A Tranquil House in Cambridge: what do users think?
Karen J: Very cozy and spacious place. Bed is super comfy. Kitchen is equipped with tools you need to cook with. Super clean place. Large fridge to stock some groceries in. Enjoyed my stay there, will book again.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Relaxing, Great value …More
elisabeth bates: Kitty’s house was perfect for our family! Kitty is quick to respond and very helpful. The apartment is a large three bedroom, one bath, with a lot of light, on the first floor of the house. It also has a fourth room with a single bed. The kitchen has granite countertops and has good keurig coffee. The furniture is older and it is not a modern styled home, but the home is very clean and the furniture is very comfortable. Beds and pillows are good, body wash and shampoo/ conditioner are higher end. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood. You will need a car or use Uber, but with the money you will save on Kitty’s house you will still come out ahead! It is a quick car/ Uber ride to Harvard Square. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Kathleen Kelly: made a return visit, and impressed again with how lovely the place is--especially now as the front garden comes into bloom! Mark is extremely kind and accommodating.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Christiano Demacedo: I love this place. Bus routes are so close, supermarket right at the end of the street, beautiful Fresh Pond reservation 2 blocks away. Beautiful Mt. Auburn cemetery just blocks away. It is a heaven.
Brian Madrid: Rooms are nice and large common area with full kitchen. Highly recommend!
Aimee Felker: The good: Cute place and sweet owner. Comfortable beds. Full upstairs of a duplex with the owners living downstairs. Adequate street parking. Pleasant walk to Harvard Sq (30 min) and very close to Mt Auburn Hospital and Cemetery. The bad: ZERO soundproofing and 4 construction workers living upstairs who get up really early and make a full breakfast in the kitchen right outside room 4 (2 dbl beds). Room 3 is adjacent to the entry (immediately next to the front door) and also opens to the bathroom (basically a “pass through room” when not occupied). Bring your own toilet paper as there is only 1 partial roll to share.
Victor Shu: Clean, spacious, quiet and friendly neighborhood, helpful and hospitable host.
Tom Thompson: Such a nice place to stay with very helpful hosts!
Bobby Taylor: Very friendly and spacious stay, was a little worried about it being more like an apartment than a hotel but couldn't have asked for a better experience.
PAUL CASSIDY: Clean, quiet but not near Harvard square.
Susan Boynton: Absolutely perfect place to stay. Great neighborhood and the owners were extremely pleasant and helpful!! I would highly recommend it for a stay in Boston!
Tish Macinnis: Our family of 11 stayed at Kitty's for 4 nights in April. It was an excellent stay. Clean & spacious. Our hosts were very helpful !!

Cambridge Smart House: what do users think?
Stephen Walkauskas: Extremely clean and comfortable. I slept very well on the quality mattress and pillows. Much more pleasant than staying at a hotel.
Susan McDaniel: Very clean and quiet
Chao Lian: No carpet makes the noise so unbearable. Every time someone walks upstairs, it sounds like earthquakes. The noise will not stop until 1am, but will definitely come back before 7am.In the morning, someone even hammers the wall for unknown reason.Unfortunately, I got the room in the basement. It's really really cold, even in late June. I can't open the AC to warm the room, because there isn't any.The bed is too small for six feet tall person like me. They don't care which kind of bed you choose; they only give you what they have.I am on a business trip so I am too busy to complain anything to the manager. But I don't think they can do anything to fix any these problem even I give them the feedback, since the house is the cause of the disaster.Considering it costs 200 bucks per day, it looks even worse.Just don't book it, like never!
Frankie the Shoe Hall: Great place for alternative to a hotel room!
