CHA Primary Care, Cambridge Hospital: what do users think?
Hello!: Their in house psychiatrist due to inexperience or lack of caring prescribed an SSRI to someone with autism, without considering their life situation, the SSRI had an anger/irritability side effect which made their autism worse and lead to them to get evicted and lose their job, which never happened for 15 years before until this psych pushed the person toward this med. Personally, the psychiatrist had the attitude of not caring, just opened the textbook and said 'you can take this or not, it is up to you.' I personally could have opened a textbook and chosen a 'first line' med myself too, the point of going to a psychiatrist is to get someone with wisdom who will do a medical and social history on you first, not just make it up to you to take something generic or not. Perhaps they don't pay a lot and just hire inept psychiatrists, I don't know. The NP psychiatrist I saw before had a better attitude of 'she won't push meds' and was in tune to my hesitance of taking SSRIs. This CHA psychiatrist just kind of manipulated me and didn't seem to care. Honestly, going there was a nice reception, but more harmful then useful. Same with their Nutritionist. It felt dealing with a medical student and not an experienced provider, which it is possible they may be hiring straight out of college with no experience. Their front desk and actual PCP doctors may be good though. My theory is that second rate students who can't get jobs at Partners get jobs at CHA because they pay less - just my theory.
Renan Miranda: Always very well treated, thank you every single one that works there.
Larry M: Very compassionate care is delivered here. It's so much calmer than the hospitals across the river in Boston.
D: Recently found out that most doctors associated with CHA didn’t do too well earning their degree, maintaining a D average. I personally have now had 4 different PCP’s. On going issues for last 5 or 6 years, still NOT addressed
Abdessamad Ait Rami: Great experience Great professional people
Jackie Barnes: I LOVE my PCP here, Dr. Philips, she is excellent and honest. However, scheduling is a NIGHTMARE, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. I have been trying to schedule a routine pap smear since January. Generally I always miss their wacky and useless 'scheduling window' when the next months schedule gets released and isn't filled yet. This time when I called they said I had to schedule this with women's health, when I talked to women's health they said they are not doing routine pap smears right now and PCPs are doing them. Why didn't the other office know that? Why is scheduling a nightmare that is my problem?Really terrible service but genuinely really great doctors. Came here when I broke some bones in my hand, they wanted to put pins in there with tiny bones which made me really nervous and they considered an alternative option for me that worked really well. The doctors really consider the patients' needs and feelings in a situation, which is NOT the case in most places. Wish they could fix their scheduling issues.
Thomas Davis: Spent an hour on hold. Scheduled a "telehealth visit" a month out. They never called. I called them asking what gives and they said they'd tried to reach me to reschedule (they hadn't). They offered me a new telehealth appointment, again a month out.bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad
Maxwell Hogue: Pretty standard medical phone service experience - I got transferred to their find and Doctor line and thought it worked fine! They got my promptly registered with a new doc. Thanks!
Vladimir Presnyak: Spent an hour on hold just to get a voice mail box during business hours through their "find a doctor" system, which I am told I MUST use if I am a new patient.Don't bother, find someone else to take your money.
RM Smith: they take forever to answer the phone !!!

MIT Medical Urgent Care Service: what do users think?
Ari W.: Misleading name “care for the community”. Unless you’re MIT affiliated expect to get turned away.
Ted Hu: The urgent care here is excellent. The doctors and nurses are fantastic and have followed up with me daily to check on how I'm doing. If you have access to it, it is a godsend.
Lennart Bock: Very friendly and skilled nurses. Very friendly registration. Fully recommended if you are MIT affiliated.

CHA East Cambridge Care Center: what do users think?
Renan Miranda: Always very well taken care of my self, very good staff, nurses, doctors, every one treats you very good,My primary Doctor Cassie F. Is always awesome, she treats me very well, she is very worried with everything that is possible going on, last time she went above and beyond to help me with problems,So Thank you Doc, and every single one that works here and at the CHA.
Jack D.: The care was fine. Their billing customer service is awful. They will not ask if they don't have your insurance info and bill you an inflated price for your care.
Michael Feigenson: We had a wonderful visit as always!
Johnson Lin: Sandra is the best nurse, and the front desk staffs are helpful. The CHA at assembly row closed accidentally, and we visited CHA at East Cambridge for assistance. They helped us out efficiently and patiently informed further solutions for us.
