Kiran Thomas: The first time I had the Grilled Gyro from Marko's was back in 2019 and I had the same from there again today, April 2022, this time it was tastier. I have got no words to describe it. Awesome food.

Ashar Saleem: It may not be as noticeable from the street as it should be, but Markos in Lowell is some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The customer service is top notch and it has exactly the flavor profile that I was hoping for.The chicken is tender and cooked fresh. The yogurt and cucumber sauce and hot sauce go extremely well together.My wife and I usually share one order of their Monster Fries with chicken (spicy). It is more than enough for two people and the fries serve as a great bed for the chicken, tomatoes, onions and sauces.My only complaint would be, of the multiple times we've had, one time the fries were not as fresh as I would have liked. To be fair, it was about a half hour till they close.There are benches outside which you can eat on, or just eat in the car. There is parking available usually, but the traffic right outside is a pain sometimes.They have confirmed on Facebook and in person that the chicken is halal

trish peterson: I am a delivery driver for doordash and I LOVE when I have orders to pick up from Marko’s! Everyone there is beyond friendly, especially the woman in the front. She personally delivers everyone’s food right out to them in their car, no need to wait in long confusing lines. She’s always bright and cheery and puts me in a good mood whenever I see her.

Tom Bomb: Marko’s has the best gyro around. Get the “gyro platter” for some extra crispy Greek fries. Stop by for lunch during the week, or for their dinner hours on certain days. This food is delicious, and right in the heart of downtown Lowell!
James Metilinos: Go right now. The customer service is impeccable and the food matches. The Mediterranean loaded fries with marinated chicken and spicy sauce was fantastic. Portion was quite large and the staff will bring food to a table or car for you. The unfortunate reality is the traffic patterns make this place criminally difficult to get to. But I’ll walk a mile in the snow to go here if I have to. Keep up the phenomenal work.

The flavoring on the meat is amazing, the tzatziki sauce with light spicy sauce to die for. The tzatziki perfectly mellows out the heat but the spicy sauce adds so much flavor! The girl helping with orders is a sweetheart! If you are in the area you should def. check this place out - if you are far, it is worth the drive! Be ready to commit, it is so stuffed that once you start eating you cannot put it down, have extra napkins handy!

Abdul Lohar: Its a great middle eastern halaal food joint. I recommend lamb shank, sheekh kabob, fish and smoked rice. The portions are huge and will definitely fill up your belly. Dont listen to 1 star reviews and try it out yourself. I have been going here since they opened and have enjoyed the meal every single time even after change of ownership. Its a great halaal option in city of lowell.

K R: I got lost trying to find the restaurant because it's inside the red building and there wasn't any signage outside. All I can say is this place is a hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the mixed app 1 which came with stuffed grape leaves (5ct. We ordered the vegetarian option but there's a meat option as well), babaganosh, hummus and pita bread. For meals we ordered the falafel entree which came with a bunch rice and cute little falafels, the roasted chicken dinner that came with rice and the falafel wrap. The chicken dinner and falafel dinner portions were massive so you get what you paid for. The app was also great for 3 people. For 2 people, I probably wouldn't recommend it cause it was alot. The atmosphere was very cozy even though it is in the lobby of a building. We arrived around 6:30pm and it was dead which was nice. Service was also really great (shout out to Shravya!) and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. We spent around $112 total and everyone left with leftovers 😊. If you're in Lowell check this place out. Tracy Chau: Shravya is a kind and attentive hostess/server. Portions were large! The roast chicken was moist with a honey and spice glaze on the outside. It was delicious! Maria McCluskey: Came from out of town and being Greek wanted to eat in a Greek restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the food. The half chicken was so dry I could not hardly eat it. Husband had a gyro, which was okay but not the best. The waitress was fine but did not even know how to pronounce gyro. Best part was the retsina. I have to assume that it is more americanized than Greek. Sad.

Timothy Jenkins: Sometimes, mistakes are made, and that's ok. It's ok if an employee has a bad day and maybe isn't as friendly as many expect in this culture. I didn't experience anything like that here, but what I did experience on my last visit was far worse.When I stopped in to pick up a delivery order, the place was completely packed with people standing in about every possible square foot of space. There was a woman spewing right-wing conspiracies into a microphone as some in the crowd expressed their agreement. Clearly, some rally of the uninformed was occurring.How could a restaurant provide a platform for such dangerous rhetoric? How could they expect the team members to work under such verbally abusive conditions? You might have the best food I've ever had, but you can be sure I'll never care to find out.
Stephen Leung: (TAKE OUT) Got the gyro sandwich with a side of rice. Disappointed that the gyro was essentially 2 slices of meat, tzatziki sauce, and a pita. Didn't think the flavor was anything special. The menu lists tomatoes, onions, and parsley that were basically non-existent. The rice came with marinara sauce on top (not indicated on menu). The rice tasted good, but I'm not a fan on the marinara sauce on top. Overall meal was mediocre.

