Chrissy Hughes: The best knee surgeon Dr Vinton
Brian Foster: Easy access office.
Mr. Luis: Dr. Christopher Vinton is the go-to person for orthopedic procedures. He will throughly explain everything to you and answer any question you have for him. As a 22-year-old Dr. Vinton understood my concerns and lifestyle. His training and experience ensured I returned to doing the activities I most enjoy. Umass Orthopedics should learn a thing or two from Dr. Vinton.Special Thank You to:- Andrea, coordinator- Seth, Physician’s Assistant- St. Vincent Hospital Staff

Thomas F Breen, MD: what do users think?
Colleen Blanco: Highly incompetent staff! My mother was referred her after a fall and fracturing her hand. The office staff have lied, manipulated and done everything they could to not provide her proper medical care. We are still trying to get her the help she needs at this time. Horrible place!
Clayton: horrible, i went to the ER at umass memorial because i cut my finger off at work, I was told by the er to schedule a follow up visit with their hand surgery office. their office refused to schedule a follow up appointment because I did not have a workers comp ins fax number. Mean while I have run out of antibiotics for my hand, my hand hasn't been seen by a doctor since i left the ER and the only thing this office is worried about is $MONEY$And to top it all off the manager of the office threatened to end the call because I was getting angry because they refused to schedule an appointment. This is disgusting!
Robbin W Miller: A shoddy place in how patients are berated for following their PCP's treatment plan during the visit with Dr.Breen and his staff. Wanted to cost me a fortunate to do surgery with stitches when my dermatologist did the procedure in her office with no stitches. I was treated like a dollar sign and not as a person. Unprofessional conduct indeed.
Lori Copeta: I have been going to Dr Breen for many years now. I have arthritis pretty bad and he helped me when others wouldn't because I was too young. Dr Breen will always be a 5 star in my book!
sue madden: he did my carpal tunnel surgery on the 19th of December he did a good job with great recovery time! i would recommend him!
Donna Housand: Dr Breen did my carpal tunnel surgery. Great bedside manner. Minimal recovery- great staff. I would recommend him to anyone needing hand surgery.

