Spencer State Forest: what do users think?
Warren Burnett: A special place I've visited for years and holds many memories in my heart . Such a beautiful place year round to explore .

Robert Tirrell: Beautiful
Jason Holden: Its a dog park with short trails and a picnic areaPlayground: No playgroundRestrooms: Open when the park is open until 4pmDog-friendliness: Very dog friendlyPicnic area: Lots of tables
dawn foster: Beautifully maintained property that's not overly crowded.Dog-friendliness: Lots of folks are able to take their dogs off leash on the trail and in the Park area as they seem to be very cautious and aware of other animals and children.Picnic area: Quite a few picnic tables and barbecue units available
Richard Hidenfelter (Rich): What an amazing job they've done with the upkeep of the state Forrest at Howe Park. There's lots of trails to hike through and the scenery around the lake is beautiful.
Richard farrell: This forest is a very special and sacred place. This was a native American hunting ground. The nipmuc tribe hunted the cranberry river for Moose Bear , Deer etc. We are hoping the dam will be taken out so that this river will become free flowing again. Before the small dams cranberry river connected to Quabog river and 7 mile river it was a major fishing spot years ago
Ron Nourse: Awesome park. Easy and intermediate hiking
Kim Conley: Nice clean trails
Mark Schneider: Great trail... make sure you do the whole 2.2 miles and check out O'Gara field.
ShawnAshley Deneault: Just GREAT place to walk, and clear your mind!
Rich Green: Love walking here
Michael Watt: Nice place! Brought Mom who lives 1 mile away. First time she'd been.🙂.BUT the pine trees are all dead or dying?!😔

Jamie kass: I love it here. I've been coming here for most of my life for birthday party's or just to get some fresh air with my kids. There's so much space and it's all kept so clean and beautifully manicured. There are nice, wide, well maintained trails, there are plenty of places to run and play, or to fish, swim, hike picnic, even barbecue. There are girls and picnic tables and lots of shade available. Just a beautiful area in its entirety.

Upton State Forest: what do users think?
Cathy Harrison: Beautiful forest for a hike with your dogDog-friendliness: Must keep on leash but we remove leash frequently
Alex Karasoulos: Very nice and so beautiful. I don't like the parking lot area too much but in general it's quite a nice forest filled to the brim in wildlife. Would reccomend. Also nice to see Kingfishers at the pond :^)
Tim Callahan: Restrooms: Out 🏠 house
Julia Burke: Easy hike, lots of people and doggos.
Esteban Escobar: This was a great place, we where doing a cub scout 3-mile hike. We took a bit of a tough trail but made it through safe. Trails were tagged along the way. Only reason I gave it a 4 star was the entrance to the start of the trail was very bad shape with large holes. There is another area to park so just avoid the main parking area.
Ross Minkov: A great place to walk or trail run.
Emmy Hart: Great place to hike. Lots of trails, varying difficulty. Nothing too strenuous. Great for dogs.
Paul Smith: Very buggy—bring spray for mosquitoes. Also the main road in has huge ditches: do not use. Park in the group parking lot.
Kathy Tamalavitch: Nice walking trails. We did have to keep referring to our hiking book when we came to forks in the road. Not all trails were marked.
Janna McNeil: Couldn't get through to the parking area via CCC Road because of deep ruts. Our Kia Nero bottomed out. Parked in the trailer area instead. The trail is wide and fairly level. Lots of muddy areas. Encountered a couple of horse riders. Trailhead has maps available.
Chris Mahoney: Awsum trails, very diverse
Dresden T: This park is so beautiful and well maintained. It was however a zoo today with hoards of people. It never use to be like that. I'm happy other people are enjoying it, just miss how quiet it use to be.
Jeanne Reimonn: Nice woodland area. Lots of trails. Multi-use.
Sarah Gwozdz: As easy or difficult a hike as you want. Everything from nice wide sweeping trails to little goat paths. One of my favorite places when I want higher milage than I can get in my local conservation area. People are friendly, most people pick up after their pooches, but there's still the occasional filled bag by the trailside.
Jamie l: Local deer checking for 1st week of shotgun. Biologist was great.
Amit Jagdale: Nice serene location. Clean and beautiful.
Dana Perry: Upton State Forest is an amazing place to hike, run, bike, walk your dog....feels like you are in the far northern woods in a quiet serine place. The park road/Loop road hike is a nice 5K loop. Clockwise you have "half mile hill" about 2M into the loop. Reverse puts the hill at the end of your first mile and a nice gradual climb for the last 1.5M.Go out and back to the end of park road added to the loop and you have a 5M route.Want to do single track trails? There is lots to explore.I did all of my Appalachian Trail training here as well as my first 15M Trail race.Keep your eyes open for wildlife and remains of old settlement ruins from the 1800s.Keep in mind you need to bring water and the 10 essentials for hiking. Cell service is spotty.
Maxim Khassanov: Lots of mosquitos but it isn't like that every time, lots of path options and the paths are very wide, which is good.
Carla Stem: Lovely wooded trails, ample parking.
Mike Reed: Vary beautiful and peacfull
michael desjardins: Awesome !

