Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi: what do users think?
Javier Neyra: I have been a member for a few months now and I have found great benefit from this practice. I had never tried anything like this in the past and i definitely found myself stepping out of my comfort zone through out these months, which was a challenge, but I always knew it was something I needed to do to have a more complete life. I was able to do so in a welcoming and non judging environment and I have since notice changes in how approach challenges in my everyday life. There is a great sense of community and support and I have experience the instructors there going the extra mile for me when I needed it several times. I have had a great personal experience 👍
Rosalie Parr: Body & Brain is unlike any other studios I’ve practiced at. The instructors are amazing! They’re really invested in your well-being and fully support you on your health and wellness journey. Some classes are more physically challenging than others which is nice depending on what you need at that time, and they conveniently offer both in-person & online classes. I always leave class feeling better mentally and physically. I’ve learned so much since practicing at B&B and it continues to have a very positive impact on my daily life- very grateful to have stumbled upon their studio!
Rachel Holoff: I have been met with a tremendous amount of care and sincerity at Body and Brain (Brookline location specifically). I walked in not knowing what to expect and have since learned practical skills for creating and tuning into the feeling of groundedness in my body and cultivating self love. It has been both educational and practical, and the teachers are genuinely invested in your journey. In my experience they have gone above and beyond. If you are looking for alternative ways to address mental health, this could be an extremely beneficial and refreshing addition to your toolkit. It's also the first and so far only place where I have learned about the chakras from a practical standpoint which is pretty exciting! I will say that I sometimes don't feel that the yoga aspect quite cuts it as a physical practice - for this reason it doesn't necessarily replace other yoga classes, but at the same time it also gives you something much much more than other yoga classes.
rocio alvarez: A mi hijo le encanta este lugar
Hunter Pattershall: Brain and Body has been such a positive influence on my life since starting a few months ago. While recovering from a concussion I needed a low impact way to exercise which these classes fit perfectly. More importantly than the physical exercises though, have been the mental exercises. The training and support to dig deep into your purpose and desires has been incredible. I started making the moves I needed in my life to get where I want to go.
David Yampolsky: My experience at Body & Brain has been nothing short of spectacular. This is a type of yoga that encourages compassion and truly learning to love oneself. This yoga is for you if you want to work on getting in touch with your body, your emotions, even your traumas, and consequently manifest true healing. I just started a few months ago and slowly but surely I am beginning to genuinely understand the process of healing.
liah117: This place is amazing, such a strong sense of community and kindness both from the masters and the people attending classes. The amazing teachers are very attentive and supportive, always checking in and making sure your journey is going well.I was looking for a place to heal my body and my mind and I definitely found it in Body&Brain. Thank you 🙏
Andrea Swain: Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi has awakened my soul and uplifted my spirit. Master Cho, Courtney and all the instructors are true healers. Amazing place to tap into your inner self!
Sue Brodeur: While I have never actually been to a studio (pandemic), I have taken multiple workshops and classes since 2/2021. Not your typical yoga, but a very good way to connect your mind with your body and shut out the noise. I have learned that when you give yourself up to the universe, the universe gives back to you. And this concept keeps appearing in almost every book I read (and I read A LOT). As weird as it may sound, I highly recommend belly button button healing as well. It really grounds me and gives me a sense of well being. Tai Chi with Courtney is awesome! Your breath flows and the movements flow (not to mention that you close your exercise rings more than once). It leaves you feeling energized for the rest of the day. I definitely have found this practice to have a positive impact on my life. You may need to give time to all come together, but when it does, it’s amazing.
Carol Piñeiro: Wonderful center to attend classes, either online or in-person. Class leaders are very well prepared and adjust classes according to the ability of attendees. Physical exercise helps with strength and flexibility and relaxation techniques help alter stress and mood. All of this makes B&B a comfortable center for people of different ages and stages of fitness.
Nancy: I love the teachers at this center, very dedicated and skilled. The practice itself has helped me with anxiety and lowering my blood pressure. It has also increased my joy. I highly recommend this!
Isabela Mantilla Silverman: I came to Body and Brain at a time where lots of changes were happening in my life and I was suffering from anxiety. In the short months I've been taking classes here, I feel more centered, relaxed and at ease. I now try to take 3 classes a week and meditate daily and miss it when I miss a class. My life has taken a turn for the better because I have become more mindful in my thoughts and actions. I feel a profound difference in myself.
Kat Tatlock: I started attending zoom classes for Tai Chi with Master Courtney and Qigong with Master Dahari after experiencing a scary heart condition that was partly caused by intense stress. From my very first session, I knew I was in the right place, not only for stress reduction, but for the art of breathing, stretching, strengthening, balance and increased energy. And for the joy of learning and practicing the Tai Chi form itself. My many chats with their coordinator, as well as masterful instructor, Meghan, have also been enlightening, encouraging, calming and healing. All of my questions and needs have been resolved with focus on my particular situation, increasing arthritis, and age - 82 - with caring, love and humor. I can't recommend this resource enough.