Anna Friedrich: Were castigated severely by the front desk lady for being late. After abusing us, the lady spoke in a simpering tone to a nurse on the inner phone in front of us, the patients: an ailing fatigued mother who had dragged two toddlers through terrible heat.
Charlotte Xia: Charge absurd facility fees for a televisit.
Paulo Alvarenga: Tivemos excelente experiência sob os cuidados deles
Marcos araujo: Se frank.. no good do dr.
VB S: Not professionals at all.very rude people ,Stay away from this place if you can. They treated me awful a few times.
Christopher Daley: The staff are wonderful and the building is brand new.
Sophia Wells: My medical appointment visits are always 😊 helpful according to my schedule with excellent 👌 medical doctor and nurses
juggawest: Mostly empty
Joanne Musto Pacheco: Christina was great, explaining things to me about my health, Very helpful!
Izamara Damazio: I’m being a patient since 2002 and love the environment, doctors and staff
Dawn McCormack: Amy is the best
iSantoS: Good service Safe environment
Rosie De Assis: I like the steps they are taking in keeping everyone safe in this covid era.
Vicky Tran: I was a new client to CHA Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge @163 Gore St #2 last year and visited them once and never come back again. This is the worst location and I'll not recommended to anyone of my friends. I wish I could give a zero star to this place.1. The customer service is the worst, they never pickup their phone and this literally every time I called them, I waited for more than 10+mins.2. I went for a physical checkup at this location, all the doctor did was asked me a FEW QUESTIONS and sent me home. Later they sent me a bill for $140 (which I already paid them $82 out of my pocket, which I shouldn't do it). I've tried to resolve the issue with them multiple times but it useless, and also have mentioned this MULTIPLE TIMES during and before my visited that if something they'll charge me out of my insurance service they should have let me know.3. I had another Pap smear appointment with this location, they called to cancel my appointment a NIGHT before my visit which I already requested to take a day off from work for my visit.4. The technology they use are outdated.5. The HR is a mess, all they can do or can say is "there is nothing I can do about it". I wonder what they're hiring for?6. Overall, this location is trying to get you visit them as much as possible and does some extra things or trying to overcharge your insurance for it. And what happens is that if your insurance does not cover. They will just continuously send you the bills or send your account to the Debt collection.WARNING, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!
Marcia Goncalves: Been going there and seeing the same doctor for 22 years.
Annabelle Costa: This is the 3rd CHA location I've seen a PCP at. Hate the Revere office and Everett office is ok but they are often running late. When my PCP left CHA altogether I was on the hunt for a new one and found a doctor i liked out of the E. Cambridge office. Nicest facility I've been to at CHA. The staff are exceptional. My first appointment there everyone I crossed paths with welcomed me to the office. I really love my new PCP, Dr. Batlamarthy (spelling might be off). Happy I made the switch
Mirem Rivera: Awesome service going in all the way to coming out. Dr and nurse are the best! 💯

CHA Windsor Street Care Center: what do users think?
Eriana Rojas: This place is not good at all. They take forever to get you an appointment yet once you get one. You either have to wait 45 min to be seen by a provider or if because of the conditions in Cambridge you are late by a few minutes due to traffic they cancel your appointment without consideration of the time you take to go over there. I was in constant communication with Michelle R. Blitzman office to let them know I was half a mile away and because one of the streets in Cambridge was closed I was unable to get there exactly by 11 and was 20 minutes late. My appointment was canceled and they refused to help me even though I gave them 3 separate calls to let them know the situation and that I was approaching. Mind you that I drove 50 minutes to make it there . This place doesn’t care about the patient at all and their service it’s really poor. I tried to get a different provider and they couldn’t help neither. I won’t recommend making an appointment with Michelle R. Blitzman as the people I spoke to in her office were rude and unhelpful.
Brianna Davis: My PCP has been great but their ob/gyn services are embarrassing. How is it there’s only 1 day a month my physician is available and yet cancels that 1 day? MA is supposed to be big on reproductive health but it doesn’t seem like CHA is on board with that.
Emma Pottinger: Their debt collections service is incredibly rude and hostile. I got charged exorbitant fees for a pap smear because the doctor asked me how I was and I said I had a headache and so they didn't charge it as a wellness visit. I was never informed about this. They also cancel appointments last minute. I would not recommend CHA at all!Edit on 11/16: I have repeatedly made contact with little to no response. They used the wrong billing codes and are not correcting it nor responding to me / the Care Coordinators working on my behalf.
