Longfellow House-Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site: what do users think?
Stephen N.: Always exquisitely manicured. This property is in a very historic and plain old popular, area of Cambridge. If it's a nice weekend or holiday, you may want to take public transportation as parking is few and far between and expensive... Unless you come early on the weekends and park at a meter... That's free all weekend with no limit!!! Harvard Sq, historic West Cambridge, and Mem. Dr./Charles River area will give enough stuff to see for a year... If you go everyday!!
Bria Yazic: Wonderfully thoughtful and interesting tours focused on the people who lived in the house over the years. Check out a tour with Ranger Kate!
Sarah Womack: I visited the museum on a Saturday afternoon. I saw the Shovel to Shelf exhibit which showcased artifacts from an archeological dig on the grounds. Then I took the guided tour of the house. It was a fascinating blend of information about George Washington's nine month stay in the house during the siege of Boston, and information about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and his family's residence there.
Jason Macey: This is an historic site for two types of revolutionary (at least). The tour I took was slanted toward the literary (which is my preference), but was generous in its view of history in the grandest sense. The NPS does a fantastic job in bringing the diverse aspects of this house and its inhabitants to life.
Antonio Caban: Can’t say enough about the National Park Service staff at Longfellow. Knowledgeable, welcoming and accommodating! I took my infant son on the tour with me and they were great when I had to duck out early. They made me and him feel very welcome. We can’t wait to come back and finish the tour.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Jessica Mcarthur: House is absolutely incredible. So beautiful, authentic, and well-preserved. I subtracted one star for the tour guide who seemed intent on spreading misinformation about George Washington. I don't expect him to be a Harvard professor but he should at least know the basic facts. He stated that GW was the only soldier with any fighting experience (not true), and when I corrected him about GW's role as a lieutenant colonel in the French-Indian War he said that wasn't true but, it is. I could tell he didn't like GW but his role as a historian is to preserve the facts.

Barry Zulauf: The house is in a wonderful state of preservation with almost all objects original to the long fellow family. I came expecting to hear about the poet and his works it is works and his family and a little about general Washington's use of the buildings as a headquarters. Far too much time was spent on the tour discussing the sexual preferences of family members to the exclusion of information describing the works of art the objects to be seen and historical events around the family. I would recommend making one of the so called deep dives tuned tuned to gay history and people who want to hear about that can do so. I didn't have my children with me but if I did I would have been embarrassed as they would have.
Peter Squires: Very friendly and helpful staff.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …More
Porter Charles: Loved the experience. The tour also included a stories of queer people who lived in the house and some conversations about racism. The guide said that they were allowed to share these stories now. The tour was great and staff was knowledgeableVisited on Weekend Wait time 10–30 min Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry Free …More

Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez: Small but carefully curated museum that provides you with a glance into key elements of Near Eastern cultures. The museum also makes great use of digital tools (e.g., an audio tour you can access with your phone, or an augmented reality app). There are a few stairs but an elevator ensures everyone will be able to visit. It is a good stand-alone visit, but, if you're short on time, I'd suggest complementing it with a visit to Harvard's natural history and Peabody's museums next door. Not crowded on Sunday. Friendly staff. There's also a place to leave your coat while visiting.
Nicole LaBarge: Fairly small museum. The first floor with recreation home was the most interesting part for me. I wish the other floors had more timelines and maps to better place the artifacts they were displaying.
Tonya Twyman: Very informative
Jorge Ceron: Tiene algunos escenarios gratuitos, otros pagos
