Hilton's Tent City: what do users think?
Luis Sandoval: Was there today to check their backpacks. One of them wasn't friendly at all which ultimately made me decide not to purchase the backpack I was hesitant to buy ($229 Topo Designs Travel bag 40l) On the good part, it made me look up the Facebook marketplace again and got something for $100. I mean thanks no thanks. Imagine losing $229 sale just because you couldn't have a friendly conversation haha.
Tyler Saxe: Always has what I need, effective longstanding outdoor supply.
Oscar Morales: Hilton's Tent City has great customer support and quick shipping service. I had a wrong item shipped to me and emailed them and with no hassle they shipped me the correct item in no time! I would buy again from them.
Lily Harris: Love this local gear shop, the staff were honest and friendly in helping me find what I needed :)
Sean S.: Oh how I miss Hilton Tent City when they were in Boston and provided good value for the money. Regardless of inflation the prices they charge for men’s winter costs are ridiculous! I’ll stick with LL Bean.
Audiobooks Fun for Kids Playing Learning English: best of the best of the best... old schol. on the old schol...............kind of cool on the renovation NORTH STATION store..!! awesome sale.. can not wait til the LOUNGE is open
Nick Leheny: They had a hard to find item I was looking for. I called to make sure they had it, and then bought it on their website. They shipped it out promptly and it arrived early in perfect condition.
Daniel Place: Great locally owned outdoors shop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a pretty good selection considering the size of the store and the location in downtown Cambridge. They have just about everything you could need for an outdoor adventure: tents, backpacks, clothing, footwear, cookware, knives, and other outdoor gear you'd need at the campsite or on the trail. They have a great staff, and they'll certainly help make your next outdoor adventure a success!
Katie G: Stopped by for the first time to grab a random collection of items for a backpacking trip, was not disappointed!!! Great recommendations, great brands, and super convenient being in Central. Will definitely be coming back for all outdoor gear!
Kenneth Mui (K): Tent City is truly the best hidden jewel when it comes down to traveling/hiking, camping gear. It was a lot bigger back in Boston, but I’m so happy they decided to open their doors in Cambridge! I’ve bought countless jackets, tents, camping gear, backpacks, gloves and accessories for myself and my family. I’ve always found what I needed when gearing up for treks in the white mountains or vacationing in other countries. It’s truly your old mom and pop store with lots of knowledgeable sales associates. I love Tent City for its brands, products, value, selection and prefer it over REI, EMS, Bob Store..ect.
Jenna Sunshine: LOVE THIS PLACE! Tons of great gear for everything from hiking & camping to fishing and bird watching. They have a little bit of everything! Backpacks of all sizes for hiking or day-to-day, hiking boots, sandals & shoes, sleeping bags & sleeping pads, clothes, outerwear, tents, hammocks, water bottles, camelbacks & water bladders, binoculars, knives, stoves, and all the assorted technical gear you can think of. If you need anything for hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, etc this is the place to go! Support a small, local independently-owned business instead of Amazon or a large chain store.
lian duan: Very enthusiastic merchants, very cheap prices, very pleasant shopping experience, will definitely come back again.
Alex Schab: Amazing store with great prices.
Erik Eklund: This place always has something you want. It's the best place to find high quality outdoor and camping gear.
Nathan Elchert: I placed an order for sale-priced cold-weather gear on their website, which qualified for free two-day shipping. A week later the package had not arrived. I emailed and received no response. I called and was told that my order had been automatically cancelled due to “a red flag.” (I had received no notification of the cancellation whatever.) I said I still wished to order the items and asked how to go about this. I was told to reorder the items in two orders rather than one, to reduce the total costs and avoid another red flag. I set about doing this but found that the sale pricing was no longer available on three of four items. I called to ask about the pricing and was told that the pricing I had received the first time was wrong due to a pricing glitch on their end, that they would not sell me the items at that price, and that they wouldn’t ship to me anyway, since packages are often stolen in my area. (I guess my area is NYC — they won’t ship to NYC?) This was a frustrating waste of time and I still don’t have the cold-weather gear I need for an upcoming trip.
