East Coast Aero Club: what do users think?
Chris Wood: Absolutely appalling rental prices, even for 2023 and their oldest and most basic 1970s models. I'm renting planes that are half as old for half the price wet, and I can rent a 2022 172 NXi for less than they're charging for a 50 year old steam gauge 172. I can literally rent a twin for less hourly than their 172Ms. This is like helicopter prices for fixed wing training. Highway robbery, and they get away with it because there are so few options in Greater Boston. You would have to be absolutely loaded to afford a PPL at this school - look elsewhere. A "club" in name only.
Adam Heroux: Great flight school, highly recommend
Apurva Tripathi: It’s a great school with amazing people. Specially If you are an international student pilot (or want to be one ), they guide you all the way for the process. Plane rental prices is on a bit higher side but they put emphasis on maintenance and safety of the planes that justifies the cost.Any pilot on the east cost will recommend this school due to the good track record they have maintained.
Peter Geller: I worked at East Coast Aero Club last year and I currently rent from them. The entire operation runs like clockwork. Maintenance and dispatch work together to plan future maintenance which means renters and students always have a plane available. If there is ever any issue, dispatch is very quick to make adjustments to resolve the issue. The quality of instructors is also of note. ECAC has a strong team that work together to achieve the common goal of helping students succeed. If one instructor isn’t a fit, it’s easy to find another that does.As an employee and a renter, I am consistently satisfied with the quality and efficiency of this aero club.
AB Mercer: Professional flight training/aircraft kept up to standards. However-It is very clear ECAC has a misogynistic atmosphere, (particularly within management) making it a toxic environment for women. Also, the owner’s callous disregard for anyone but himself is not only strange but sad.Remember: if something feels off to you, it probably is.
Gustavo Herrera: I live 12 minutes away from Beverly Airport, where there are options for learning to fly. But I drive 35-50 minutes to East Coast Aero Club at Hanscom because of the quality of their instructors, the mint condition of the planes, and the transparency of maintenance (there is a board in the office where you can see the maintenance status of each plane), it's a bit pricier than other flight schools, but worth the money. You can learn in old Warrior IIs, or newer Cessnas 172 with the latest avionics. Highly recommended if you want to become a pilot in a safe and professional environment.
Mohammad Matin-Nejad: If you are looking to take flight classes on your own paste and book lessons but have a busy work schedule this place is the right place for you. This is one of the three ECAC locations in the state. The Bedford location is where I was able to take my flight lessons. ECAC is by far one of the best flight schools in the state with very reasonable pricing on rentals. The front desk staff are friendly, polite and helpful. They make you feel welcomed and always greet you with a smile. The schedule although at times can be busy with multiple students flying for the day, once you book your introductory class you can then book your flight lessons online as you wish; with however many hours you would like to book in a week. You can book flights until a month in advance which gives you plenty of time to plan your personal life around the lessons or the lessons around your personal life. The website is super simple and easy to use and is very straight forward. The instructors are all very skilled and experienced and know how to teach and make you feel comfortable with the plane. Once you start your solo flights other instructors look out for you and are always there as a resource if you need anything. As you take more classes you are expected to do more and more hands on while the instructor observe and goes a little less hands on to give you the skills you need to fly the plane. Justine and Sophie were the two instructors I flew with and both were knowledgeable, skilled and very friendly. They both made me feel comfortable learning from them and slowly progressing to my solo flights. The planes are very very very well maintained and although some are a little older, they perform amazingly, and that goes to show the good work of the maintenance department with this club. There is a very organized system for when there is any maintenance issues with the plane. Things get fixed and looked at right away.Overall I have nothing negative to say about this flight school and only all positive things. It takes a lot to be a pilot but this place makes you feel welcomed, comfortable, teaches you, gives you the skills, and makes you a damn good pilot.Highly recommend!!!
E Hazen: Great maintenance shop and flight school! I returned to flying several years ago after a long hiatus. I got a flight review from ECAC and flew their rental planes for several months, then with the able assistance of Mark (the owner) I purchased my own plane and base it at the field. I have all my maintenance done by ECAC and can't say enough about the service. They understand my preferences (airworthy but not necessarily shiny) and have helped me out in a pinch several times.I find both Mark (the owner) and Adam (head of maintenance) to be friendly, helpful and fair.
Jim Thames: Very well run FBO. In-house maintenance ensures all the aircraft are well-maintained and quickly back online. Wide variety of rental aircraft (high wings/low wing, steam/glass) and professional instructors to choose from. Busy class Delta given proximity to Boston, but what better way to be forced to master your radio work.
Nikhil Subedi: Nice and Clear Administration. Will be Starting my Fixed Wing Training Soon.
