ExL50: Hands down the worst eye center in the general Worcester area. I know many people who stopped doing business here and today I also hit my final straw. The staff here is not trained properly on how to read or interpret insurance benefits and they will tell you it is your responsibility to figure out your own coverage. They will not place calls on your behalf because their work ethic is to do as little work as possible for as much money as possible. Eye exams are $190.00 paid up front regardless of your coverages. You are told you will receive a credit once your coverage is determined at the time they submit the bill to your carrier, rather than them verifying coverage up front to charge you the proper amount out of the gate. They are operating out of dilapidated trailers currently while they renovate their building. Pretty sloppy. Go above and beyond for your customers or be exposed for your poor work ethic. Existing or future patients be warned.

Gabriela Monge: I rarely take the time to leave a review on the sites but given the circumstances I decided to do it so that what happened to me in this place does not happen to anyone else, I have my 6-year-old girl with them and the doctors and nurses have treated her very well They have been kind to her but my bad experience is when on December 21, 2022 I order new glasses for $356 according to a full one year guarantee for the glasses and I received them around January 10 of the current year and my girl broke them around January 26 and I call the optician to ask for new ones or repair for the glasses because I was supposed to pay $356 for a guarantee for the glasses and what they came up with was that they were not responsible for not having a guarantee and indeed They were not responsible for the glasses, knowing that every business has the responsibility of a 30-day guarantee whether paid or not paid to be responsible for damage to the products and they at no time to They agreed to take responsibility, apparently I opted to change places and I asked for my daughter's recipe to take it to another place and they didn't send it, apparently I decided to go to the place and it was the only way I managed to get the recipe and I don't think I'll be back with them due to my bad experience with them, not taking responsibility when my daughter is not even a month old with her glasses
oluwaseun majekodunmi: The doctors are very nice. And I wish I could give the 5 stars but they are very underhanded in how they charge people. I came for my eye exam. Nothing you know I’m paying almost $200 for contacts I never asked for. All because they cannot give glasses at the moment because of their construction. When I ask them for a copies of my prescription they delay to the point I have to call them several times. I can imagine how they treat their more vulnerable population.

I called this office 3 times regarding setting up an appointment for eye glasses prescription , got no call and the response was that they have million calls that they have to call back and their phone is constantly ringing so they can’t get back to their existing patients in a timely fashion . And I have to wait patiently with no time frame and the best thing about their service is they r not even apologetic . Will not recommend this location to anyone.

Maria Simoes: Today I get there and the receptionist didn't even say good morning, give one mask because it's required and just said to sit down , I waited Sitting for 15 minutes and then got up so I could at least check in, but it wasn't possible because she ignored it, even though I was in front of her , is a lack of professionalism that unfortunately happens nowadays. I have been a customer there for a few years and such a thing has never happened to me, but the receptionist is another new one with black hair, the supervisor is always very nice a, that only makes people stop going there with bad costumer services skills , trying to fixed it's just the only option not question the costumers why complain online and leave, today the reviews exist to give people the opportunity to talk about their experience in less good situations not just good ones!! But that's they can't even understand. People have to be respected!!

##: Ok, so being a new customer I don’t really post reviews, and I wish I could have given this place a 5 star, but I couldn’t. For one the staff at the front desk was very friendly, Natalie especially. Anyways once Dr Feucht came in he seemed nice at first, but I felt like he was being sarcastic at times which made me feel uncomfortable especially when it was my first time there. I had been going some where else for many years but was forced to look else where because my insurance was no longer accepted, anyways I paid $130 for a contact lens exam which was extreme when in the past I’ve paid $80, and that was not only at my last eye doctor, I’ve gone other places and that was the set price... I will never do that again! Anyways so I finished my appointment and once I was done with my trial contact lenses I had called to see what my next step was, as mentioned before Natalie was very nice and she was the one speaking to me, she had told me she was still training on the contact lenses part, well it came down to her figuring out the pricing of the contact lenses when someone in the background was telling her what to do but she was being so rude to Natalie and I could hear everything she was saying to her, me personally if someone is just training on something they’re LEARNING! There’s no need for an attitude while training someone. It got to the point where I had told Natalie to not get discouraged and that she was doing a good job. I’m not sure if I will ever go back to that place, sad to say just the whole vibe was very uncomfortable.

