Mike Becich: I’d gone to Sly’s several times because of the convenient price and location, but this sadly will be my last time. The barber was uneven around my entire head and by the time he freestyled my bangs way to short and even took a set of clippers to my bangs, the lack of professional behavior was clear. Millan Markowitz: Sly was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I watched him give fantastic short haircuts to 5 other people before me. If you are looking for a short haircut, I think you will really like him. But I came in with long hair and specifically told him I was just looking for a trim and for it to be cleaned up a bit, I even said I wanted to keep the length because I like long hair, and he ended up taking off about 4 inches in length at least, taking me from shoulder-length to a pretty short haircut.I also have curly hair, though the curl type is very loose, and he didn't seem to know how to properly cut it. I said I liked my bangs to be about eyebrow length, but he pulled my hair straight to cut it to my eyebrows so of course when it was cut it sprung back up and barely go halfway down my forehead. He was also using a fine-tooth comb, which was getting caught in my curls, and it almost seemed like instead of switching to a wide-tooth comb or trying to work with my curl type, he opted to just cut off the hair where the comb was getting stuck.I didn't want to give a bad review because he clearly does impeccable work on people who want short hair, but I felt I had to caution anyone with long hair who wants to keep their length.

Mike B: Cleaned up just before Thanksgiving and owner Joe B gave me the absolute best haircut experience of my life. A true professional, he walked me through exactly how I wanted to look (and I was not good at articulating such), while giving me options as we went a long to go a little shorter if necessary. Plenty to talk about, and Joe is a local just like myself and I love being able to support the homegrown businesses. I hate leaving the barbershop thinking I could've done as good a job myself, Joe got me feeling like I can't wait to go back just to look this good again. And all around A+ experience, the only thing I will say is if you book with a credit card on file make sure to bring cash or a card in person in order to tip (you can pay with the card you registered with but can't add tip unfortunately if you do it that way) and these guys absolutely deserve it. Despite there only being one person waiting ahead of me, I had to wait almost an hour because the lone barber spent more time talking to his buddies than cutting hair. My 15-minute turn in the chair was similarly filled with more lewd wisecracks than actual hair cutting. After not doing much of anything, he admitted that he had totally forgotten what the "reference" picture I showed him looked like. The haircut itself was a total hack job, and I had to get it re-cut at a different barbershop a few days later. Needless to say, I won't be back...