Quinn: Hello! There are no words in any dictionary of any language which can paint the picture that is "Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi". That will not, however, stop me from sharing my experience thus far with the program. I am a recent college grad, working remotely for the city of NY from my home desk, and before this community, I was lost. My heart and mind were at constant warfare, leaving my soul in the middle without shelter from the bombarding thoughts and feelings, which controlled my day. To keep me preoccupied, on my lunch breaks, I would incorporate small, simple bodyweight exercises for the home. This became a daily routine to keep myself active and dedicated, however, something was missing. My mind and body were not one. There was no conversation happening within myself, and I was becoming frustrated with my progress. Then, like a guardian angel, my brother Steven suggested this "yoga" program he was a part of. I was skeptical at first, but after a Dahn Jon tapping session with him, I felt my heart sink into peace and my mind stretch its wings. After a friendly, welcoming, and heartwarming introduction with Master Meghan and Master Courtney, I was ready to make the investment in myself and join the Body & Brain community. The plethora of classes throughout the day and week make the commitment malleable to your schedule, which during the recent rampant remoteness, helps us all feel a little more connected. Through this class, I have found not only a brain and body connection, but thanks to our candid sharing sessions, I have found my voice. The exercises are never complicated and focus more on good form and good breathing, rather than simply doing a movement as quickly as possible. The Masters are all amazing people from around the world, all with the same passion to guide this community. That being said, the Masters are open to learning from us as much as they can teach us; it truly feels like a meaningful relationship rather than just a pupil/teacher dynamic. There are fantastic workshops on top of the classes almost weekly with different focuses and themes (e.g. the Earth Day stream with David was magical!). Lastly, the Masters are happy and excited to host one-on-ones to help members reach their personal goals, perform some individual training, and check-in holistically for the entire person's wellbeing. In conclusion, I do not know where I would be today without this program, this community, and those that dedicate every day to Body & Brian, but I do not have to find out! Rather, I have found purpose, routine, friends, and myself. Thank you Body & Brain from this young man in New Jersey. Water Up, Fire Down!
Meghan Ormsby: I have been going to body&brain yoga for a couple months now and cannot recommend it enough! The most unique yoga practice I have been to. The practice combines body movement with both emotional and mental practice. This is such a special place that radiates positive energy, I always walk out feeling refreshed and grounded. If you’re thinking about coming here, please do! 3 it will improve your quality of life
Romy St. Hilaire: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityBody and Brain yoga at the Brookline location is amazing! I’m so happy with the experience and a really special group of instructors and members. Great vibes overall!
Giancarlo Lobo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Brian Twitchell: Staff are really passionate about sharing their practices with students. Material integates a lot of mindfulness and meditation principles into a variety of classes with different levels of movement. They also organize diverse workshops and activities like hiking in New Hampshire for young adults. In these pandemic times they have stepped up, offering both online and, where allowed, in person class.
Jayaditya Neogi: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityB & B yoga is a incredible place where one can journey through a course of self healing, connect back to oneself and gain a deeper insight into the practice of traditional yoga. I personally have a refreshing and invigorating experience practicing weekly here after a frenetic and exhaustive work life.
Gerry Lake: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityWhen I first joined Body & Brain over 2 years ago, I had no experience with yoga. I have learned a lot from the knowledgeable instructors. Every class is a fun and safe workout. Afterwards, your daily stress disappears. The other benefits include mindfulness, clarity and confidence.Gerry
Blanka Dost: Two sudden events caused me to join BnB online-training: the world-wide pandemic lockdown and my own cancer diagnosis. How was I supposed to follow the doctors’ recommendations to exercise my body powerfully during chemotherapy (to minimize side-effects) in times of closed gyms and yoga studios? It was my 28-year old daughter who had been going to the center before the shutdown. She encouraged me to join her online-training. So I began to participate and I understood and felt very quickly the physical and mental impact of the classes. It was demanding, stimulating, and equally relaxing, calming, soothing. My goal was to maintain my flexibility, mobility, and balance of my body. But now I see that I reached these goals not only in a physical but also in a mental way. My condition is better than before, my muscles are strong, I won the control over my body and the trust in my mind. With the help of the sensitive and empathic trainers, classes always brighten my mood, I sleep better, and I am beginning to balance body and mind. They promote imagination in my brain and sore muscles in my body – in a good way. We are collecting and spreading mental energy for ourselves in every exercise. It is such fun! There are so many classes to choose from, and you don’t even have to leave the house! And if you turn off the video, you don’t even need to worry about your hairstyle. Two months ago I completed my medical treatments successfully and I came out of this time stronger than before. I am so very grateful to my daughter and all Masters of Body and Brain. Go on like this, it’s great!

