRG network gyms, which is super convenient because there are a dozen scattered throughout the greater Boston area. Friendly staff and new routes set every week keep me coming back for more! Now if only I could get better at climbing!
Peilan Wang: Great place to bring friends never done climbing before, and also lots of problems for all level climbers. Great staff and very organized gym.
m beeman: Great community, great route setting. Awesome gym if you live or work in the area, but well worth the drive even if you don't. The problems are really fun and inventive, feel I've greatly improved my climbing visiting here.
Madeline Leckie: Awesome bouldering gym. Never crowded, friendly staff, and really good problems.
Rob King: Amazing bouldering gym. The gym is super new and the staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. The walls are reset frequently and there is a really nice community but it's never too packed like some of the other gyms.
Joseph Kenney: This CRG Framingham location is perfectly located off the Pike, and they make the most of the cramped space that they have. The aisles between the walls are a bit narrow, but overall there is a good variety of routes and top rope/bouldering available.
Rob Evans: I have had a membership at central rock gym for the past few months and going there has been a highlight of my week since day one. I didn’t even acknowledge how much I loved to climb until I started, it truly is a blast and an excellent workout for all kinds of people. After having some health issues over the last couple of months I unfortunately have not been able to go to the gym. When I called to postpone my membership it was handled in an excellent fashion that really helped me feel like a valued member of this gym. I am so grateful for the support given by Harry and am excited to get going rock climbing again here in the future when I’m all healed up. Five stars indeed! Thank you for excellent service.