Calvin Harjono: I don’t think I’ve ever written a Google review but felt a need to do so in this given the absolutely terrible experience at had in this shop. I should first mention that I’m a huge advocate for local businesses but in no way is it acceptable for customers to be yelled at and run out of your store for wanting to try on a jacket. That’s not a business, that’s a sham.I came in to browse around, as I had passed by many times and been attracted to the variety of backpacks. While there I saw they had a jacket I was interested in and I had asked if I could try it on (it apparently was not in the showroom). The gentlemen at the register, who I can only presume as the owner considering that his customer service was absolute in no way someone you would want to hire to run your shop, immediately gave me a keen look of suspicion. To which I tried to dispelled with “it’s okay if you don’t, I just want to try it on to see if it’s right for me.”He abruptly says “SO YOU WANT TO TRY IT ON AND BUY IT SOMEWHERE ELSE?!?” I was stunned. In this awkward position, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said “it’s okay, don’t want to trouble you, don’t worry about.” I had thought he was joking, but he wasn’t. Moreover, he had the audacity to say “Yeah, I won’t worry about it.” I couldn’t help but feel so uncomfortable I hastily walked out.People looking to shop here, I can only advise that you take my experience for whatever it’s worth. I moved 3 blocks away from this store and had all the intentions of supporting a local business. I am mortified with the experience, perhaps he was having a bad day? I can only guess, but I hope for future customers he surely has less of them.
Michael Meyer: Not much selection and very limited inventory in site. Check their website before visiting site. Think small business not large business like REI or LL Bean. Sales people seem depressed and exhausted.
Greg S: Fantastic little store. A nice selection of knives, camping gear, and general active-people stuff.Staff seemed nice and made good recommendations when I asked about shoes. Prices are reasonable. I’ll definitely be going back.
Gani Ecoresort: Baik pelayanan nya. Barang banyak berbagai merek besar. Lengkap lah
Mr Shannon Joslin: Great store great service better than 4.5
A. F.: Wide selection of gear with budget level up to Arc’teryx. Love that they stock Mystery Ranch packs.

Cambridge Bicycle: what do users think?
Firat Imir: At first , they told me 40$ total for adjusting both breaks, after they finished work they charged me 70$. Unbelievable.
Vinnicios “vinny” Ferreira: These guys are great. Highly knowledgeable staff. All I needed was some information and even though I didn't purchase anything I got all the assistance I needed to make a wise decision. I greatly recommend Cambridge bicycle.
Ignacio DR: I fixed a flat tire here. It went flat again the next day. There was no puncture so most likely there was a defect in the valve of the new tire. They still made me pay 15$ extra for labor. Also they did not screw the wheel back properly and had to return once again!
Shannon Malloy: Have been a customer for 2+ years. The staff recognize me by name every time I come in and are very transparent with pricing and repairs. I bought my first new bike from them and the process was wonderful. They let me test ride for as long as I wanted and were patient while I tested different versions. They have made minor quick repairs for me for free because they know I’m a repeat customer. Great friendly staff that put on group rides periodically and fun inventory!
Marcela Silveira: I stood there for 5 minutes not one employee greeted me. But the guy made sure to stop everything to talk when his friends showed up at store!?!? Bad customer service. That's why girl's don't like it there.
Sneha Sabu: The left brake of my bike was not working and I went to Cambridge Bicycle after seeing their reviews. I walked up to the guy at the reception and showed my problem. This guy just looked at the brake from over the counter and fixes it in a minute (without even moving from the counter). I was really impressed. Will definitely go there for bike repairs
Electryo Argyris: Hit or miss. You can see some people get charged $5 for 20 min. I got charged $20 for a bolt and 5 min of labor. I called ahead but it didn't help. I'm sure they're busy, and they're generally nice.
Michael Chunko: Prices are a bit high but they offer test rides and are very knowledgeable. Eddy was a great help.
Christopher Dedecko: I had both good and bad experiences. The staff is usually helpful, however the pricing is a bit expensive.