Kadampa Meditation Center Boston: what do users think?
Ginelle Testa: I adore this place! It's been a second home for almost 7 years now. Leadership is great and so are the teachers and community.
Mandy: Just no.
Ben: Very relaxing
lakota sandoe: Warm community. Lots of programming for all ages and stages of life and practice. No dogma. Very generous teachers. Can't recommend more highly.
Richie Batista: I went on a Sunday to an intro meditation class and learned 1 or 2 new things. The rooms were so peaceful and well designed!
Balint Karosi: I would not recommend this place. My girlfriend signed us up for a weekend session to learn about mediation. But we apparently signed up for a more advanced course: the refuge vow. We went to the opening Friday session last Friday 3/15/15. We were ushered into the upstairs sanctuary, where we sat for 20 min and then had to bow down in front of two Shambhala teacher's pictures, while our teacher processed into the room. During the whole session I felt intimidated. Our teacher was a white guy from Jersey working in finance. He had a weird energy around him. His lecture was vague and used rather pretentious language. After a brief Q&A they asked us chant some atheist chants and then to volunteer for work during the weekend. Some of their instructions included "please pick up your trash after yourself" even though everyone in that room acted very respectfully. On top of that they asked us to give a monetary "gift" to the finance guy in addition to the fee everyone already paid, which I though was insulting. We respectfully asked the secretary to remove us from the remaining session during the weekend, and reimburse us for the next two days that we were not planning to attend. One thing we learned that night was that one of the five precepts of Buddhism is not to take what is not yours. Ironically, we are still waiting for our refund.
Joe Snowdon: This is an amazing place of wonderful people committed to living in a society based on compassion, generosity and kindness. If we are going to make the world a better place for future generations this is the place to do it! Outstanding instruction in meditation practice, excellent coursework in mindfulness, and a strong Buddhist community that welcomes all walks of life.

