Rustored Salvage: I used Nick’s moving company to move and store my apartment contents last spring. Nick and his team provided a quick estimate for their services and the price was significantly less than his competitors. They showed up on the day of the move and packed and loaded my apartment in just a few hours. They handled everything with care and stored them at his storage facility. The facility was convenient and I could access my items with a call. I would recommend Nicks moving. Great overall experience!

Daniel Knies: My fiancé and I had a terrible moving experience on August 29, 2020. I thought I'd check recent reviews to see if the company had improved at all, but found that many reviews echoed our experience (slow or no responses from management, severely delayed start times, and multiple unexpected charges).Our move started nearly 6 hours late with one fewer movers than we were quoted. We were then told that the front steps of the building constituted another flight of stairs, and we'd normally be charged for that but because they started so late, would not add the fee. We were then told that our one bedroom, third-floor apartment had a "staggering" number of boxes, despite having declared the floor and number of rooms in the estimate and having already taken more fragile items to the new apartment ourselves. Because the move started so late (at 7:30pm), the crew took a break for dinner but then at 10:30pm determined it was not feasible to complete the move until the following morning with a different crew (luckily we had family to stay because the crew had already packed the bed in the truck, not sure what the company's plan was if we didn't have that option). The bill of lading noted a lesser deposit than we had actually made, which would have led us to being overcharged if I didn't catch it before signing. We also noticed the deposit was charged first when we accepted the quote (nearly a month before the move) and secondly when the move started. The payment system was blamed for the duplicated charge, but the receipt indicated that it was entered twice by the moving company. I luckily was refunded the amount when I disputed the second charge through my credit card company. Overall, the total cost of the move was 70% more than the quoted amount. Lesson learned to not go with the cheapest when it comes to moving.The crew was friendly and apologized profusely about the poor management that led to this unfortunate situation, which is about the only positive thing I can say about our experience.

Laura Ricciardone: If I could give Nick's Moving Company 0 stars, I would. My experience with them was a complete nightmare. I was told that the movers would arrive at noon on September 1. Hours went by, with no update from Nick's. I would call every few hours for an update, and I was told that the movers were "on their way". The movers did not actually show up until 1AM on September 2nd!! Not only did I have to go through moving my belongings at 1AM (which is completely unprofessional), they did not even show up on the correct date, as they technically arrived on September 2. No apology was given, and I was not offered any sort of price discount.Things got much worse -- the movers lost a key piece of my bed, so they weren't able to put my bed together that night at 1AM. I was told they would arrive the next morning to fix my bed for me, which was already incredibly frustrating. They didn't actually arrive until 11PM the next night. I would call over and over again, and the owner would say that the movers were on their way, when they clearly were not. Again, no apology and no price discount. Nick actually double charged us, and never issued us a refund for the double charge, despite us calling multiple times.My biggest regret was not taking the numerous negative reviews of this company into account. My experience with them was an unprofessional nightmare.

Bryce Beddard: Pros:- Incredibly friendly movers.- Very easy to book.Cons:- Movers were supposed to arrive between 10 and 11AM. At 11:20, I called and was told 15-20 minutes. At 12:20, I called and was told "momentarily". Around 1:15, the movers actually showed up and asked if I had just booked the move today as they just found out about it. I booked two weeks early. I assume that the original crew couldn't make it, but none of this was communicated and no apology was given. This set the rest of our day into a rush as we expected to be done earlier.- Poorly packed truck according to our end destination movers.- One page contract that was barely legible.

