NJ H: Very pleased! After 6pm on Monday, we had a tire blowout. Needed a tow. They came promptly, and we agreed to be towed to their shop, which was still open. We needed specialty tires for our EV. Not available that evening, so we left the car. Following day (Tues.), they informed us it would take an extra day (until Wed.) to get our desired tires. But, at 7:30pm Tuesday, we got a call that the car was ready! It always feels good to get the car back a full day sooner than promised. Michele Dow: As a woman, I always feel nervous about taking my car in for repairs, but I have found an auto repair shop that gave me confidence I was getting exactly what was needed and for a very fair price. I had gone to the Infiniti dealer, and they said my 2013 Infiniti needed $4500 in repairs. Abe’s reviewed the quote and showed me why most of the items were unnecessary and that the rest could be done in stages. Instead of $4500, I paid Abe’s $450 to weld my exhaust system. Anna Krohn: I needed to have my car towed due to the front break calipers seizing up while driving on a Sunday evening. I chose Abe's from the list of AAA shops and I'm satisfied with my choice. I heard back from Naeem first thing on Monday morning, they already had my car up on the lift and confirmed for me it was indeed the calipers on the front that were the issue. There were other things that they spotted and recommended taking care of. Naeem explained everything, sent me photos of what he was seeing and was very communicative all day as the repairs were happening. I could have picked the car up the same day, but had to wait until Tuesday. Everyone I met in the shop when picking up was super friendly to top off the experience.The car felt good driving home so I'm happy. Needing the repairs was annoying and an unexpected expense but Naeem and the rest of the team did what they could for me. Shayne Pazyra: These guys are awesome! I got a flat tire at work on Saturday night after a 8 hour work day on the coldest day in Boston in years. Every single tire place was closed after 4pm-6pm.Triple A didn’t arrive until 4 hours later (6:30) and Abe’s came to the rescue. I called and they were so kind to me on the phone and said they could take care of me as long as I’m there before 8pm.I was welcomed by most of the staff, assured, and taken care of in about a half hour. Brianna Bettinelli: This is my second time going to Ted at Foreign Auto Center and both of my experiences have been fantastic. Once for a coolant leak and another time for new brakes on my Audi A3. Ted is so very kind, trustworthy, communicative, punctual and he definitely knows his stuff. He is very honest and never tries to upsell nor does he try to force additional services down your throat. Pricing is incredibly reasonable and they always get the job done well within the time frame that he tells you. One thing I really appreciate about Ted is that he's always willing to explain what the issue was, how it was fixed, and even goes out of his way to show me the parts he's fixed/replaced to so I can have a visual and learn a bit more about my car. Ingo M: I have used Foreign Auto Center several times over the past 3 years, initially for a pre-purchase car inspection and since then whenever I had issues with the car. Prices are low, repairs are performed fast, well and everyone is friendly. I had asked to park my car a few days on their premises until I had received my license plates after the purchase (which was at the time no problem). If you want be sure to receive great service at low prices from a reliable team, you have found your place. The oldest review on google for Foreign Auto Center is 8 years old, and until today almost exclusively 5 start reviews, no 1 or 2 star reviews. That is quite impressive.

I didn’t know the exact diagnosis of my A/C problem and they could have easily unsold or said a more extensive repair was needed. Andrew Nilson: Nate and his team have taken care of my cars for the last 8 years. Nate earned my trust on day one when I brought in my car and he opt in the car with me. Heard the sounds that was being made and immediately knew what was going on. He got under the car pulled something out that was loose and didn't need to be there and charging me $25. Since then I have definitely had to pay more money with more expensive repairs, but he is consistently repaired only what needed to be repaired and done it professionally. He will always recommend things when they are needed, but I have always found his pricing to be fair and his personability to be refreshing. He cares for his clients.

Two of the items on the inspection list were not providing adequate data, and whereas others might have taken the opportunity to charge me more, Nate correctly diagnosed that I had just had work done on the car and so needed to drive it for 50-75 more miles and return for a (free) re-inspection, which I did and it worked. I then used Nate to put on our winter tires. Owen Conneely: Vahe's garage was excellent! Another mechanic told us it was the fuel accelerator sensor and that it would cost around $500 or so to fix but he found that it was just that the electronic cable from the sensors to the fuel housing was not fully connected. He could have been dishonest and told us the same thing and charged us more for work that wasn't even necessary, but he didn't. He connected the cable properly, made some other adjustments and charged us a fair fee for the work. On top of that he reminded my stepson about the importance of safe driving which I thought was great. I will be going back there for future maintenance and repairs.

