George Neusch: Great lunch specials. Small venueFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Brent: Their teriyaki chicken was some of the worst and most undercooked I’ve ever had. Like rubber. To make it even worse, it cost $25, and the restrauant is the size of a closet. Avoid
Phoebe Ko: Pretty good lunch, the rice was just a bit drier than I expected, fish was very fresh! We will be back again.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Melody Liu: Small portions for not so special sushi. Here’s how much I got for $8.We also ordered takeout as a group, but they gave us one pair of chopsticks and one napkin. We ordered it in-person, so I’m not sure how they messed that up.It looks like a pretty place to dine in though!
Sarah Saatori: Excellent lunch special with a superb value.
Sadie: As others have said, a visually unassuming place that's turning out quite fantastic food.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Nigiri Dinner …More
Yuji Chan: Did not feel clean!! Dirty cups, table didnt feel clean etc, sushi window was also rough… food was okay. My company enjoyed their food but i thought otherwise. Tempura in my sushi was actually the whole sushi deep fried. Miso soup was salty.
Blake Lyon: Great sushi at ok prices.Recommended dishes Miso Soup, Sashimi …More
Brian Chiou: I had ordered a takeout spicy tuna roll that tasted off. I had an omakase meal lined up at Cafe Sushi for dinner which would be expensed as a business meal. So, I ordered takeout sushi for my family as I felt bad about the great meal I had ahead of me. My wife ate a piece and immediately asked me to try it as well as she thought it was off. It was so bad that it turned her off from eating the yellowtail roll and me off from getting omakase that wouldn't been free. The service is good though. They wanted to make things right but I can't get over how rotten the spicy tuna tasted.
A K: Taste: 70/80. Ordered the Chicken katsu which came with miso soup and rice and grilled squid. Chicken was crispy and the squid was cooked well.Atmosphere/Service: 3.5/5 Space was very cramped and music was a little weird. Service was quick but it took a while to get a water refillRe-eatability: 13/15. Menu isn't huge as most of it is sushi but they have other good options and food is all healthy.Overall: 86.5 - Would definitely come back/recommend
Jessie Li: Overall positive experience! The food was good--I ordered an eel donburi and grilled squid--both were very tasty.Came in around 2pm and the servers were quick to take our orders with a pretty full house. The restaurant is pretty small and well decorated. For maximum seating, people sit pretty close together. Music is a range of throwbacks from the 2000-2010.
michael eddlem: Everything was very fresh and prepared like the sushi I had in Japan. This is my “Go to place “ to eat sushi.
Zuelay Rosario: Great place for quick and delicious sushi with a glass of wine. Totally recommend if you are in the area!
Joseph Roberts: Favorite sushi place in boston. The Sakana sushi boat is a perfect portion for two people and comes with a delicious shrimp tempura
Al L.: Awesome house salad and fresh fish

Cafe Sushi: what do users think?
James C: It’s not NYC/LA quality, but possibly the best sushi in Boston/Cambridge.
Wusong Road: Best sushi quality for the price i the Boston area! The Shoten also has some great deals for takeaway—and if I can sneak home early some nights I love to grab something (not just sushi) from their takeaway counter
T Lieberman: Love the weeknight plattersFood: 5/5 …More
Kaitlyn Switalski: Food: 5/5More
Sara G: Very disappointing for this price range, I do not recommend.
DLL: First rate sushi with unique, creative flavor combinations, made with love. By far the best sushi in the Boston / Cambridge area. Don't miss the Japanese market with sauces, snacks, and sake!Vegetarian options: Also with interesting vegetarian rolls and appetizersKid-friendliness: Special littles menu for kids
Jacob H: Exceptional
Antonio Victor Dos Santos Fortunato: Amazing food and drinks. The place was good too.
A K: Food: 56/80. Maybe it was a one off experience or because the restaraunt has switched to takeout only but the sushi that I got was not very good. The fish seemed a little hard/tough and the sushi overall had a slightly strange taste to it.Atmosphere/Service: N/A because takeout onlyRe-eatability: 8/15. The food is healthy but overall I wouldn't eat again because of the taste. Food was pretty expensive.Overall: 67.3/100. Wouldn't eat at again while it is takeout only but might give it a shot if they return to a dining in style as I have heard that it used to be much better when they did that.
Alyssa Neckorcuk: Used to be my favorite place in Cambridge for sushi - updating the review though because that was based on their in person experience. They are still to-go only as of April 2022, and unfortunately it isn’t the same as it used to be. The quality of their to go orders doesn’t compare to the omakase experience they used to have in person. It certainly isn’t bad, but what you get for the price isn’t near the experience level that the non-to-go used to be
Victoria Kuohung: Really just fallen in quality - sad. A ghost of its former self, and due in no small part to its continuing pandemic restrictions.
