siddanth rai: Amazing food!! One of the best carts that serve Mediterranean food. There is definitely not much parking space available. You will have to go with the pick up option. Service is super quick, your order will be ready within 5min. I usually have the chicken over rice or lamb on rice. Falafel they serve is very fresh and crunchy, I just love it. Highly recommended this cart, you will not be disappointed.

Samantha Rose: Excellent food, Mediterranean food, our favorite is chicken and rice combo, with extra white tzatziki sauce. 10 out of 10Highly recommend this food truck.Fair prices and super quick service either walk up or have delivered.Parking: There is a small lot to park, very busy across from umass lowell, food truck is in small busy lot.
John Maher: We love this semi-permanent food truck. Our son goes to UMass, and this is right on the edge of North campus across from the Riverside parking lot. Every time we visit our son with his sisters, we have to get food from the truck. Our favorite is the chicken and rice plate. Our son likes it with the hot sauce (it’s pretty spicy!). The gyros are great too (chicken or lamb) but you can’t beat the portion that you get with the rice plate. We often have enough left over for lunch the next day. Go there now.

Jamie Johnson: It is what is was and that's good!
Bob Rioux: Traditional Greek!
Michael Payette: Sentimental favorite. We had one of our first dates here... At the 'window table'.
Stephen G: Party of four and we all had something different. Lamb, chicken, calamara, and a sampler. We left clean plates!Server was polite, attentive and able to adjust a bit to suit our individual needs.Prices reasonable. Dinner for two was just over $50 including tip.Plenty of parking in area make this a place to return to many times.Wheelchair accessibility: All except restrooms since they on second floor with stairs only.
Helen Phinney: The lamb shank dinner was absolutely delicious and the dessert greek custard was wonderful 👍👍👍👍👍👍 will definitely be going back
Chayanis Hauswirth: Good food, nice and friendly service!
Mick Dunn: Authentic Greek restaurant with very good food, service and atmosphere.
Maria McCluskey: Came from out of town and being Greek wanted to eat in a Greek restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the food. The half chicken was so dry I could not hardly eat it. Husband had a gyro, which was okay but not the best. The waitress was fine but did not even know how to pronounce gyro. Best part was the retsina. I have to assume that it is more americanized than Greek. Sad.
Ellen Sherman: Great lunch anf and dinner menu
Timothy Jenkins: Sometimes, mistakes are made, and that's ok. It's ok if an employee has a bad day and maybe isn't as friendly as many expect in this culture. I didn't experience anything like that here, but what I did experience on my last visit was far worse. When I stopped in to pick up a delivery order, the place was completely packed with people standing in about every possible square foot of space. There was a woman spewing right-wing conspiracies into a microphone as some in the crowd expressed their agreement. Clearly, some rally of the uninformed was occurring. How could a restaurant provide a platform for such dangerous rhetoric? How could they expect the team members to work under such verbally abusive conditions? You might have the best food I've ever had, but you can be sure I'll never care to find out.
Stephen Leung: (TAKE OUT) Got the gyro sandwich with a side of rice. Disappointed that the gyro was essentially 2 slices of meat, tzatziki sauce, and a pita. Didn't think the flavor was anything special. The menu lists tomatoes, onions, and parsley that were basically non-existent. The rice came with marinara sauce on top (not indicated on menu). The rice tasted good, but I'm not a fan on the marinara sauce on top. Overall meal was mediocre.
deraysa: Lunch for two plus tip came to $37. Did not like the red sauce on my rice pilaf, and the portion of overcooked lamb and sauce in the gyro was less than generous. The lemon soup was rather bland. Also, the ladies room was not all that clean. The atmosphere was tired and lackluster
Steve: Went to dinner prior to a concert at Tsongas center. Food was good. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
Shannon Conroy: Features: Foods delicious the make portions smaller than before COVID same price for less food was disappointing but foods delicious enough to keep me coming back Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes Curbside pickup: No …More

