Stacey Quandt: I am so glad I stopped here to get a passport photo just hours before my in-person appointment at the passport agency. The photographer at Hunts graciously took three photos and I selected the best one to be printed. The entire process took less than 30 minutes.
Amy Hao: I needed a passport photo taken and decided to try and support a smaller chain like Hunt’s. I went in on a Sunday, 15 minutes before closing. The store was very busy but there were about 5 customers behind me in line. I waited for 15 minutes while they were serving two other customers. When I got to the front of the line, I was told that they were closed and to come back tomorrow. While I normally would be very understanding of this, they proceeded to service customers in line behind me, presumably because they would be buying bigger ticket items instead of an inexpensive passport photo. This felt unfair to me - if you’re going to close shop, close shop, but don’t selectively service people. I went down the street to CVS and they did a fine job. I can’t comment on their other services or products but I’m not inclined to return.
Yaseen Islam: I wish i could rate this place higher because the people working here are wonderful. However, the main location that they send their film to for development is my main concern. There are light leaks on the majority of every roll i submitted for developing and scanning, and there really should not be any excuse for that as when developing for myself with my cameras i never get any leaks. Now suddenly with Hunt's i'm seeing major leaks on every roll. Not coming back for this service, and i recommend everyone to go elsewhere.

She was super helpful, knew a ton about the merchandize, opened a new boxed Sony camera to show me the body of the camera, helped with the best lense for my purposed( I shoot weddings). Overall the atmosphere in the store and the customer service was great, so glad to have this store in my neighborhood. Definetely will be back again soon! :)

William Menchaca: Color film is simply too expensive and takes too long to get processed and delivered. One roll of 35mm E6 process film should not take 3 weeks to scan and process. Also that same roll costs roughly $50 to buy and have processed and scanned. Hunts gives pretty good results, which is why they get 3 stars. But the service is slow, pricey, and inconsistent. If you want to develop and scan black and white, my suggestion, do it at home. Color is unfortunately much more difficult to do at home.
Ron Yang: My local camera store. I get my film developed here. Prices are okay, and they have to ship it to their lab in the suburbs so it’s a 2 week turnaround, but the convenience and supporting a local place is worth it.

Alexander James L: The pros:Staff are open and honest about their pricing for second hand, so you know what kind of deal you're getting.Lots of film available, though the mark up is a little pricy.Staff are generally friendly when selling you something, but this is to be expected.The cons :Film development here is really expensive given how slow it is, even if you don't get scans. Also, it took four weeks for my rolls to come back which is somewhat absurd. I was told this was because they're sent off to another lab when pushed, but I was given a timeline of one to two weeks at the store.Worst of all, one of the rolls I got back was completely blacked out, even the coding along the sides. Store staff first said it was due to camera not exposing, but this would produce the opposite effect of clear negatives with the side coding visible. The only conclusion I can come to (this was a roll of hp5 I had bought from here) is that the lab they sent the rolls too had messed up this particular one. If it had been the fault of the camera I'd expect each frame to be black respectively but the coding should be easily readable if developed properly. Given that the entire roll was black this indicates the film has been exposed to light out of the canister prior to development and the lab is likely at fault. I was just told by staff it's probably my cameras fault and that was that. Wasn't offered any other sort of compensation.... Wouldnt come back for film related items, there are other local labs that are cheaper with better service.

Chris Ferry: Great local store for your photography and videography needs! The staff is excellent and they transferred a product from a different store to my local location for pickup. They sell both new and used gear and have a good selection of products that you really want to see and handle before buying. For example, holding and trying on a backpack is a better experience than trying to gauge from just measurements and photos.Overall, I highly recommend this shop for any photography needs your might have!

I went to pick it up after a few days once it came in and it was amazing quality. They are the kindest people I have ever met and made the stressful task of getting a new camera simple and pleasurable. They went above and beyond. I am extremely impressed by and thankful for them. They now have another loyal customer, I will be going back to them anytime I need anything else.
Nicole: The staff at Hunt’s was exceptionally professional and patient with me as I struggled to download printable copies of photos to print. In addition, upon picking up my prints, I realized that I mistakenly sent the wrong photo. Alex quickly responded very graciously and had my new prints ready within an hour. I specifically decided to get my photos taken here because I‘m a relatively regular customer and have always been very happy with their services, products, recommendations and especially friendly and efficient customer service- so was very confident that i would get good quality photos here. Initially I wasn’t very happy with the resolution of the photos and lighting and left a review here. A day later I received a call from them apologizing, offering a refund and outlining changes that were made to the setup.I really appreciated the follow up from them and that they immediately worked on improving the service. Would go back to get photos taken there and reliably always my go to for all things camera related in Boston.