Jennifer Hickey: So we normally LOVE cafe sushi and they have been my favorite spot for years,l. But the last time we ordered from here all of our sushi rolls had wayyy too much rice. It was really disappointing because they are normally so good so hoping it was a one time fluke.
Chloe McKinley: Love this place! Super friendly service. I got the salmon sushi box for lunch and it might have been the best sushi I’ve ever had. Very fresh and almost buttery soft - it was great for the quantity and price. I can’t wait to return!
Al L.: Weekday special is great!
Belle T: Cafe Sushi 🍣 never disappoints!!! It’s my #1 pick for weekend to-go dinner! My favorite is the Salmon sushi and Chirashi bowls! ❤️ the miso soup too!
Fabrice Cancre: Excellent sushi to go
Cee NYC: Fresh great quality seafood at competitive pricing. Relaxed environment.Vegetarian options: Meatless sushi rolls
Joe Carstairs: Love this place
Derin Aksit: Great sushi options and fresh ingredients
Michelle Victora: Surprisingly awesome takeout experience. Loved the custom sauces, nice quality rice, nori, and fishFood: 5/5 …More

Umami Omakase: what do users think?
S W: Our reservations were honored. Unfortunately, with more than four people we could not sit at the bar. Everyone left still a full stomach and my friends are still thinking about the foie gras.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jaz C: I was not aware that you had to go Hunger Games style for the counter seat which is probably why everyone gave me the stank-eye when I innocently walked into the restaurant past everyone and waited by the counter. That was still not enough because when the clock struck I was instantly ravaged by hungry sushi fiends who ran past me and established their dominance over the entire counter. I was pushed back and sadly stuck with a table so for future customers be warned for the need to train, practice, and be absolutely ready for the run of your life. That was a very jarring start to the meal. I would highly recommend a proper reservation system. The sushi was good and inventive and service was very attentive. The atmosphere was light and casual. However some pieces can be quite gimmicky which is not my cup of tea.
YM Z: Sit at the sushi bar and be wowed by the chefs and service. Every bite was a work of art for the eyes and the palate. Great sake pairings too.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jody Shumaker: Great experience. Can't really pick out any course as a standout as they were all quite good. Great sake pairing choices.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Omakase, Yuzu Langoustine Nigiri …More
David Noireaut: Had one of the best bites of my life. Gotta love that otoro and truffle!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Stephanie Chen: My favorite omakase experience in the Boston area! The chefs and staff are always so kind and knowledgeable about the food as well.Recommended dishes Foie Gras Truffle, Duck Breast, Caviar Japanese A5 Wagyu, Clam Miso Soup, Seared Tuna …More
Aaron Caine: Fantastic experience. Minimalist atmosphere. Top notch quality (compare to a similar spot between thr seaport & Chinatown). Attentive and professional service.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Nathan Lintz: I just ate at umami for my partners 30th birthday. I can say without a doubt, this is the BEST restaurant in Boston. Every course was a unique and delicious experience. And the courses truly reinvigorated my creative spirit. Eating at umami is the opportunity of a lifetime.
David Zabner: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Foie Gras Truffle, Bluefin Tuna Sashimi, Clam Miso SoupMore
Elizabeth Johnson: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Omakase, Caviar Japanese A5 Wagyu, Clam Miso Soup, Uni SpoonMore
Abi Doctor: So tasty! And such a fun way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.Recommended dishes Omakase …More
Chris E: 3 stars for mid omakase. They favor presentation over innovation. Asking diners to pull out their phones and record is just flat out weird.Experience was enjoyable but left much to be desired.
Josh Amato: We love Umami they are so nice and friendly. The fish is very fresh and the preparations are creative and fun.Recommended dishes Omakase …More
Anna Vi: If I could give this place 6 Stars, I would.Everything about the dining experience, from beginning to end, was top notch. The restaurant, also been a sake bar, has an impressive sake selection. The Chef has have truly outdone himself with creating this menu. It had all the delights, from the freshest fish, to A5 Japanese Wagyu, foie gras, smoked duck breast, uni, bluefin toro and more, garnished very tastefully with roes, caviar, finely chopped salads and other delicious surprises. Every piece was a carefully crafted piece of art, and tasted simply phenomenal. The service was phenomenal as well. Michael worked his magic to make this night not only possible, but unforgettable, and both him and Jeff were on top of every step, being professional while friendly, attentive and caring throughout the evening.Lastly, if you have a chance, for dinner, sit at the sushi bar. These spots do fill up quick, speaking from experience, so reserve in advance.