Nick’s Moving Company took care of my move and storage very professionally. Benjamin King: Nick’s Moving moved me from Somerville to Eastham this summer. The movers were courteous and efficient and took very good care of my stuff. However, they charged my credit card twice for my deposit -- I called multiple times over the course of several weeks to get the second charge reversed (and was assured every time that they had taken care of it), but ultimately I had to go through my credit card company to get my money back. On moving day, the movers were several hours later than I'd been told to expect them. Also, there were only two movers for my job -- the movers were both really nice and hardworking, but I had a full studio apartment's worth of stuff and a couple pieces of heavy furniture, so the move ended up taking a long time. (I've hired other companies in the past that sent 3 people for a job of this size -- though in fairness, I hired Nick's for an Aug 1 move, so maybe they just were spread thin since it's a busy moving day). Overall, my stuff got from point A to point B safely, but there were some hiccups along the way that could've gone more smoothly!

IF the movers showed up and were turned away, they should have called us. We called Nick AT LEAST three times the day of our move. During a late afternoon call with Nick and the driver, I asked them to send a screen shot to prove they had called us, and I was ignored. THE MOST DISAPPOINTING AND MOST AMAZING PART OF OUR EXPERIENCE WITH NICK'S MOVING IS NICK OFFERED (two separate times) TO COMPENSATE US IF WE TOOK DOWN OUR BAD REVIEW!

Tiffany Novich: I had the owner quote a job for one my clients moving a bike locker in a crate from the shipping terminal to my client's house that was 12 miles apart. I was quoted for 4 guys assisting with this crate that weighed 200lbs over a small fence into his yard and disposing of the crate. This was all included in the rate. They ran my credit card for what I thought was $975 but then was advise by my CFO a month later that the card was charged for $1275. When I notified the owner, Nick he didn't have much of a response and said, well that must not have been communicated. This is after I charged my customer for the shipment and the rate that was provided to me. The owner then stated that the rate was increased because of the disposal fee, but he had included that in his initial quote. This is not professional.

On moving day, two gentlemen arrived with the truck within the timeframe specified more or less, Nick called me in the morning with a status update which I greatly appreciated. The two men had everything down and loaded up within an hour, they drove straight away to my new apartment and got there at the same time I did. Similarly, they had everything unloaded and upstairs in my new apartment within an hour. Both individuals ('Hess' & 'Lucky') were enthusiastic about their work, friendly, and professional. They had me sign the paperwork which reflected the quote Nick gave/charged, no hidden fees or additions, all was transparent. I tipped them well and think they deserved more. Peggy Sah: The movers were fast and efficient. My couch wouldn't fit in the narrow stairwell at my new apartment so the guys lifted it through a window for an additional fee and no hassle for me. They did end up breaking one of my couch legs when they were trying to get it to the stairs, which I'm not too broken up about given the circumstances, but they also neglected to inform me of this after it happened and instead tried to hide it. I find that rather unprofessional.The other thing you need to be careful about is that Nick apparently has a history of double charging the deposit. I thought it was just a mistake but reviews on Yelp mention that this is a repeated problem. I brought it up to him and this was taken care of, but if you go Nick's Moving you'll want to watch the charges.

My mom scheduled an in-home estimate that was free, and a few days later movers from Shepherd International Moving were at my house. I expected to pay a lot of money because I didn't want to do anything regarding the moving process. But the price turned out to be reasonable and affordable, and they didn't have any hidden fees. I still can't believe how quickly the movers packed everything!The best part was that they brought all the moving supplies and the moving boxes, too. I watched them carefully wrap and pack every item in my house. Besides the regular packing, I also chose the custom crating service for the fragile items in my house. I have this beautiful chandelier that is extremely delicate. When I told the moving crew about it, they suggested custom crating. It really was a good choice because it was shipped safely to my new address, along with everything else. I am really satisfied with Shepherd moving and recommend it to everyone!