Stephen M. Desio, M.D.: what do users think?
M. G.: Dr. Desio has done each of my shoulders multiple times because of different injuries. He is always completely thorough and compassionate. Dr. Desio's knowledge and experience is the reason for his success, and the reason I have gone back when necessary!
Bridget Damelio: Dr. Desio has taken care of myself and my family members over the years with knee injuries. He has been compassionate, listening to our needs, and worked with us to get us back to sports and our passions. He performs excellent surgery with excellent results. We are very grateful for his hard work and attention to detail. We would highly recommend him!
Diane bilis: Don’t Recommend
Rhodi Lopez: Clean facility, courteous staff.
Richard Freitas: Due to a fall resulting in pain in both my shoulders a friend referred me to Dr. Desio, so glad he did. Dr. Desio and his nurse practitioner, Lauren Gallant, were amazing. They explained in clear and professional terms my condition, the procedure and the expectation of recovery. They were available when needed. After excessive surgeries on both my left and right rotator cuffs I am happy to say that I am full recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Desio and his team.
Faith Roche: Trust Dr Desio. I was a week away from shoulder surgery schedule by different doctor whom I actually liked a lot. I weighed my options and went for second opinion from Dr Desio and am eternally grateful that I saw and listened to Dr Desio. No surgery, but P T and patience. Please see him before you make any decisions.
Amy Coskie: Six months after a rotator cuff reattachment and bone spur removal, I am as good as new! Dr. Desio is an outstanding surgeon, both capable and caring. I highly recommend him.
Collin Hay: Full time endurance athlete taken out by labral tear. Was completely out for 5 months of no training. Surgery in December, Rowing full time again in February, competing with the national team again in June. Recovery was swift and no more shoulder instability
Dana Norcross: My Wife saw Dr Desio for a Bilateral quadriceps tendon tears. He is the reason she can walk again. He has great bedside manner, very intelligent and super compassionate. His staff is super AWESOME, and friendly. Dr Fellows is also quite wonderful. I highly recommend them.
Bob Ruda: Found the Doctor and staff very competent and caring. Dr. Desio always demonstrated the utmost concern for my welfare and progress. Highly recommend him. He repaired my torn rotator cuff.
Paul L.: Dr. Desio,One year ago today, I sat in your office and heard the bad news that I had a torn labrum and you wouldn't be able to operate on me. I will never forget our following conversation. You asked me, "can you live with the pain?" I thought about it for a second and I said, "no, I can't." You asked me why, and I thought longer and said, "because I can't swim." Being a triathlete, this was currently my painful reality. Without hesitation you said, "then swim". And that's what I did, doc. I swam. Covid hit but I never had to come back to your office anyway. 6 months after that visit I completed my first Half Ironman with a 5:49 time. 7 months after, I joined back with Crossfit. 12 months later I can press 125 over my head again (nowhere near PR but that's fine). The hard work was just that. Hard work. Very hard and very painful hard work. But I did it, motivated by your words, "then swim". It was one of the most pivotal points in my life and I share this story with countless people and I want to do the same here on this review. I've been looking forward to this day to get to message you for quite some time. I am happy to report that I'm back and better than I was before I visited you. Thank you. Then swim.Paul
Colleen Neely: I had a soccer injury to my knee and while another Dr diagnosed it incorrectly and put me through an unnecessary procedure, Dr. Desio correctly diagnosed it. He was thorough, friendly, didn’t seem rushed while meeting with my husband and I. He answered all of our questions. Wish I had gone to Dr. Desio right from the start. I have recommended him to others since.
Tracy Hyland: This man is truly AWFUL. He repaired a bone spur on my shoulder but managed to miss the rotator cuff tear. When I returned to him still in pain, he was truly AWFUL. He is a terrible human being.
Greg Dyer: Dr Desio repaired both of my shoulders and fixed my sons ACL. His staff is excellent. Dr Desio and his team are very proficient, confident at what they do and just do a great job in general. Definitely a group deserving of 5 stars.
Richard Estes: I've had both shoulders repaired by Dr. Desio (double bankart on the right, double bankart with 80% rotator cuff tear on the left). I only have good things to say about the entire experience. His staff is polite, his methods are state of the art. I've recommended him many times to friends and family (my wife also had her shoulder repaired by Dr. desio). He is a sport oriented doctor - I am a big rock climber - he understood my goals and my drive to succeed.
David Balcom: I would like to share my experience with you regarding dr. Desio. Over the years I have accumulated many injuries do to my lifestyle and work. After enduring a lot of pain for years I decided to see dr. Desio who was referred to me by a friend. In the past 6 years I have had five surgeries which all were performed by dr. Desio with amazing results I can't thank him and his team enough! I would highly recommend that you visit their facility and talk to them about a particular injury you may have. I am so glad I did and thanks to them I am back to living my life style the way I want to.
Laurie Raphaelson Ballantine: I was treated for rotator cuff surgery. It was difficult to get an app’t because I was considered a second opinion even though I never had seen a surgeon. Once I finally got my records to Dr. Desio and got to see him in person I was very well cared for. Nurse manager, the PA and Dr. Desio did everything quickly because of the need for surgery. No complaints. Aftercare has been great as well. His aggressive view on PT has made for a great recovery.
Arno Sungarian: I have known Dr. Desio for over 10 years. He is an amazing family man, iron man triathlete and most importantly fantastic surgeon with 25 years of experience, gentle bedside manner and unquestionable surgical skill. That is why, when I tore my ACL mountain biking, he was the surgeon I called. I followed his instructions and shortly after my surgery I was skiing, biking and working. I feel now that my injured knee is stronger and more stable then my healthy one.I have recommended and will continue to recommend Dr. Desio to my family, friends and patients for their knee and shoulder issues as he is one of the most accomplished practitioners I have ever had the privilege to know.Arno Sungarian, MDNeurosurgery
Peter Utzschneider: I have three, three sport athletic daughters who have all been successfully treated by Dr. Desio over the course of the last 10 years for numerous sports injuries. He is an athlete, a very caring doctor, and a consummate professional that I fully trust. My wife and I are very grateful for everything he has done for our family over the years. Great doctors are priceless, he is one of them!
Dan Kelley: Have a shoulder injury that has not healed. When I tried to explain the follow up appointment from the initial injury the receptionist told me I wasn't making sense - cut me off with authority. She stated that my trying to see this doctor was for a 2nd opinion(all i had was an emergency room visit and a follow up with a doctor who's far from me). It just felt gross, I don't like being spoken to in a disrespectful way. This is where my insurance is trying to send me... After that encounter I would never go here. The people you are speaking to are injured and looking for help...
Lyndsey Ouimet: I would recommend Dr. Desio to anyone who ever has any sport related injury. Before coming to Dr. Desio I was having chronic knee pain for years since my first ACL surgery back in 2014. I never felt right post surgery. I was going to Dr. appointments to more Dr. appointments just being brushed off being told there is nothing wrong. I was then referred to Dr. Desio by a family friend. After my first visit I knew that I was in good hands, and that we would come to a conclusion.I ended up needing ACL revision surgery on my previously operated on knee. This was not an easy thing to hear, but I was told everything you need to know about the surgery and whats to follow. I was not left out in the dark about what was the next steps. Dr. Desio and his staff are so dedicated and compassionate towards their patients. When you go into the office, you don't just feel like another patient to them, you feel welcomed and ready to heal.