Ryan LaPerle: Great clinic with a really friendly lab, staff and doctors. I was able to get all my shots in one visit. The nurses were so nice to help me get all my medical needs and answer all my questions after seeing the doctor. Also I had a issue getting an appointment the receptionist was able to fix it and get me in right away. A really great local family clinic right near central and Kendall sq.
Samuel Figaro: Overall the support staff (receptionist, lab, and medical assistants) are pleasant. A lot of care goes into the practice workflow. My only concern is with certain providers (e.g. Stephen the P.A.). An issue with Public hospital systems that serve an underserved population is the lack of respect often afforded to the patients. Whatever a patients challenges may be (ESL, poverty, or other social disparities) should not reflect in patient care. Each individual deserves respect and equitable treatment regardless of perceived notions or other biases. I understand the difficulties in time-restrained cookie cut practices however, more training needs to go into treating folks with compassion, empathy, and respect.
Angie Reese: I see why this place is only a 3 star.Dental department is horrible with answering the phone. Had me waiting 26 min just to click on me . Horrible place
Jie Zhao: Terrible explaining bills. The answer is always i am not a doctor i don't know the details. Will looking for other patient care facility.
Ezequiel Zarate: J. Keller it was the worst doctor that I have in my life. I had a serious problem in my back and he gave an appointment 2 weeks later....and the day of the appointment they call me to cancel. Horrible service.I received one call from them (03/28/22) that I will have a solution for this bad service. Still waiting for them to call me back ....04/19/22 . Carla (supervisor) call me only to book me again with other doctor. Not solution about the bill and neither an apology from the doctor. Worst clinic ever. DONT GO THERE!
Jay P: To be completely honest, I think this is one of the worst practices that I have ever seen ever in my life. Never have a definite resolution for any patient that goes there. Doctors do not find a way to manage your pain, Real underlying problems they have been part of me for years aren’t getting treated how they should be. Every single time I call to tell them about a concern I have it goes into one ear and comes out the you know what. Very unprofessional and they do not care about their patients. I could walk into one of the clinics with one limb and they will tell me to take Tylenol for it. You think I haven’t done that genius? We know opioid use is bigger than ever these past few years but not everyone has addictive personality. They assume that everyone that calls there for pain or existing pain is there for opioid abuse, some of us have tried multiple ways to manage our pain. Some things really can’t be resolved with PT or Cortizone injections. Definitely won’t be a patient here anymore. I’ve been with this practice for 2 years and not once have they helped me with my health. They should be embarrassed that patients keep righting comments like this. They need to re-evaluate the way they take care of their patients.
Julie Johnson: Annmarie Lynch had the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced from a medical professional. She gave medical advice/opinions on an area she has never studied that contradicted decades of research published in peer-reviewed medical journals. I have been diagnosed with ADHD for over a decade and have been receiving treatment for it as well. During my new patient visit, she told me "Adult ADHD isn't real." She also told me "You don't need Adderall. Everyone can benefit from Adderall. There's a reason why med students love it." It was first proven in the 1990s that Adult ADHD IS real. Over the past 30 years, countless studies have also proven it is real. In fact, several studies have shown there are differences in the brain scans of adults with ADHD compared to neurotypical adults. She was extremely unprofessional and should have referred me to a Psychiatrist or ADHD Specialist who is well-versed and up-to-date in neurological disorders rather than present opinion as fact and provide incorrect information.
Keke “Keke” P: I love coming to Windsor street and seeing my primary care doctor my doctor is so good she is sweet and kind and always go above and beyond. My doctor is a women . I don’t wanna release her name to much information but she is a beautiful African queen who loves her patient !!!!! Thank you for all you doAnd also the Receptionist name tanadia is very sweet and really nice!!! And kind
Parsa: Terrible doctors and service. Had to wait for more than an hour just to see a doctor who was not helpful at all. Avoid this place like the plague
Diego Romeres: Just another machine to make money. Every year I go in for my standard physical check-up, saying that I do not want anything extra to the standard visit. And every year they code my visits in a way that my insurance doesn't cover it and I have to pay hundreds of dollars. Hours of call with their operators to hear always either there is nothing we can do or we have sent your complain (to someone that you have no idea who he/she is, that never listen your side of the story) and the charges are confirmed. And in the end you are forced to pay for something that either you didn't received or you didn't request.