Alastair Bastian: Great flight school
Patrick Sweeney: Great instructors, short-sighted management.I spent probably close to $25,000 at ECAC finishing my commercial ticket, getting my tailwheel endorsement, taking aerobatic lessons and maintaining my aircraft. Some of the instructors like Marc Nathanson former Air Force instructor are among the best in the world. The owner Mark Holzworth, however is short sighted, difficult to deal with and lacks any fiber of empathy or understanding of his clients. I get the feeling he only cares about money. After all the time and money I spent there I would expect to be given the benefit of the doubt, but I wasn't. I had a problem with a credit card. I live overseas and when they tried to run it, it was locked for fraud reasons. I told ECAC I'd get back to them when I had things sorted. I was clear I would take care of it in the next couple of days. I was going to go fly the next day and found my online account suspended. Unreal. No phone call, no curiosity - just an a-hole maneuver over $300.I won't go back because I don't like dealing with people like him and I'm fearful he may treat his employees or suppliers even worse than he treats clients. Buyer beware.
Richard Sweeney: I am a 67 year old student pilot - ECAC instructors are excellent; knowledgeable, safe and patient - I recently soloed and plan to complete my Private Pilot License this summer....
Philip Greenspun: I learned to fly airplanes here in 2001 and 2002. Then I learned to fly helicopters here. Now I'm an instructor in both airplanes and helicopters. ECAC has been a wonderful community for me and I very much appreciate the maintenance staff that Mark Holzwarth has built up during the past 25+ years.
Natalie Braginsky: I received, as a gift, a Groupon for an introductory helicopter lesson which included an hour of ground instruction and about half an hour of flying with the instructor in a Robinson R44. I hadn't operated any type of aircraft before, and I had a great first experience here. My instructor was professional, competent, and friendly. The reading required to schedule my lesson definitely made the ground lesson easier to understand. The flight was the best part of the experience. It was very easy to feel the helicopter responding to the controls. The cyclic is very sensitive, like the instructor said ("no abrupt control inputs"). I'd love to continue learning here and I would definitely recommend ECAC to anyone interested in learning to fly.

National Aviation Academy: what do users think?
Marven Gauvin: I can't really blame the school that much because it has to follow the FAA rules. especially when it comes to taking the written exams waiting 30 days(waste of time), and paying a ridiculous amount for a test. But overall the instructors are cool, the staff are nice and helpful. The resources are ok. my problem is the lack of hands on. you won't really be doing that much hands on. the only time you'll do more hands on is when you get to term 3. You gotta do homework with a ton of questions which I think it's a complete waste of time too. but I'll say this make sure you are 100% ready. Before you attend this school.
Keith Allen: If you want students loan debt. Come on down. You ptsd from hazing and harassment welcome to national aviation academy. We have a over price a educational experience to benefit our investors not are students. Biggest mistake in your life is our goal. Job placement local walmart hiring.
valery morpeau: 😲 it's a must😃
Kyle Casey: There was a time when I wanted to quit, two days into school, go back home and never look back. The schoolwork was overwhelming and my mind would blow with excessive knowledge. I got my first test grade back, and after that I had no worries. With help from my classmates and my instructors, I pulled myself together and we helped each other get through the challenges together. I've made friends with all the staff at NAA and was glad to have gotten to know them because it all started with Sarah at admissions.Near the end of school, I've acquired my airframe and passed almost every FAA test, and with only one more FAA certification left to earn. I've become actively helpful in giving my classmates the boost they need to get through the end of the school and in return they helped me whenever I needed it.At graduation, we, as a class, were all excited to finally come to the end of our very important chapter of our life. During the ceremony, awards were earned and honors were bestowed. We said our goodbyes to every one and went our separate ways. We were appreciative of every instructor we've had.Getting through the most challenging 14 months of NAA was hilarious and arduous, especially for me. I did my absolute best to have perfect attendance throughout the curriculum. I did not have my own car. I had help from classmates, I rode an Uber and Lyft to get to school on time on a rainy or snowy day. I had an electric bike and now own an electric scooter. Getting to the school was the best and exciting part of owning an electric scooter. It's the fastest I've ever been. It's hard to believe it's over and unbelievable to say that we made it. Class 1020 - Class of 2022, I will never forget the best and worst moments we had at this school. We made it through the toughest challenges together and I am proud to have been apart of this class. We did what? We did it.
Unique Osazee: Never been to a school where I can’t receive my tests back. I paid 40,000 and can’t even receive my test back to see what I got wrong to study reason why I failed faa test because you guys don’t want to update tests every term I can’t get my test back nor write on the test also the test has horrible font can’t read. To me your setting everyone up for failure!
sajjad 961: They charge so much money and the school system is made for students failure.