Leah introduced herself to me and then said she had to get her supervisor because she’s still training.They came back and Leah proceeded to explain the next steps.. Justin Ambrosino: I went to Vision Source to see their specialist eye Dr for an issue that it doesn't seem your regular eye exam clinic can handle as they don't all have the device to diagnose. I had what seemed to be "binocular vision" from an eye injury after Googling my symptoms. I would get extremely dizzy driving on the highway, along with massive headaches. The Dr was able to diagnose with their special tools & then gave me items to exercise my eyes with to correct my vision. It seemed to pull my eyes back to working together and I have not had issues since. Also, the front end staff was very kind, the office is EXTREMELY clean & has a hip setting. I would definitely recommend Vision Source.
DONNA RICHER: I would have given a five-star review as my own experience was great, except when I witnessed the woman at the desk pretty much insult a gentleman and his teenaged son when they walked in without masks on. I get it… masks are required in healthcare settings, but to raise your voice for all to hear and reply so rudely, “you need a mask. Masks are required in healthcare facilities!” That is unacceptable! The man was left stunned and I swear if that were me, I’d have walked right out that door. He was speechless… obviously not having masks on him and it appeared he wasn’t sure what to do. So another woman there had to save face by telling the man she has masks they could have. Again, I get it as masks are required in healthcare settings, but some people are leaving work early to make appointments and rushing around, so they don’t always have everything they need, including masks. So, do you want the business or not? I had just spent over $1,100 the previous week at the Spencer office. A patient could easily find another optical shop. Office personnel should learn how to treat their patients and paying customers better.

Phil Young: Terrible experience. Check this out:So the pandemic has made it infinitely more difficult to schedule appointments.Okay fair enough. I manage to schedule an appointment about 4 months from the date I called. I have a poor immune system and so do the children I am living with.. so I am trying to avoid going to out for too many appointments, but Vision Source has told me that they need to renew my expired prescription.This all makes sense to me, but here’s the problem.I ran out of contact lenses before the date of the appointment. So I ask them if they can send me some more contacts, or if I can pick them up. They tell me, NO because my prescription is expired, and mind you the boy I talked to was very short with me and very rude.So I asked the kid if I could possibly come in and get some glasses, because the pair I currently own is over five years old and is beginning to fall apart.The kid once again tells me NO in a extremely unprofessional tone with a poor explanation, telling me I have to wait for an appointment.To top it all off, they told me that their system was down so they were unable to give me any information for my account.Unbelievable. Vision Source is not providing accommodations to assist those in this pandemic. Not only that, but they are so privileged that they allow their receptionists to talk to their patients like they are little children.Very unprofessional, the kid I talked to seems not to understand the struggle of a lower income person trying to protect his family and livelihood, and not does he care to learn.This reflects on the entire company as well.Horrible experience, I recommend steering clear of Vision Source. Unreliable, immature, and above all, unprofessional and unacceptable.
Milagros Vega: They send to me the contact lenses about 3 months ago due covid-19!!! They explained to me that even if my prescription was expired they can send me the contact lenses because my vision is really bad and they did it. Today I called and they refuse to sent me the contact lenses saying that is a violation because the prescription is expire....but was expire on March as well and theystill send it..... now they want me to make a test for a new one....inaceptable because they can't push me to make me a vision test and risk me to get the virus... they should have a protocole to work with those difficult cases.
Scott Johnsen: I would have liked to give 5 stars. My glasses order was wrong when they came in, the right lens was an entirely different prescription. The address the staff took down initially for shipping my contacts was incorrect (the street was misspelled and the apartment number was wrong). Even though I had to make 3 trips to Vision Source in total, these things are minutia. What really detracted from my rating was the argumentative nature of the blonde front desk girl. When I arrived today I called the store to check-in from my vehicle, I was told I was not put into the schedule. Odd, but likely a simple clerical error. I was only there to pick up glasses so if I had to wait that was fine. No big deal. Upon entering, the same girl tried to assert blame stating that people make that mistake all the time. I tried to show her this screenshot but she waved it off. If she had taken the time to look, she might have found a problem with their scheduling or texting system not aligning. Even if it looked correct on their end, I was texted on Thursday, but responded on Friday asking for an appointment for "tomorrow." When it is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday. It's that simple. It was either entered wrong by staff or the system glitched. Don't assert blame and wave me off if you don't want to hear what I have to say or see what I have to show you.That being said, the Optometrist was great. She took extra time to explain to me the pros and cons of Lasik surgery versus PRK. The girl who helped me select the glasses was great even if mistakes were made, she also allowed me to clarify the shipping address (which yet another staff botched) so I could have them sent to my address instead of picking them up. The store is very clean, and they are very conscientious about COVID precautions. I WOULD return to give them my business, and I am sure more often than not people DO forget about their appointments and come on the wrong day, but grain of salt here. I was just trying to help fix a problem, not berate anyone.