Marko’s Mediterranean Grill: what do users think?
glenn davison: Be careful. I've been there twice recently and it was closed both times
Kiran Thomas: The first time I had the Grilled Gyro from Marko's was back in 2019 and I had the same from there again today, April 2022, this time it was tastier. I have got no words to describe it. Awesome food.
Vian: Nice staff and good food. I would prefer the bread to be less dry and less salad/humus as it was messy and little hard to chew on.
Kenneth Sundquist: I am going to keep it simple, This is some of the greatest Food ever, Best Gyro I have ever had!Simple menu which is always a good think I believe and just amazing food!!
Masha VK: Best chicken gyro of my entire life.
Ashar Saleem: It may not be as noticeable from the street as it should be, but Markos in Lowell is some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The customer service is top notch and it has exactly the flavor profile that I was hoping for.The chicken is tender and cooked fresh. The yogurt and cucumber sauce and hot sauce go extremely well together. My wife and I usually share one order of their Monster Fries with chicken (spicy). It is more than enough for two people and the fries serve as a great bed for the chicken, tomatoes, onions and sauces. My only complaint would be, of the multiple times we've had, one time the fries were not as fresh as I would have liked. To be fair, it was about a half hour till they close. There are benches outside which you can eat on, or just eat in the car. There is parking available usually, but the traffic right outside is a pain sometimes. They have confirmed on Facebook and in person that the chicken is halal
Jin Saya: It was ok. Got the grilled gyro. Little on the salty side and drenched with sauce. I'll have to try the combo plate next time. Being it was my first time going. Having lived in Lowell for over 15years.Dine in: No Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes …More
trish peterson: I am a delivery driver for doordash and I LOVE when I have orders to pick up from Marko’s! Everyone there is beyond friendly, especially the woman in the front. She personally delivers everyone’s food right out to them in their car, no need to wait in long confusing lines. She’s always bright and cheery and puts me in a good mood whenever I see her.
pianopaper No: Thanks for the delicious food. Stay happy.
Biv RM: Love falafel? Marko's is THE PLACE
Tom Bomb: Marko’s has the best gyro around. Get the “gyro platter” for some extra crispy Greek fries. Stop by for lunch during the week, or for their dinner hours on certain days. This food is delicious, and right in the heart of downtown Lowell!
James Metilinos: Go right now. The customer service is impeccable and the food matches. The Mediterranean loaded fries with marinated chicken and spicy sauce was fantastic. Portion was quite large and the staff will bring food to a table or car for you. The unfortunate reality is the traffic patterns make this place criminally difficult to get to. But I’ll walk a mile in the snow to go here if I have to. Keep up the phenomenal work.
Patty Menear: Love this place! Food quick and hot!Too bad the construction at the overpass makes it hard to get into! Won't stop me tho, will be back!
Nae S: If you haven't been here - what are you waiting for??? My go to is the Gyro, add greens with light spicy sauce... The flavoring on the meat is amazing, the tzatziki sauce with light spicy sauce to die for. The tzatziki perfectly mellows out the heat but the spicy sauce adds so much flavor! The girl helping with orders is a sweetheart! If you are in the area you should def. check this place out - if you are far, it is worth the drive! Be ready to commit, it is so stuffed that once you start eating you cannot put it down, have extra napkins handy!
Cody Cadenhead: Awesome falafel gyro, friendly service
J Vieira: Absolutely delicious,
Amanda Sirois: Hands down the best Mediterranean food in the area! The hummus and falafel 💯
Pamela Brunelle: The best gyro I have ever had..... Amazing monster fries
Miguel R: Love the place. Very delicious gyros.
Evan Long: Amazing gyro. Friendly staff. All around great: a local treasure.
Seek Productions: Them loaded fries bomb 💣🔥🔥🔥