Max Kietur: School was okay but costs way too much. Please please please seek other options. Huge lack of communication from the higher ups and we were lied to about some things during my time here. Most of the teachers weren’t motivated to teach at all and didn’t really care.My grandmother actually sent these guys a $5000 check for my tuition and I’m not sure what they did with it because I still owe the money according to my student loans but the money was definitely taken from my grandmothers account. They said they can’t help me and that it’s all up to the lenders (that clearly never received the check).
Ailton Tavares: I thought coming to this school was gunna be money well spent but unfortunately it wasn’t.They dont care about ur education they enforce rules more than actually teach nothing they say on their ad or on the tour is true you get professional points taken off ur professionalism without you know it or they’ll just hit u with 30 points for no reasonWatch out for some classmates not all classmates are who they say they areI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO SIGN UP FOR THIS SCHOOL go somewhere else this school is a joke
ACEOptimum: Good school well designed program
Larry A.: Money well spent.
Nidal Alamla: Was a great meeting, friendly and professional staff.
Carlos AGuilar: Well organized
anael fernandez: I love the environment and all the help that I recieve from all the professors and other students. Everyone is great and supportive for any situations that I have and the amount of people that is there for support is amazing. Emily has helped me through this process a lot.
R: The staff are very helpful, and knowledgeable of the industry. These people care and want to help you succeed.
Kevin Campbell: I Have enjoyed the love and support from all you the Staff and Students in this small Community. Everyone here WANTS you to succeed and they will do all they can to make that happen, provided you put the work in.COOOOL BEANS!!!
Hiilmy Underscore: Good environment, Well experienced staff and amazing service from NAA! FYI I’m an international student here and I have NEVER seen a school so peaceful, secured and wonderful as here!! Thank you 🙏🏾
Ace Prince: Just so you know aviation maintenance is a great career but national aviation academy does not help you achieve that. they charge you an hour for being 5 min late and each time you make up an hour it cost you $15 which only say they out for money, secondly they give you test and exams that do not meet the standards of the FAA exam, they say its hands on but its basically 75% of classroom, some instructors are so unprofessional i could go on and on but i will let you decide i am having a terrible time here. They want me to quit but am here till the end am not giving them free money
Ian Kimmel: It's a lot of classroom initially, and while the hands-on stuff is not exceptionally "modern equipment", you are given context by qualified instructors. The amount of hands-on you will have will increase as you progress through the course. That said, A&P School is not going to be somewhere you go to learn complex things about individual aircraft. That is mostly learned in the field, company-sponsored specialty training. But it is based on the foundation you get from a school like this.If you miss time, you are NOT charged to make it up as long as you do so in a timely manner. The tests that you take in the classroom differ greatly from the tests you will take to get your federal license ratings. However, the curriculum is mandated by the FAA and they are bound to specific rules as a 14 CFR Part 147 School regarding hours, and the accelerated nature imposes further restrictions of latitude they can offer you.You need a willingness to succeed and motivation to make it through the program, as you need very intense ability to adapt to new subjects every week or two.You get out of it what you put into it. I am carrying a 4.0 with Perfect Attendance Award, Student Council President, future Summa Cum Laude and a current Director's Award, while working a night job and raising two kids at 28.Your efforts will pay dividends once you attend one of the several Career Fairs offered during your time at the school. You are also allowed to attend Career Fairs after you graduate. The school will help you with job placement and making connections...for life. It's a great opportunity that gives you peace of mind, consider the cost and how much effort and money you are willing to invest in yourself for a surefire career.
Jonathan Swift: They told me I could use my GI bill. I set everything up. Got an apartment and everything. A month before I start they called saying they no longer taking GI bill. Now I'm out of $500, and scrambling to find a new school.
Sa Lee: Came for test and was greeted with confusion and late staff. Would definitely suggest trying a different place if you want a trouble free testing experience. I was at least offered water while I waited so one star for that.
Bryan Tlatempa: Had the best experience had so much help today in my tour they were able to help me out with all my questions I’m definitely joining the school !

Beverly Flight Center: what do users think?
Evgenii Vasilev: Great place. Quiet arpoirt, an FAA test ran really smooth.
Drew Dennison: The owners, Emma and Tina, genuinely care about the safety of the planes and that each student has a great experience learning to fly. Top notch instructors
Gary Thomas: How can somebody run a business that pollutes our environment with LEAD from AvGas?
jaja jaja: Best flight school in Massachusetts. That's where I learned to fly many years ago. Top rated instructors, well maintained aircrafts, safe , reliable and a must for new students. Cirrus flight center! If you want a career in aviation or just get a pilot's license, this is the place to start.Jalmar AraujoPrivate Pilot
Andrew Platt: Beverly Flight Center is an excellent flight school, they allow hopes and dreams of our future pilots to flurish. I recognize the airport is quite loud for some neighbors, but I don't think the majority of low level flights are Beverly Flight Center, I think it's mostly other flight schools on the airport and the jets based on the field.
