Canton Equestrian Center: what do users think?
Jen Kola: Great place to ride close to Boston.
Lauren: 5 stars! been taking lessons for nearly 6 years and have leased 2 school horses here, and i love it! i am also a working student (lessons in exchange for helping, which is helping kids, cleaning, etc.) and it's definitely worth it. the Hughes family run the barn great, and Jen is a great trainer! i have been with her since 2016 and have never been disappointed. the facility is nice and the barn has a community atmosphere!
Kate Bosolango: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityLoved going on rides here when I first started learning.
Mary Beth Decker: My daughter took lessons here while attending nearby Curry College. She loved riding at CEC. The lesson horses are great, well cared for and offered a good variety for students with different riding abilities. The lesson tack was comfortable (unlike at many other lesson barns). Fellow students were friendly and supportive. Best of all, the trainer Debbie, is excellent! Her instructions are clear, and she understands the abilities and limits of her students, which makes for productive and safe lessons.
Jane Wood: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThe people at the barn are so nice and helpful. They are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They know what they are talking about too. The horses are nice and lovely. The horses love everyone and like to be loved too!
Together Forever: Positive:Professionalism,Value
Julia Livs: CEC is my favorite home away from home! The Hughes are wonderful and the instructors are beyond friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for a better place to ride!
Leah DeLorenzo: This barn is amazing. The facility is clean, safe, and spacious. The horses are cared for with the utmost respect and the trainers are top quality. I recommend this barn to every rider in the area.
kennedy sheehan: Amazing barn that models the upmost care and love for all of the horses in the facility. Highly recommend!
Julia Giaquinto: The Hughes Family is the best! Great atmosphere to board your horse!
Bri Thomas: Mary, Owen, Owen Jr., and Timmy are true professionals and have taken wonderful care of my horse this winter. I highly recommend the Hughes family and their beautiful facility with access to THE BEST trails around.
Susan Kelleher: My daughter is very shy and timid. She was handled very gently by the instructor from start to finish. Nice to see she was taught horsemanship from the stall to cross ties to lesson ring, and not just brought a tacked up horse to get onto. The grounds are clean, organized, and professional. A wonderful family barn that also offers 4H on site, and week long school vacation camps. A perfect place to involve your kids and family in equestrian sports. Very nice facility to board horses with the indoor ring, outdoor jumping ring, and miles of trails just across the street in the Blue Hills Reservation.
Monica Olszewski: It was VERY bad. My daughter has been riding for a long time now and all she did for an $80 private lesson was walk. She trotted 2 times and that's it! The riding instructor was very mean and taught everything about walking, trotting, forward seat again to her even though she told her she knew it! At the end of the lesson my daughter was going to put away the pony by herself (like at all the other barns she went to) and the instructor started screaming at her so she never got to. The stables were very dirty, no lights on when they are there when it's dark, spiders and all that yucky stuff and it's just the worst! When my daughter was taking off the tack from her pony she did everything correctly (I used to be horse trainor) and the instructor said she did everything wrong and had to SHOW her how to CORRECTLY do it. Then we were about to leave I asked how did she do and she said oh well she's good but she needs a lot more private one hour lessons until she can go on a group where at the other barn she could go on what ever kind of lesson she wanted to. The lessons are $80 so if she wanted her to go on 4 before group that would be $360! This place is a scam! Please don't go there.

Windkist Equestrian Center: what do users think?
Kris wehrhahn: Lovely horses, no drama, happy customers.
Dan O'Brien: Granddaughter love's it
Peter Kinney: I'm person that has worked there I have nothing to do with horses or riding them I'm in back of the arena, and I wanted to say to that about that Rivers character that she way out line with her mouth her kids shouldn't even touch animals if you're nervous being around them animals can pick up your they can sence your feelings I feel more bad for the cat then the kid. This lady has no respect for anybody else but herself she could care less she just want to start something and show her authority there that you don't want to screw with her.
Anita Veatch: I’m taking private adult lesson’s with Paula. She is absolutely the best instructor there. She is very patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable. She pushes you to do your very best each lesson. I took an eight year break due to having small children. We are already planing for the future and what my goals are.
Nooralhuda Arkan: Horrible experience! Staff are super rude and not welcoming at all.
Jon Cody: The best. I of course love the place. Fun everyday and horses too!!
Trish Jones: I am so impressed with this barn! I came to this barn specifically all the way from South Florida on the recommendation of a friend. I must say that everything I was told about this wonderful farm was a complete understatement. The staff is incredible and the horses, alpacas, mules were well cared for. You can feel the love and compassion this farm has for their visitors and animal's. I am already planning next summers trip back north so my sister and her children can experience what I've had the pleasure of experiencing here! I was a bit timid around horses but that statement no longer applies. They helped me with being completely comfortable and confident. The staff here is extremely competent and helpful. I'm completely comfortable with recommending this barn to anyone who is looking for lessons and a fun experience. Windkist Farm your amazing!!
Christine Tetrault: Critical:ProfessionalismThese people do not know how to treat children!!! Horrible service!!
Annie Berkley: We love this barn because of the people. They care for the horses with dedication and love. They support my daughter and the young people learning to ride with kindness, direction, expertise and a real sense of community. It’s because of their professionalism and deep commitment to the horses and riders that my daughter fell in love with the sport. She was able to find and now pursue her life’s passion because of the wonderful people at Windkist. A true family run barn with a family feel.