Sahel Restaurant & Lounge: what do users think?
Rithy Eth: Always drove by this restaurant so thought to give it a try tonight. Ordered delivery and regretted it. Ordered only 2 items and they forgot one of the items. The order i did received was the jerk chicken but first bite it was cold. Also, only recieved 3 small pieces of chicken which for the price point in my opinion isn't worth it. Overall, a bad experience and won't be giving it a second chance.
Felicia Coutu: Worked there from January 25th to February 14th. For my first week(until the 31st) I had no numbers to clock in nor use for serving and using pos system, therfore all my credit tips went to someone else. I was serving, hosting, bartending(don't know anything about it) bussing and answering the phones. Bosses would stand around drinking and watch the chaos unfold as people waited extra long for uncooked food, horrible beverages and no bread or butter to eat while waiting. They also were only paying me $5.50 per hour even after explaining to them the law has changed to 6.75 for servers as of 1/25. Finally after my first paycheck for 5.50 a hour they told me they would fix it for next paycheck. They did but only to 6.50. They also aren't aware that the law states if my tips and min wage do not sum up to the minimum wage of $15 I am entitled to the larger one whichever that is. And I never made tips as the place is not busy. It is sad to see how many people run that place illegally and how many employees are not paid properly.
Bob Lala: Very much a mid spot. How are you in a college community but don’t throw +18 parties. I should not be partying next to someone 3x my age…
Betchela meronnis: I have mixed feelings about the food. I am from the Caribbean and I have so many friends who are Africans and I love to eat their jollof rice. So, I decided to buy it. The rice was really dried. It looked like it been cooked for a while. They just heat it up in the microwave.Dancing Jerk Chicken was great but spicy.Egusi Stew. I did not like the smell. The smell was so unpleasant. Again, maybe because of different cultures but I didn’t like it.Overall, there is room for improvement. Lowell is full of Africans. Having a restaurant with good food to represent them will be fantastic.
Kazi Tanzeem Shahid: We came to Lowell on short notice and were looking for a restaurant that was open in late night. We called and confirmed that the restaurant closes at 12, and the kitchen closes at 11.When we came after 10, we were told that the kitchen closed at 10, and the restaurant is closing. We tried to explain what we were told a short while ago, and they just shut the door on our faces. Apparently this early closing happens on Sundays, then why were we told of the later closing times since we called on a Sunday? This kind of miscommunication is beyond frustrating.EDIT: Regarding the owner's response, I can understand that the kitchen closes at 10, that's fine, but since we called just shortly before that, we should not have been told that the kitchen closes at 11.And my name isn't KariAlso, if anyone who thinks i'm being nitpicky here, we were on Lowell during a connecting flight, we literally were short on time and finding a place to eat that late at night was a more critical issue than usual.
Jennifer Boggie: The food is delicious and the atmosphere is friendly. My only complaint is the food takes a long time to come, but it's delicious and freshly prepared, and very flavorful. Great for family dinner and kid-friendly, but also an excellent date night atmosphere.
Shaleen Gutu: The food is terrible. The oxtail taste like it was drowned in ketchup. Egusi is not authentic. They have people who aren’t even versed in cooking ethnic food. Don’t even dare come at night the service is absolutely terrible the bartenders are great but they don’t have sufficient staff to help. Owners and management have no knowledge of their own bar. Waiting 20mins for a drink at a Lowell bar that’s not even near capacity is absolutely ridiculous. Mind you management called me a “b****” after voicing my frustrations. 1/10 I don’t recommend.
Keionia Jefferson: Good food had a great experience
Steven Gutierrez: This was the worst experience I ever been too been here couple times dj was not good security guard was super rude and ridiculous was ignoring me while I was talking would not recommend hope that lightskin security will not be working there no more super disrespectful to customers!!!
Natalia Gonzalez: Such bad customer service when coming in. The guy security is disrespectful and shouldn’t work there.
Becky Ajuonuma: Came here for a private group dinner and had a great experience. The owner and restaurant manager gave us a personal overview of the restaurant and it’s mission + all the events they put on to engage with the community.I particularly enjoyed the food (went for seconds because it was buffet style) I had the beef suya, stew, plantains, puff puff and couscous. There’s a restaurant at the top and a lounge + bar at the bottom for events.
Orianna Natsis: I decided to try Sahel after having walked past it dozens of times. After my experience there I can definitely say I will be coming back, as well as recommending it to others! The food was delicious- quickly prepared, fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious! The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're looking for your new favorite dish, try the Dancing Jerk Chicken!
