Jae H. Kim Taekwon-do Institute: what do users think?
Chester Leonard: Clean and airy
samuel belay: My son have been attended at this school since the past roughly 2 1/2 years and he has a green belt. I really like the school and instructor. He is well organized and really great teacher. My son enjoys attending this class everytime, and I am happy to send my son as well. I highly recommend you to join this school if you are really interested in learning a real Taekwondo with highly professional instructor.
Michael Morello: Over the past decade, I have regularly attended classes at this school. There are many positives about this school, but the one that stands out the most is the quality of the instructors. Besides being strongly committed, the instructors at J. H. Kim Cambridge, display a clear commitment to looking out for the best interest of all of their students. As a physical education teacher, I would highly recommend this school to both kids and adults.
Mason Woodruff: Showed up for meeting with instructor only to be met with chaotic scene. Younger instructor seemed only to care whether little kids showed him great respect, while making main instructor overwhelmed by crowd. Way too many students to expect quality instruction. Kids everywhere waiting to start, but last class overran by at least 15 minutes. I wouldn't subject my child to that mess.
Arlene Holtzman: Excellent teachers; fun, supportive community; classes spread throughout the day and evening making it easy to fit in classes even with a busy schedule.

CW Taekwondo at Boston: what do users think?
Sarthak Jena: A great place to learn taekwondo and improve fitness. Open and welcoming to anyone looking to learn martial arts from skilled instructors. A supportive community atmosphere as well.
johany montes: My children have been going to CW Taewando for many years now, although my youngest moved on to softball and gymnastics, my son continued all the way to receiving his Jr. Black belt. The instructor are so knowledgeable, reliable, patient, encouraging and just overall good people. Taewando has help my son work on perseverance, focus, and building his confidence. I am grateful for this sport and the instructors. Highly recommend to try and stick through Taewando even when your child tries to give up, because the end result is life changing, and rewarding for you and your child.
Casey Denham: My home away from home! A great place to train and an even better community!
Mike Harb: CW TaeKwonDo Boston is an amazing martial arts school. The community is extremely supportive and welcoming. It is a non-profit organization where the instructors and officers volunteer their time. They do it because they love it, which makes for a very unique atmosphere. It was founded by a group of University graduates who combine intelligence as well as athletic excellence with passion and care. The Youth program is second to none - helping kids learn discipline, respect, self-control and perseverance while gaining confidence and staying active.
George Bill: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueFantastic instructors both in person and over Zoom. Challenging but supportive
Paul Sayed: Who knew that kicking things is a great way to make friends!CW Taekwondo offers a non-intimidating and welcoming way to work out and learn martial arts! The workouts are really high level and the environment is really positive for all experience levels.
Yemil Serret: CW Taekwondo is an amazing place to learn Taekwondo! I felt welcomed by the instructors and students since day one. I appreciate the fact that everyone always encourages me to get better and this place truly feels like a family environment. Since I've been a member at CW Taekwondo I have felt my confidence increase, my technique always improving each class, and my physique developing. I always look forward to attending classes and I am glad that I found CW Taekwondo.
Kashif-ul Huda: Highly recommended for martial arts training for young kids. Miss Amy and Miss Kat are very gentle with kids and patient but also firm so kids learn a lot about discipline, confidence, and important life lessons. They have classes for people of all ages but I have not seen better teachers for kids.Easily accessible from redline Central Square T stop or a paid parking structure right across the street from CW Taekwondo.
Robin Stevens: I joined C.W. a little over four years ago. I was looking for an activity that would allow me to get some exercise, relieve stress, and meet some new people. I had also always wanted to try a martial art, and C.W. happened to be the closest place to where I lived at the time. I knew within the first week that I had found a very special place -- one that gave me everything I was looking for and much more.As many other reviewers have said, the quality of the instruction is world-class, the community spirit is inspiring, and the price is a steal. If you're thinking about joining but are worried because you think you're not athletic enough or not naturally flexible or too old -- know that C.W. really does welcome people of all ages and abilities! All the instructors ask is that you give everything your best effort and strive to improve every class.
