Dig Time: Service is very questionable. We ordered drinks and just never received them. Sat for about 30 minutes. The young female bartender is very rude and not someone you want to interact with on a personal or professional level. Highly don’t recommend as there are a score of other places to go in the area for drinks. Wings were also dry as well.

Jaye Aster Broder: A go-to college pub, Grendel’s has a nice half-priced food happy hour from 5-7pm when you also order a drink. Grendel’sIs normally busy and a little loud. There are stairs down to enter. While in the basement, there are some windows that let light in. There is a moderate selection of beers on tap and cans as well as some simple cocktails. I would probably discourage large groups from coming here as it can be tough to find a table.

If Mal is on bar, get a green tea shot (Note: it contains alcohol), it is extremely tasty. Best part, it's tasty for any palette; it's not too sweet, not too sour/bitter, great complexities, and absolutely delicious flavour profile. Yummy! Dan M: Pretty solid Harvard Sq Dive Bar with a scent and stickiness that always lingering. Maybe it’s because it’s in a basement. Anyhow they have a great patio set up in the summertime so I like to go then. Only thing is you need to order some food with drinks when dining out there.

It’s a nice and cozy place - perfect for cocktails with friends and some homey meals.We tried pork “wings” (good bar food), an empanada (recommended!) and the flatbread with aubergine (just ok - flatbread was a bit too dry). They do have a pretty good steak (but the sides for that were a bit “meh”). Loved the dessserts - especially the key lime pie is excellent - and the cocktails. Would give it a 7/10 rating overall!
