Christine Oliver: I have been meaning to write a review for AJ Spears Funeral Home for the last few months, but life has been so busy that I hadn't gotten around to it til now.Well, so many things that need to be said here and anything I write will not make justice to all the love and care my deceased loved one and my family have received.Tony Spears is an amazing soul and took care of everything from start to finish, including shipping the body to its final resting place overseas.Everything was done meticulously with love instilled in every detail.I was kept informed of every detail as the days progressed and they did a beautiful, honorable job taking care of my loved one and getting him ready.The service was beautiful and I felt free to do things in a way that honored my loved one's wishes.There was so much love, care and patience from parking til the moment everyone said their last goodbyes.Very respectful, very honorable, very human, from the phone calls, e-mails and texts til we met in person and beyond.Tony, once again, please accept my utmost gratitude on behalf of my whole family.You have been an angel sent from above. You went above and beyond everything expected and for it we are forever grateful.

Carolyn: Do not hire this guy! He is a terrible terrible person. He started a job in my house and then went to Nicaragua call a month and when he came back he would not answer his phone anymore. I sent him multiple text messages and phone messages. Thankfully I had a phone number for his partner who then told me he went to work in Vermont and you didn't know when he would be back. Of course this is all lies because he doesn't go anywhere without his phone, and also why did he answer the phone for his friend and not for me impact of all of thisHe is a really sleazy guy and she will take your money and not finish the job as he did for me.!

I am a young person (in my early 30's) and therefore have never planned a funeral before. Chad, the director, was extremely kind and instrumental in helping me through the process. They were always available by phone for questions (no busy signals or statements of "we'll have to call you back!" like the other place) and just so, so kind. On the day of, their service was EXCELLENT and they treated my family and visitors so well, it was unbelievable. I know Keefe is a family run business that has been around for years and I hope they continue to be. Thank you very much for everything.

They also accommodated for flowers sent by family and friends to be picked up at their location, which made it very convenient for me. I was told by a woman that I can go ahead and fill out the forms for my mother who at the time was just started on hospice care so it wil all be filled out and I wouldn’t have to deal with it later on. So I submitted them and then I was harassed by some guy to pay! He called me several times and I had intended to just pay when the time came. I got annoyed with him so I just paid in full 5 months before my months passed just to avoid another call. I felt insulted with that like I was trying to get over. He said he just had issues where one family member says the other was to pay etc. but I didn’t do anything just fill the paperwork that women suggested I do to have on file. Anyway, moving forward when the time came everything was smooth. The man who came to get mom was pleasant, kind, caring and professional. Everything else was smooth and went well. They were very helpful as well.

Linda Schneider: I recently used Casper for Cremation Services and a viewing before cremation at St. Michael's in Boston for my late father, who was in hospice care at a local nursing home. Hospice recommended contacting and arranging for service in advance and I cannot stress the importance of taking this step. I never would have been able to complete the required paperwork in the immediate aftermath of my father's death.The day after Casper picked up my father's body, a staff member called to get more information about the viewing and she set me off. The woman immediately put me in touch with Ken Casper who had walked me through completing the paperwork and using Docusign back in the summer. Ken walked a fine line between understanding my fragile state and not throwing his staff member under the bus - which I was able to appreciate and respect. I was given the work cell phone numbers of two of the three brother owners ---- Davd and Ken. The third brother, Joe, was present for the viewing at St. Michael's Crematorium so that I and two dear friends could say goodbye to my father before he was cremated. They did a great job dressing him and working with me to find a date and time that worked so that I could have my friends' support. Finally, Jake, Dave's son, was extremely kind when I arrived to pick up my father's ashes - providing an extra urn and label at no charge for my late mother's ashes. (The container I was given after my mother's cremation in New York was so flimsy the bottom fell apart shortly after I picked up her ashes.)I also appreciate the fact that they provide web-based obituaries as part of the service. I strongly recommend taking advantage of the viewing option before cremation. It costs $400 because a funeral director must be present - but those able to incur the cost without undue hardship will feel a sense of gratitude and closure.I highly recommend Casper's.

Barbara Lemieux: We used Casper for my mother's passing. They made my mother's death harder. They were very vague and somewhat insensitive. My brother was the one communicating with them and he couldn't get an idea when her body would be ready, at one point a woman accused my brother of trying to push my mother ahead of " the line". I then called them, spoke to a man and told him what was said to my brother and he told me that was not true. No one there would ever say that. We were accused essentially of being greedy and lying by their staff. I called the crematorium directly and kindly got the information we needed. Obviously do not recommend.

At my request they hung a memory quilt I had made my mom and it meant so much to all our friends and family to be able to look at it and enjoy all the memories. They made the process of planning a funeral in only 2 days simple and easy to choose everything we wanted both in readings and in songs. Sheila Hickey is a gift from God in her sincerity and caring attitude. I highly suggest this wonderful group to help you through the loss of a loved one. Plus they are very reasonably priced in comparison to many other like businesses.
