Technocopia: what do users think?
Scion xD: Fantastic place to have access to wood shops, metal shops, glass, digital design computers, lasers lg and small, cnc routers lathes etc... All at a crazy low fee
Stephanie Romkey: Amazing maker space full of friendly people.
Shawn Ryan: I took my very first class with Technocopia, the instructor was Norela. The class was on the Full Spectrum Laser cutter. Norela, took the time to explain every aspect of the device as well as showing me how to operate the machine. She had very good instructions put together that I am able to keep and bring back with me each time that I go and use the machine. She set up a materials test so that you could easily complete a test cut and start to determine what the best settings will be for your project. The class was not about the software but she took the time to go over with me the tools in the software and how I might be able to use them in the future. I look forward to taking more classes with her in the near future. My next class will either be on The Muse laser cutter or on the software, depending on which one is available first. I highly recommend that you look for her classes and don’t be shy about signing up for them. She is very good and very patient. Everyone should check out Technocopia, by taking their classes you get certified to use the machines. They have a vast amount of equipment to get certified on. Again this is my very first class with them and I highly recommend taking the time to understand what they are all about.
Charles R Basin: I've been at multiple "Maker-Spaces", and this one's got them beat by a MILE! Not only is it well equipped and maintained, the staff (mostly volunteers) are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The facility itself is spacious and super usable with tables and benches aplenty. Here, the maker/entrepreneur/hobbyist/student will find a huge array of machines, ranging from woodworking to cnc to 3d printers, laser and plasma cutters and much more. The monthly fee is a bit higher than what I've seen elsewhere, but given what's here, it's well worth it for the right person. A strong recommendation!
bruth F: If you want a workshop or workshop space and tools to use, low fees get you access. From laser cutters to embroidery machines to 3D printers and band saws, training available too! Still too much of a hidden gem.
Courtney Wilson: You have to see this place to believe it. Creatives of all kind in a collective area producing the most amazing things through their passions. Nearly any craft medium you can think of (glass, wood, metal, sewing, etc) is possible to work with here. Highly recommend taking a tour and seeing what this nonprofit is all about.
Joe Bieniecki: NOTE March 2020:Many of the photos are of the old space and equipment. Technocopia is constantly updating the tools and facilities, expect to see professional level commercial grade equipment now.... I have added additional pictures of the new space. They are on the 6th floor of the Printers building and most of the shops have million dollar view in addition to the top notch equipment. Photos I just added include theGlass studioComputer LabPlasma CutterWoodshopSewing and Leather areaMember cubesetc...Outstanding makerspace in downtown Worcester. Thursday nights are Open Hacks & Crafts , bring your project and work on it!Tools include :4'x8' CNC Router Table, 48"x48" Laser Cutter (105w), Table Saw, Band Saw, Drill Press, Planer, Shaper, Joiner, Sanders, Full Electronics Stations with Pwr supplies, scopes etc, Metal cutting Bandsaw, English Wheel, Lincoln 48" Plasma Table, Glass Working Torches, Sewing Machines, Serger, Leather Sewing Machine + hundreds on hand tools and speciality tools.
Daniel Warren: The perfect area for anyone with a creative mind.
Colin Campbell: This is a fantastic maker space. The members of the maker community here are so knowledgable and helpful, and very welcoming to newcomers. There’s wood shop, glass blowing station, machine shop, CNC machine, laser cutter, sewing station, and a few other stations I’m probably forgetting. You can also rent space of your own to store larger projects or create your own mini studio within the space. And it’s crazy affordable considering how much you get for membership.
Travis Duda: Technocopia is a marvelous place filled with all types of makers. There are tons of ways to build, craft, and express my creativity in a community of kindhearted and likeminded people. 10 out of 10. Will Technocopia again soon.
Dexter WhyIsALastNameRequired: Love the woodshop!
John: Amazing makerspace with tons of equipment and a friendly community. The classes here are also excellent and very good for homeschooling.
Sat Nam Kaur Khalsa: Great people. Great programming!
Jeff Xiao: Surprisingly unaccommodating. Management is nice on the surface, but in reality cannot or is not willing to be accommodating towards prospective members.
Charles Surett: Great place for makers to get together.
John H: They treated my wife very disrespectfully. Very poor communication skills.
gremlinbd: Great workspace and community of makers... come check out open hack night every Thursday!
Trevor: Great space, interesting talks
William Aaron: I did an internship here for nearly three months and I must say that Technocopia has some of the nicest, smartest, and most artistic people I have ever met. Their equipment, workshop classes, youth education programs, and their members are spectacular.
Zeebus Bizmo: Will Aaron is the coolest guy there
David Milgate: I was very impressed with their shops and workspace. They also have quite a few very high end computers which I will likely utilize for the Adobe suite installed on it (as they are far above my high standards for PC). Apparently some of them are specked out for 3D rendering and printing. The guys working out of this space are very friendly and cooperative. At $75/month for the plan you can really get a lot for that money here.