Dyment Edward: I grew up dating my wife and dining here close to 50 years. It is our default restaurant. That is not a derogatory term as we live in Lowell and we know what we like. We eat there probably 4-5 times per year. Wife orders baked lamb and I get the Lamb shoulder with garnish accompanied with a Gin Martini. As we are older we go early. Ray: We came here for lunch on the new year's Eve Saturday before 12 and we were the only customer as there were few takeouts. More people came around 1pm.We ordered roasted lamb leg, lamb shoulder, lamb chops, pork chops, and meat ball, chicken kabob for kids.The roasted lambs were tender, the leg was juicer than the shoulder. Lamb chops were nicely seasoned and grilled. Pork chops were thick and juicy, great for the price. Rice and potato were good, but a sprinkle of herb can enhance the flavor. My son loved the chicken kabobs as the meats were well seasoned and tender. My daughter didn't like the baked meatballs too much as it has too many spices, it was fine for adult taste.The egg custard like desert was not too sweet, perfect. Food was so fresh and good quality. Hummus and falafel are one of the best in town. Neat place and kind and courteous staff. Tom Newberry: Like the decor and presentation for a counter order style restaurant. Red lentil soup was delightful. However, the rosemary chicken and rice was dry with no real flavor to the meat. Did not look like the picture on the menu board over the counter. Pricing was not bad for the amount of food, however not compelling for flavor and texture. If my interest had not been piqued by the soup I may not have been so disappointed by the entree. Compounded by no beer, other than NA, or wine and a strong desire by the staff to have everyone out by the 8 pm closing time rather than allowing for enjoying the food made for an unwelcoming experience. Recommend a hard pass for dinner but a decent option at lunchtime for the soup and apps with no quick close cutting you off.

As soon as I cashed out, I immediately regretted not getting the baklava though. Also, it was lunch time and almost every table was occupied, which is ALWAYS a good sign.The gyro was great. The atmosphere from the friendliness of the staff, to their hospitality, music, and overall vibe reminds me of our lives in Istanbul. The prices are good with great portion sizes too. We had the mixed grill plate, pide, çoban salata, çigara börek, and fırın sütlaç (rice pudding) and of course tea! Will definitely be back here!
Ipek Olenchek: Awesome Turkish food in the Boston area! We came for a weekend Turkish breakfast and everything was delicious. The sucuklu yumurta and menemen were done exactly like you’d find them in Turkey and came in generous portions. The su boregi was amazing, the bread was fluffy and so tasty. The kazandibi was just delightful. The service was fast and very friendly, they were so accommodating of our little kid too! The music was also fantastic — some early 2000s Turkish pop put us all in a great mood! I’d absolutely recommend this place — we’ll most definitely be coming back for more breakfast and to try their lunch/dinner options soon!

As always the food was prepared with great attention to detail, the precise reheating directions were perfect and the food was simply delicious, enjoyed by both the adults and kids (11 and 16) in our family. We ordered a selection of vegetarian dishes, and while it’s hard to call out any dishes since they are all so delicious and flavorful, the okra, stuffed eggplant and hazelnut cake were particularly wonderful, in addition to the other delicious mezze - artichokes, carrot dip, hummus, baba ganoush. The service at the time of ordering, pick up and follow up was excellent. This restaurant has become one of favorite places to order out to celebrate, and we are always in for a treat.Original review from 2022:Chef Mehmet's food is delicious and the service is exemplary. This was our first time trying the food at Cafe Mangal, and we ordered a selection of vegetarian dishes from their thoughtfully designed dinner carryout menu. The meal was absolutely fantastic. The directions to reheat were detailed and every single dish-- especially the complementary artichokes in olive oil-- was fresh, unique and delicious. Chef Mehmet also followed up with us to ensure that we enjoyed the meal. We look forward to enjoying his wonderful culinary creations again, and would wholeheartedly recommend Cafe Mangal to anyone.

Not only is chef and owner Mehmet very welcoming and the atmosphere warm, cozy, and comforting but the food is also a masterpiece: it is visually appealing, super fresh, and a delicious explosion of flavor in your mouth! We ordered the Chicken and Mozzarella Panino (a must!) and the Tuna and Avocado Salad (absolutely incredible!). The salad dressing that comes with the salads and in the sandwiches is beyond incredible and chef Mehmet's Homemade Walnut Baklava is delicious! If you are there for a cup of coffee, we highly recommend their espresso and cappuccino! We are definitely coming back for more and can't wait to see Chef Mehmet and the staff at Cafe Mangal again!