Monica Cellio: The room was clean and comfortable (better than institutional hotel rooms) and the manager is friendly. It's a house not a hotel, so noise was a problem even though people weren't being rowdy - footsteps from upstairs, kitchen noise after midnight, and a TV (ok that was an unreasonable guest).A big surprise to me was the "no shoes" policy. The provided disposable flip-flops do not fit or stay on. I went barefoot but I don't like doing that outside my own house. I'm a reasonable person; I wipe my feet, an careful if there's snow or mud, but I don't think guests should have to avoid ordinary behavior like staying dressed in a residence. I could bring my own slippers (if I knew, which I didn't), but I don't think I should have to when I'm paying for a room. Will I return? Depends on the weather and whether they can offer a quieter room, I guess.
Sherrie-Lynn Brown: Good service, otherwise average
WiNoJoE: Hard to find location. Very noisy floors. Bedside table & lamp on only one side of the bed, why is that? Maybe they want to limit one to a bed? Very hard to understand the caretakers, almost bad enough to need an interpreter. And no, I will NOT take my shoes off indoors unless *I* want to, not when I'm shelling out $200 per night.
Adam Grandt: Large room with a shared restroom in the hall. Very clean and comfortable.
Michael Knoell: Very nice new accommodations.
Yvonne Santiago: Love it!!

A Cambridge House Inn At Porter: what do users think?
Kristian Soholm: Our room - mattress especially - had not been updated in 25+ years, with a tiny 15" flat screen for entertainment and only one night stand. About as uncomfortable as a bed can get. Desk clerk was curt and seemed tired of the whole thing. Christmas decorations were still up in mid-March . . .Rooms: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Rafa O: Muy buena experiencia.
Joey: Reconsider staying here if you plan to work, study, or sleep. The Wi-Fi was spotty at best, and there was an incessant tapping that turned into an aggressive knocking between 3 and 4 am. The location is literally the only good thing I experienced at this place.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
John Smith: I was disappointed by the lack of empathy demonstrated by the staff at this hotel. When I suffered property damage during my stay, I noted it with the hotel owner, and instead of any empathy or help in the trying time, I was instead told that I was trying to make a fraudulent claim and that they wouldn't do anything to help. And instead of prioritizing customer experience for other guests, they invited me that if I cared so much, I should go annoy all the other guests by telling them about my problem one by one by knocking on their door rather than sending an e-mail or something else that isn't going to annoy everyone.I had already expressed empathy to them previously when, due to weather circumstances, I had to shorten my stay, and they had claimed it was not possible for them to refund me for the days I was unable to make it to the hotel. I understood that it was not their fault, and did not try to make their life difficult. I wish that they would have afforded me this same courtesy.

Ryan Johanson: Very clean and cozy BnB. Davis Square and the Davis red line station are just 5 mins walking from the hotel. Lots of fun shops and restaurants in both Porter and Davis. Great value as well. Visited Cambridge a few months prior to this stay, made the mistake of getting an overpriced AirBnb, never ever again. A Cambridge House is now my go to place to stay when visiting Boston, 100%.
Markus Dirmoser-Kume: it was ok for the price - nice locationRooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Oliver Janssen: I forgot my key at the office one night. When returning to the hotel I called the service number on the door, but no one answered. Somehow their system wasn’t accepting calls from my international number. I kept trying to reach someone for an hour but ended up having to look for another hotel to spend the night. In the end they refunded me half the price of 1 night. The whole thing cost me $100. I’m never coming here again and strongly recommend you to consider another option as well.
Jesse Dunn: Nice place, friendly staffRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
M L: Shame on the proprietors. Avoid this place!... unless you like running the risk of reserving a room as pictured on the website, then being led to a filthy, broken-down flophouse of a space in another building down the street. Absolutely disgraceful. And if that happens, don't be surprised if they charge you -- even if you walk out because of their bad faith business practices. They didn't even consider making it up to us, much less attempting to do so! I wouldn't know how nice a stay would be if they give you a proper room. Tragically bad way to do business.
The rooms are very dirty and run down. The structure is not cared for and is not maintained. If we also consider the very high price, I strongly advise against it.