Leominster State Forest: what do users think?
Jennifer Colburn: Dogs allowed on leash!!Dog-friendliness: My dog loves exploring here
Katie Bunting: It's a little tricky to hike in the snow but it is a beautiful place. The water is really beautiful and very peaceful, there aren't a ton of people walking around usually so it's fairly private on most days, especially in the winter. I do love to hike the paths here in the spring and fall. One of the major things that I love here is that I have never gotten any ticks from walking any of the paths here
Peter Cole: They claim that Bigfoot sightings in the lemonister forest. How it's not big enough. I mean rt 2 gas stations downtown lemonister fitchburg bars houses hotels airport. I mean it's not like Montana or Idaho with hundreds of thousands of woods to hide in . Am I wrong let me know I guess. 4300 acres is that alot for Bigfoot and U F O sightings..
S-Michael Tantin: Short well marked trails with some great views and unique micro habitats. Decently maintained and has picnic tables.
Micah Bolduc: A few different sections to walk along. They have a larger wide pathway similar to a cart road that makes it easy to just be hiking in a wide open peaceful space. Or you can go off onto some of the smaller trails that are not groomed like a roadway. Either way very quiet and peacefulRestrooms: No restroomsDog-friendliness: Leash law and pick up after them although it still appears some people should not have dogs as they can't even get the doggy doody off the main trail.
Zach Costa: great place to swim, fish and hike
Yuchen Zheng: Doggo loves autumn here
Kim Whamond: Some of the parking lots need a lot of attention. There are several large holes. I caught my bumper and my bumper lining ripped off. That being said, the paths are well maintained and well marked. I had a great afternoon.
Dana W: I love this relaxing place of refuge. Very quiet and nice place to yoga, meditate, or hike.
EMMNUEL J: Great place to scape from the stress of a work week. Close to every town in Worcester county, yet very hidden and refreshing.
Matt Last: Amazing clean and fun...great trails and a great hike to the top of crow hill 💗💗💗
Danny: Great hiking trails throughout the forest. There is also a pond with a beach area you can swim at. I tried mountain biking through here but it was tough due to how rocky some of the trails were.
Daniel Reilly: Alright little lake front area to go take a dip. The beach could use a good combing to make it a little easier on the feet but besides that it's a nice little hangout spot, lots of bbq area.
Juan Carlos: Always nice....
Rich Thayer: Moved out of state but came to the area for a visit. Went to this park and found out it's $30 for an out of state visitor. Listen, the park has a bathroom (that was dirty af) and lifeguards who make you get out of the water constantly. That leaves the hiking trails. There are dozens of free ones near the park. Park isn't worth it for tourists. Go elsewhere!!!
Paulo Fonseca: Really good place, clean, very nice people, and good shade.
Ramon Ham: Excellent park!!! Bonito parque.
Mea Fields: My boyfriend loves to go fishing here.
IL WV!77!M: This is a nice park. Very clean and a good size swim area and hiking trails too.Restrooms: Very cleanBarbecue: Most picknic table areas had a grill
Marcos Britos: Un desahogo muy cerca de la vida cotidiana
Captain Silvers: My absolute favorite quote spot away from the noise. Perfect spot for a cookout or a day out in the woods. Boating options and plenty of space. I'd recommend climbing the mountains and making the most of a good hike ☺️
