Jennifer Lish, PHD: what do users think?
Katie Bravo: The most amazing psychologist ever. I thought my panic attacks would cause me to lose my job. I thought I would lose my career. I started avoiding a lot of things. She literally helped me get back to work in the matter of a couple of months. She is so understanding, informative, nonjudgmental, and fun. I recommend her 100% she is the real deal. If you go through therapists and psychologists without progress or are not able to be on the same page, request to be seen by Dr. Lish. She really truly is amazing and so so so good at her job.
Zaza Sakhat: Dr. Lish is a seasoned clinician, who treats adults and children with OCD and anxiety disorders. She specializes in CBT treatment, and does excellent work. I trust her with my referrals.
Deanna Hewey: I saw Jennifer Lish for three appointments and couldn't bring myself to pay her another co-pay because she was so rude that it made her absolutely ineffective. She thinks she knows everything and because of that, she thinks she doesn't have to listen. She was openly rude about one of my family members, telling me all of her opinions about them when I didn't ask for them, and she also tried to dissuade me from having a wedding when I didn't ask for her opinion on that matter, either. Whatever she is thinking, she will say and it is unprofessional. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation.
Jessica Jones: I tried for almost 2 months to get Dr Lish for my child. I finally got her a contract, which she insisted she didn't get. Even though I got 2 letters stating she did. I asked her if she contacted the ins co to get her contract and she never answered me. I wrote a bad review which she deleted from her Facebook. But before she deleted it she emailed me a month later and asked me to take it off. She told me she can't work for free and has children to support and a mortgage to pay. She wrote long winded inappropriate e-mails to me. She said the ins co wanted her to see my child for free. I never asked her to work for free, and neither would the ins co. So that was a lie! She's on the board of the MPA. I don't think they'd be happy to know how she's treating possible patients. I'm so thankful she showed her true colors and I didn't subject my child to her unethical and questionable behavior.
Lindsey Lawrence: Great experience with Dr. Lish or as my kids call her "coach Jenny". I'd recommend her to anyone who is struggling with anxiety.
M C: As one reviewer pointed out, all but two of her reviews were from colleagues. This should set off alarm bells. She may be educated, but I found her to have no real empathy or interest, other than in propagating her methods. Her views were extreme, and I would not recommend taking your child to her her unless you are desperate and willing to take a huge risk.
Meg Manning: I am a neuropsychologist and I often refer my patients to Dr. Lish for treatment following their evaluation. She is my go-to person for cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) in the Worcester area. She provides treatment that is supported by research to be effective (evidence-based treatment). She is also great to consult with about diagnostic or treatment-related questions. She is always willing to help.
Paul Cannistraro, MD: I have collaborated closely with Dr. Lish for over five years. I have the utmost respect for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to her patients. Her disciplined approach gets results. I never hesitate to consider her no matter how complicated the case may be.
Michel Selva: I first met Dr. Lish five years ago when I was working in an outpatient clinic in Worcester. She is a very competent and compassionate psychologist who specializes in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other anxiety disorders. She is an expert in the use of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention. In addition to running a successful private practice in Worcester, she is also active in several professional societies including the Massachusetts Psychological Association and the International OCD Foundation. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking effective help in managing anxiety disorders.
Leora Heckeman: I have been a colleague and friend of Dr. Jennifer Lish for over 35 years. It is rare to find this combination of extreme intelligence and extreme and sincere kindness together in one individual. Dr. Lish is truly dedicated to listening and learning.. both from people and from the literature in our field. I would send close relatives to Dr. Lish for treatment.Leora R. Heckelman, Ph.D.
Candy bar for Aaronson: I have known Dr. Lish for over 30 years. We worked together at New York State Psychiatric Institute and have remained good professional colleagues through membership in two organizations. I have found Dr. Lish to be extremely knowledgeable about clinical practice of anxiety and depression, demonstrating kindness, respect and compassion for all who suffer from mental illness. I would readily send anyone I knew for treatment with Dr. Lish. She is one of the best out there.
Shala Nicely: Dr. Lish has a true passion for helping people who have anxiety and OCD!
J G: Dr. Jennifer Lish is the person I recommend in the Worcester area to for anyone who is looking for a cognitive-behavioral therapist to treat symptoms of school refusal, selective mutism, OCD, and/or specific phobias. She is very focused on providing only evidenced-based treatments that have been shown to bring about measurable change. For those of us who work as therapists, we are most likely to do our best work when the fit is right between what we offer and what someone wants. I believe that she is a great match for someone who wants their anxiety symptoms to change and is willing to do the often intense work both inside and outside of therapy to apply what Jennifer can teach them.