Rita: I’m introduced to Boston Bodhi Meditation Center because of my grandma, who has been a member of Bodhi for years. It has been my home away from home in Boston since then. Whenever I have time I would come to Saturday’s energy Bagua, energy healing, and meditation session, which rejuvenates my energy and I would feel very refreshed afterwards. The meditation methods I learnt from the center has been my go to when I face stress in academic and life; and the energy Bagua practice is super helpful when I feel low in energy too. Most importantly, I’m so grateful to the volunteers and staff in the center: they have been very kind and caring, giving me immense warmth to my heart. 10/10 recommend to anyone who want to learn Bodhist philosophy, interested in meditation, or have health problems that hope to cure. You will find this place amazing. (The picture below this the free vegetarian food that the center offers to participants in Saturday and Sunday’s events)

I have been participating in meditation , functions and classes at this center for several years . I can truly say ... it has changed my life . My body , mind and very soul have been spiritually cleansed through meditation . I only wish I had started sooner . This center is a welcoming environment for all . All religions , creeds , races and ethnicities are welcomed . The staff are kind , loving , helpful and embrace all members . The family I found here has enriched my life beyond measure . The center is open everday and special functions and retreats are readily scheduled . Come one , come all . This practice will heal the body in ways one could only dream of experiencing.

e-qunfa Jin: I have to say this place is amazing! I have just attended their energy bagua class. I love it so much! It surprised me that it reduced my back pain after learning and practicing one week here. Full of energy! I couldn’t recommend more ❤️❤️❤️
Victoria: Going to Bodhi Meditation is definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Their meditation practices are easy to learn and results appear really quickly. I was able to overcome tough times in school and during work by listening to their meditation music and practicing what they have taught me. My stress and anxiety from school and work got significantly reduced and I've learned to love myself and spread compassion to others around me. Everyone in Bodhi meditation is super nice and always there to support me, honestly it just feels like home here!
guadalupe velez: I used to have a really bad right shoulder, I can’t pull it back or lift it up. So I came to the center for teacher Guanhai for the healing session. I got 50% of the pain released by the end of the first session, and after the second session - which is today, I can feel 80% of the pain being relieved, and I don’t feel the pain when lifting nor when I’m hitting on the arm, and I can move back my arm more. I also practiced Energy Bagua before the healing session, which is also very helpful. My mind is also very relaxed now. I appreciate the center very much for the friendly volunteers: they are very lovely people, and I’m very touched by their kindness. I recommend it to anybody and people with any religion for the benefit you can get, both for physical health and mental calmness.
Xi Han: Thanks to the great and respected Zen Master JinBodhi!
Lucy Yu: I participated in the Boston Bodhi Meditation weekend energy conditioning through the Internet, and the effect was very good. At that time, the meridians of the head and neck were very tight. After the conditioning, I got relaxed, which is amazing! Thank you so much. I will continue to participate in this event.
张莘莘: I live in the outer suburbs of Boston and was introduced to Bodhi Meditation three years ago through a "Meditation and Health" magazine. The teachers and fellow practitioners at the Boston Chan Center were very enthusiastic about teaching me Bagua and introducing me to meditation practice. Through the practice of Energy Bagua and Da Guangming's participation in energy blessing, the back pain and chest pain that had plagued me for more than five years were healed, and the problem of poor sleep was also improved. Learning Bodhi Meditation has taught me that compassion can change destiny. I am infinitely grateful to Grandmaster JinBodhi!
Jennifer Chin: Bodhi meditation practices are very effective methodsfor our physical health, mental, emotional andspiritual states. They have positive results with noside effects. Must try Energy Bagua in the centermenu!! Will improve health conditions, heightenphysical energy level, joy and happiness to life. Highly recommend this place

Mindful Boston: what do users think?
Heather Parker: I decided to explore mindfulness meditation and am understanding the benefits for stress reduction. When I first thought about meditation, I didn't know where to begin. Mindful Boston offers an intensive course in MBSR or Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction that meets once a week for discussion and guided meditation. At first, I was admittedly nervous in attending the class. I wasn't sure if it was going to be filled with a bunch of crunchy hippies, new age folks, or people who already had a good understanding about meditation. Students are a mix of men and women, young and old, everyday people and clinicians. The teaching method feels very welcoming, encouraging, and laid back. I had dabbled in meditation before own my own but really had no idea if I was doing it "right." All of my worries were non-existent ten minutes into the first class. What made Mindful Boston a good choice for me:The meditation course doesn't ride on a religious or spiritual tone. The teacher doesn't ignore the fact that mindfulness comes from Buddhist teachings, but emphasizes that this program takes useful aspects of meditation which are then applied to reduce stress. While some MBSR programs are in a hospital setting, this one wasn't. It is more accessible and still is based off the research of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn.I dove right in for the intensive nine session course, though I think workshops are offered if you're not sure its for you. If you join the meetup group offered by Mindful Boston, you can get notified about the various meditation sessions and workshops.
Lauren Gourlay: If you want to explore what Mindfulness is all about, you should attend a class or community meditation night at Mindful Boston.Mindful Boston is a wonderful and secular meditation center that provides guidance and techniques for all levels of meditation practices. The Toolbox class is a great intro into Mindfulness meditation. I enjoyed it so much that I attended the MBSR course. I am so grateful for the tools and techniques that I have learned at Mindful Boston. Attending the center is life changing!!

Carla goes above and beyond with resources and information. Her expertise and experience is worth so much more that what I expected. She was present and treated each student as if they were the only one in class. Carla's demonstrations had healed some deep wounds I had. I did not expect this....Not only did I get certified, I had deep wounds healed. I look forward to taking more classes from Carla and plan on sending other people her way.

And the staff at Everybody in Mind are very warm and welcoming. 5 stars!