Jacob Lissoos: Don't be thrown off by the fact that their inventory is mostly city bikes, they can repair everything including the most high end road bikes. Very professional, they will always call you if the work runs over budget or calls for extra parts. As a bike DIY repair person, they are always happy to explain/teach repairs to me and provide free advice when I drop in, which I really appreciate. Very friendly too!
Mary Ladesic: Incredible customer service! Shoutout to Adam who spent over a half hour walking me through different options and recommendations for accessories and gear as a new bike commuter. Adam was so patient and helpful. My go to place for all things bike related!
Michael Luu: It's nice that they have free air and pumps supplied outside the store. However, when I came in to buy a single item the other day the front staff were not staffing the register at all. I waited for about 10-15 minutes and a staff member finally arrived. Before they even help me check in they had another customer cut in front of me. Instead of just being treated like that I decided to just leave. Pretty disappointing customer service experience.
Thomas Gschwendtner: Found what I needed for a reasonable price, a saddle. They also lent me an allen wrench to mount right here.
Michelle Han: I experienced really terrible customer service at Cambridge Bicycle. I was told by someone in the shop that they could build up a bike for me that I had requested and that they would call me as soon as it was built. 4 days later, I didn't receive a call, so I call myself to inquire and they told me the bike had SOLD and no one had even called me to tell me they finished building the bike?! To top it off, the staff were very unempathetic and rude and told me "well what do you want me to do". DO NOT go here if you want to be treated well and respected as a customer.
Kira Clingen: I came in with a flat tire that blew out in 20 seconds. I was told, repeatedly, that there was nothing wrong with my tire, it had to be a slow leak, and that I was wasting my time and money replacing it. Finally, the person repairing the tire asked if I wanted to take the tire and tube home, since there was "nothing wrong with it." I felt like an idiot explaining that the tire did not deflate slowly, it blew out, over and over again to different people at the shop. Sure enough, when the person went to put the tube into the bag, it deflated immediately. There was a huge piece of glass in it. Rough and borderline rude experience but the new tire and replacement was decent, if somewhat slow. Compared to REI, it's expensive, but the location is convenient.
Faisal Alnasser: Limited bike options. One of the employees was rude.
Aaron Throness: Visited the store today - the customer service staff were friendly, the store was in good order, and an impressive suite altogether. However, their pricing points are almost exclusively $1,000+, which far exceeded my range of affordability as a doctoral student looking for an affordable bicycle.
Raj Vinjamuri: Adam in sales and the folks in the shop do a great job of taking care of your needs.
Rhys Probyn: Extremely competent mechanics who are straightforward and honest; good inventory of parts, tools, tires, tubes, fenders, saddles, apparel etc.Spent some time in the shop awaiting repairs and observed them diagnosing multiple bikes. I agree with everything I heard and saw and felt like the mechanic was honest and each price quoted was fair. I know it stinks to spend $100-150 repairing a commuter bike that you bought for $300 - 500 but over time you're def saving money vs commuting by car or the T and probably saving lots of time. You can trust this crew to get the repair done right and from what I've seen give you a fair price. Don't forget they have to cover rent, salaries for competent mechanics and staff, tools/equipment, hold inventory, insurance etc. Its a tough business and it seems they manage it well in order to treat customers fairly. 100% would recommend
Stefan Unterhauser (dogi): There is this passive aggressive employee which always speaks down to me ..."Come back in 3 weeks"Not the language of service or solutionsSpecially since my relationship with store is already 8 years it hurts a lot
Sangwoon Kim: avoid this place. I went to repair a flat tire and the tire went flat the next morning even though I did not ride the bike after the repair. So I went to the shop again to do another repair, and they charged me the full price again, although it happened less than 24 hours since I got the previous repair. The staff was also very rude and unfriendly throughout the process. Irresponsible.

Broadway Bicycle School: what do users think?
H X: We lost ALL air from a public bike station nearby when we tried to inflate. Found this shop with a air bump outside for public. Totally saved us! Thanks for the kindness of sharing.