ANITA McCabe: Eye exam was great, getting sunglasses there terrible, told them I have lg pupils sensitive to light. Going on a trip to Caribbean, lens needed to be dark , upgrading my prescription in my sunglasses, just picked them up , they are yellow not even black, like my prior pair of sunglasses. Lots of money down the drain have to go somewhere else to get the lens I asked for.

Abbie White: I have high praise over the years for Forgues Doctors of Optometry for my eye needs. When I realized that my vision insurance policy was expiring at the end of the month, I was able get on the appointment cancellation list. Dr. Matt and Dr. Mark are very skilled with examining my eyes and helpful with addressing my concerns. Optician Robbie made my purchase of new glasses incredibly easy and fast. I am looking forward to a new pair of glasses that will be durable, beautiful, and functional.
Josh Steinbrecher: Don’t ever get a warranty on your glasses here. They have so many small provisions that they just won’t honor anything, and once you try and meet those conditions they make up more terms. I went there at least 3 times for a simple glasses frame that keeps breaking on me and they haven’t been able to help me other than suggest that I pay for a whole new one. It’s just frustrating. Good staff, but frustration.

michael kittredge: I went to Forgues Optical in late summer of 20. The exam was fine and thorough and correct as verified by my most recent optometrist. I then ordered glasses from their optician and it was all down hill. Upon putting on the new glasses i told her i felt that i had tunnel vision and very limited peripheral vision. She stated i needed to wear them a min. of 2wks to get used too. I have been wearing progressives for 25 yrs and never had a problem adjusting. After 2 trips back and several phone calls she said i should try the high index lens which i've always used. I paid for the increase for the lens and had exactly the same outcome. I even said it was dangerous to drive as i had no peripheral vision. She stated that it was 2 different lens company's so it was my issue. After numerous calls complaining she stated that the best they would do is 25% off another set of lenses. My latest optician looked at those glasses and what i was wearing and determined in 1 min. that the base curve was way to flat. In hindsight i should of just left the glasses there and dealt with my insurance co.
T J: This is not the first time we have driven out to pick up a pair of glasses at one of your locations and the hours on the webiste are incorrect. Please allow yourselves to take the time to update your website and google. It takes me 30min to get to worcester location. It is very difficult to pick up during the week because of the kids school and work. I thought you were open on Saturdays. It makes sense for the most part. Yes I could have called but the hours can be easily updated on your website especially since the shrewsbury location is now closed. That location had the same updating issues with the hours. As a business owner I know how people rely on google listing and its importance of updating.

Valarie Truitt: I went to Forgues awhile back for exams. Pretty satisfied - until I decided to buy a pair of glasses thru the glasses company they use in their office. Mind you it's probably been about 2 years since I purchased my frames and lenses. But problems are within the last year. They were Not Cheap ! But that's okay - it was a bit after my 60th birthday and I wanted to Splurge ! I've been wearing glasses full time since I was 7 years old ! So I picked my red frames and made sure to get lenses that were scratch resistant and with special UV protection against sun. Well they were great for awhile. Then I realized they seem to be scratching easier and easier. Then if course the pandemic hit. I could not easily get ahold of their office easily - understandingly ! I was able to have a friend who works with glasses look at my glasses for me at my home. First thing he said was that it was obvious one of the "coatings" put on - be it UV resistant or scratch resistant was definately wearing off and deteriorating and defective !! In the meantime I am out of work and desperate to have my lenses replaced - the frames are fine. I've left several messages with still no return call. I can't afford to replace the lenses right now but the frames are still okay. I would think since they sold me the frames and lenses that they would be able to put in a replacement order for just the lenses. I could then have my husband drop the frames off to have the lenses replaced since I'm currently not ambulatory and can't get in the office easily myself. I'm hoping they see this review and finally get in touch with me. I don't believe they are bad people - I just think with all that has been going on in the last year that someone just dropped the ball 😕 If at all possible Forgues I would really appreciate a call back. My cell number should be on several of your phone msgs over the last year. Thank You !!