Qwik Labs: Horrible. They would charge you 6 to 10 times higher than the initial price they told you. They also try to fool you. Two pictures (half size than A4 paper )( just print) (they are identical) were charged two times of 30 dollars ( They tried to fool you and said they are different to charge you higher price to ripe you off. They charged you service fee although you are not taking pictures there( just printing). Horrible experience!
Muhieddine Labban: The worst passport photo I have ever gotten! They have no light set up and terrible resolution. Your photo will have shadows, and the colors will be pale. Do not go there! Use your iPhone instead and save your money. Also, it did not fit the requirements. The digital picture they sent us was also a scanned image of the poorly printed photos

The event was posted on eventbrite, and sounded amazing. However, when we arrived on site, they said they wouldn't give out cameras (something about not receiving the cameras, and that the store won't give out their own cameras). The staff didn't apologize and in the end we left. Quite a disappointing experience, so check this before you book any tours here!

If you are at all interested in photography , this needs to be a stop in for you, even just to see what “can” be. There is also a gallery in the store.

Leica camera are well out of my price range but they do carry some film stock and also they pointed me in the direction of some great places to get film developed close by.

Jenae Lien: Impressive Leica store and Gallery space. Located on such a hot corner spot in town.I am a huge advocator of the Leica brand, and this store is a must see if you are a Leica fan. They have an excellent selection of cameras available, from classics to the latest and new releases. I love their display section and how they showcase what glass looks like before it turns into a beautiful piece of the lens.Their gallery is supremely run and curated. Highly recommend you leave your email and get on their list for announcements like when the next gallery exhibits. They feature only the best of the best photographers in the game.Their staff are extremely knowledgeable, it’s so fun to pick their brain about cameras and photography.

Abby Paul: The customer service is incredible! After being recommended to come here to get the sensor in my camera cleaned I have absolutely no regrets! Not only were the staff friendly and helpful for a newbie photographer but they provided a great cleaning job (Thanks Griffin).My story does not stop there. After getting my camera cleaned I went to put my SD card back in my camera, and I could not find it! I could have sworn my SD card was in my bag that morning and I went straight to Waltham to pick up my camera. Turns out it had fallen out of my camera bag in my driveway (found the next day), but as I was unaware of this for 24 hours I was searching like a maniac. I shared my circumstance with the store and they went to work searching for me and were so helpful in trying to support my search (even taking the time to look at the security footage to see if I dropped it in the store/something happened)! I cannot express my gratitude more. Truly a wonderful shop that was extraordinarily helpful in both their services and support.

The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They will patiently answer answer any question you have. If you have a problem or need service, they are very willing to help and they will work with you to you find a solution. They are competitive for pricing. In an age of online shopping, to still have an have a store to walk into where they are happy to help and to be there when needed is terrific. I highly recommend them.

Melissa Rabbitt: I've been taking my camera bodies and lenses to Newtonville for a couple years now for lens calibration and have always found them to be sooo friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! But most recently, I took my Nikon d780 to them for repair after dropping it (eeeep!) and they went above and beyond trying to help me get it fixed (long story, but in a nutshell, getting it fixed is complicated and they really worked hard to make it happen for me!). I feel fortunate that they are literally right up the road from me and I would recommend them to anyone, professionals and hobbyists alike!
Brian Fitzpatrick: I was disappointed when I attempted to return a $130 protection filter that didn't perform to my expectations and was then told that they do not accept returns. Really? In 2022? There is no sign in the store that mentions anything about all sales are final (nor on the receipt, I checked) - but apparently they are. Is there any wonder why Amazon is crushing out of touch businesses like this?The manager also lectured me on why I shouldn't be using an ND filter in combination with the protection filter. I told him I had no issues with any other clear filter I've used on my other lenses - and I shoot a LOT of photos and video so I know what I'm talking about. If you weren't supposed to do that, why would the filter have threads on the front to accept another filter?? For $130, it should be flawless - it isn't but I'm stuck with it now.Giving it 2-stars because the people there are nice enough, but the strict "no return" policy is not worth the risk of buying anything there.

Fang Liu: I drove for 30 minutes to the store because of its high rating online. I need some advice to buy a camera for my upcoming trip. First I spoke to one of the staff members, apparently he didn't have much basic knowledge. After I waited for another experienced guy for 20 minutes, he gave a quick instruction to the inexperienced staff without heeding me any attention like I was air. Unfortunately the other guy still didn't have much clue, I left empty handed. I was able to find more info on Google, it really makes me wonder why so many so called camera stores are no longer in existence.