Hayley Jay: I just called, waited 15 minutes until finally they answered and the woman who answered me literally asked me: What do you want? I replied that I would like to make an appointment with the Dentist and she answered me even more rude saying: We're no longer accepting patients! so I asked: Why not? And she say again: Cuz we're not longer accepting patients!! and hung up on me! 😓I don't know who puts such a rude person to be a secretary clearly, she doesn't care.
julia brown: great medical care
Jeanderson Pereira: Very helpful and nice staff 👍 👌
s. a. spinks: Peaceful, pleasant environment with friendly staff who are patient & kind.
Jeff Walker: I had a doctor there for almost 20 years. She recently retired and I have new PCP there who I love! They are very accommodating and many of the staff have been there a really long time and are very heartfelt in their work. It truly feels like a neighborhood health center.
Anup Nepal: Waiting time is really long and bad customer service.
Olimpia Z: Pleasant and helpful staff - sometimes the wait time is a littler long but not unreasonable. Very convince my for those living in Central Square.
Xi Xi: I love this place. I feel comfortable as if I were at home.

CHA Cambridge Family Health North: what do users think?
Mr. Raindrop: My experience was not pleasant at all. There is no way that people should feel taking a risk when they go to any clinic for just a vaccine and blood test.
Jake Szymczak: Good doctors, nurses, and practitioners, but customer service is reprehensible. Good luck getting an appointment, processing claims accurately, or having a phone call answered by a human being. If your coverage permits, I would go anywhere but here.
A Chaudhari: The manager is very rude. Faced racism. Make sure you know person name if you spoke over the phone another wise no answer and support.
Abraham Vinod: Many other reviewers have already mentioned this. CHA has good doctors and nurses but they have a horrible approach to billing. I am going to repeat my story so that everyone knows it is still happening.TLDR: Our annual checkup (preventive care), which was supposed to be free, ended up costing us $600+ because of CHA billing practices. My wife and I went for annual check up, which included blood work. However, CHA billing sent two claims to my insurance, one for the doctor's visit and the other for all of our labwork. So while my doctor's visit was treated as a preventive check up and covered 100%, our labs also done on the same day were not. So now we are on the hook for a $600+ bill for a visit that should have been completely free. Note that we made sure not to mention any other ailments in this visit (hence the 100% coverage of doctor's visit).Really disappointed with CHA!
Maria Matoshi: I had my complete physical exam today with Galina Tan, MD. She is such a wonderful, intelligent and kind doctor. I am so happy I found her!All the other staff members were extremely nice and polite as well.I also ended up sending a mychart message with a follow up question and got a response in less than an hour.A+ experienceThank you!
Vahideh Ansari: Unhelpful staff, won’t come here again.I have been a soccer ball between departments, nobody is giving me a right answer. Because of a mistake in labeling that they made, now I have to pay a bill for a visit which was supposed to be covered.
Carolyn Peterson: Dr. Emily Chen is a great doctor but I have had a nightmare with payment. I have good insurance from a large corporation and have never had issues like this. CHA requires you to have a 30-minute telemedicine appointment before you get an in-person physical, and I was charged over $300, which most insurance doesn't cover because CHA bills it as an "outpatient" service (since they're affiliated with a hospital, despite this being a primary care office). I was informed unapologetically by CHA's billing office that this happens all the time to their patients, and there's nothing they can do. Furthermore, this would happen anytime you go in if sick to your primary care doctor because it would always be billed as "non-routine outpatient care." I luckily had the money to pay but this makes me extremely upset because this probably has happened to hundreds of patients without any way to know they'll be charged an arm and a leg. Seems like CHA is knowingly robbing their patients.
Ayaka Kamisato: People who worked here don’t even recommend CHA. I know why now. The customer service is horrible, they just kick me like a soccer ball to a different person, whoever wants to accept the responsibility for my inquiry gets the extra work. PA and MD are not great with diagnosis. I could self-diagnose with the easier things, but when I'm stuck, they are stuck too. Maybe this is the standard of care in the United States. The one good thing is that the people are nice when you are in the clinic receiving care. If this is the tier your insurance accepts, then you have to be extra patient and do the leg running and investigations yourself.