Joy Sun: I found C.W. by happenstance. I moved to the Boston-area 6.5 years ago knowing no one and on a whim, decided to give martial arts a try. I went to C.W. because it was a seven-minute walk from my apartment -- although I also liked that it was a non-profit and volunteer-run. There, I not only found a new passion for Taekwondo (fostered by truly incredible, world-class athlete-instructors and classmates), but also a community of people who have become family.C.W. Taekwondo, tucked in the heart of Central Square, is a true hidden gem of a place. People walking down Green Street pass by its unassuming façade every day without thinking about what's inside. But inside, nearly every night of the week, there is an assemblage of people of all ages and backgrounds, putting all of their hearts into each workout. Classes are led by preeminent Taekwondoists, who coach and compete for top spots nationally and internationally. The students are warm, hard-working - they smile while they sweat together. They stay after class to get help on techniques from each other. There is clapping for each other, there are high-fives, there are after-workout congregations at the bar across the street. The culture of the place, focused on community, fitness, and excellence, is what makes this place special. I highly recommend C.W. Taekwondo. Even if you aren't looking for a new home-away-from-home, like I was 6.5 years ago, C.W. is the place to go if you're looking for any of these things: (a) a fun and effective way to work out and stay fit for really great prices; (b) stress relief through kicking in a safe space; (c) a new way to be social and meet wonderful people; and/or (d) the best Taekwondo experience in the Boston area.
Katarina Vulic: The community and caliber of TKD at C.W. is truly fantastic. The classes are an excellent mix of cardio and core strength/flexibility and members and instructors are all incredibly welcoming. I can't say enough about the instructors here, they are the best. I highly recommend C.W. to anyone interested in trying martial arts.
Ashley Wallace: C.W. Taekwondo is a truly unique place. I began in the adult taekwondo program with no previous experience, hoping to get a work-out in a non-gym setting. I've now stayed a member for over three years because of the excellent instruction, great friends, and welcoming community. The instructors are encouraging, while holding their expectations to a high standard. The instructors are able to cater their teaching styles to individual students' needs and abilities. As I progressed through the ranks, I was able to appreciate the level of excellence our teachers exhibited; most competing at the national and international levels.Workouts are fun and challenging, combining cardio, strength training, and curriculum/skills.What makes C.W. so special is the sense of community. For an individual sport, there is a strong sense of support and encouragement. C.W. is constantly holding social events, as well as community events in Cambridge and Boston. A great group of people, and a great taekwondo education!I highly recommend giving C.W. a try!
Kyle Rand: More than an awesome workout - the community here is amazing.
Saima Sidik: CW is by far the best martial arts school I've been to. It provides a rigorous but encouraging environment and a great social network!
Sanjit Mandal: This is a great place to train. I am a karate practitioner, and when I wanted to spend sometime working on improving my kicks, I came here. Hand down, this is the best Tae Kwon Do spot in Boston, also considering the cost.Kids, teens, and parents should make martial arts a part of their life, and it should begin here!
Ahaan Rungta: I recently moved to Cambridge and, as a Yellow Belt, I wanted to continue Tae Kwon Do. My Mom found CW Tae Kwon Do and I signed up in Adult Level. Instructor Chuang was extremely encouraging. When I started, the Instructors Lohren, Nam, Chan, Julie, and James have always made me think of Tae Kwon Do at a different level, pushing me to perfection! I tend to live in a more mental zone so Taekwondo at CW is what I need to get moving and feel energized. Thank you so much for accepting me in your fold.
Matt Towler: I attended CW Taekwondo for nearly a decade, finally attaining my first degree black belt while there. The support and attention I got while on that path kept me going while in the past I would've given up. You definitely find yourself hitting heights that you never thought you'd reach. All aspects of taekwondo are taught, with somewhat more emphasis on competition sparring (one of the founding instructors went on to compete in the Olympics in Athens!).
Ellen Crenshaw: After years of sitting on my butt, I decided in 2011 it was time for a change. I signed up for kickboxing with CW and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made! It's T-accessible, mere steps from Central Square station. Three times a week with three different instructors gives you three great workouts with varying focus on upper body, lower body, and technique. The instructors are friendly and encouraging, the vibe between the instructors and the students is familial. After class if I have questions about technique they are always happy to offer help. There's a community here unmatched by any gym I've been to. I've come a long way—I feel stronger and more energetic with every class—but there's still so much more to achieve and I'm thrilled to do it at CW.
Sarah Song: I've experienced both the Cardio Kickboxing and Tae kwon do classes, and I really enjoyed doing both types of workouts. The instructors know what they are doing and always push the students without overdoing it. The atmosphere is quite friendly also. If you're looking for a great workout and a friendly atmosphere, I recommend CW.