Leda Botelho: A small eye care center but lovely designed to make you feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. My experience today was the only time in my life when I had an extremely pleasant visit without any eye rolls, tones, or atitude. The nurses were so kind, helpful, and descriptive about how and why procedures are done. The doctor was very kind and gentle. Not judgemental at all and was informative. Kid friendly place and I just can't rave enough about this place. Forget big open eye care centers that give "competitive" prices. I prefer this center.

We have been going back and forth with this Optician for the past 2 months for an appointment. It's very ironic how they said they were able to take her health insurance before, but when they asked about her eye history, they said that they don't take her insurance. Funny things is the person who referred us to them has the same exact health insurance which they take. It left me in confusion, puzzled because they have the same exact eye insurance. If you want an Optician Office who has no concept of the billing process nor does not seem to have a grasp on real patient care, than go right ahead. They are absurd!

Anytime I have to call and he answers he always has to make some kind of remark trying to be funny and it comes off as rude. He’s also done it while I was in the waiting room. I’d really prefer not to deal with him at all. Besides that like I said I really do like this place.

Yvonne Melendez: Twice they got my prescription wrong first time was four years ago then I had to go and pay out of pocket and get it done again because they wouldn’t justify it and it was completely off then I said let me give it a try again because with Covid it’s hard to get in and they were the earliest I can get there and they did it again they got it wrong so I had to pay out-of-pocket because my insurance already covered the first and it was way completely off again they won’t justify it they want to charge my insurance again instead of just re-exam. They won’t admit they were wrong even though it was twice they just try to over talk you don’t listen. I would not recommend going there I’m telling you right now

Bridget Yang: I went there to get new glasses frames as most places don’t carry frames that are completely covered by MassHealth. I already had a prescription. The people at Goral were extremely welcoming there and explained to me in detail how everything worked. Great selection of frames too, more of the free frames than I usually see at other places. Prices super reasonable if you want options outside of the basics covered by insurance. Also they answer the phone promptly. Grateful to have a practice like this in the community because I called a billion places asking if they accepted MassHealth for frames and this place was one of the few that does.
Mardochee Estimable: I went to there cause my frame for my glasses broke. I went to get a new frames while putting on the new frame they scratched up my lenses, he didnt even comment on the fact that the lenses were scratched up, acting like he did the best thing for me. Now i have to walk around with scratched up glasses, mind you those lenses caused over 200 dollars.

Tom is a kind, skilled, and honest optician with a great knowledge of glasses and aesthetics. If I've learned anything, it's to TRUST his taste! Dr. Wang likewise is a great optometrist and knows what she's talking about. I would highly recommend State Opticians to anyone. Go out there and support small businesses!
kai w: The Doctor is really kind and it was the only place in the city that took my insurance and had an opening within a decent amount of time so that was nice; although they dont size you for your frames. So if you dont have the money to play a guessing game when ordering new frames (which is what i am doing) i wouldn't recommend this place.

Jeremy Theerman: Great service, friendly staff. I've purchased two pair of glasses from the opticians here and have been satisfied both times. Glasses are expensive, no doubt but I felt like I got a reasonable deal each time. My only criticism is that the selection of higher end games is a little lacking. The first pair I bought I was super happy with, the second pair I the like I was compromising. I still like my second pair, but I'm picky, as most people with glasses are, and should be. They put everything together in a short time and we good at letting me know. What's really nice is that if you work downtown you can pop in and take care of business without a huge interruption to your work day.

I needed new glasses, and I came in, fully expecting to have to purchase them, ship them home, and then have them sent to me at a hotel on the road. You can imagine my surprise when your staff went above and beyond what I expected. They helped me pick out frames on Friday, overnighted the lenses, started working on them Monday morning, and handed them to me about an hour before we left town. I absolutely love them, and will forever be indebted to you and your team. In short, I wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Craig Dodson: Nick and his family run the best optical shop around. I bought some rimless glasses from him nearly 20 years ago and I've been updating the lenses over the years. When one of the nose pads broke off the bridge yesterday I thought I was going to have to dump them and start over again, but miraculously he found a spare matching bridge and fixed me up! That. is amazing service folks !