Giovannie Z: This is a terrific restaurant. The food is great especiallyas an African, you eat and feel like home. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Thank you for giving us a taste of homeFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Adebodilan: This is a terrific restaurant. The food is great especiallyas an African, you eat and feel like home. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Thank you for giving us taste of home.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
tunde adebimpe: Horrible experience! I don’t know how this reviews came to be and I’m curious to know. I ordered pounded yam and egusi. Pounded yam is the size of a tennis ball. My egusi soup had no meat!!! No meat!!!! I repeat, no meat!!!! I told the owner and the server and owner asked if I wanted to order meat separately. This bowl cost me $24, 50% more than I’d pay to eat same meal somewhere else. Yes, no meat! This reviews are from non-Africans. No wonder I don’t see a single African come in, and place is super empty. I will not be going back!!
Levitate Echo on PS5: Food was great and people were nice I recommend
Julissa Jiminian: I’ve always wanted to try egusi and fufu but I’ve never been able to find anywhere near. This local spot in Lowell has incredible food. I finally tried it today and let me tell you if you’ve been thinking about it just try it you won’t be disappointed. The staff was super friendly I will definitely come by again and have some drinks they close at 2am on Fridays!!
Joseph Hayes: Food and Service Was Great...Unfortunately There is A Junky Who Sits In A Lawn Chair in front of Restaurant Begging For Change, And His Friends either passed out...and/or doing drugs/drinking on the Side Of The Restaurant...its such a shame City of Lowell let people like this ruin this area...we surely will not be back to dine in...but will probably have it delivered...it was delicious...just a shame about who is hanging out in the front.
Kat Chantre: This is the second time I've tried to order from this restaurant and couldn't. First time I ordered online for their oxtail plate, after waiting a while for my order. Tracking the online order I noticed it was automatically changed to the jerk chicken dish which I did not want. I guess they ran out of oxtail, but I had to contact the delivery driver to not accept the order. Because first, I was not informed that they no longer had oxtail and if I would prefer a different dish. I let it go asked for a refund and left it at that. This time around the oxtail is no longer available for online order, I noticed it hasn't been since, so I decided to go with two other dishes. The jerk chicken and the red snapper. Online explains the fish can be "baked or fried" but I had no way to make that option to choose. And the picture online also shows veggies but nothing that guaranteed it to come with the plate other than rice. So I had questions, or tried to leave a special instructions, however online they were not receiving special or specific instructions, even if I was to write I have a shellfish allergy since I saw they also carry shrimp inhouse. So I called the restaurant for pickup order through the phone, with hope someone could answer all my questions because now no matter what online method I used like delivery, pick up or carry out I was faced with the same restrictions. I called around 2:30pm, a gentleman answered and said he would call me back in 5 mins but never did, I called many times after that and got no answer. Really sucks because all I see is great reviews and amazing pictures uploaded with reviews that make you want to try their food. But maybe the only way is to dine in. But I would hate to meet the same bad experience.
Wincia Emmanuel: Best restaurant ever they foods is very delicious
ERIC A TCHUIGOUA: Sahel restaurant is located in the heart of Lowell on Central Ave. The city itself is going through Major overhaul with constructions which, to me is perfect as I get to see part of the old city and what it will be in few months.Sahel restaurant is very unique and authentic. It is a two level restaurant whereas the top is for dining and the lower level for private events which one can also book. The food menu is diverse as it encompasses different cultures. Whether you're looking for a classic American experience or even just looking to try African or Jamaican food, Sahel menu will not disappoint you. When it comes to service, the staff at Sahel restaurant is outstanding, knowledgeable, courteous and always happy. I was visiting from DC and didn't know anything about Boston and Lowell. The staff made me feel welcome, pointed out things and places to see and do and that was just FANTASTIC!I had the egusi stew which was perfect! If you're in Massachusetts visiting, I highly recommend you drive to Lowell and visit Sahel, you will not regret.Vegetarian options: Butternut squash soup Kid-friendliness: Nuggets, cheeseburger Wheelchair accessibility: The front door has a rampDietary restrictions: Staff will walk you through any restrictions you may have.