Ken H: I started attending C.W. around November 2011. I was painfully inflexible, had zero martial arts experience, and really only had middling cardio endurance going for me.Luckily, the teachers here are extremely patient with all students; they will push you to try harder, move faster, and kick higher, but never with a temper. Sparring is practiced but with a high emphasis on safety. If you put in the effort to keep going to class and work on your material, you will improve! I'm far more flexible now and the stints on a stationary bike that used to be my high-end cardio workout now don't even get me breathing hard. The school also has a good mix of both age groups and gender, so don't be intimidated to give it a shot. It's an absolute steal for the asking price and often runs promotions for beginners. See you there.
Omar Fernández: As a member of the MIT Sport Taekwondo Club I've had the honor of training under some of the instructors of CW Taekwondo, including Master Daniel Chuang and Kathy Chuang. The instructors are very passionate about taekwondo and make sure you learn every technique the right way. Also, it makes for a great learning experience since all the instructors are very patient. Begginers (like me) will have a great time learning, while more advanced members will definitely enjoy of a good workout and good guidance on how to improve their techniques.

REDLINE Fight Sports: what do users think?
Carmen Rondash: Excellent value for the prices, awesome options for different budgets.Great new equipment
Austen Keene: Came here as a complete beginner and was blown away by how friendly and knowledgeable all of the instructors were. The classes are a lot of fun and the place has a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Gregory Letellier: This is a great gym. A truly worthy investment for anyone looking to build confidence, get fit, and learn a range of martial arts. The instructors are so knowledgable and great at teaching to a variety of experience levels. Josh Bartholomew's Kickboxing Mechanics is the perfect class to integrate a beginner into the basics of striking. In every Mechanics class I've taken with Josh, he takes the time to circulate as you practice to give individualized feedback on your form. Additionally, the BJJ classes, both Gi and No-Gi, are excellent. JJ and Lucas both create a fun and informative atmosphere. Lucas will put you through a great warm up in his classes, with running and calisthenics to build your BJJ game. JJ always makes time for extensive chances to drill and apply lessons in live rolls. Finally, the folks working the desk are always welcoming inviting, and do a great job of helping you find the right class for you. I can't say enough great things about Redline and their contribution to a local martial arts community!
lina zhang: Tried one class and stayed here ever since. This is how good this gym is. Try it out yourself and you will know what I mean. The staff here are incredibly amazingly extraordinary people, they’re caring, friendly, and professional. Shout out to Josh, Brandy, Shane*2, and literally everyone who works here, thank you all for making me feel like home would recommend to anyone thinking of getting in shape/practice boxing.
David Lee: Staying in Cambridge for the week, I needed my workout fix.Redline is IT!Challenging workouts with tremendous variety. I went 5 days in a row and did something different everyday. The only thing that was the same was the sweat - after each class!Awesome gym with an awesome team behind it. Special thanks go out to Jack - front desk - who made it really easy for an out-of-town guy to fit right in and get working.
Yasmin S: Closed down without notice. I still have class passes I haven't used. Please refund! Anyone else has the same problem? What can the customers do to rectify this?
Ashraful Rahman: Awesome spot to work out whether you want to do it through boxing, kickboxing, crossfit oriented exercise or grappling! Caters to new beginners or veterans no matter if your goal is for fitness or if you want to fight. Very affordable due to their intro deal. Friendly and well knowledged staff and a clean gym.
Dr. Serge The Nutrition Scientist: One time I went there with a friend. It was surprisingly nice. The food was good and the service was very efficient
joanna shannon: Redline Fight Sports is quickly becoming my favorite gym! I joined with a groupon on a whim and I'm so glad I did. Every time I go I get an amazing workout, leaving in a ball of sweat. The instructors are friendly and welcoming but know when to get down to business and how to get you to work hard. I really like how the kickboxing classes are a mix of boxing with a little bit of cross-fit worked in. It's a great complement to my triathlon training!

Ginsberg Academy BJJ: what do users think?
Carlos Sessa: great place for bjj!