Dr. William B. Balcom, MD: what do users think?
Ronald Bowness: Had hip replacement surgery October 21, no more pain 😀👍Dr Balcom did a awesome Job!He explained everything before surgery! He cares about your well being👍😀
Tina Lorusso: Had a total knee replacement on Oct 10, 2022 with Dr. Balcom. He did my hip 5 years ago and there were no issues. I was terrified to have my knee done. Well he did it...no issues..started PT in the hospital. It has been almost 3 months and I have been discharged from PT and I am walking like a real person again and climbing stairs with both legs not one st a time. My flex rotation is ar 123 and holding there for the past three weeks. I'll be calling Dr. Balcom once I am able to get the other one done. I was very lucky to have such a great surgeon. And my PT therapist was the bomb!!!! Loved her. Pt at St V rehabilitation.
James Pappas: So far everything went pretty smoothly like promised I had it done Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving I'm feeling very good right now even walking a lot
Angie D: Great surgeon, I did great! Having my other knee done too. Can't say enough about this doctor.
Lena Loughlin: Dr. Balcom is a a great Dr and surgeon. Hes very honest admitting to me that He doesn't want to do a Knee replacement until I absolutely can't take the pain anymore. Some surgeons would want to do the surgery and not wait because that's where they make their money. He cleaned up very painful knee for me last week and im sure when it heals it will be so much better. Then new knee coming on the other side. Im not so afraid of a knee replacement since I know he will be doing the operation. Shrewsbury Surgical Center is also Awesome!! Top notch!! doingreview on their website next.
Robert Trionfante: I had great experiences with the staff when I was hurting they came to my rescue. First it was a cortisone but it was no affect but the team know and they went into action in helping getting the care I needed and the wait time 10 minutes . I have no problem with the team but to say thank you for taking a a patient.
Marylou DaSilva: Totally inconsiderate of people's time. I waited for a 1hr & 15m to be seen. Horrible experience. Arrogant.

David C Ayers, MD: what do users think?
Philip McMurray: I had total right hip replacement performed by Dr. David Ayers in April, 2016. I had excellent results making possible the return to snowboarding, skiing, fat biking, and many other activities I am passionate about. When it was time to have my left hip totally replaced, there was only one surgeon that I could trust, Dr. David Ayers!! I had my left hip replaced three weeks ago (3/26/18) and making incredible progress due to his great work. I can't say it enough-Thanks Dr. Ayers!!
Robert Baker: I have had both knees totally replaced by him during 2017. He is top notch. I am very satisfied.

Dr. Carol A. Barrette, MD: what do users think?
Kim: Sprained all the tendons in my ankle and she had me walking in no time. Caring, real willingness to help. She's fantastic!
Bella mc: Dr. Barrette is good. What I don’t like is the fact that I paid my co paid and I’m getting billed! Ridiculous customer service. Will never go back.
Rick Boucher: Best thing I ever did was see her. Her knowledge and experience are second to none. I highly recommend her!!!
Sarah Jewell: 20 years ago, I was 17 years old and jumped into the shallow part of a swimming hole. Bones from my ankle fractured and went into my foot. After a week at a different hospital where the doctor wanted to send me home before surgery to let the swelling go down (while set wrong in a cast and wanting to put a plate in my ankle), I was transferred to St Vincent where Dr Barrette performed surgery on me immediately. She was able to place only screws in my ankle...something no other doctor was able to do. I spent two years with Carol while getting multiple surgeries. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. I am able to run and wear high heels years later when other doctors said I never would. She did give me tough love my first surgery when I didn't want her to touch my cast to look at the incisions, but I needed that. I had a lot of rehabilitation that Dr Barrette saw me through, and I can never thank her enough and will never forget what she did for me. I highly suggest her.
Eric Stone: Dr. Barrette performed a fusion of my mother's ankle, and a Cheilectomy on me some years later. We both had wonderful experiences. She is no nonsense and busy - because she's good. You should give her a shot - don't let the vocal minority sway you. For every one person on here with a negative review there are many like myself and my mother who had wonderful experiences. I wouldn't even know that she has low reviews if I wasn't looking for her info for a life insurance application!
Kimberly Lindsey: Had terrible pain in my foot every time I walked. Dr Barrett went over all my options. Didn’t pull any punches and gave me all the info I needed. I waited almost a year and decided to have the surgery. She has been great with all my follow up appointments and has been crystal clear on my expectations. I highly recommend her.
Bob Kinghorn: Performed surgery on my wife’s ankle. She will limp for the rest of her life. Promised her she would take the pain away. Might as well be a delivery counter. Take your number and wait. I wish we never met her. I with only a high school education knew she was wrong.Just funneling people through for the money. Take your time and get to know a patient. You make me sick every time my wife’s ankle swells up. Nice job.