Going to the eye doctor makes me very nervous, but Dr. Giovannucci was so kind and reassuring and made me feel at ease during what is usually a very anxious process for me. And the whole team out front got in on helping me find new frames, though I ended up going with the first ones that they instantly pulled off the shelves for me. Everyone was very warm and personable, and the two adorable dogs at the counter also definitely helped lighten the mood. I randomly booked an appointment here since they were the closest place to my house, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I happen to request a pairs of glasses not in the store. They didn't try to sway me to some other brand or pair. They ordered the glasses and had them ready for pickup within a timely period. On every visit, my glasses were cleaned and adjusted if needed. Dr. Giovannucci was wonderful as well. He was patient and informative. He is a great listener. In my experience, I have never received such 1st rate service from a chain eyeglass place. I am glad that I made the appointment.

There may be a wait, but it’s as they take great, thorough care with every customer and will with you too. Don’t go when you are in a rush and need to be in/out as fast as possible.They also navigate complex insurance for you to ensure you get to use your covered benefits fully. On top of that, their frame selection is unique, top quality and awesome, and the craftsmanship in preparing and fitting lenses (especially progressives) is the very best. I enjoy my eyeglasses from there literally for years and years. Nick looked high and low to find a rare frame style/color I requested that he didn’t have - and eventually found it! He also repaired an old broken frame with sentimental value personally and by hand - and at no charge.It is worth the trip (and occasional wait) every single time!
Timothy Duval: My wife has gone here for years. I was always arguing with her about how absurd it was to travel an hour to see an eye doctor and utilize their eye care services. But, she insisted that they were "so great". She has referred many multiple clients their way over the years and been a loyal customer.Well, today she went to purchase contacts (with out of pocket payment). The women argued with her about why she was there, insisting she had been given trial period contacts and was looking for more free contacts (confusing, as she has paid out of pocket for them each time). The staff was rude from the start and eventually the owner got involved. Needless to say, the interaction was ridiculous. In the end, she got what she went there for. Which was paid for out of pocket as planned!!!!!!!!!Bello has succeeded in losing a many years long patient/customer and she will be letting everyone she has sent their way know about today's interaction.I now understand why Bello only receives a 3.8 star rating, and they're lucky it's that high of a score!!!!
Ramon Perez: THE WORST WAY TO LOSE A CUSTOMER.I was a customer of Bello Optician for more many many years, but I never imagined that today would be my last day as a customer there.Just because I tried to ask a simple question, I was decent to ask but a gentleman who appears to be the owner did not allow me to complete my question because according to him and the experience he has he already knew what I was asking, so he did not allow me to speak. He interpreted my question as a complaint and raised his voice at me.He was right, yes, he was right in what he said but not in the way he said it, to me that is a lack of respect and consideration for the customer.Maybe I was not financially beneficial to his business but good reputation and good relationships are worth more than money.It is sad to see how incidents like this have to happen, because they leave a bad taste and an unpleasant memory.If you ever visit that place I wish you good luck.
Daniel Margolis: I'm a very nervous person (some might say neurotic, but I disagree), and when I had an eye pain the other day, I was absolutely terrified. I didn't yet have an optician, so I called the chain place in Shrewsbury (not saying their name, as I'm not sure if that's allowed), and they said they were booked. I called Bello to find out if they did exams, and if they could take me. They made an appointment right away, saying it's better to be safe than sorry. My thoughts exactly!The doctor there (I left his card in my car - it's Dr. G., but I forgot how to spell the full name) is incredibly nice, friendly, and put me right at ease. He actually took his time to listen to me, to answer all questions, etc.I can't recommend them enough! I can't speak to the experience of buying eyeglasses there yet, though, because I haven't bought any. Planning to make an update when I buy some.

They helped me pick the glasses that was just right and comfortable for my face type, which I always have a hard time with. Very friendly staff. And to mention the eye doctor is amazing. Very sweet and attentive. My mother have been going there for over 10 years. The best optician I know. The eye exam is literally $60 that's it. They do take some insurance too. Will definitely be calling to make an appointment for my daughter too. My kids and husband will be getting out glasses there from now on.
