Thankful to have discovered this place during my short time as a resident of Lowell.Plain/old-fashioned donuts or crullers have always been my go-to with donuts, and Donut Shack has THE best plain donuts bar none! We got a selection including some filled, which my husband and son said they were very good.Thank you Donut Shack!

Jerry Hunsicker: We traveled about an hour to find this location. We parked across the street from it in a little plaza which was convenient. 2 doors facing each other at the tip of a triangle is the entry. Quite strange and no wheelchair access here. We got a dozen donuts and chose a wide variety. The flavored donuts really made the trip worth it to try something new. Marshmallow strawberry was good and so was the apple, jelly, and cruller. The plain glazed donut was not that good? Too much glaze for sure and very bland I would say. I didn't care for the coffee but that's not why we came. All in all the flavored donuts were delicious and worth the trip. We probably wont be back as it's quite far for donuts but worth trying out for sure.

Richard Hutchison: Best donuts ever! Sure some donut shops offer fancier more complicated donuts, but the donut shack has perfected the art of the donut. They have many kinds to choose from as well, including classic old fashioned and honey dipped (as well as frosted varieties of both), Boston cream, chocolate or vanilla creme, jelly, or my personal favorite, creme and jelly, and many more. And these aren't little baby donuts either. I mean, I can eat, but I'm feeling pretty full after two of these (which is a shame because they are so good you'll want to eat the whole box in one sitting). The shop itself isn't much, is a fairly small storefront with a couple tables and the ordering counter, but don't worry, they'll be just as good by the time you get home. And you know they are fresh! Get there early and they are still warm. And when they are out they're out (they don't just pull more out of the freezer like some other donut shops). They offer up good coffee as well. Service was friendly as and their pricing is great, a dozen donuts was $14. That's less than the fancy fru fru donut shops, less than the big chains, and even less than Market Basket! It's definitely well worth the visit to have a donut that was made to perfection by a shop that absolutely nails the fundamentals of donut making instead of one that just tried to make the most outrageous donuts. Just make sure you get there early to make sure you can get the donut you want!

I'm into chocolate filled and lemon filled donuts, but your first donut should be the vanilla marshmallow filled donut! It's the go-to for many. I've spoken to the founder Eric, and he showed me that they buy the most expensive, highest quality ingredients for donuts and you will taste the difference. The people working there are the best! I tend to go early for the shortest line. On occasion, they make an apple strudel that is out of this world.

Richard Hutchison: Top donut has fallen from grace. They do have a wide and varied selection of figurines for their coffees, and their donuts are okay, but they discontinued making the only donut that made the visit worth while. They no longer make French crullers. They used to make 4 flavors (original, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) but I went today and was informed they no longer make them. To be perfectly honest the only reason I went was for crullers because the rest are nothing special, just run off the mill big chain donuts. So I'll be sticking with the donut shack from now on. They don't sell crullers and never have, but their donuts are indefinitely superior in quality, and also a little bit less expensive. A message for Top Donut: Give me a call when you bring crullers back, because until then I'll be buying donuts elsewhere.

We didn't have any coffee (lots of flavors are offered). Bagels not so great, so focus on the really wonderful donuts they offer! Prices are very reasonable, too!

This is where convience becomes very inconvenient especially for mobile app orders as they allow you to order the items only to find out they are out of stock when you get there and there lies the problem. Wish I could give them a higher rating but this has happened multiple times. So be cautious especially when ordering through the mobile app.

Henry Cay: Woman working here was very rude. Ignored my existence for 5 minutes while I waited in line directly in front of the counter. Didn't say anything while she did something with the cash register and repeatedly went to the back room. She didn't make eye contact and smirked when I tried to make it with her, as if she knew she was wasting my time. I decided to leave after 5 minutes of waiting, and the second I did, she asked the other person waiting behind me, who had just gotten there, what they wanted. I felt insulted and I think that was the point. Don't know what her deal is, but I wont be coming back.