Dhamari Coren: Very calming and relaxing experience. Everything about it was very inviting and easy, I went in a little confused but was explained thoroughly what was going to happen. This was randomly brought upon me and now I want to go back as soon as possible. 10/10
Dani Eisenberg: Everything about my experience at Everybody in Mind Wellness Center was amazing. From the second you walk in a sense of calm over takes you. The smell of relaxation, the beautiful fire place going to the chakra teas, everything is so inviting to your eyes. The space is so clean and the air so fresh. My experience in the somadome was so peaceful, calming, and healing. I melted away all the stress and the tenses I had in my body. The CBD peppermint tea afterwards was delightful and I left there feeling weightless and free of stress. I can't wait to go back and try the quantum resonance bed.
Jackie Gould: Working with Carla has been life changing. Hypnotherapy is helping me to create the best version of myself. I always look forward to our sessions.

barre3: what do users think?
Leilei Zhang: The classes are amazing. My favorite Barre3 location!
CIndy Smith: I’ve been a member since the studio opened. I live Barre 3 Needham. Completely different than other Barre philosophies. It’s about the mind body connection. It’s a workout, but BALANCED. Instructors are knowledgeable and keep an eye on you so you don’t get injured while trying to get you body toned. Music is fabulous. It’s a combo of dancing (ballet) , yoga, Pilates, but you don’t need to be experienced in any of these. All age groups can enjoy these classes. Several years ago, I looked over at my Barre Buddies while we stood at the barre, and realized we represented women born in SEVEN different decades. The woman in her eighties crushes it all the time! And, if you want a community of women who are supportive without being intrusive, sign up for a class now. Did I mention the retail? The owner, Liz, has an eye for merchandise and knows what looks good on you. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been as I approach (GULP) being eligible for Medicare. I think Bare3 is what’s helped me get through the Pandemic! They have a saying, “Make it heart centered”Not a bad message theses days. .
Christine Moyer: Great class! I loved the energy. I could go at my own pace and was given helpful modifications as needed!
zumbachestnut610: Great studio. The instructor’s are extremely nice and knowledgeable. And it’s a fantastic workout!
Amy Kaye: Instructors are so welcoming, friendly, and always make you feel like you’re doing awesome no matter what level you’re at. They give corrections on form that make you feel confident you’re on the right track without making you feel frustrated. The workout is incredibly rejuvenating and you can really personalize its difficulty depending on how you’re feeling that day. This is by far my favorite studio, even in comparison to other Barre3 studios in the area.
Kristen Blum: For beginners to veterans, barre3 in Needham has so much to offer. The staff is unbelievably accommodating and makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in the door. Noa, the manager not only leads a great class, but is SO caring. She even followed up with me via phone after my first class. I’ve had luck at several different studios, but barre3 is special!
Jessica Karlin: I have been going to Barre3 in Needham for 3 years. Teachers are excellent and I love the workout. It's challenging and different every class. There are many classes on the schedule so you can always find a class to fit your timing. I always walk out of class feeling wonderful. I can't say enough positive things about Barre3!
Sarah Mann: Everyone is so wonderful. The instructors really know what they are doing and that’s not even the start of it. From the moment you walk in the warmth you are introduced to is beyond anything I have experienced before.
Marlene Katz: Every class is different and thus keeps you on your toes (lol). I love the energy, the modifications, the emphasis on alignment and of course the sweat. It just keeps getting better!
Kevin Berry: What an amazing operation. From the greeting I received walking through the door to the orientation of the studio, weights and towels, everything was great. I purposely scheduled a class with Liz. My research revealed that Liz is not only the owner but the main person to receive new Barre 3 training. This is the best studio class facility I've encountered and Barre3 Needham has put together excellent classes with a great team.
Craig Johnson: I find that the movements in barre3 are very conducive to match to breath. Matching breath to movement is one of the goals of yoga, but for me, that is easier to do during barre3. So, I am essentially doing a form of yoga during some of the barre3 class, which I find pleasant and mildly meditative. The music played during class also lends itself well to this experience.
Reva Winston: The teachers at the Needham studio are very talented and always supportive. It’s a wonderful all-around workout, and well balanced with elements of yoga and pilates. I wish the studio were larger, since as they become more popular, it’s getting crowded! The studio is always squeaky clean and well maintained.
Christine Duvivier: Loved the music. Instructor was very nice. Great space.
jamie golden: To start - the staff is so welcoming and helpful. Team that up with the classes that are challenging yet accessible and you get 5 starts. I love that the instructors encourage you to listen to your body. I shake during and leave feeling stronger.