Miro Gavin: Not for germaphobes. The covid precautions seem okay, but disinfected and sterile dirt on the sheets is still dirt on the sheets. Also, they had MOLD GROWING on the air conditioner. It's cold so it accumulates water, grows mold, and then because it grows on the air conditioner, the conditioner blows the mold spores everywhere. So disgusting, but I haven't gotten sick yet.
NewJak Executive Limousine: This Inn is very nice. They accommodated me very well. The staff is very responsive!Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Peter: OMG what a nightmare! We booked the room 6 months in advance based on the nice Victorian room pics on website. Then when we checked in, he put us in the house next door with super small rooms, used garage sale furniture, old 20” tv (non smart tv) and nothing like the photos advertised! I went back to hallway and caught him walking in and told him this is unacceptable because we booked the Victorian rooms. He said others paid more for rooms so they got the Victorian rooms. I told him this is a bait and switch and he stormed off while I was still talking to him. Then we pulled covers back to check the sheets and there was a black hair on pillow case and a stain on sheet. My wife called on phone and asked if they could change the sheets? He yelled at her “you don’t like, you can leave right now!”… I started looking around for hidden cameras thinking surely we must be getting punked for a new reality show on Air BnB’s! It was like the soup guy in the Seinfeld TV series! This all happened in first 10 minutes of arriving. We checked hotels in area and all were booked so had stay here. But wait it gets better, upon leaving room to check out, the lock broke on door and we were literally locked inside our room and had to wait until someone could open door with key from outside! I won’t even mention the towels from Dollar store or the dirty trash cans never emptied outside on porches etc.. Also they advertise as Bed & Breakfast but they Do Not serve breakfast. They don’t even have fruit or water or anything like that. You’ve been warned!!!
Daniel Brodie: Easy drive from CT. It’s excellent, very convenient, clean, and close to the place I was taking my test! Great service and amazing location! I’m thoroughly satisfied, I definitely will come back.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Anthony Mack: This is a small hotel and thats what makes it great, personable, caring staff. Big, quiet rooms with comfy beds at a great price. Laundry and a 5 min walk to the subway and Davis square. Honestly pleasantly surprised and will be staying again when I come back to Boston!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Mohammad Heshmati: Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff (although at times they didn't answer the phone, but they are very accommodating), great location (good restaurants nearby, close to Metro, a grocery store is right across the street). Irving House at Harvard: what do users think?
Kanchana Sukumar: Decent sized room but we had to climb a steep and narrow staircase to reach our room on the 3 rd floor. Luckily we didn't have much luggage to haul up , which would have been impossible to climb with. But the breakfast spread was good . On the expensive side but was in a good location.. We only stayed a night.
Andrew Sheng: A great play to stay for solo travelers visiting Harvard - the location is right next to Harvard Square, there always seem to be interesting travelers at breakfast, and the service is great!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Saeid Aman: What a beautiful place and people, I felt like home in my first visit of Cambridge/Boston. Close to everything. It’s an old building so definitely there are gonna be some sounds from walking and clothing doors but I felt everyone was trying to keep the atmosphere calm with less noises like a family. Even shared bathrooms were so clean, breakfast fresh and nice. Last but not least is their fair price for nights in compare to others.Thank you Irving House for your hospitality.
Local Resident: Look past all the negative reviews here who expect a brand new Marriott. This is a charming and (very) old B&B that has served the Harvard community for 100+ years. The place is close to everything on campus, a few mins to a T stop, very friendly and professional people, clean rooms, parking and a great breakfast. We have been regulars here for many years and strongly recommend.

Allie: Nearby activities: Very close to harvard sq that has lots of stores and good restaurantsWalkability: Easy to walk to harvard sq and campus. And maybe even Central sq (MIT) if you want a longer walk
Deep Chatterjee: I stayed at Irving house 5 years back when visiting MIT, and I really liked it, so I came back when I was visiting MIT again. I took a single room with shared bath. The room is perfect for a single person. It's compact yet efficient. The bed was also very comfortable. It's perfect for a short stay, if you are out for work on campus mostly. I always found the bathrooms available. It's a little bit of a walk to MIT campus, but I enjoyed it. I remembered the breakfast being great, and it still is. Overall, great value for price for a short working stay.Another update: stayed third time here and still as good as before. The breakfast I felt is better.