Ada R: Perhaps the worst hospital experience I've ever had. The staff lack the empathy and knowledge to be helpful to new patients. If you have the option, find another practice, I never review anything but my experience was that bad.
Mary: This is only for the person who works at the front desk, call for an urgent appointment and I understand if they don't have a quick appointment, but today at 5pm the lady was quite rude and spoke to me with attitude, I better decided to go this week in person.
Prince Jersey: This review is applicable ONLY to front office staff at CHA, North Cambridge, NOT the doctors or the nurses. Doctors are fine, & nurses are nice, but only if you reach to them via front office staff. Not all, but many front office people put the phone on'... currently assisting other patients' after answering first time, and cutting the call while acting like gathering some info for you. This happened to me not once or twice, but 5 times in last few years. I try calling them again after getting first call cut in the middle only to land on '... Currently assisting other callers'. It's fine if they're really busy, but what annoys me is that they act themselves out. You waste a lot of time in this process only to leave your question or information unanswered until you either go in person, or get lucky one day to reach that rare kind person in front office. Good luck if you are going there. Be ready to waste your valuable time in all this.
Armando Ochoa: WARNING be careful with your bill in this place!!I DO NOT recommend this medical provider especially as a new patient. I was looking only for an annual check up (fully covered by my insurance provider) and now I owe more than $500.First, they made me do an initial telehealth visit but because of the way CHA coded it to the insurance company, now I'm responsible for the $322 cost of it.Second, during the medical review, I was stupid enough to mention that my left leg hurts so the doctor gave me a PDF with knee exercises and charged me with extra $205 for that (because apparently if you mention that something hurts then it is not included in the preventive care). When I called CHA they were completely unhelpful and told me it is my fault for not checking twice before receiving the service.
Claire Loe: I strongly advise people against coming here as a new patient, especially if your insurance only covers preventative care. I had scheduled a routine physical with a doctor here--something fully covered by my insurance provider--but because of the way CHA coded it to the insurance company, I ended up being responsible for the $300 cost of the telehealth visit. I tried calling CHA numerous times to correct the billing code, and each time was told something different by the person I spoke to with regards to why I was being made responsible for the cost. They were completely unhelpful and in the end I wasn't able to resolve this issue with them. If you do decide to go here, make sure upfront that they aren't going to screw you over when it comes to billing.
Michael Luce: Dr. Amy Colson is the best doctor I have ever had in my long and extensive medical conditions. No one has more concern for my general health and comfort as she does. Always on top of my ailments with a fine tooth comb. She always kept me informed of any and all Treatments for my various conditions while she never forced me to any direction she kept me educated of each different approach and explained her reasoning for the direction she suggested I take. All in all the best doctor anyone could want for their health and wellness.
Christina Myers: First, I love my doctor (and my therapist) at CHA. This review is about billing practices. I have been seeing a LCSW therapist at a CHA Family Health Center. I was billed for Outpatient Hospital services instead of for a regular counseling session. I have a co-pay for office visits for in network providers and then my insurance pays a negotiated fee to the provider for an office visit. For Hospital Outpatient service I pay the full fee ($330), and no coverage from my insurance until I’ve paid my full deductible. I thought this billing was a mistake. I had a billing mistake here in the past for a routine medical screening which took months to resolve. I spoke to the billing office and was told me all mental health services are billed as Outpatient Hospital services. I’ve already spoken to two people and am waiting to hear from a supervisor. I feel that this is nothing less than a scam to get more money out of consumers. Beware of these practices before using anything other than regular primary care services at CHA. I will update this review if this is resolved, but given what I was told today, I am not hopeful.
Susan SusanR: Nice shade trees. Informative photos and history of the original Carriage Factory.