Zachary Vitale: Very nice folks, an excellent atmosphere.
Jason Vitale: I’m speaking up to vouch for this place mainly because it seems that a lot of complainers on this page are upset with the aviation industry as a whole, and are taking their frustrations out on this business.Yes, the ugly truth is that buy and large; light aircraft still burn leaded gasoline, its so ubiquitous that an unleaded option would be hard to find at airport pumps. This is mainly because a vast majority of light airplanes in service today were designed and built in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. Because of complicated economics/politics, these older airplanes remain in service and are a holdover from a time before the harmful qualities of leaded fuel were fully understood. progress towards an alternative solution is slow but steady, and I'm at least confident that unleaded Avgas will take over soon.Anybody who knows anything about aviation already knows this. So, to see a forum intended for feedback on the school’s merit in teaching pilots, be used to express self-righteous anger that should be towards general aviation as a whole, instead be pointed at 1 specific business, makes me question the motives of those posting…that being said, I have been a patron of the Flight Center for over 4 years now. I can report that they employ well trained and high-quality instructors. They take good care of their airplanes. They engage in good business with their clients, and have always been ethical. It’s all you would expect in a good flight school.Going to school here changed my life and 5 stars on a google review cannot do justice how highly I regard them.
Ben Eramo: Very disheartened to see so many negative reviews on here from people who are ignorant to the actual facts in the aviation industry. Beverly Flight Center is awesome. Lots of fantastic instructors, and although some of the airplanes are older, they are very well maintained on a more than routine schedule. Parts are swapped out on the regular, so while the airframe is older, they are very reliable and safe aircraft. The owners are awesome people with an understanding for the general welfare, as well as the aviation business. They have worked hard trying to figure out a good neighbor policy, and although some neighbors disagree, I’ve found they always try to lend an ear. As for the comments about poisoning people with leaded avgas, as of right now, there are not many other solutions out there. For single engine piston planes, 100LL is the only fuel widely available across the US. Some brand new training aircraft are capable of using Jet A fuel, however there is multi-year waitlist for these airplanes from the manufacturers. I’m sure if there was an unleaded option WIDELY available, BFC and many other flight schools would use it. Until then, not a BFC problem, until the testing of unleaded fuel becomes widely available. If you’re thinking of perusing aviation as a career or even a hobby, come see these guys. They’re top notch and will answer all of your questions. And if you have something negative to say that’s out of the control of this business, don’t complain in 10-20 years when there aren’t enough pilots to bring you to the Bahamas 😊
Asadullah Abdullah: Awsome FBO, very friendly staff!
Matthew Henck: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityFree snacks
Spencer Martin: I had an awesome time flying with Greg Woo in the Cirrus, so I definitely recommend these guys for flight training.
Unknown Error: You won't know unless you try ;-)
Electronic Battlefield: My Favorite FBO and Airport. Take a picture in any direction, frame it and put it on the wall.
Charles Payne: This is a high quality and professional flight school. The staff and administration are very friendly, polite, and courteous. Greg Woo is an excellent CSIP. Not only is he very knowledgable about the systems, procedures, and flight characteristics of the SR-20, he is also a very skilled teacher and makes the lessons an enjoyable learning experience. He is open to questions and helping students connect the dots between the documented procedures, the airplane’s characteristics, and offers tips for getting the airplane to do what you want it to do when you want it done.
Emma Anderson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Andres Tejeda: Great staff and instructors for learning to fly and staying current. I've been training here since 2008.
Mauro Guimaraes: Friendly staff, awesome flight tour. Philip the pilot was amazing and made me feel confident.
Christian Deneault: Great people and operation.
Kyle Retallack: I've really enjoyed my time so far at the Beverly flight center! When I first came in I was met by Emma at the front desk and immediately felt that this was a professional flight school. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I was paired up with an incredible flight instructor Rene Martin. I've flown a few times with him now and I truly feel comfortable going up in a plane with him in any conditions. His knowledge and way of explaining everything makes for a stress free environment and a great way to learn. I plan on getting my private pilots license and going beyond and I feel that this is the school to do this at.
Sergio Sauceda: Genial, excelente atencion de su personal y Paul el dueño.. .
relenned denneler: Not considerate of DANVERS neighborhoods. They fly all day every Saturday and Sunday leaving no piece and quiet time for families to enjoy their yards