Connie Salhany: Dr Lish is an expert in anxiety and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Her energy and commitment are commendable.
Jacqueline Cohen: I have had a collegial relationship with Dr. Lish for over 20 years. Her remarkable dedication to her profession and her rare abilities as a therapist continue to impress me. She is able to create a well-considered course of treatment, based on her incisive diagnostic skills and extensive knowledge base, and she clearly communicates to patients how a cognitive behavioral approach can eliminate debilitating symptoms. Her empathy and confidence encourage the optimism and level of trust needed in a productive and beneficial treatment. I believe that the person who consults Dr. Lish can not have found a more competent clinician.
Tamar Gordon: Dr. Lish is one of the most talented cognitive-behavioral psychologists I know. She offers a thoughtful, well-informed perspective on treatment, and often contributes to CBT list-serves and conferences.
Randi Loeb: Dr. Lish is a colleague in the area of Selective Mutism. She is a very knowledgeable, experienced clinician who is clearly connected with her patients. Her creative insights have enriched my own work with this population.
Dr. Steve Freilich: Jennifer Lish, Ph.D. is one of those colleagues you come across every once in a while who significantly impresses you in a multitude of ways across a long period of time. My opinions of Dr. Lish as a person and as a highly seasoned Psychologist come from years of reading her posts on a very active and well respected Mass Psychological Association list serve -- as well the occasional lunch to 'talk shop' and from comments by other colleagues. Dr. Lish deeply cares about her work keeping up with her field's latest developments. She has at her fingertips a deep knowledge base about many things psychological such as her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety as it presents in so many different ways. I am always quite comfortable and confident when I send her a referral or seek her advice on a very challenging aspect of my work. From Jennifer Lish you get the 'exceptional work product', but equally important , you feel immediately that you are getting help from a warm and very committed 'real person'; someone who will partner hard with you to give you relief and help you recapture an important part of your life.
Elizabeth W Pierce: As a colleague of Dr. Jennifer Lish, I know her to be an extremely knowledgeable practitioner of cognitive behavioral therapy. She is committed to evidence-based practice, shares her knowledge generously with other practitioners, and gets results with her patients! I highly recommend her.
R. Trent Codd III: Dr. Lish is a well-trained and highly personable Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist. I've known her to be highly committed to staying abreast of the research literature - an unfortunately rare trait among therapists. Worcester is lucky to have her in their community!
Aimee Yermish: Jennifer Lish is an expert on selective mutism, school refusal in young children, and specific phobias, and is an all-around very skilled CBT practitioner. She has a no-nonsense style and regularly goes the extra mile (literally!) to do extended sessions and in-vivo exposure for clients. As a professional colleague, I have consulted with her on several cases and have found her thoughts extremely helpful.

Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Worcester: what do users think?
Saint Paul Manor: I would highly recommend Jeff White from Thriveworks. Jeff puts his patients first and that meant a lot to me. Jeff is Very knowable, experienced, and has helped me navigate a major life transition.
Lucy M: Beyond angry at this predatory service. My brother was in absolute crisis and this service did nothing but add to it. Hit with a $700 bill. They drained his account and made him overdraft without permission. The Jason guy is a complete joke. He seemed bored and u interested. Barely spoke or added input, he cut sessions short and cancelled last minute but can charge you if you cancel. Please stay away from this place. They added more stress and caused more harm than good. You are better off on a peer support app then this place. Thankful my brother has a strong support system. If he didn't this place would have been the final straw to push him over the edge.
Patrick Tripp: Very helpful for me! Thanks
Joyce: I made an apmt then canceled way ahead of time and they still charged my cc. They seem like a scam. Lots of people on BBB site say had this experience as well. Beware!
Josh Fasano: How many times have you said "fell short" in your response to poor and substandard care? Many. Be better. You swore an oath to help and protect people but it's obvious you're just in it for the $.
