Cara Beaudette: Wonderful results from this tailor shop! They have worked on a few pieces of mine and everything has come back top notch. I had a special request to have a corduroy jacket my late father wore resized into one that would fit me, they did an amazing job taking an XXL and bringing it down to size 6 fit for a woman. They also helped me out with a new lining of an old leather jacket as well as fixing a few leather pocket books. Matt McGillick: I dropped off 3 dress shirts and 1 jacket, all with sleeves to be hemmed by approximately 0.5 inches. I let the tailors know that I would prefer to have them within a week and a half. 9 days later and with no updates from them, I called and was told that none of my items were ready, but they would have them in 2 days. When I arrived, my items were sloppily hemmed, with stray threads and slightly uneven sleeves on 2 of the shirts. The other shirt, while hemmed correctly, had a broken button. I was charged $150 for this.Sure, they can tailor your items, but the quality and speed does not match the price.
Jenny S.: I brought my wedding gown to Le Couturier 2 weeks before my wedding (had to buy a second gown extremely last minute, as a different alterations place ruined my first gown). The ladies there told me no problem, and not only would they have it done in 1.5 weeks- they would be able to fit me in for 2 bridal fittings to ensure it fit right. Once I picked up my gown, it fit like an absolute glove. On my wedding night, I received so many compliments on how well my gown fit. So grateful for the ladies at Le Couturier- they truly saved my wedding day & I'm forever grateful!

Amanda Russell-Bolio: Okay. Really wanted to like this place but…when I arrived to pick up the items one of the alterations hadn’t been done. They had hemmed the pants but didn’t take in the waist.They agreed to do it then if I could wait as I needed these for a work function and couldn’t pick up the next day. Which I did appreciate and they did a great job on it.However, I was so focused on making sure the waist fit that I didn’t notice the hem till I got home. One pant leg is an inch shorter than the other.I don’t have time to take it anywhere else before this work function.So I was charged about $60 for a pair of pants I can’t wear.They also charged more than I was quoted, plus a fee to have it done in a week which no one informed me about.

Ali Hamadani: This place has the worst customer service I've ever received. I was asking the tailor for alteration service of two pants within a day and he goes that's $10 extra because you want it within a day. I tried to negotiate if he can go lower, and he threw my clothes away and say if you don't like the price here are your clothes. Besides that the place is a heap of second-hand clothes everywhere. Please save your time and money by going to another tailor, that's what I did. Stay away and don't get duped by the “French name” and the shop being in the best area of Cambridge. Horrible experience and unprofessional, I've made the biggest mistake by stopping by this shop.

Doris Jenkins: I had a very difficult experience with this tailor. I brought in a bridesmaid dress approximately 3 months before the event that needed shortening and the some adjustments to the bust. What was originally an A Line Dress was turned into an Empire waist dress that was ill fitting and frankly unflattering. I expressed my displeasure and they attempted to fix it twice but eventually the wedding was too close and I had to wear it as it was. After 4 fittings and too much stress and time I was very unhappy with the product I got as it was practically falling off my shoulders at the wedding (not a good look for someone in the bridal party). I would not go back for any sort of gown alteration.

The price was very fair for the work she did.There wasn’t a lot of communication while they had the dress and I had to call a few times to ask if it was ready (never received a text like I was told) but the work definitely made up for that.

The time after I brought a dress to have it cut, no even sewed, and he charged me 30 dollars.I was surprised and told him, and he said that prices were not fixed... Yea, I can tell! I am a French student and I thought that was a very lame way to charge people, especially when you asked less money for a much more complicated work before... Would recommend other tailor around, I have been to and who don't charge people depending on their mood!!

Diana Avery: I truly never write reviews, but had a terrible experience here. Brought in a dress just to get the neckline altered. Unprompted, the owner cut the seams on the dress to take a "closer look" at the neckline to help her decide whether she would even be able to fix it, then quoted me a really high price. I decided to try another tailor instead, so I asked her to sew back up the dress that she cut, and she became so rude and had a terrible attitude. She argued with me about even fixing the issue she created. Said I would need to come back in 2 hours if I wanted her to do that. She did not even want to speak to me when I came back in to collect the dress
Charlotte Rogg: Wouldn’t recommend this tailor to anyone. Brought in my coat to fix a rip and received my coat with a completely broken zipper. Forced to pay to fix zipper. Completely unprofessional and overpriced.
Yuening Zhang: I had zippers fixed and elastic band added for my dresses. The lady was very nice and she discussed with me on how to better fix the dress. I got it second day with a little bit extra fee, but the price was reasonable and cheaper than another place I went. I would come back again.

Sam Gomes: Excellent service! I went in for three buttons (with two missing, and these were a hard type of button to find) and pants to be hemmed, and she had them ready the very next day for the very fair price of $17 (the two missing buttons were an expensive variety, being made of leather).
Maxim Imakaev: Did a last-minute alteration promptly (same-day). Quick and professional. The price was very reasonable.
Peter J. Wender: My old tailor went out of business, and I was looking for a new tailor in Cambridge. Brought a very simple “trial” job to Aroush’s – sew 4 buttons on each sleeve of a new sport coat. I came with all the material (buttons and thread) and a sample coat to show exactly what was needed. The tailor waved off the sample saying it was very simple. It wasn’t. The completed job was sloppy: thread sewed all the way through the inner lining of the sleeve (sample had it only through the out layer of fabric), left white basting thread in place to hold flaps together, and didn't get even spacing so some buttons ride up on top of next one while others leave gaps. Tailor offered to redo it saying, “It will only take 5 minutes”, yet refused to accept less than the full $20 for the job as-is, claiming it had taken a long time. Can’t understand. If a good job takes 5 minutes, why does a sloppy job take longer? Skill level did not seem to be there to do a proper job, so I declined the offer to redo.This is a one star rather than zero star review because it was ready at the promised time.

One of them, my favourite dress, was damaged (the buttons were chipped or broken).When I asked for a partial refund, they told me that I assumed the risk of damage to my garments when I drop them off. Michael Anand-Obleton: Best tailors ever! We were all set to wear our stylish purple suits to our son's wedding, but less than 24 hours before the ceremony, his fiancée brought my husband and me each a traditional Indian kurta Paijama dress and we wanted to impress her by wearing them to the wedding. Unfortunately, however, they were way too small for either of us to fit into: my husband's arms were too big and muscular, and my chest was too big for the garment to fit over my head. Although these tailors were extremely busy on a holiday weekend, they still decided to work overtime to make sure we looked perfect for our son's wedding. They are wonderful people who do exceptional work, and we will always come back to them anytime we're here in Boston.