Tyler Maillet: Extremely helpful & resourceful.I called the office at around 4 PM requesting to rent a lens last minute for pickup the next day. As expected, the lens I was looking for (300 2.8) was out of stock. After asking what I was shooting, they gave me solid recommendations for other lenses that were in stock.I called them back about 15 minutes later, and decided to rent a 200-400 F4. Despite being a first-time customer renting a lens worth 5x more than my car, the rental process was smooth sailing from there. At 9 AM the next morning, the lens was ready for pickup and my weekend was saved.Without their help - and their recommendations - the shoot would’ve ended up far differently than it did. The lens was perfect for the job, and I know where I’ll be renting from here on out.

Gear always arrives on time (sometimes with candy), comes clean, well-prepped and ready to go. They are super knowledgable over the phone and get back to you quickly if you ever have a problem on set. They are lenient on late returns as long as you keep them updated. Fantastic people, highly recommend them for your next production.

Matthew Arnold: Super unprofessional return process. I was told numerous times the return email would be sent in minutes; an hour later I call them back only to be met with a short-tude. Just today I went to rent more gear and it was someone I hadn't talked to on the phone yet, great, new beginnings... He said I am banned from renting with a note on my account "rude to employee." If you want to avoid hassles and being banned for following up on their word, then use borrow lenses. Much cheaper as well
Cynthia Elliott: I'd arranged to rent a lens from BorrowLenses for an Alaskan wilderness photography trip but received an email the night before it was due to arrive, saying that they'd had a system "issue" & the lens had been canceled. With less than 1 day before I was leaving to go from FL to AK for a wilderness photography trip, I contacted LensProToGo & they arranged to have the exact lens I desired flown to the small town where I was in AK. Two days after I arrived in AK, the lens was delivered as promised. I don't know how they were able to do this but it saved my vacation & I highly recommend LensProToGo!

They refused to perform a repair I need, and instead tried to blame ATT and even made me go all the way to the dorchester Best Buy where I purchased the phone, over an hour away. Neither ATT nor Best Buy had any idea where the alert came from, leading me to the conclusion that all these hours of my day have been wasted due to the Cambridgeside Galleria Apple Store’s incompetence, as well as Apple as a whole’s abject failure to communicate problems and offer reasonable solutions. I am beyond disappointed in this failure to resolve my issue and will surely take my business to another company when I next need a cell phone.

Alex Mozule: I went there for a problem with my AirPods. They made me wait for an hour to help me (nobody was there), took 2 hours to "diagnose" the problem, then told me that there was no issues with my AirPods and that I should charge them... The problem wasn't fixed at all. Worst service I've had from an Apple Store :(There were plenty of workers chatting that would not take any initiative to help me. Won't be going back anytime soon, sorry!

I am just sharing my experience.This was my first time visiting this store and as expected there was rush but the lady representative who got my appointment request was very pleasant and helpful in explaining everything (how they will text me once it’s my turn).On the other side the representative who attended me was not in a happy mood at all ( I understand that- people are not always happy) but she was very unprofessional. She wasn’t explaining clearly what she was doing and was not concerned about the issue getting resolved at all. She also kind of whispered LOUDLY to her manger (I guess) that she has not taken her break yet, which was clearly heard by me. She actually setup my phone on some update and told me that she will be back (and obviously left for the 15-20 minute break) without letting me know what should I do with the prompts or anything else.I felt that very rude to leave the customer hanging and going for the break. But at least in that time I saw that the other representatives around were so helpful and happy with other customers.

Alanna Smith: Just visited Hunt's for the second time, and had another awesome experience. The first time I visited, I was buying my first mirrorless camera, and the gentleman who helped me really listened to what I was looking for, and let me test out different bodies and lenses to find the one that worked. Today I went in looking for a tripod, and was helped by Felix and Gregg. They were awesome. They helped me find tripods in my budget, but when I expressed that I was afraid my budget was limiting me to heavy tripods, they told me they had a used carbon fiber tripod in stock for a little above my budget. It ended up being a perfect fit and a great deal considering the high quality. I never felt like I was being pushed toward anything unnecessary or expensive—they obviously wanted to help me find what worked for my needs.(Felix and Gregg also showed me examples of their own photography, which was beautiful. It's nice to know that the people helping you are true experts in the field!)

I was able to pick up a "used" lens that looked pristine for half the price of a new one.