David C: Absolute SCAM. Got bill $540 between two appointments, not including their 'Subscription' charge which they refuse to refund. The intake was about 30 minutes, and the 'therapist' ended the second appointment after only 40 minutes. I would have gotten better therapy talking to wall. It looked like the therapist was looking at her phone for the entire appointment, kept repeating questions and clearly wasn't listening. The provider listed on the insurance claim wasn't even the therapist I saw, everything about this company feels like a giant scam. All the positive reviews here seem to be from other therapists and not actual patients.Edit: I followed up with the support@thriveworks, which was an absolute waste of time. They didn't even attempt to fix the situation, refused to refund me, and bounced me around to multiple people. If you value your time and money look elsewhere for therapy.
Jonathan Peniche: I hate everything about this company. The only thing that THRIVED when I used THRIVEWORKS was my AGGRAVATION. Going to this AWFUL place made me more DEPRESSED than what I was before. Legit the worlds worst customer service possible, it is legit like talking to a WALL. THEY STOLE $100 from me. They told me that my insurance was excepted and it was not. I had to spend several hours on the phone with Thriveworks and with my insurance company. I asked so many times for someone to call me back at Thriveworks to give me some kind of resolution on my case and nobody even cared.WHAT KIND OF COMPANY IS THIS? I also selling some other people have experienced the same problem. All they care about is money nothing else.I probably had the worlds WORST therapist possible. First of all therapy sessions are one hour long and I only got a 40 minute session because it was the first session. My therapist was extremely USELESS. My first session wasn’t even a therapy session it was just dumb questions. I would have gotten more use out of $100 by burning it. I was even more depressed and upset after my session before I started. I would have gotten more use from talking to a wall than this awful company.
Thomas Rogers: I signed up for a therapist appointment introduction. I signed up, said to myself "sure the $39 a month is fine". Appointment was listed as $100 per without insurance (I have insurance). I was charged $395 after the first appointment for a "PSYCH DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION". I did not even meet with a psychologist. I contacted Thriveworks support multiple times and talked to the therapist I did a virtual meeting with about this issue and get told they will get back to me. I feel scammed.
Jessica J: I have been working with Jeff White for a few months. He is kind and compassionate. He is very insightful and knowledgeable.
Elise J Almeyda: Miriam Collazo is a professional therapist with experience working with families facing hardship and trauma. Her holistic approach allows for a more intentional therapeutic evaluation and recommendation for individuals/families. Not only is she dedicated to her clients, but she is committed to provide a customized, but applicable, resolution to her patient’s individual treatment plan for measurable progress and success. Her smile and focused centered approach creates the atmosphere for trust and confidence amongst all parties involved. I highly recommend Miriam Collazo for your counseling needs.
Lorena Carlson: Best therapy I had in my life! Jeffrey White made a difference with much professional skills and techniques that are still helping me and my husband. I highly recommend him.
Maggie: I contacted Thriveworks to try and find a therapist and I was told there was a therapist that took my insurance but I could not access their care without paying Thriveworks $100.00. I was told there was nothing they could do even though I have masshealth because my income is so low. I think this immoral and Thriveworks is yet another group that claims to want to help people but is really taking advantage of those who are most vulnerable during this pandemic. It's disgusting.
James G: Seeing Matt Miracle made an incredible impact on my life.
Tommy Prescott: Went through a very hard and bitter divorce and Matt Miracle helped me pick up the pieces and put my life back together he really helps me see the issues he has helped me with for myself my last councilor I saw was good at telling me what he thought was the issue but Matt really helps me see it for myself and for me at least that is a lot more helpful rather than just telling me and I can’t recommend Matt enough he is truly great at his job and really cares
Marci Bartkiewicz: I’m still new these services, but so far Richard O’Garr is great. He makes me feel as though it’s ok to tell him how I feel. I know I have a long way to go but I know I’m with the right person to help me get through everything.
Emily Landine: Awful- I would never recommend thriveworks to anyone. I was robbed of $200.00 and they refused to make the situation right.
Charlotte Waitkus: Nicole Shetka is an amazing , she way about her that makes you conformable commutating with her . She really takes the time to meet you where you are at . She cares a great deal about her clients.
Wanda Beaudry Kelly: Nicole Shetka and I met at CSO in Athol, MA. I am a Case Manager MSW, and Nicole a LCSW. Nicole has a unique style all of her own for therapy, and many of the clients that were referred to me, stated how much they enjoyed and loved having her. She is laid back and her calm demeanor, were helpful in making the clients feel less anxious and more at ease, the clients felt very comfortable talking with her. She will be greatly missed by many. Not to forget her great listening skills, or her sense of humor.