Bryan Hoyle: Great doctors office
Atilla Ozkefeli: very satisfied with the service and the doctors so far
ROLEPLAY B2B SELLING: Doctors and nursing staff associated with doctors are great. Very empathetic, responsive and try to help you and put you at ease. Non- medical staff (receptionist, clerk) is rude and unsympathetic most of the time.I was scheduled for a procedure early morning at CHA Highland Ave location this week. When I got to the registration desk on Aug 23rd morning, I was told that the doctor doing the procedure was not my regular doctor but someone else.I approached the receptionist at the Doctor’s office section to enquire why I had not received any information about this change of physician. The receptionist said she had informed by phone the previous afternoon. I told her that we check our voicemail regularly and do not remember getting any voicemail or any other intimation about this change. She just shrugged her shoulders. I did not sense least bit of remorse or contrition by the receptionist about her lackadaisical approach to patient concerns. The physician who performed the procedure did a great job. However, I believe that Cambridge Hospital has the obligation and responsibility to let the patients know in advance if there is a change of physicians for the procedure. I strongly believe that this is violation of patient rights and points to tolerance of callous attitude by your staff.
Andrea Haynes: They get you in and out quickly and have great customer service. Highly recommend!
Steve Shwartz: I've only been very disappointed with this service. I've had a prescription filled by them around 10 times now and 8 of them have had large errors such as sending the prescription to the wrong office, filling out the incorrect date and not notifying me when it's available for pickup. Furthermore I just received a letter from a collections agency claiming I owe money to the office however I was never informed of an outstanding balance. I plan to switch doctor's offices as soon as possible.

MIT Medical: what do users think?
Samuel: Convenient if you are on the MIT health insurance and want something close by, but consistently poor quality of service. I have had multiple occasions where the receptionist forgets to mark me as checked in, so I end up waiting in the waiting room until I go back up to the receptionist. My PCP has misdiagnosed me even after I explicitly asked if I had a certain condition, so I normally try to bypass the PCP and just ask for a referral to a specialist. Urgent care often sends me on my way with no information on followup unless I specifically ask (e.g. for a referral to a specialist or physical therapy).
Buck Leach: Have never had a problem with my health care. Courteous, professional and helpful care.
Morgan J: The nurses are absolutely horrible and don’t actually help you. The doctors are all extremely fatphobic. 0/10 but unfortunately I have the MIT insurance and have to come here. The male (bald) front desk assistant at primary care is AMAZING and so helpful though!!!!!
Hilary Chang: I had a terrible pain in my throat due to covid so I requested an urgent care appointment. There seems to be some mistakes in booking that when I arrived the front desk could not find my name on the list. But they quickly resolved the issue and got me in a room for treatment. I was impressed how welcoming the front desk were. I did not expect such a warm greeting since as today lots of people have already gotten covid. The front desk kindly asked how I feel and suggested me to use the grocery service when she knew I live on campus. That was extremely helpful. Dr. Luanne was very kind and caring. She gave me a through examination and very useful suggestions. It was a relief to receive such a warm and caring treatment in the hell of covid pain. Thank you all medical workers for providing such a wonderful experience in the time of covid.
Sam Maldonado: Rude/unfriendly staff
Hao-Wei Pang: I had an appointment at 10 am for a test at the second floor and checked in on time. I waited till 10:30 am and no one came to claim me for my appointment. When I asked what’s going on, it turned out they don’t even know who is supposed to do the test for me and they didn’t bother to figure it out until I asked. It makes me wonder if they really know what they are doing. Very unprofessional.
Will Bradshaw: Rudest receptionist I've ever met
Star “LoveIsWicked” Water: Hello. At MIT medical there is only ONE good nurse that actually asks how you’re doing. Next, the doctor rushed through us and also told us that the Urgent Care only focuses on the throat and other upper areas, even though my son had really bad leg pain. The nurse asked what the scale out of 10 was and he said 9 which was horrible!
C: I have had mostly pleasant experiences at MIT Medical, but for this experience, I would give 0 stars if I could.I called to confirm that my partner (an affiliate who had recently graduated) was still covered under the student plan after he was involved in a car accident. The person on the line confirmed that he was.He brought his medical insurance card to Urgent Care and they AGAIN confirmed that he had coverage. After all exams (x-rays, a splint) and a few hours, he was notified as he was leaving that he DID NOT have coverage and would be marked as a self-care patient. If we had known that he did not have coverage, we would have explored different options instead of settling immediately on MIT Medical after being MISINFORMED (TWICE) about the status of our insurance. We are currently awaiting a reply from the student plans office regarding this situation and will update this accordingly.
Mircea Dinca: Unless you are literally dying, avoid this, as you will never be attended to.
Ginnette Powell: Dr. Nguyen in dental is awesome. I'll be asking for her for all my appointments.
