Deborah Papier: I love their tea. But ordering from them is a nightmare. Some time ago they "upgraded" their website, and it is now full of bugs. It will arbitrarily reject working credit cards, delete coupons, and generally make a process that should take 5 minutes take 20.

Kathryn Dexter: This used to be a great place for tea, but over Christmas I ordered multiple tea samplers and all but one of them are soo finely ground that I can't even use them. I've tried multiple infusers and without fail there is always loose tea in by mug. In addition, the taste of the teas I ordered are boring, flavorless and not at all as described on their websites. Very disappointed.

I complained about a tea that I had been ordering for years and for which the composition had changed without notice and the taste was completely changed and in my view awful. The way customer service handled my complaint was terrible, I could send it back at my own cost, no confirmative answer whether I would get the “promotion” part credited and no acknowledgement that my opinion mattered. My review of the tea was ignored and still not found on the website. Why ask for reviews if you only pick the 5 star reviews? Not my place anymore.

I accidentally ordered a kilogram's worth of various teas, (not having done the math) but now am interested in sampling more of their wares, as I am now getting low. Just excellent. Just to update, I have never been disappointed, and have discovered 3 new favorites : one from China (of course) one from India, and the other one is from Colombia!

Connor Murphy: Upton tea is my favorite online tea purveyor. I've been buying tea from them for about 5 or 6 years now. Affordably priced, good selection of tea, and low cost (and fast) flat rate shipping. Word on the street is Upton was purchased by a larger company called Republic of Tea not long ago. It's my hope that this doesn't change what originally made Upton good, especially its selection of exotic and rare tea varieties. Keep that papaya, mango, and artificially-flavored garbage out of the tea! They have some of these types of blends. I've had a few as samples and I'd recommend avoiding them.. unless that's what you're into.