Don Greenwood: Best authentic Greek food in the Merrimack Valley3/15/23 Very disappointed with 2 roast lamb dinners to go today. Both with leftover lamb .and leftover rice. My daughter, who took the dish home to her residence in Shrewsbury, remembered she took the photo included. Not very good at that, too hungry to return. Will check dishes before I leave next time. I'll know better than to order to at lunchtime in the future. Do better Olympia!

Helene Georgakopoulos: Excellent Greek food and good service.
Francis Ekidor: First time at the Olympia Restaurant. The food and service were top shelf. Marietta, our server, was very helpful in explaining the menu items and Greek wine selection. The restaurant is small, but, cozy. We've added the Olympia to our list of favorite restaurants in the greater Lowell area.
Ida Jacques: I love the food here. Only today and last time I was here the egg soup could of been hotter. Was close to cold and tasted very watery. Update Feb 2023 What happened? Whats happening to the food here? Quality is getting worse. Appetizer spinach pie was horrible, burnt &hard as a rock. Hope you get your act together

Dyment Edward: I grew up dating my wife and dining here close to 50 years. It is our default restaurant. That is not a derogatory term as we live in Lowell and we know what we like. We eat there probably 4-5 times per year. Wife orders baked lamb and I get the Lamb shoulder with garnish accompanied with a Gin Martini. As we are older we go early. Went there and as always it was excellent. Waitress (not server) was great . As my wife and I are older now there are wonderful leftovers for lunch.

Ray: We came here for lunch on the new year's Eve Saturday before 12 and we were the only customer as there were few takeouts. More people came around 1pm.We ordered roasted lamb leg, lamb shoulder, lamb chops, pork chops, and meat ball, chicken kabob for kids. The roasted lambs were tender, the leg was juicer than the shoulder. Lamb chops were nicely seasoned and grilled. Pork chops were thick and juicy, great for the price. Rice and potato were good, but a sprinkle of herb can enhance the flavor. My son loved the chicken kabobs as the meats were well seasoned and tender. My daughter didn't like the baked meatballs too much as it has too many spices, it was fine for adult taste. The egg custard like desert was not too sweet, perfect. The one with all the nuts is on the sweeter side, but tasty.

Alex Z: Nice quiet restaurant serving Armenian food. Interesting food, both appetizers and main courses, and drink choices. Majority of main courses are served with Armenian bread, so might as well or even have to order side dishes.Parking: On the side, back of the restaurant
Dmitry A. Bond: We came down from Maine to spend a day in Boston. We are blessed we found this Russian restaurant. I visited dozens of Russian restaurants in the USA but this one is one of the best. The food, the service and the atmosphere deserve 10 out of 10 stars! Very affordable prices! Highly recommended! Next time in Boston will definitely come again!Parking: Easy to Park
Greg Hartunian: Ordered chicken, lamb, and losh kebabs for 30 people. Meat was cooked perfectly. All of the sides were delicious as well. Very accomodating for a large order and I lots of questions and requests. Have also dined in as well and had a great experience. Love the losh kebabs.

Our waiter Victor was friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic about the food. We ordered a Georgian flatbread (Khachapuri) to share as an appetizer and each choose a kebab entree. Delicious! My husband especially enjoyed his soojookh kebab, which is more spicy. And my husband and son tried some beer from the menu, which includes options from around the world. (FYI- the restaurant has a parking lot behind it off of Watertown Street, and some street parking on Galen Street)

It wasn't busy and they still never came back for another drink order or water refill or to even see how we are doing. We had to flag them down when we were done to get a box for leftovers and the bill. The food is amazing, perhaps just a bad night service wise. Regardless, I'll still go back, especially for the Khachapuri!