Melissa Rivers: I am so disappointed with our experience here. My children (6 and 8) were attending a week long camp. On the morning of the 2nd day, no one was there to greet the children or tell them what to do. I waited and within minutes my daughter had been approached, bitten and scratched by a cat while in the barn. No one was able to provide me with appropriate first aid supplies (I initially used water and toilet paper to attempt to clean the wound- in the filthy bathroom in the barn, ultimately after 3 attempts, they found hydrogen peroxide) and still no one was in charge checking on my daughter or available to help. I asked to speak to the owner. She did not have any information on where the camp counselor was. Not one single member of the staff showed any compassion for what had happened and the owner was generally put off with my concern that my children were unsupervised or that my daughter had been hurt. When i asked what would happen if it was a real emergency, she responded "we just called 911 a few days ago" for someone who was really hurt. I explained that i didn't feel my children were safe, we were leaving and i wanted a refund for the balance of the week, she refused and became incredibly hostile at me. When a business is offering a camp, then you need to ensure adequate supervision and safety for the children (and supplies available to clean a wound). When there is an issue with a customer, you should speak civilly and show some compassion for a 6 year old who was so upset that she had been hurt. I truly hope she treats the animals with more compassion than she did me and my children. I truly hope no one has to experience this treatment ever. The owner's response to my post only further solidifies my disappointment and it is a completely inaccurate account of the events.
Kenneth Hanson: We have the best time when we are there, everyone is great
Pamela Downs: Beautiful horse farm, friendly and inviting staff
P J: DO NOT COME HERE ! Wish I could give a 0 star review since it is that bad!!! We made a reservation for 4 ppl 2 weeks early and we confirmed with the owner SEVERAL TIMES over the phone. Yet by the time we arrived, staff was telling us there’s only 1 name on the list??? We tried to explain and find an answer, but all we got was a “no”.. . Then the owner came and basically said she didn’t know what happened, it wasn’t her problem but it is what it is... Like seriously they cannot even say a single sorry after having their customers wake up early, driving all the way there, and left to hang dry for no reason. On top of that, we totally second all other zero reviews others left here - messy scheduling, having kids do work unsupervised all over the farm, and VERY VERY RUDE. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Doesn’t matter what the owner would say for rebuttals, you will see the reality when u go there and c for urself.
Kelsey Contreras: My first time going there was this Sunday 2/28. I had an amazing time! It had been a while since I’ve ridden a horse so I got started with and evaluation in the beginner class. The instructors were extremely nice, their volunteers were amazing especially the one that helped me around named Molly. She made sure I was always ready to go from walk to trot and even had conversation with me as we were going around. The instructors helped me as I was riding by giving me tips as I was riding the horse which helped a lot! They even helped me improve just within an hour of work and while focusing on the other riders as well! I highly recommend this place to any riders looking for stables. It was an amazing experience and I will definitely be back for more! Thank you for make my first time back riding a great one!
Tara Sandoval: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Zachary ONeil: Do NOT give this establishment your business. The owner told us (in front of 10 other parents) that our daughter has "SEVERE ISSUES" and should be progressing much further and needs to go somewhere else. This was in front of my child who cried & cried after. The lady then refused to give us a refund for the last week of lessons and when we persisted she said "OK I WILL GET HER OFF THE HORSE RIGHT NOW". My daughter is 6 years old. The woman (owner) had no problem taking $800 from us over 2 months before blowing up. She then was telling families still there that my child was "Disabled" and could not go there. I remained calm, and told her it is 2020 you cannot do this while other parents agreed. DO NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN YOUR MONEY. Who treats a 6 year old like this? No matter her rebuttal or if she replies, she did this 100%. Search local North Andover/Andover mom groups on Facebook and you'll see similar reports.
Joey Crowley: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Francesca Messina: Critical:Professionalism,ValueNot a place for any child. The instructors are not professional, they discriminate, and are not a business any parent should patronize.
TonyTheTaco: My name is Anthony Vitale and I came here for a horse camp event and I loved it so much. By far the best farm I’ve ever been to. I’ve become a student worker and I help clean up the stalls. The staff are very kind and responsible. PS: Gunnar is the best horse!
Quinn Jones: Staff is difficult to get hold of and unresponsive. Kids are left unsupervised while doing chores around the barn. The facility is a dilapidated mess.

Sugar Ridge Farm: what do users think?
Kate Bosolango: Positive:QualityTook classes here and got so much better at riding!
Nina Irwin: I board my horse at Sugar Ridge Farm. He and I love it there. He gets great care and it is a second home for me. We learn dressage and have fun. Huge indoor and outdoor arenas and miles of trails.
Laura Talmud: If you want to learn to ride or board your horse, you can't beat Sugar Ridge Farm. The horses are so well cared for, happy and healthy. The facility is super, large indoor arena for year round riding, and a sand outdoor arena, plus access to miles of trails. It has a very friendly laid back atmosphere. There is a good balance of boarders and lesson horses. A unique facility so close to Boston.
Deidre Nestor: I have been riding at Sugar Ridge Farm for over a decade now. The horses receive superb care, and are known to be happy here, coming back from injuries or over-training in other disciplines and then thriving. If you are looking for a place that feels more like a family than a business, you’re in the right place. The instruction is excellent, pushing you and the horse to be the best team possible. Board and lessons are priced fairly for the area, and you get the most value for your money here, where the horse is always the priority. So bring your horse, or just come and learn- this is the best place to do it!
carin zuchero: Very welcoming you will learn more and have a true understanding the art of riding. This barn is mainly a adult barn but all ages are welcome. Come and visit
Andrew Myerson: My horse and I have been at Sugar Ridge Farm for a year and a half now. The care my horse gets is unbelievable. She and all the other horses exude good health and happiness. Carin takes the best care of them, and has a team of vet, farrier, etc. who are superb. As far as lessons go, my riding has improved so much since I have been there. The other folks who are there are also wonderful. It is a very caring and supportive environment. I enjoy every minute I am there whether I am riding, doing barn chores of just socializing.
