Ann S: A small library in the heart of the North End with a beautiful little courtyard and diorama inside! Smaller than other BPL branches. The librarians are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. When we visited early 2023, they had a section where you could buy secondhand books (cash) for $1/paperback and we found some fun reads there!
XiroMassave: Everyone who works there are so nice. They love talking to me. They’re not like most libraries. They let you bring in beverages not alcohol you can’t eat inside the library but you can have a coffee or a soda there. I go there all the time and never had a problem with anyone there from the people or the librarians. So they are definitely unlike any other libraries were you have to be quiet. My mother used to be a librarian at the Lexington library and the Cambridge library so l growing up with a librarian was fun. So I definitely rating them 5 stars. My favorite library so far is this one. It may be small but a very we managed library. All the librarians there are absolutely friendly. So if your visiting Boston, MA the North End I highly recommend this location if you want a peaceful and respectful time.

SP Flannel: The architecture is beautiful, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Definitely one of Boston's hidden gems
Pablo Pinto: Very convenient, accessible, and with enough essentials for a quiet working setting. It has plenty of tables and chairs, Internet is free (although it could be faster), and there are lots of cafes and restaurants in the area ideal when taking a break.

Fred Grosso: I love Helen and her crew at West End, but got message late last night my requested book was available for pick-up, returned another book this morning, but doors were closed for Christmas Eve. Is that a holiday? Not for Santa.
Xin Wang: West End library is a such great place for children and families. Their children's programs have offered immense value to us and many other families. Rebecca and other staff are very thoughtful in engaging the community with books, songs and after school activities.
Nancy Vetrano: I asked for a book they didn't happen to have in that branch. Within 24 hours I received an automated call that they had gotten the book from another branch which we had discussed when I was there.Fabulous service and very convenient. Would recommend to everyone!!

Justin Ren: It is no nice to be able to find such a quiet and yet resourceful place in the middle of hustle and bustle. Staff there are courteous and helpful. I actually think it is quite spacious considering the large amount of sitting space being provided. Collection is not large, but you can always request online, and pick up. Plus, it is FREE! We need to support public services like this!

Liz Kaplan: The staff is wonderful and welcoming but the place needs a good cleaning. I brought my grandson there and he was crawling around in off-white pants. His knees were really dirty (actually brownish) after about 5 minutes on the floor where kids were playing. I'm posting here because it looks like they respond to comments.

Tim Heisler: May 17th 2021 was not allowed to use the printer due to Covid. Over a year later and they still won't allow citizens of South Boston. Personally I think it's a lazy excuse.. They wouldn't even allow me into the library. Probably needs new management. Sad that a public place is closed off to individuals who are fully vaccinated.

Briana: Nice library, lots of places to work or read. Also, a parking lot in back. Unfortunately a lot of people don't know library etiquette, like not talking on the phone and keeping their conversations to low volume. Wish the staff would keep this in control a bit more so it was quieter. Some days are nice, others are absolutely awful if you want to get work done.

Michael: The BPL Brighton Branch has a small selection of books, but more importantly you can get books and DVDs from all the other BPL or Minute Man locations delivered here to pick up at your convenience. Even better, this library has a brand new outdoor seating are in the back so you can read and enjoy the fresh air.