Douglas Beach: We went to GNG in Cambridge with our 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman because we are in the neighbourhood, the local Mini dealer nearby sucks in my opinion, and I had a warm recall of "Car Talk". One of the founders met us and got us organized with Casey. Since that time they've done a few repairs and are always diligent, efficient, affordable, honest about issues and time, etc. I go in and say, "here's what's going on, when do you think, here are the keys, see you." They give the appropriate responses, and I'm on my way. On the other hand, I've seen interactions where the car-owner wanted to talk more about "everything". They listen and sort all of that out, too. They are always busy as far as I've seen, they've a staff of family people, and the seem to really care about what they do. Ken Ho: I've taken several of my cars here over a decade or two. They have always been fabulous, never suggesting/pushing unnecessary fixes. I had a bad odor coming out of the air conditioning system that the dealership could not adequately diagnose, I was concerned that I would have to get rid of the car (an older car which I love). Ryan and the team found that I had some sort of refrigerant(?) that was the source of the odor, fixed it, and I was able to keep the car, which I am still happily driving.More recently, Casey evaluated my exhaust system which the same dealership made sound like it as about to explode (or that it might do so at state inspection testing time). Casey said it's actually a small leak, and suggested that it's probably not worth fixing until absolutely necessary given the normal deterioration of such systems in this New England environment. Kelly P: While this is only my second maintenance experience with Good News Garage, each visit reinforces how honest, hardworking and educational these guys are. They hold my hand through each step as I have not owned a car in decades! They strive for the highest quality and err on the side of conservative so you don't blow out your budget. I had an emergency a few weeks before my scheduled maintenance and had to have a gas station garage do some work and I called Casey panicked.He explained why it waa imperative to take care of the issue immediately and even spoke with the mechanic doing the work. That's above and beyond! Ryan is equally helpful as he walked me through some brake issues and other work that can be scheduled over time. Good New Garage is tops in my opinion! I didn't know one was still in okay shape. And that's what Casey told me and that he didn't see a need to replace it ( I know many other garages that would take advantage of the situation and sell me a tire I didn't really need.) That really impressed me.I was also there when he patiently, clearly and carefully explained the options involved with servicing my friend's mini Cooper. I have full confidence that he will always tell the complete truth about all car situations. For example, I didn't know what to do about another one of the issues my car was having. I took my vehicle in for a strange noise coming from the wheels, which they found the cause of but when I picked it up I discovered that it was still coming from a few of the wheels. They took the car back in to resolve the rest of the issue and had it fixed by the end of the day. The part that really won me over is that they didn't charge me for any of the extra labor which I feel pretty confident in assuming that any other garage would have. Jim Knizer: 5th time stopping in - again No problems, minimal wait, was able to find parking not in the bike lane and I was next in line for inspection. You either watch the fish (huge fishtank in the waiting room) or the mechanics fixing your car through the big glass windows. There's a TV which had some game show on when I stopped in. I was helped by Nelson and he gave me a quote within 15 min after calling parts dealers to get me the best price. He was able to take my car a couple days later after painting the part and got everything fixed in about 20 min. The whole process only took about 4 business days, and likely would’ve been done faster if I had made up my mind and scheduled the repair quicker. Zhenhua Zhang: I used this location twice for oil changes. The first time I took my husband's CRV which was only a few years old at the time and they told me the brakes were failing and I had to get them changed out because it was a safety concern. I went ahead and had them do the work. I went back a few weeks later in my car for an oil change (I drive by this location every day so it was convenient) and I got the exact same message. My rear brakes were failing and were a safety hazard. I better get them replaced or I was going to get into an accident. So given I had heard the exact same thing now twice for two vehicles that I had just come in for routine oil change I declined to do the work. My car has been absolutely fine and passed inspection 3 years each time since I was told my brakes would fail imminently. My husband's crv brakes on the other hand that I spent much money on to fix at this shop have utterly failed in just a few years. The terrible scraping noises it made did not give us confidence they worked nor that the car will pass inspection that is due. We just had them switched out at another shop. Despite driving by this store almost daily I will never be using their services for anything again. I have seen other posts now warning about the brakes here. Pete Shinn: TLDR: Never, ever use this business. They apparently enjoy preying on young women there.The details: I encouraged my niece to use this business because of its positive Google reviews. What a mistake. She went for a vehicle inspection and was told by Dennis Cassidy she couldn’t legally drive the car without getting a front break job, complete with new rotors and calipers— calipers which are available at any auto parts store for $75 or less, and for which she was charged nearly $500 each, before labor! That might be OK, except when she left after paying a grossly inflated price for the coerced break job, Dennis warned her to bring it right back if the vehicle made any funny noises. When it predictably did start making grinding and screeching noises every time she touched the brakes within hours after paying and leaving, my niece, as instructed, brought it back right away. Although Dennis had the car for two full days after my niece returned it, they never looked at it, and eventually my niece had to go demand her vehicle back from them, unrepaired. This is a business that preys on the unwary. They will definitely up charge you well beyond what’s reasonable, and you may or may not get your car fixed in the end, even after paying an inflated price.Service:Vehicle safety inspection