Sarah Wasinger: Wonderful place to practice jiu jitsu whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Very nice, highly skilled training partners and a great friendly environment! Instruction is always top notch and safety is a priority
James Dunne: SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE! I came from my first gym in Tucson and was nervous to try a new place. Ginsberg BJJ is AMAZING. Coach Dave is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely loves his students and his school. The other students were very welcoming and there is a good mix of total beginners and extremely skilled fighters. The space itself is beautiful and big and has a very authentic, no nonsense old school feel to it. Good vibes all around. Unfortunately I had to leave the gym for another move to the West Coast but I miss it already. I just came back from my first class trying out another local gym here and it was very good but it made me miss Ginsberg BJJ and realize what a special place it is. It motivated me to go write this review in appreciation. If you are local, call Coach Dave up and join, you will be happy you did!
Monta Wiley: Just recently I was in boston on vacation and had the opportunity to visit Ginsberg BJJ . After my recent experience, I can confirm that this gym does not deserve 5 Stars. In fact, IT DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS !! Everyone from the instructors to the students welcomed me, were very friendly, and gave me some awesome training while in town. Even let me borrow a gi, when I forgot mine haIf anyone is in the boston area and looking for a place to train, ginsberg jj is the place to be !!thank you everyone for the great time.
Matthew Bemis: Ginsberg Academy is an incredibly positive learning environment. Coach Dave prioritizes a welcoming and respectful culture and it shows with all the members of the gym. Beyond this, there's a lot of super talented athletes that you can learn from and train with. Coach Dave is one of the nicest people I've ever interacted with.
Ethan Gilbert: Amazing place to train. World class coaches and amazing training partners. Fun atmosphere, emphasis on safety and practicality, and great camaraderie. Would recommend to anyone.
kenny gatlin: Always a great time when visiting. Professor Dave is very knowledgeable and I never leave without getting taught something new or getting help on tightening up some techniques.
Zhenhuan Sun: Safe and friendly environment. The coach is very knowledgeable.
Katie Perez: This Academy is a true gem; Professor Dave is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable as well as kind and deeply caring towards his students. The instruction is top-notch and the energy is positive and focused; the rolls are fun, competitive and safe. There aren't really words for how great the Ginsberg Academy is but if I could give 10/5 stars I would
Rachel Beauchamp: Professor Dave has helped me improve my skill set each time I’ve visited his academy. He is extremely knowledgeable, checks in on your comfort and safety continuously throughout training and his gym is kept very clean.
Jaimerson Aguirre: Great experience great vibe from everyone especially Professor Dave, helped me work on my weaknesses and what to work on etc OSS!!
Chris Keller: I recently visited Ginsberg academy for a weekend of BJJ training, and it was an amazing experience. Professor Dave and his students were all so welcoming and willing to share their knowledge. It was a true privilege to work with such an incredible group of martial artists, and I’m eagerly looking forward to another chance to visit.
Tolik Zinovyev: Awesome coach and great clean gym! Training there is always a pleasure.
Brian Cutts: Got to visit Ginsberg's Academy this February for American Grappling Federation. I got the chance to stop in and personally be welcomed by the owner Dave. Dave has an impressive resume and represents some of the best BJJ here in Boston, be sure to check his gym out.
Vsevolod Tsodokov: This is an amazing place to come and learn jiu jitsu, train and to take your game to the next level. Dave, the head coach, is a bottomless well of knowledge, and an amazing trainer. All people I met there, without exceptions, are humble, friendly, and a pleasure to train with.Safety as also very high on everyone’s agenda there.Highly recommend to train there for all levels- from novices to professional atgeletes/bjj practitioners.
Charlie Liu: Their "Peaceful Dragons" program is the best kids martial arts class I've seen ever: I checked out first class with my 7 yr old last sunday and we'll be back: super fun and managed to teach BJJ basics in a very fun way, also very active and positive. David (besides being super friendly in general and expert at BJJ etc) is fantastic with engaging young kids at their level. Class was exercise packed for the kids and very well thought out to introduce/ sneak in lots of real skills (not just random games or useless things that look good) in an almost free play context--almost a "Montessori" approach to martial arts.
Isaac Godfried: I have been training at Ginsberg Academy off and on for more than 5 years. In the past two and a half years in particular it has become the place where I spend perhaps the greatest amount of my free time. While the quality of BJJ has always been top notch, I've also had the pleasure to see an increase in the number and types of classes. The academy now has BJJ classes 7 days per week and both Wrestling and Muay Thai classes. I frequently look forward to spending long nights at the academy where I get there around 6 for Muay Thai and stay late into the night rolling and chatting with teammates. However, even though the number of classes has increased the quality of instruction has not deteriorated. Unlike some gyms where purple belts teach many classes Professor Ginsberg still teaches the vast majority of BJJ classes (and the ones he doesn't teach are taught by other black or brown belts). The academy also takes safety and hygiene very seriously particularly with respect to COVID-19.