Z Z: Their Omakase is good! And the 4 stars for overpriced, they charge you for both administrative fee and gratuity, that’s not accepted at other omakase like No Relation I think!
Ashwin k: Had a great experience for my wife's birthday! Probably one of the best meals I've ever had. Worth the money for sure!!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Yuzu Langoustine Nigiri, Caviar Japanese A5 Wagyu …More

The Mad Monkfish: what do users think?
Andrew Ten Have: I had to he snapper fillet in a Thai sweet and sour sauce. You charge $20 for this at lunchtime. While the spicey sweet Thai sauce was good, the fish was overcooked, overly breadfed, and it seems like the meat inside all the fried coating was a very small portion, especially given the $20 price for this small entree at lunch time. I live in the neighborhood; I like the ideas in your menu, but I will probably not return because previously I have had overcooked, overly breaded/coated dishes from your chef.
Sami Basnet: Please do not spend your hard earned dollars on this place. We paid $130 for sushi that tasted worse than grocery store sushi, seafood dish worse than cheap Chinese takeout, and warm beer. The seafood was not fresh and was chewy and stale. The sushi that we paid a lot of money for looked revolting and tasted so stale and the rice was dry and it all fell apart. As if they made it hours in advance. My second wine came 20 mins after I ordered simply because they forgot. I had gotten take out from here before and it was this horrific. The service is good just the food failed at every level.
Porter Charles: Food was OK. I didn't get the sushi though, I got the spicy Thai streetfood noodles dish...which was not spicy at all, like a flaming got cheeto was spicier... just lacked flavor but the rest of the party seemed to enjoy their sushi. I did love the atmosphere and I wish they had live music more often. I'm not a sushi lover so I probably won't come back if I was alone but as a group to listen to music and get an app, then ya I would come back.
Liana Gerecht: Decent food and a cool atmosphere!
Brian Madrid: Feed was great, loved the mango salmon!Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jesse Groner: Love this place. Food is always great, service is always great, it's just an all around great restaurant. Good for both dates and groups!
ajinkya sawant: Good place to try Sushi for the first time. They have good apps and entrees. Entrees are a variety of some Thai cuisines, Chinese. Must try the Saki.
Chris Aguilar: The Mad Monkfish is in Cambridge and is a fairly popular sushi, Asian fusion restaurant with plenty of choices for anyone's palate. Our group of 4 had the scallion pancakes and Miso soup. For the main course we each chose a different sushi roll. Futo-maki, Sleeping Beauty Roll sushi (theme rolls), followed by a serving of the Duck Noodle soup and the serenity fried rice. It was all very good or better, and while the atmosphere was a little louder than I would prefer I would go back for the food regardless. I recommend anyone with a taste for Asian fusion food to give this establishment a try.
Dan Peluso: Fantastic date night spot - live music is wonderful here and I stop often when walking by to hear the band go. The food is definitely more expensive as far as sushi options go, but the quality is up there. They have some unique rolls too you can't find anywhere else. I think the jazz brings it to 4 stars with the food being a bit less, but definitely worth checking out.
Simba Kol: Atmosphere, food, service, and overall experience 5 stars.
Gianna Stebbins: Amazing sushi spot in Cambridge - fresh food, great service!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Edamame, Chicken Cashew Nut, California Roll …More
Aude-Marie Alem: Sushi was good, service was ok, atmosphere was terrible they washed the bathroom floor with bleach during dinner time and it smelled terribly strong in the restaurant which was not enjoyable.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes California Roll …More
Emily: Servers should not be rushing customers out when the restaurant is not crowded. There were probably only 3 other tables seated at the most. The server asked to take our orders 4-5 times in the first 15 minutes we were sat, did not pay attention to us otherwise until we were close to finishing and then hurried us to close out the bill too. Food was quite average and on the expensive side. There are lots of restaurants in Boston with better quality fish and service, so I would recommend going elsewhere!
Alyssa Lumbreras: We walked in and found a jazz group playing. Drinks were great, and the music was amazing.Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sadie: Lives up to its reputationFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Renata Freitas: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Dave Farley: Amazing sushi!! Some interesting rolls but really good. Drinks were good as well. Definitely will come back for a jazz night.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Frederic Fransen: Great sushi and service!
Quentin Fennessy: My wife and I had a wonderful meal on a Friday evening. We were seated outside the jazz room and enjoyed the live music. The sushi was first class. The Katsu curry chicken was delicious and the serving was very generous.Recommended dishes Crispy Chicken, California Roll …More
Pratik Dahibhate: Starters are good, main course could have been a little better.