Tammy T: The call center was great. You have to pay $39 per month just for being a patient. With the $39 fee you can email or call your therapist at any time. I could do that with the therapist I had in private practice. The therapist wasn't a good fit for me, but that's not anyone's fault. They didn't have any other therapists available to switch me to. I'm basically giving 3 stars bc the call center was more caring than the therapist.
Maria Zoubek: Dr. Shawn Channell has extensive diagnostic and clinical experience which allows him to provide the best possible outcomes for his patients based on empirically based treatment modalities.
Holly Lindgren: I’ve worked alongside Dr. Channell for many years. He demonstrates professional skills that take many years of practice to develop. Dr. Channell Is well seasoned. However, he values professional development and stays current with training to better serve his clients.

Gentles Counseling Services LLC: what do users think?
Cassidy Lanza: Had a very positive and helpful experience at Gentles Counseling. Very comfortable environment. An amazing counselor all around, reliable, understanding and a good listener.
Jessica Blouin: The professionals at Gentles Counseling have quite literally changed my life. They answer your questions. They get back to you. And (if you are motivated to get better) they WILL help you get better. They offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. As a teacher who lives several towns over, this is a great option for me. My particular counselor has flexible appointment times, so even meeting after my work hours is an option.I've been seeing one of their counselors, Michael Peters, since February of 2021. He's extremely personable and easy to talk to. He's helped me adopt positive thinking habits and how to be gentle with myself. He's been there to guide me as I look inwards and face unaddressed wounds from childhood, and gives me courage to face my insecurities. For a long time I was drifting along not knowing how to help myself and at other times in a lot of pain. Doing this work with Mike has finally helped me find peace. If you're feeling like you need help, reach out to one of the professionals at Gentles Counseling Services. It can change your life (like it did for me).
Lashana Fulton: I highly recommend Gentiles counseling! I've had the privilege to work with Taneika and Mike, both who have proven themselves to be amazing advocates and reliable support persons. The staff at this office are professional, compassionate, and easy-going, making you feel comfortable during the most challenging times. They offer both adult and pediatrics services and do a great job helping clients gain insight, understanding, while also teaching coping techniques that can assist in overcoming everyday stressors. Mike is amazing with children. He is relatable, and his approach makes young children feel like they are home.
Jonathan Tomashefsky: I have been meeting with my counselor, Mike Peters out of Gentles Counseling Service for almost 2 years now. He has become such an important person in my life both for my anxiety and depression as well as my mental and emotional struggles with battling leukemia on and off for about 5 1/2 years. His counseling has allowed me to be a strong young man and overcome challenges and adversities, not constantly worrying about my cancer, and most importantly, be able to get great insight on how to live each day with a purpose and be positive. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking out counseling services.
Jennifer Zecker: The counselors here have been wonderful to work with. There is a variety of flexibility between virtual and in person appointments. We have worked with counselors who are caring and professional. They work well with a variety of ages, especially adolescents.

Cornerstone Behavioral Health: what do users think?
Colleen Connolly: I’ve been using Cornerstone for just about 2 years now. I like my therapist, she’s given me suggestions to make my life better and we have a good rapport. Mostly I feel connected and want to be open with her, which I think is critical to improving one’s quality of life! I do wish we could have the option to meet in person, but at the same time sometimes telemedicine calls can be easier. Perhaps if we were “in person”, I would open up more as neither of us would be distracted by exterior issues.. As for the NP they have on staff now, I really like her as well. She listens and gives constructive feedback as well. I feel the staff I have interacted with have been professional, kind, compassionate and helpful. (well except for the goofball psychiatrist who did my testing, who is fortunately no longer with CBH, maybe I should get retested! Lol)
Gabriel Littman: I've found the folks at Cornerstone to be super helpful and profession and have enjoyed all of my interactions with them.
Jordan Harap: Cornerstone is a great practice with a team of conscientious and experienced providers. The founders, Dr. Moran and Dr. Cirillo, are experts in their fields, and they ensure quality care throughout the entire practice.
Jaymie Harrington: Terrible. After searching for months I found a clinician at Cornerstone. After a 3 sessions progress stalled. The therapist seemed annoyed that her treatment ideas weren't working and just told me to think differently......Ultimately, after telling the therapist that I would her to review a Neuropsych eval with the evaluator to redirect my sessions, I was ghosted and never heard from her again. I'm at a loss to explain how I never heard from them again after my request.
