Alex Issokson: AAA Boston is impossible to get on the phone, but they provide a useful service. They are open Monday through Friday from 9-5, which is not always convenient when trying to get something done quickly, but when you go in person and fill out the information, the foreign currency arrives in a day or two. Unfortunately, we were given incorrect information when we called and it took us several tries to get through to someone (often being on hold for 10+ minutes only to be hung up on).

Tyler Nguyen: Waited 3 hours with little info as to the ETA of the road side assistance. Each time I contacted the member services number, I was told “someone” would be in contact with us “soon”. I recently paid for the premium membership because I also dealt with a similar issue earlier in the year where I waited 6 hours for road side assistance thinking premium would cut down the time. In reality it did, but prepare for a James Cameron feature length feature film of vague information, dodgy answers, and overall misery (for their premium service).

Michael B. Mackan: Not their fault but the state new real ID is poorly communicated. I had my birth certificate, passport, driver's license, SS Card, and my wallet. Because my SS Card has Mike instead of Michael it is not valid for this transaction. So I paid 50 bucks and renwed my license but no real ID for me. I was informed afterwards I could use my W2 form in place of my SS Card. I felt scammed. But RMV doesn't believe in customer service and it has spilled over into AAA process. Now I have to carry my passport to travel in the USA.10 25 22 I was able to get my real ID. I brought every piece of paper with my name on it. Any government documentation. And a good luck charm. The folks were friendly and responsive. I also renewed by AAA card too. It cost me an extra 25 bucks.

Katherine Glover: My birthday was 10 working days away, but the soonest online date available for an appointment was more than 2 weeks away. Nowhere did I find any communication about the need to get an appt extra EARLY. Plus, there is no way to reach the Waltham office except to go there in person. Because I have a car, and time off from my work, I could make a trip there to find out if there was any way I could get an appointment before my license expired. Happily, because I was renewing a Real ID, and because I had already applied online and was in the RMV system, and because I went there in person, I was able to get an "emergency" appointment so I could renew before my birthday. This process is highly discriminatory against people without internet access, without available transportation to the AAA office, without available time, and without having a Real ID already. Once I had an appointment and showed up, things worked well. But the pre-do is overly complex and just not easily accessible to everyone. This is a deeply serious failing that AAA must address.

Regina Bailey: What is the sense of making appointments online only to still have wait over an hour for your turn. Information given ahead of time on website needs to be updated. Was told that the RMV changed all of their forms on 1/1/23 therefore I had to get out of line to fill out the new form that I filled out on 12/31/22. Same information as the new form. Also you can't keep your old photo on your license here. People need to be informed on line that you have to take a new photo. I was not prepared for a photo and now I'm stuck with a photo that I hate. Beware!!!!

Ashley Radcliffe: Had a great experience here yesterday. I went to get a Real ID and was missing some documentation/had the wrong kind. Even though I always check the RMV website 800 times and try to ensure I have everything I need, I feel like every RMV experience takes 2-3 visits to complete. So I showed up and they couldnt accept one of my documents. Instead of turning me away like a typical RMV, the man I was working with (I think he is the manager, bald man I didn't get his name) walked me through how to get proof of residence on my banking app and let me email it to him for him to print out. I know this seems simple, but most places would've just turned me away and told me to come back. I REALLY appreciated this since it takes forever to get an appointment for any of these services. I was really grateful. He was even patient with me while my stupid phone was glitching and very slow. Thank you Newton AAA! Great experience :)

Deborah Bergeron: Awesome.. I moved to Woburn in 2016 & had AAA in NHl I didn’t realize that Massachusetts was a different region. This office helped me transfer my AAA & maintain my years of membership. I also got my EZPASS in Massachusetts that I still have on my truck to this day…even though I moved back to NH. It is now 2023, and I have never had an issue with using my Massachusetts EZPASS in NH until last fall. NEW HAMPSHIRE is trying to DOUBLE DIP in CHARGING ME TOLL INVOICES even though tolls turn green when I pass through with my MASSACHUSETTS EZPASS & my credit card is paying my Massachusetts EZPASS. I am embroiled in a heated dispute with New Hampshire EZPASS even though my credit card has assured me confirmation that my card is paying Massachusetts. New Hampshire is citing me over $1300 in violations. I am so glad that I kept my Massachusetts EZPASS because there’s been newspaper articles citing PROBLEMS WITH NH EZPASS. I recommend anyone with an out of state EZPASS to keep it even if they live in NH. New Hampshire is a double dipping state! Sadly, NH triple A offices are not allowed to issue NH EZPASS. Seems NH will do anything that makes things harder on residents than easier. I am a 13 year member of AAA…highest level. I loved living in Woburn Massachusetts on the Burlington line. I miss my local amenities.