Kevin klingler: Room was slightly bigger than a shoebox. Air conditioning barely functioned in our room. We tried opening the window, but the ac condenser for the building was right under the window...pumping hot air right into our open window. Front desk wasn't helpful.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sabrina Nugent: Cute, clean B&B. Cold, good tasting water plus tea and coffee available all day. There’s even a porch in the front where you can hang out at any time of the day. Thirteen minutes from the closest T stop. In a very quiet part of Cambridge.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
A H: Beautiful homely hotel. Shared bathrooms and small rooms, but it feels quite cozy. Breakfast is provided.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Michelle M: We had a great stay in a private queen room (w/ private bathroom). The breakfast was incredible each morning. The rooms are a little warm, but staff accommodated me by not only turning the thermostat slightly cooler, but also by providing me with a small fan, making it the perfect temp in the room. We didn't use the laundry facilities, but they are available and coin operated. There is an ice machine and a water filter in the basement, as well as multiple shared refrigerators. It would have been great to have a fridge in the room, but we weren't too inconvenienced by having to share. Coffee available even in the afternoon, and it's decent coffee! Thanks for the stay. We'll come again.
Praveen Vavilala: Loved the experience. Comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast. The only thing I would improve on is the wifi connectivity, it was spotty on the fourth floor
Kilian Klösel: Very good location close to Harvard square. Clean rooms, some with their own bathroom, very good breakfast and always free coffee and fruits at the lobby. Also free Wi-Fi and a 24/7 reception which is quite helpful

The Windsor Inn: what do users think?
Arturo Urbina: Muy buen sitio, y la atención, excelente.
Colin Li: Windsor Inn is a home! We stayed here for 10 days and absolutely love it! Perfect location and nice host! The room is clean and spacious with private rest room, and equipped with all necessary stuff that a traveler needs. Our host, Mr. Marc is always around and helping and he provide a place not only for just a stay, but an experienced of stay at home. Highly recommended it. Windsor Inn is like a hidden gem and it is definably a place I will stay next time we visit Cambridge MA.
Jamie McCarthy: Dumpling class here was great. Fun and delicious.
Irma Couretot: Excelente!!
Shawn Herron: For the dumpling class- the hosts were great and very nice, but it was not worth $80. It was semi-fun, didn’t really learn anything
Nehemiah Sabinus Alozie: Very lovely home away from home. I enjoyed every home comfort I needed.
Bob Pitha: I was at a team building event, a cooking class making Chinese dumplings. It was really well taught and very enjoyable. The event was held in the inn's kitchen and dining area. There was another room for what we were doing. It was clean and we'll tended. It's a difficult part of Cambridge to park in, and the meters max out at 2 hours although it was a 2.5 hour class. There is some parking in the inn's driveway, can and nobody had any real problem finding a place to park. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend it highly.
Eliad Cohen: I came to the Windsor in for a private event. The place is maticulously maintained and the atmosphere is amazing. The owners (who also hosted the event) are great and it was evident that they maintain personal relationships with recurring guests. If I was visiting town, I'd definitely book with them.
Marc Shulman: Great complimentary breakfast! Loved the home made banana chocolate walnut muffins, French toast and mixed cheese plates!
James Dandois: Amazing experience. Owners where very helpful and nice home like feel to it.
Carlos Pereira: It's an inn. Some informations are misleading like having a continental breakfast
Yusuf Sha'aban: Nice and flexible in house keepers.
Gil Hong: Definitely worth it for the price, but YMMV with the noise of other guests. Breakfast options and coffee we're decent with access to fridge space and ample AC.