Dawn Forand: They are having parent wait in their cars whils they are not wearing mask in the building so why are they only following covid proposals when they feel like it mask are mandated in worcester now?
Andrea: made an appointment with reception was told they'd email me my patient packet i have been trying to call them for three weeks to let them know i never recieved it. todays my appointment and i can't get ahold of the guy i was suppose to have a session with , Mr.Letitia. im really dissappointed as i really needed to speak with someone and im sure ill be billed reguardless of being contacted. this is really horrible service ..i just wanted therapy
Sara Blake: Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. Trying to get help for my child; conducted the initial intake where I gave full information regarding our insurance, etc. 3-4 weeks later received a call back that they have now decided to no longer accept our major health insurance carrier (United Health Care)! What a complete waste of a month I could've been looking for help for my child elsewhere. Disappointing that they can disregard children's mental health in this way.
Stilettos N Tha Ghetto: Definitely a great place myself and my child recieved great care unfortunately insurance changes forced us to switch but definitely recommend for families.
D T: My doctor was good. The reception area rarely answers phone or returns phone calls. That was 2 years ago. I think they changed office management since then.
Nicolas Hemenway: Great therapist but someone messed up my insurance and said they'd call me asap, it's been like 4 months ¯_(ツ)_/¯Guess don't come here if you've got abandonment issues.
J D: I am completely disappointed with the whole experience of dealing with the front end staff. Communication from the start was a big issue and it was apparent new staff was brought in to correct this. However, there still is an inability to convey any type of communication quickly. If you need to talk to someone about anything during business hours you can leave a voice message and someone we will return your call in 5 - 7 days.
Ali Reed: I called over a month ago to schedule an appointment and the receptionist said she would call me back the following day. A week went by and I called again in the middle of the day and left a voicemail. Days later I got a call back, with no information regarding the previous phone call or answering any questions I had. Since coming back from vacation 2 weeks ago, I have called 3 times at varying points in the day, all to voicemail with no callbacks. I understand from reading other reviews that the receptionist is new, but this is affecting your business and I will be looking elsewhere.
Bridget Brunell: I called to become a new patient, there was a bit of a process. I had to do a phone intake with a very lovely girl named Christie and then as I understood she would pass it along to another coordinator who would assign me to a clinician and then she would call me to schedule the appointment. she called me right away and she was a very pleasant person to speak with and I look forward to meeting with my clinician. I hear nothing but wonderful things about this place!
Crybaby GBC: This place has helped me thru my recent situation. The receptionist was very compassionate and I felt like she wanted what was best for me. Big thank you to you for being patient and listening to me. Also Dr. Moran is awesome 😎 so overall I couldn’t be happier.
Alexander Ulmer: Horrendous new desk girl, ran out of medication and no one seemed to really care. Absolutely deplorable patient care.
Styl: My child has seen both Dr.Moran & Dr. Cirillo. Both are extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
Katie Johnson: After my son's diagnosis of ADHD combined 7 years ago, I was unaware how tough this illness can be when experimenting with meds that will work for each individual. I became very down and frustrated that all anyone could give me was his primary care doctor to prescribe meds when he was not specialized in this area. The meds prescribed caused bad side affects for my son. Thankfully my son's guidance counselor knew about Cornerstone Behavioral Health. That was 2 1/2 years ago. I called and our first appointment was with Dr. Shukair. He was so gracious with his time educating us about how different meds work in different chemistry make ups. The first medication worked beautifully with my son. We have been seeing Dr. Shukair monthly . I wouldn't trust anyone else. Dr. Shukair and the team at Cornerstone Health are truly the best of the best. I would definitely refer anyone here. Dr. Shukair saved our lives. Truly.
Deanna Chiuchiolo: I look forward to my weekly sessions here.
Marilyn Brine Gilmour: Dr Moran is superb with a behavioral approach to anxiety issues
Kelly Harewood: UNREAL. EMH Pembroke referred us to this facility for outpatient care. We couldn't see a physiologist until we seen a therapist. Therapist schedule the physiologists appt whom then cancelled until we could rule out TBI. TBI ruled out Boston Childrens Hospital called them to clear, still no appt. Newton Welsley called, still no appt. I called twice and quickest apt is December. They didn't care he will run out of meds and the receptionist is SUPER RUDE. Thanks for failing to support a child in need.