I called to ask a simple question and, although I did get the information I requested, I felt that the woman who answered the phone was very unfriendly, condescending, and rude.If she don't like answering questions for AAA members, then she shouldn't be responsible for doing so.

Judith Jacobs: Before I launch into my complaint about AAA services I would like to add that I’m sharing a bad experience while my vehicle broke down adjacent to Burlington Mall, off Mall Road on Sunday evening. In order to post my story, I had to choose a location. My issue had to do with calling in service on the toll free number not the office location.I suspect my car alternator is the problem however it was eventually towed to my mechanic at Fahey Tire in Wakefield. I can’t say enough positives about them. There is no mechanic I have had used that comes even close to their service. I also discovered that I can use Howe’s Towing also in Wakefield in the future.I was stuck in my car on a cold night from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, waiting for the tow which showed up at 10:30 pm. A family member who was out of town picked me up. If you have ever been stuck in your car for over 3 hours, in 40-35 degrees, you know it’s uncomfortable. I called AAA repeatedly and will be filing a complaint with their corporate office. There is no excuse. Everything from beginning to end was handled unprofessionally - totally dysfunctional organization. Whatever their internal issues— they need a complete overhaul within this useless company. I have worked for over 30 years and most of it was customer service supporting professionals.I was forced to leave my car unattended with keys in the console due to their incompetence. I refuse to accept that no tow company is close by or available. Maybe there was a game on— whatever the case may be. Or their form of payment for towing is inadequate, regardless, it’s unacceptable. Consider spending the $125 and $7 per mile for Howe’s Tow if you get stuck in this region. It’s worth it and I haven’t used them yet but if Fahey does, then I’m there.Also, there was a discrepancy in what AAA was going to pay the tow that eventually got my vehicle so it was further held up for pick up until I used my credit card to pay the towing company directly. Never use your bank card for any transaction that is unknown— always use a credit card. Nothing against towing just practice this too since scamming cards is a common issue.The worst part was being forced to leave my car unattended since I live 10 miles away from Burlington. Make sure you let the police know your car location to avoid tickets and tow of a different reason. $$$

Frank S: The registry should be open for walkins as it always has been in the past. It has been over two years everything else in the state has opened except for the registry. Their appointment system does not work as a taxpayer I should be able to walk into a facility that tax money pays for to conduct my business. If you feel the registry should be open for walkins by now please call your governors office and continuously complain.
Victoria Kane: I came here to renew my license. Firstly, the staff members here were all very helpful and patient, this review only has to do with the set up at the location. There is no baby changing station in the bathroom, so I was instructed to go to Target next door to change my baby’s diaper. I find it unacceptable to not provide a place to change a diaper at a location where people often have to wait for services. After that, I found out that one of my documents was a few days too old for state requirements, so I needed to download a different one from my phone. That was fine, but my service wasn’t great and it was taking a long time to download, so I asked to use wifi. They do not have public wifi. I was again instructed to use Target for their wifi this time. What should have taken 10 minutes took me over an hour. 5 stars for Target. 1 star for AAA Burlington.
Beth Lepore: Friendly, responsive, and able to get my registry transactions done...without the hassle of going to the RMV. They saved the day when we were missing paperwork for a roadtest, too--even stayed late so we had what we needed. Such a positive and helpful place--definitely recommend.

I also been able to help others because their membership allows you road side assistance for any vehicle, not just yours.I recently had to get an International Drivers License and it was the best experience I’ve ever had. I walked in the Saugus, MA branch on a Saturday at about 12:15 PM not knowing what to expect considering that that closed at 1:00 PMNot only did they help me with any questions I had but they also took 2 passport photos and completed my application for the International Drivers License, but wait, I didn’t get to the good part yet. They did everything at NO CHARGE, that’s right FREE. When I asked why it was FREE they said because you are a premier member with AAA and it’s complimentary. Wow, it definitely pays to be a AAA Member and I Highly recommend it!One more thing… Compliments to the entire staff working at this location. They where all so friendly and extremely knowledgeable and helpful!

Impicklerick RICK: Lost over one hundred dollars replacing my wheelock key because their driver who changed my tire on the highway walked off with mine. Been dealing with this for months. I called multiple times explained my situation a woman gave me her email said email her and triple a would reimburse me. The email didn't exist and wasn't valid! Over one hundred dollars down because since the store didn't have a key they had to break the locks. Then replace them. Dishonest

Carol King: Tried to schedule an appointment with AAA online to get a real ID license. Typing at the speed of a glacier I failed for weeks. I finally called and they very kindly let me do a "walk in" between 10am and 2pm. Everyone there was so nice and I got my license!! AAA in Rockland ROCKS!!

Claudia Harrington: If you need your driver's license renewed or in my case my daughter's learner's permit made and you are a AAA member you can make an appointment online and quickly get things done at the AAA office. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and we were in and out quickly!