Ryan Miller: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismThe atmosphere at Ginsberg Academy is fantastic. Excellent instruction paired with friendly and kind people has made for an awesome transition from my old gym.
Alexander Rush: Positive:QualityI've trained at 8 academies in two cities and this one is by far the safest, thanks to Professor Ginsberg's oversight. If you want to get good at Jiu Jitsu, you don't want to get injured. Also, I've learned the most/fastest here.
James Larisch: I've been training here for ~3 years now. The staff (especially Dave Ginsberg) is fantastic, the environment is safe, clean, friendly, humble, and fun, and the jiu jitsu is top-notch. Honestly it's one of the best parts about living here. Great for both competitors and people looking for a workout.
Michael Wing: I've spent the last few months training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Ginsberg Academy and my experience has been nothing short of amazing.Professor Dave is a very skilled and friendly instructor that does his best to ensure students are training in a safe but engaging way. As a newer student, I have been extremely impressed with Dave's ability to foster a great learning and growth environment, where more senior students provide mentorship to newer students and developing students are encouraged to take on mentorship roles as they grow. The academy does its best to accommodate a wide range of schedules and learning styles. I feel like students are almost always training for hours after the formal class sessions, which is crucial for people who work pretty late, and instructors are always communicating the important details for techniques they're teaching so students are clear on why you perform a move a certain way, and not just how.I unfortunately had to move recently, but my time at Ginsberg Academy has me hooked on BJJ (I trained there 3-5 times/week and for sure plan to continue) and would 100% recommend that anyone looking to train BJJ/Judo/Wrestling/Muay Thai in the Boston area to go check it out!

Aikido Tekkojuku Of Boston: what do users think?
CleanWater: Sensei is such a warm and welcoming human being. Everyone should give Aikido a try.
Casey G.: Forbidding people from practicing unless vaxxed is discriminatory. Sadly, like some other groups, this one has fallen under media brainwashing, dubiously choosing to deny practitioners medical freedom under the guise of safety. Their lack of consideration, factual understanding, and common sense is disappointing to say the least.
Christopher: An excellent Aikido Dojo with a friendly community. Instructors take the time to help individuals of all skill levels and make sure the movement is understood. Beginners are always welcome. I always reccomend watching a few classes, if you are thinking about it, they can help put your reservations at ease. A great place to practice.
Phil Chodrow: Tekko is a warm, friendly, and inspiring place to learn Aikido from some of the Boston area's foremost teachers. The community is fantastic, the space is welcoming, and the practice is vigorous! Absolutely recommended for anyone interested in the martial arts.
Priscilla Chew: This dojo is a welcoming space for those wanting a supportive, noncompetitive environment to train in aikido. I joined 5 years ago and love the physical and mental challenges.
G Neves: Non-profit, under the direction of Yasumasa Itoh, 6th Dan, former student of Kanai-Sensei, 8th Dan, who was direct student of O-Sensei.The environment is very friendly, and all students keep a positive attitude towards improving themselves and the quality of their Aikido.Easy parking and easy access.
Nahur Fonseca: This is a friendly and conducive dojo to learn Aikido. The level of the students is very varied, so you can learn with each other a lot.The rates fit any pocket and any schedule.Overall, very good, I would recommend to everyone.

Steve Nugent's Karate Institute: what do users think?
njish sign: I was looking for a martial arts school for my 5 year old. I found Steve Nugent's Karate Institute online and it seemed an interesting approach, at least from their description there. I tried to sign for a class in Cambridge, but I could not do it online since they had not updated their website to include Cambridge. I called and left a message. I received a call two days later from Steve who said that I could show up at their Cambridge location at 1640 Cambridge St on Sat @ 9.30, and take a look at the class and If we liked it I could register. I showed up there, but I was not allowed to enter in the building because Steve needed to call them first and let them know about any new students or visitors. I called Steve and left a message again explaining the situation. He never called back. I would call this at least irresponsible behavior, especially if you are the owner of a business.