Benjamin Schenker: Reasonable price, quick service, friendly. Will be coming back for future bike repairs
Jim Eggleston: I love BBS, the people, the service, the philosophy.
Gloria Evans: Great experience
Alec Anderson: Kind, helpful and knowledgable! I brought in my bike thinking there was a brake issue, and the staff immediately recognized the frame was actually cracked. Rather than trying to sell me a new frame or bike, they gave me some really helpful advice on a way to save a lot of money, even though it meant I had to work directly with manufacturer/bike shop rather than them. I'll definitely be back in the future for any repairs or bike needs I have!
Marcela Silveira: They girl was super attentive and professional. Women's friendly store.
Norm Lark: Nickel and Dimed. Customer service is poor. When I asked them to fix an issue they created they pressed me to pay more to fix the problem.Bike was fitted with a new freewheel that was very loud when asked to help solve the issue they suggested I pay an hourly rate for them to oil it.
Lillian Worth: I had a really nice experience here buying parts and a helmet! The staff were super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - someone greeted me right away and helped me pick out a helmet. I decided to get a couple other things while I was there and was very pleasantly surprised that they also carried hub parts for my classic sturmey archer AW. Not only that, a different staff member clearly knew a ton about those hubs - many other bike shops don't have a clue. Ever since my go-to shop closed (I miss you Hub Bicycle!) I haven't really had a reliable local bike shop. I'll definitely be back to Broadway the next time I need anything!
Angel Robinson: Dont service ebikes
Tanveer Karim: Really great local bike shop! Highly recommend
Joey Gu: On the plus side, the staff were knowledgeable, answered all questions, and got the job done quickly. However, my experience made me feel they might have lacked basic customer support skills and were vague about prices. After some research into local bike shops, I chose Broadway Bicycle School specifically because of the lower cost of a flat repair ($19) as advertised on their website (see screenshot in picture). However, it was only after all work was done that I was told the website price was outdated and now the price was $25 (actually $24.50 according to the receipt). I asked nicely if they would consider doing a write-off due to the wrong price on the website, but they not only refused ("Yeah I can't. Sorry."), but also appeared rather aloof to my suggestion that they should perhaps keep the prices on their website up-to-date.On a secondary note, I was also advised to get both of my tires replaced (which I found to be a reasonable suggestion in itself). Before service, I was told each tire would be $25, but on the receipt the price for two tires came to $52, which meant the actual price per tire was $26. It was not a big difference, but in the context of the situation with flat repair, this made me feel they were playing fast and loose with prices and were not clearly communicating prices before service.I would advise anyone considering visiting Broadway Bicycle School to ask *very explicitly* about prices BEFORE they begin working on your bike. You may find the staff to be skillful bike mechanics who unfortunately lack the professionalism to make sure customers leave their shop happy and wanting to come back.
Rose O'Brien: Wonderful service! It was so easy to make a booking online, and they helped me out immediately. I dropped off the bike for a quick service and it was ready later the same day.Great folks and honest prices - they even advised me against a tune up because of how my bike might not retain the changes in the winter months. Will definitely return!!
Erick Peeke: Very friendly and helpful staff.
jacob knable: Positive:Professionalism,Quality
Travis McDaniel: Positive:ProfessionalismGood folks. Took the time to assess my bike and made sure I could ride away straight and proper. Thank you!
Janice Chen: Positive:Professionalism,Value
Martin Reindl: Came here because my chain has been jumping a lot. They fixed everything in 5 minutes without even asking for payment and were super friendly all the way through. Thanks a million times for your help! Can 100% recommend and will come again if my bike has any more substantial problems!
J. Moné: Just good/friendly people fixing bikes. What more could ask for.
Daniel Wang: Super friendly place, even if you just stop by for a question. Different vibe than other sales-oriented, corporate feeling bike shops. Will be my primary bike shop from now on.
daniel fisher: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI love their service and have been a customer for 40 years.I admire that at least this cooperative from the 70’s has survived.