Lennart Bock: Was there for urgent care and definitely recommend MIT Medical. Very skilled and friendly personnel!Make sure to make an appointment online to skip the line.
Ali Daher: Horrible service. One doctor in urgent care had me promise after I was trying to convince her of crucial tests precribed by my PCP (who was not available that week and told me to pass by urgent care) that she would only do them if I promised she would not be responsible for following up with me on the test results. It was absolutely humiliating.
Sam Locke: I've been to a lot of doctors in my day. Not all of them have been particularly warm, welcoming, or acted like they wanted me there. Never so much as at MIT Medical, however, wherein I was scrutinized without a filter by Dr. Amirnazmi, who was appalled by the medication I was taking to the point of speaking most unprofessionally about it, as well as the state of my hair [something I am sensitive about] which was in bad shape due to illness. Her bluntness, abruptness, and the way she rushed around was exhausting. She did manage to listen to a couple of my concerns, but namely, I felt like a number instead of a person. I suppose that's the cost of attending a busy university facility, though. And it seems a lot of people had similar experiences.
Libby Falck: Wish I could rate different departments separately. Urgent care is AMAZING. Can be a bit of a wait at the wrong time but the people are lovely, kind, caring, and everything a healthcare team should be. The pharmacy is HORRIBLE. Seriously - get your meds somewhere else if you can. The pharmacists are unfriendly, unhelpful, and generally don’t seem to give a damn about patients.
Michaye Ledford: Extremely sexist. The first time I went with light-headedness, fatigue, and fainting spells, they wrote it off as "this is normal for women" and told me to "just go eat some protein." It took them a week to diagnose me with anemia and repeated effort on my part to say "I think this is what my symptoms mean."Now having abdominal pain up to my ribs, they won't throw off the theory of menstrual cramps. Pretty sure my uterus doesn't go up into my ribcage, thanks.I've had a friend who went for wrist pain which they diagnosed as a sprain; it was fractured. They obviously try to rush diagnoses and "wait out" any illnesses they can't think of off the top of their heads.
Vira Semenova: Update:My older experience was OK, but the service today was excellent! They treat abdominal pain very seriously and promptly.I was in fever having 102F, called MIT Medical Saturday 9am and asked for telephone instructions. Had to wait two hours and make 2-3 more calls to finally speak to a doctor. Was subsequently prescribed peptobismol for absolutely zero complaints of stomach problems (it was actually sore throat).Visited next hour in person using Uber, got steroids that helped immediately.
rajesh sharma: Surroundings are neat. Wait time is typically 1 hr. The treatment process is very slow.
SUN JIN MOON: Worst. Very slow. It takes avg. 2 hour before talking to a nurse. No doctor at first sight. No appointment. I come here because of school insurance. But I will never come here if I have to pay myself
Wenmin Chen: My experience with MIT medical in the past year has been a complete nightmare. Before I go into the details I must point out that I actually really like my primary care physician at MIT Medical and have only positive things to say about her. However, MIT pediatrics, Urgent Care, and pharmacy have been just awful. First, MIT urgent care prescribed incorrect dosage of medicine for my son and I only realized it because my son was prescribed the same medicine before. After the medicine problem was corrected, I was short 15ml of the medicine and MIT pharmacy refused to give me the medicine. Second, a doctor at MIT pediatrics misdiagnosed appendicitis as constipation even though I kept saying it could be appendicitis, resulting in complications that landed my son in the hospital twice. I filed a complain and as a result they are now overreacting. Just yesterday, my son's primary care physician freaked out and asked me to take my son to the ER over the phone when it was not warranted. I told her it could be strep throat but she refused to listen and threatened me by saying she would still ask me to take him to the ER anyway if I wait to have her examine him no matter the outcome of her exam. After multiple hours of waiting in the ER and unnecessary tests and ultrasound, the diagnosis was indeed strep throat. So basically she wasted my time and my money ($100 ER copay vs. $10 at MIT medical) as well as thousands of dollars of insurer's money.
anthony duggins: On the few occasions I need to see my Primary Care Doctor the clinic only ever gives me an appointment approx 4 weeks away. Each time I have made an appointment for an annual checkup the original appointment is cancelled and another one made at a significantly later date. It is comforting and stress reducing to know I can use the English NHS when in England. The counter staff range from being unfriendly (therefore stress inducing) to friendly.