They took great care of everything I shipped to Vancouver. Rates were very fair for the sort service you get from them in return. Even though the move seemed very complicated (because of the distance and getting past customs) there were no complications at all. They had the experience and know how to make it smooth. Roz Stanley: I can't say enough great things about Shepherd International Movers! I was helping my parents move to Ireland so we needed a company that worked internationally. My parents had enough worries on their plate so I wanted to take care of finding a moving company for them. First, the employees at Shepherd immediately calmed my worry of moving since my parents were moving internationally. I was nervous their keepsakes and belongings might get lost or broken, but with their timely communication and sincere understanding, I was assured they would take care of their stuff. They were great with timely replies to my questions. On the day of the move, they were on time, which if you've EVER moved before, time is of the essence! They took care of my parents' stuff and treated everything with care. I watched them load some of the stuff, and I was amazed how in tune they were with what they were doing. Their great attitudes made moving day easier and a better experience. When I got to Ireland with my parents, I was anxious to check their stuff and move them in to their new place. I knew that the moving process would be difficult, time-consuming and stressful and that is why I started browsing for moving companies to help me handle my international relocation. Once I came across Shepherd International Movers, I knew that I found the right international movers for me.First, I gave them a call and I was amazed by how their staff handles their potential clients. Their representative explained everything in detail. I was even offered a free moving cost estimate by Skype, which really helped because I was on a tight budget.When the moving day came, they handled everything. I had a lot of things to pack and they packed everything extremely well. They also provided wooden crates for my paintings, which I did not know existed I chose to have my belongings shipped by their ocean freight shipping option and I was able to track my belongings during the shipping process, which is pretty amazing. All of my things arrived in time and everything was safe and sound and nothing was damaged, not even a little. I am very thankful for the guys at Shepherd. Their staff was extremely kind and all of them are trained professionals. I am also happy to say that their services are reasonably priced, and it is my opinion that their services worth every cent. Should I need to move overseas again, I will definitely hire Shepherd International Movers.

Kimball Joseallen: Working with Sunset was like solving a very difficult puzzle. I was having a hard to choosing which business to trust for our move to Manchester. All the quotes we got seemed ok but many of the companies we looked at had a very up and down history handling out of country moves. We couldn't find that much dirt on Shepherd and they so nice over the phone we felt most comfortable with them after reading through all the terms. Our move ended up going even better than originally planned. We found out a few weeks after our stuff was on route that everything would arrive 4 days earlier than expected. Loved our Europe movers. Great group of hardworking guys.

Caleb Miller: I had a wonderful experience with Precision Moving Company. The guys I worked with, Michael, Gadi, and a third person whose name I didn't get, were extremely professional and fast. They moved my items quickly and safely, even though they had to deal with difficult parking and stairs at both places. Every part of the service that they provided was amazing, and I highly recommend them for any of your moves.I have one small complaint. Their pricing structure requires a three hour minimum, so if you have a very small move you may end up being charged for time you didn't actually need. If you have a medium or large sized move, this will be largely irrelevant. Also they make this very clear before you agree to hire them, so I can't be too upset about it.

Alicia Hong: It was expensive. We just moved at the end of January from two smaller apartment (150sqft and 400sqft, 8 min drive away) into one bigger apartment (800 sqft), it cost us $1012 in total and 6.75 hours. The movers are wearing mask, and are friendly to us. However, one of them almost got into a fight with the leasing office at the original building because of the trucking parking improperly. It wasn't clear the mattresses cost additional money. We picked this company because it's in Central Square Cambridge right where we're moving from, but the truck took 45 min to show up and the cost was on us. The boxes are handled well and they helped us taking apart furnitures and putting them back together. We just both didn't think it was worth the price, and will consider alternative business for our next move.

Hayoon Cheon: The three movers took four and a half hours to load my luggage onto their truck. They asked for a 20-minute break except for lunch. It took them another three and a half hours to put down the luggage. And they put things down everywhere regardless of what I marked. They did not reassemble the disassembled bed. They did not wrap the furniture safely in a blanket. They showed kindness by putting more tape on the already packed box and breaking down the legs of the $10 Ikea table. They took too much time to move a child's chair and a shoebox one by one. That was the factor that made me pay more. They didn't even have the right tools. The furniture had a big scratch and the walls were damaged. I paid only $500 for the last move of the same size. I had to pay over 1,000 dollars this time.Service:Local moving
